It's such a wonderful shopping experience with something for everyone! I love how passionate and welcoming the employees are...Nothing is more important to them than a positive/professional customer service experience! Perishable and non-perishable goods are always fully stocked and ready for purchase! I particularly love the produce section, which always has the freshest and most delicious foods. The bakery section is enormous with the most amazing treats! Everything about Wegmans always holds a special place in my heart. Considering how I really don't love going food shopping to begin with, now having this Wegmans so close by has made me realize it's not so bad after all! Wegmans has a special place in my heart as I went to college upstate where there weren't many good food options. I used to go with friends to get subs from Wegmans and they were always amazing. So I was pretty excited when I heard there would be an outpost of this place coming to LI. I was pleased to see the sub shop at Wegmans churning out subs as I remembered. I think Wegmans also uses freshly baked bread for their subs; I chose the 'white everything' bread. I went with a large 'Wegmans Assorted' sub that has roast beef, ham, and turkey ($16.49). You can ask for packets of their 'sub sauce' on the side for no extra cost, which I recommend. I ended up pairing my sub with a bottle of Mountain Dew ($2.99). Total cost with tax included was $20.15. I was pleased to see that this Wegmans has a really nice seating area with a bunch of different tables and good natural lighting. You can get condiments and utensils for free upon entry. I unwrapped my sub and dug in. The sub itself is quite big, so I'm glad they still give you a lot of sandwich for the large size (I asked for my sub to be cut in quarters). However, when I finally took a bite of the sub, I was extremely disappointed. The sub was nothing like I remembered. It didn't taste bad, it's more that the sub didn't taste like anything at all. It felt like none of the ingredients had any flavor to it. It was kind of disorienting. I did some research online and realized that this is due to the cold cuts being used. It seems that the Wegmans subs of my memories used freshly sliced cold cuts of better quality, while the sub I got at the LI location used pre-cut cold cuts that were way worse quality. This resulted in a very 'watery' feel to the bite of the sandwich. There wasn't much flavor or texture to it at all. After realizing this upon the first bite, it was sad that the rest of the sandwich felt like dead weight. I ate the rest of it for dinner though cause I didn't want to waste anything. So I left Wegmans very disappointed to say the least. I guess it's true that nothing good lasts forever but I'm hoping that Wegmans can turn this around at some point.

(About a month ago) A worker (an older lady) was standing there waiting for something to come out of the oven and she was coughing and sneezing and sneezed right in my husbands sandwich. Pantry staples turned out to be cheaper from Union Market, where NOTHING is cheap. I did appreciate that they use minimal packaging. However, I don't think I'll be ordering again; I'd rather go across the street to Union, where I can select what I buy. If it rots fast, I only have myself to blame.

The portion size for herbs is ginormous -- much more for the price than my prior online grocer and even the farmer's market. (In fact, the helpings of chives, dill, sage, and the like, have been so big that I've shared some with my neighbor and still have more than I can use.) Over the months, I've also ordered swordfish, skate, chicken breasts, ground chicken, and ground turkey, and all were good. I also liked the blue cheese and pork sausage, both by itself and as transformed by me into Scotch eggs (really delicious). Some chicken sausage I got seemed less than fresh, but candidly, I'm not sure how long I let them sit before I opened the package, so that could be on me. One week, I got the wrong kind of peas by mistake, but the staff was very helpful in trying to fix the error and I ended up getting a full credit for what I ordered. Bottom line -- I'm a fan. I hope they keep on delivering to my neighborhood.

I walked in thinking he wouldn't remember me but he did so, I ended up buying the entire box. He said he would reorder and I plan to visit him again soon. I was surprised, shocked and extremely grateful. He was super welcoming, helpful and was able to admit when he was not familiar with a certain product but was willing to research it which I greatly appreciated.
