Been coming here regularly for the past year to pick up video games with no issue. Today, the shop…read moreowner was having a loud conversation with a customer about killing Iranians and how Islam is akin to devil worship, which was pretty off-putting but whatever its nothing new for the area. When I went to check the price on a vintage lighter in an open display case, the owner abruptly stopped his conversation to call to me and grumpily shout "you wanna ask someone before you just start rummaging through things?!" To which I responded "my bad man, I was just checking the price." He doesnt say anything back, just glares at me for a minute while i put the lighter back in silence. It was genuinely weird as hell, especially in a store that is so cluttered you're essentially forced to "rummage through things." It was pretty clear by the continued glare that the guy didnt want me there anymore so i said have a good day and dipped. Really lame behavior from the owner, especially considering ive been hunting for the exact lighter i was holding and was about to buy it before he decided to randomly scold me like a child, but i guess he cares more about looking tough in front of his racist friends than making sales lol.

Located right next to Starbucks, in Paradise CA. Large selection of retro video games, Nintendo,…read moreSNES, Playstation and Xbox. Nostalgic items like vintage toys, action figures, boxed items as well. Toys vary 70s-00s. GI Joe, Thundercats, Marvel, some older strawberry shortcake dolls, MLP G1, freeze dried candy, plushies, and a lot of more. There is a good selection of physical media, hard to find now. I was able to get a handful of Care Bears VHS with a VCR. The one I had died, and there were two available here for purchase. I felt like it was a good deal, I got the player, three VHS, a few ice creams (haven't seen single ice creams for $1,$2 anywhere lately but they had some here), two sega games and my total was around $90 w/tax. They also had some anime stuff, but I am not too familiar with that at all. Card variations rotate in display cases, along with card room available with reservation for things like Magic or D&D. Snacks, drinks and ice cream sold here also. Neat Nintendo items for display and lots to pick from. Open Wed-Sun. Free game play also available here. Person at register nice, friendly to answering questions about some girlie sega games I was looking for and found one there too. Picture of some of the stuff I saw, and the game too.

SCAMMERS - Don't Waste Your Time…read more If you value your time, avoid Gamer's Paradise. The posted business hours don't seem to mean anything. I made the hour-long drive to visit the store, only to find it closed in the middle of the day when it was supposed to be open. After finally getting in touch with the owner on Facebook, he claimed he had to leave because of a "delivery mix-up" and said he'd be back soon. It wasn't the first time I'd heard an excuse either. After multiple trips ending the same way, it became obvious that keeping regular hours isn't a priority. A business shouldn't expect customers to guess whether it'll actually be open. The store itself also feels disorganized. Shelves are cluttered, inventory isn't labeled well, and a lot of items seem to be sitting around without any clear intention of being sold. Before making the trip, I was told over the phone that I'd receive $24 in store credit for a complete, working Nintendo console with the controller and cables. I brought in three complete systems along with games, controllers, and extra cables. The owner gave me values for each item one by one, but after everything was added together, I realized later that I had been shorted by about $20. Since I wasn't given a receipt or any written breakdown of the transaction, I had no way to verify it until I got home. Another thing that didn't sit right with me was that none of the consoles or games were tested before being accepted. Everything was simply taken behind the counter, which didn't seem very professional. Instead of honoring the $24 he'd quoted me over the phone, he only offered $15 for each Nintendo console. I noticed the difference at the time but didn't argue, which I regret. The whole reason I accepted store credit was because I wanted to buy the Xbox that had been sitting in the display case for months. As soon as I was ready to purchase it, I was told they couldn't sell it because they couldn't find the controller or power cable. If that's the case, it shouldn't have been sitting in the display case with a price tag on it. When I returned the next day hoping to exchange my credit for something else, there wasn't anything I wanted. I asked if I could simply get my trade-in items back instead. I was told they had already been mixed in with other inventory and couldn't be returned. They ended up giving me cash instead, but once again I came up about $20 short. By the end of it all, I traded in what I believe was close to $200 worth of games and consoles and only received $71. Between the inconsistent hours, misleading trade values, lack of receipts, and poor customer service, I won't be returning. I recommend taking your business somewhere else.
