Their mom was understandably reluctant to move. She had deep emotional ties to her apartment--it's where she had lived with her late husband, and leaving it felt like leaving part of him behind. Then they discovered Tuscan Gardens. From the moment they walked in, everything felt different. The staff was warm and welcoming. The community was immaculate, bright, and full of charm, with cozy nooks and inviting spaces around every corner. They spoke with residents who genuinely loved living there--and it showed. Still, the biggest test was introducing the idea to their mom. They brought her to visit... and she lit up. She loved it! The decision was made, and she moved in shortly after. Now? She's thriving. She has a big smile on her face every day. She's surrounded by friendly, caring staff in a beautiful, healthy environment. For our family, it's been a huge relief. My brother was a world-travelling executive while working and continued his travels in retirement. Changing to a care facility was a massive change in his life. My mother was transferred here and the arrival was a disaster. She was found wandering the parking lot and asking for my father (who has been dead for 31 years). Then once they got her into the unit, I was told by the nurse that she was very uncooperative about taking her meds. Why they couldn't slip it into her food or drink is beyond me. Then when I called to see how she was, both times I was connected to Deborah. She had the most miserable tone in her voice and complained about my mom packing and unpacking. I did research on this and it's very typical for Alzheimer's patients to do that when in a new place. She also said that she refused to take her meds. Why is this even an issue for someone who is supposed to be trained to take care of people with dementia? Then we were told after she had been there for only 5 days, she was going to be kicked out. We asked for help from the staff there to find her a more suitable facility. It typically takes about a month for people to get adjusted. They gave her 5 days! The director, Michelle Orlando, told us she "exhausted the search for every place in the area." My husband called 2 places the same day and we were told there was plenty of room at both. The icing on the cake was when Michelle told me "Your mother has been absolutely vile to everyone here since she arrived." This was already an emotionally draining time for me and to be told those exact words about my ailing mother told me all I needed to know. She was moved to another facility and is doing great. This is because the new facility has properly trained staff - not miserable nurses who complain about my mom and a director who couldn't even be bothered to call another facility for me. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! It's truly all top show. They entice you by showing you their facility and claiming to have properly trained staff. This is false! Good luck if your loved one comes here and experiences the anger that most dementia patients will go through. Their staff aren't trained to handle those patients. On a side note, they charged us $4400 which was fraudulent. Mom wasn't even there a month, yet they wanted to try to get over half her monthly rent on top of the $10,000 I paid them. They are truly fraudulent in their practices and what they promise people. All this while we are in an extremely vulnerable position. If this keeps one person from making the same mistake we did, I'll be happy. BTW, for those looking for memory care facility, please make sure the staff is licensed to administer alternative delivery systems such as a topical gel for benzodiazepines. This has been the saving grace at her new facility.

All personal items--jewelry, clothing, food, art, are up for grabs. Take ur eye off them and they're gone. Theft of personal items is widespread. Food is terrible, staff is very poorly trained. Avoid this place ; it's among the worst of a bad lot.
