The reviews for this place are spot on. I stayed here because I had a conference that had a block of rooms here. Even with the block it was still $96/night plus tax. I would recommend you continue your hotel search. Pay a little extra for another hotel if need be. Carpets are stained in multiple places throughout the room, floors didn't look like they'd been vacuumed after the last guest, the dresser was sticky, and overall the place is pretty old and not well kept up. I didn't have as bad of an experience as some of the other reviews but I would never stay here again. The pool and water slide was fun for the kids. read more

Pros: Excellent restaurant. I got an excellent steak dinner after our late arrival with no problem (ordered about 9.45PM). *Very* nice, clean indoor waterpark with long water slide. Much better than Holodomes we've seen. 15Mbps download speeds, outstanding responsiveness for the internet connection. Cons: Huge, halls need better marking/maps/whatever so one doesn't get lost. Nice plasma TV doesn't have HDMI input, so no Netflix for us. read more

Ok. Update on our stay. Been here for 5 nights (we have to be here because our team is here for the little League world series) and just spoke to a young man name Colton. He came right up to our room and took care of the mold. He kept apologizing and said he is with maintanance and was never informed of the problem in our room. This is after I spoke to the manager twice about it and nothing was done. This place could be a series 4 to 5 star hotel except for the poor management. It is killing this place. Colton said he was going to talk to the general manager about getting us a discount. We will see. Thank you Colton for taking care of the issue that should have never been. read more

Some friends of mine were recently ROBBED right out of their hotel room in the middle of the night. They woke up to the guy burgling them. Honestly if I could give it a negative star rating I would. We definitely should've looked at the reviews before booking this hotel as the last night of our family trip. It claims to be a hotel with a water park. That's a joke! The pool is extremely tiny. The hot tub was of questionable cleanliness. The floor was disgusting! Spilled items, candy, giant hair balls from the over flow drains! Absolutely no clean towels. Honestly, after a Saturday night I would at least expect someone to make sure the pool was ready to open the next morning. The room itself was clean, granted the shampoo on the counter was used, but I bring my own. All in all, this place is a giant disappointment when you can book something nicer, with a better pool an exit up for the same price. Most definitely won't be back! read more

Can I give it 0 stars? Booked thru priceline and our room had a Murphy bed that is attached standing up on the wall. They pull it down I guess when they need a room with a bed but this was like sleeping on a rollaway or futon! Sleeping in the car would have been more comfortable! All the staff said was well you booked it on priceline and had you booked thru us you would have gotten a king bed not the Murphy bed! read more

Glass entrance doors to hotel were smeared and dirty. Friendly, courteous staff at front desk, but did not have much knowledge of Bismarck area, nor any maps available. Given the bad reviews given in the past, I was skeptical when my hubby announced that he made reservations here. We were pleasantly surprised with a clean, comfortable room, working air conditioning, and new decor. Yes, the rooms were a little too cozy for 5, but we tetrised the furniture around and got the roll-away in. We were looking for lost socks and toys at the end of our stay and found that they need to vacuum under the beds better, but that was our only complaint. The pool was fantastic for the kids! So, I came back into town from Vegas and got off the airplane , and I didn't want to drive. I walk in the lobby the staff was very friendly. I get to look at the pool area it looks great. It would be a great place for children , because it has a little water park and water slide. You also have to have wrist bands to get in which is fine, I don't like everyone and their dog in there. They gave me 5 wrist bands for my room so that was cool.I got a poolside Room 2 beds very nice and the room has a refrigerator with a little freezer and microwave. The prices average if you want to get a decent room they also have a lounge/bar with seems nice I haven't been in there just walked by. And so far I've had a great experience here I would recommend this. Also it's directly across the street from their Mall, their Sam's Club and walmartare up the expressway I was just takes a minute you're in the general area for anything you really want to do while you're here. read more

Horrible service! I got stuck in Bismarck due to a blizzard. I called ahead and booked TWO rooms for myself and a coworker. When we arrived for checkin they said I'd only booked one room! I had to argue with them in order to get the other room, while they continued to tell others that they had no rooms available. I accomplished getting both rooms. We asked them to go ahead and reserve our rooms for the next night just in case the weather was still bad. Unfortunately it was. I called down to the front to let them I wouldn't be leaving. Turns out they put my coworkers room down for another night but not mine. They blamed it on a new employee error. I got my room after arguing with them. So my complaints are: First of all, if you are that busy that you can't monitor or train a new employee, do not have them answering phones or checking people in. It's pretty obvious that she needed supervision. Secondly, don't tell me that I can get a room when you're telling other people that they can't. Talk about pissing people off. The room that I stayed in was dark and musty. Cleaning supplies was left in my room. The bathroom was not cleaned properly. Upon flushing the toilet I thought I was going to rip it right from the wall. This hotel needs a lot of work and needs better and more polite staff. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! read more

My husband and I stayed here mid-February and I would have to say it is probably one of the worst motel stays we have experienced in some 40 years of traveling. I contacted the property with our concerns prior to writing this in hopes they would at least acknowledge some of the issues, most especially the cleanliness and condition of the guest rooms. It is pretty clear they truly do not care because they are really the only indoor "water park" facility in Bismarck so people will continue to stay irregardless of any property issues. Traveler beware is the only advice I would offer. You would perhaps be much happier staying in a nearby facility and paying to use the pool area. read more

I just finished a two night stay at this facility with a group of 16 rooms. The check in process was a little difficult at times because the sales office didn't coordinate with the front desk regarding who may be in each room. We had a number of people that didn't show up as having a reservation because only the first person in the room was listed on the reservation. They should have had the room list I sent them at the front desk and it would have solved the problem. Other than that, the facility is great and the staff is accommodating. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!!!! IT IS NOT SAFE!!!!!!!! You may find a review in addition to mine that shares the same terrifying story, please continue reading so that you are aware about the lack of safety that this hotel provides and can protect yourself and your family. My boyfriend, friend and I booked a room at this hotel as we were traveling through ND on our way to Fargo. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised, the room seemed nice and we were excited about the indoor water slide. At around 5:00 am I was awoken by a noise in our room, it was the sound of something dropping from a desk in the far corner of the room right next to my bed. I looked up and saw a large dark figure rummaging through my boyfriends bag. I was terrified and immediately screamed. This awoken my boyfriend who was sleeping next to me and startled the stranger in my room. The burglar ran toward the door and my boyfriend was able to catch up to him but unfortunately he got away with some of our belongings and a lot of money. I have no idea how he got into my room, the door was closed which automatically locks it. The only way in would be if he obtained a key of his own or was let in. We also do not know how he got into the building itself, again he would either need a key or someone to let him in. I do not know how long he was in the room but the fact that he was in there period while three adults were in there sleeping is beyond anything that I can even begin to comprehend. I am just grateful that none of us were injured. The police arrived very quickly but were unable to do much besides get a limited description from my boyfriend. The most appalling thing about this incident is the lack of concern or action from the staff. As soon as the Manager on staff came upstairs he began to put the blame on us insinuating that we did not close our door correctly and that we are liable for that. How can this be? We did close the door correctly and checked it before going to bed. There was no offer to refund us our room or any concern for our safety or well-being. We were then told that there are NO SECURITY CAMERAS IN ANY PART OF THE HOTEL EXCEPT FOR THE FRONT DESK. Again, I find this appalling. As a female I felt completely violated. There is nothing more terrifying than waking up to a stranger in your room nearly two feet away from you. And the fact that he chose to enter a room in which three adults were sleeping makes me believe that he had little regard for his own life and would do anything for money. I hope that you take this review to heart and stay away from this hotel!!! IT IS NOT SAFE!!!!! I promise that this report is true, we filed a police report and it is on record. The one piece of advice that the police gave to us is to purchase a door stopper that can be wedged under the door and cannot be kicked in, hopefully you will not have a need for this but I know that I will be purchasing one the next time I decide to stay in a hotel. I will forever remember this incident and I hope that the police are able to capture this guy so that it never happens to anyone, ever again!!!!! read more

It's been a while since I stayed at the Ramkota and typically stay at hotels on the north side of Bismarck, but was in town for doc appt and shopping with my kid so decided to stay closer to mall (the Ramkota is across the street from the mall). Check in was simple, personnel were courteous. We parked the car, unloaded our things and walked through "Door 3" and remembered one of the reasons why I don't stay here: it stinks. It smells like mold and aged cigarette smoke. Room was no different. Bedding is old and very thin, which elicits thoughts of whether the sheets have even been washed. Carpet cleanliness is questionable so I opted for "shoes on," to walk around the room. Bathroom appears to have been updated recently but they must have spent all their $ on the water park and lobby improvements rather than room quality. This is one of those hotels that you think to yourself "well, it's a bed, life could be much worse," and just deal with it. read more

This place is a tear down, not even a major renovation will help cuz, well, you can't polish a turd. The staff is rude, with a special shout out to Mariah at the front desk, who was not only sullen and rude, but as lazy as they come, she had to be shamed into coming over to help us, the only customers at the desk. The food is so-so, and overpriced, but the waitstaf and the hostess (who was sitting down, with her shoes off, inspecting them for some flaw or the other when we arrived for breakfast) in the morning again get singled out for their uncaring and rude attitude. Our room wasn't the cleanest when we arrived, but it was acceptable. However, after the housekeeper "cleaned" the next day, the trash wasn't emptied, the beds weren't changed (one wasn't even made!), the tub was dirty ( because it doesn't drain, after a 10 minute shower the standing water in the tub was over my ankles) and only a few of the dirty towels were removed. Additionally, there is no recycling in the rooms, what is up with that? Not only are they a crap establishment, they don't care enough to offer us in rom recycling. The pool is WAY smaller than in the pictures, and the water slides are gross, truly in need of a good scrubbing. Our first night here there were kids shrieking and yelling out there till past midnight, evidently some high school track and field events are going on in Bismarck and the athletes decided to stay up and scream instead of sleeping. Good job coaches and parents. This morning at 10 am, the pool area was still littered with empty Mountain Dew cans and other debris those lovely children left laying around. Finally, does everything have to be brown, Ramkota? You have the fugliest brick, carpet, "art" (and I use that term loosely, very loosely), walls, bedspreads, tile, etc., for sure, but does EVERYTHING have to be shit brown. It is well and truly an overpriced dump and I urge any traveler to look elsewhere for accommodations. If if ever come back to Bismarck, highly unlikely, to be honest, but if I ever do, I will sleep in my car over choosing this run down, rudely staffed dump again. I'm sorry I had to even give it one star, it really doesn't merit even that. read more

This hotel has certainly seen better days! At one time it was one if the best hotels in town with a great and large pool area. The pool area no longer makes it worth it. This place is in serious need of maintenance and cleaning! Upon walking into our room, the large closet door was hanging by one hook. We tried to notify the front desk, but our phone didn't work, so we flagged a maid down to remove it. The floors had not been vacuumed, as there was popcorn and other debris all over the floor. The pool area has cracks all over, filthy floors, and mildew spots galore. To top it off, when we pulled our bedding back it was dirty and used! One bed had brown spots all over the pillow and hair, the other has what appeared to be bloody snot! When I called the front desk they didn't seem surprised at all when I said our sheets weren't changed. They had to find us new sheets, and only discounted our room minimally. As we were leaving, I noticed none of the maid carts appeared to have dirty linen carts by them, which may explain the dirty bedding, possibly standard practice here. There are many other clean hotel options in Bismarck, the large pool area will not save this place. Do not stay here! read more

Good location to restaurants and shopping. The pool area has nice space to gather by the rooms, away from the pool but that's about all that I could say is good about it. Our stay was one of the worst hotel stays I've ever had. No continental breakfast. Slow wifi. Heater units were loud when they kicked on. It woke us up several times during the first night there. The bathroom floor in our room had food crumbs on the floor. There was also someone's hat in one of the drawers from a previous guest so clearly they didn't check through things very well between guests. Many things were broken in the hotel, ice machine was out of order as well as some pop machines/vending machines. We rented a meeting room for a family gathering and the push bar on the door was barely attached, the corner of the wall was all banged up. In the pool area, there was the zero depth area with a frog slide for kiddos and then in the larger part there was the huge water slide that was in 3 ft deep water. Then there were two shorter straight slides that you would think would be for younger kids that aren't quite ready for the big slide and those were in 5 ft deep water! I am barely over 5 ft tall so I couldn't stand down there to catch my 5 year old. So the pool set up seemed weird to me. There are not any rules posted for the large slide usage that I saw so many kids were coming down the slide one after another, not allowing time for each one to get out of the way. I was very uncomfortable allowing my kids to swim there. read more

We had our wedding at the Ramkota in the Dakota Ballroom and worked with Alli, the catering manager. She is fantastic!! She answered every question we had and did everything she could to give us what we wanted. Our food was phenomenal and we received lots of compliments on it.
