My son came down with a fever, and my pediatrician recommended a visit to urgent care. This location is the closest to our house so we gave it a try. Once inside I learned that you can schedule an appointment in advance if needed. Registration is to be done online via a QR code. Because my need was outside of the norm, a receptionist assisted with registration. I could tell that they were new, as many mistakes were made, from entering myself in the system rather than my child, failure to ask for my insurance card, and having to repeat/enter information in several times. I appreciate the need to learn; however, at some point it would have been helpful for someone else to take over (eventually they did). Once taken back, the RN that assisted us was super kind and gentle with our son. He took the time to answer any questions that we had. The NP was kind and listened to our concerns. We were advised we would receive a follow up call, as of late (it's been 5 days) and that hasn't occurred. Overall, I was really pleased with my experience, at PM. The location is close to my home, I can make an appointment if needed, the staff are kind, the location is clean and they did a great job caring for my kid. read more

My baby boy had a rash break out and I had no idea what it was. His father took him here before and told me to take him to this urgent care vs the one close to home. This place was quiet and clean. If you have a problem with the QR code for intake the sweet young lady at the desk will assist you on her computer. I went at ten o clock at night and they had a couple of families with their little ones. They were called so fast. Our time came quickly after being admitted in the system and paying my co-pay. The staff was nice. The doctor was awesome. Compassionate, knowledgeable, gentle and understanding. I can't think of another urgent care I will take my babies. I'm glad they exist! This is absolutely unacceptable especially watching people that came after me be seen... I asked the lady at the front which place in line is my son and she said there was about 4/5 people ahead of me, HOW?!?!?!? The room had garbage on the ground and the np sucked. She barely examined my child. I had to ask her to feel my child's belly. She was talking to us in the doorway with the door open. Awful experience. When you think your sick, you would expect to get tested. The np said that it's probably the flu and prescribed tamiflu without so much as a test. We had a bad experience. We made an appointment like the website directed us to. We checked in and waited over an hour in a patient room without being seen. When we asked why we hadn't been seen, we were told "appointments don't matter ". It's not more of a priority than just walking in. I came here with my sister to get tested for COVID-19, hoping for a smooth process since my coworkers had decent experiences. They were in and out (1 hour max). Bottom line, we barely got that. Most places were booked for the day, so the main positives were that they didn't require appointments and saw patients who are under 26. As it's an urgent care, we walked in with three parties ahead of us and two others in the waiting room. There was only one front desk employee assisting patients, pointing to the electronic check-in, taking people back, and essentially ignoring phone calls. We put our personal and insurance information in the iPad and was told to wait in the car. No approximate time was given. Because we didn't receive further instructions, all we could do was sit and feel even more uncertain. We were expecting a phone call letting us know when to go back, but that never happened. A little over an hour later, we called with no answer. We went back in to see an empty place and the person who was behind us in line leaving out. The same staff member acted as if we were supposed to magically know it was our turn. When asked about our wait status, she just said "Oh, I can take you now..." She was also rude about billing. She checked us in again by asking for the same information we gave on the iPad. We also saw her intentionally redirect phone calls. Then, she took us back to get our weights. Not even our temperatures... even though we were there for suspected COVID exposure. We waited for another 30 minutes until we were seen just to self swab. The other positive was that the nurse and physician assistant were helpful and answered our questions. They told us that results would be available on their patient portal in 3-5 days, but we didn't get any guidance upon asking about it. I still have yet to receive the link to register, so guess I won't ever know my results. It was clear they were understaffed during a pandemic. Not sure how they treat younger kids, but save the uncertainty and don't waste your time at this "urgent" care. read more

5 stars. I pay attention to detail & when it comes to my child, even more. (This is in no way an AD, it's my honest opinion & I wanted other moms to know) I loved this urgent care facility because of so many different reasons but I'll start first with why I took my daughter. She had a stomach virus & she couldn't sleep with the pain & discomfort. We already tried everything at home, so I took her to the ER at around 11:00pm--southern md hospital was a hot mess and packed. We drove to greenbelt instead for my daughter to be seen about 30-45 minutes before PM was about to close! I automatically thought they'd give us the side eye. They didn't. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by All Black Women, Nurses, & Doctors. (So happy atp) We forgot masks at home and they provided them to us with no issue or attitude. It was actually extremely refreshing. I couldn't describe how I felt to just be met with great customer service, although they were about to close & probably ready to call it a night. The waiting room had 2 families waiting already, and that wasn't an issue, my daughter had fallen asleep in the car and atp I was carrying her so she wasn't crying or in pain when we arrived. Despite having two people ahead of us, we waited in the waiting area for maybe 7 minutes max. This was our first time here, so we definitely had to fill out the intake forms, but the process was so easy because everything is done on your phone !!!! LOVED THAT ! Took 2 minutes. The facility itself is EXTREMELY CLEAN, from the entrance, to the bathroom, to the rooms. (It was clean at that time of night lol, I hope it's like that all the time.) Okay last but not least, the nurse & doctor who saw my daughter we're both so nice, quick & effective. If you're a first time mom like me (or dad) you look at reviews before taking your baby somewhere for medical care. I have to say, this place was excellent. Front desk staff were nice and well mannered, when you go in there is a QR code you can scan to input your child's information to start the registration process. It was easy. My son was called back maybe 20 minutes after filling out the registration, medical assistant was very nice, as well as the doctor who answered any questions I had. I suspected that my newborn had conjunctivitis. My pediatrician was closed; however when I called her for an urgent care recommendation, she immediately recommended PM Pediatrics in Greenbelt. I had no expectations since I had never been to this urgent care, although I have been to other similar facilities. I called in advance to gauge the wait time. I was encouraged to make an appointment online to be seen with a specific timeframe in mind. I followed the receptionist's instructions and make an appointment for 7:30pm. Upon arrival, the facility was clean and bright. It was decorated with a nautical motif. The same receptionist that answered the phone when I called, greeted me and completed the administrative portion. She was super pleasant. No sooner than I was finished at the front desk, the nurse called my child's name. She even assisted me with the diaper bag and water bottle. I appreciated the hospitality and that making an appointment counted. Dr. Pepper saw my child. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He listened to my concerns before asking questions and drawing conclusions. He even gave me some other preventative tips. I was super impressed! Sick child and thank goodness for Yelp! This is a wonderful pediatric urgent care. Clean, bright waiting room and examining rooms. The staff at the front desk are pleasant, efficient and professional. When you have a sick child there is nothing more appreciated than efficiency and a seamless process. We were called back quickly, the PA was very pleasant, welcoming and spoke directly to my child asking necessary questions. Her bedside manner is one of care and concern. She gathered health information and before too long we met Dr. Chatha. Dr. Chatha was a breath of fresh air; concerned, efficient, detailed and down to earth. My child was comforted by everyone's bedside manner. Tone of voice goes a long way with a sick child. Where did this office find the best of the best? I have no idea. I do know this will be the first place I recommend to anyone seeking medical help for their child outside of an ER setting. I'm so thankful for PM Pediatrics! My 9 month old cut the inside of their mouth and unfortunately there were no same-days available at the pediatrician's office. The kid was mostly happy and didn't seem to be in any particular distress, so going to the ER seemed a little excessive. I knew they needed to get checked, and I needed the peace of mind, so I went right to PM Pediatrics to get them checked out. The waiting area was nice and roomy, and we got called back and seen very quickly. The nurses and doctor we saw were fantastic and super sweet. We were discharged and on our way in no time. However the wait time was awful, more than 2 hours to get to the room, then another half an hour until the doctor comes, and if they need to make a test another 15 min for a nurse to come . with or without an appointment. I tried both, it is just too much. yesterday my daughter was sick I was there at 6:40, we left at 9:15pm. today I took my son and daughter and I had an appointment at 6 , and left the office at 7:45, the doctor saw us for 10 minutes, the rest was just wait time. if you came here be ready to long wait hours. read more

I visited PM Pediatrics with my daughter for an ankle injury. And she was given a boot and crutches. It seemed like overkill and not necessary. I asked why all of ths was necessary and it was said that it was PM pediatrics policy to be conservative on orthotic injuries. I was also given a boatload of paperwork to fill out. The paperwork said that orthotic (boot and crutches) would come from Grace Care. No where did they tell me that Grace Care wasn't covered by my insurance plan and would be considered to be out of network. I presumed that if PM Pediatrics was in network, then Grace Care was, too. No, no such luck. $356 later, I figured out that Grace Care is not in network. I called PM Pediatrics and they said, "But, but but, we gave you paper work"! PM Pediatrics could have done a much better job explaining that this third party - Grace Care - was more than likely out of network but it did not. read more

Medical staff was great, just two COVID -19 related issues that sparked concern: -The USPS mail carrier entered the facility with no mask or mouth covering, crossing the waiting room and the path of parents and children before dropping the mail on the counter. Seemed strange to see this violation of the local law. - A child vomited in the waiting room while the mother was waiting to check in. The mother was provided with paper towels and a bedpan. In this COVID-19 era, where is has been proven that gastrointestinal distress is a symptom of the virus, shouldn't there have been cleaning protocols in place that involved disinfectant? Hoping this post helps the facility to improve their protocols to keep everyone safe while providing their service. We are all in this together! read more

First time mom and two time patient here and I have to say that this place is excellent. Either there are very few sick kids who need to be seen ASAP or people are unaware of how great this place is. We were seen less than 10 minutes after signing-in and less than 5 the second time around. The first time that we stopped by, my little one's suture site had opened up a little after 10 at night. It'd been a few weeks since his surgery and it seemed like a good idea to have the area looked at. A quick search on my insurance company's website pointed me towards this place and I am glad that it did. Everyone was so pleasant and so very suited to working with children. Their attitudes, methods of distraction and way of putting the kid at ease was perfect. The doctors explained things in just the right way. They didn't treat you like a complete idiot but also didn't expect you to have gotten your PhD in order to follow their explanations and instructions. They even called the next day to follow-up with us on the status of his health. As long as they're around I won't freak out when he spikes a fever or decides that it's a good idea to jump off of his bed between the hours of 12 pm and 12 am. read more

Despite the fact that I've made appointments, I have been made to wait for 90+ min both times. My son is sick, fussy and irritable. He just wants to go home. Just when I was dreading the possibility of going to the Emergency Room at Children's Hospital because my pediatrician was closed I remember that someone recommended PM Pediatrics to me. I arrived at the facility around 8:05pm on a Wednesday afternoon and was called in the back almost immediately. They were so efficient that I wasn't even finished checking in when I was called back. An hour later we had been seen, prescribed a prescription and sent on our way. It's also helpful that they share the parking lot with a 24 hour CVS Pharmacy. read more

Where do I even start! I was more than pleased with my recent experience here and just kicking myself that I didn't know about them sooner. After reading their excellent reviews on Google I decided to go. From the moment you walk in the door you feel like you're in good hands. The facility was just immaculate and beautifully decorated and the entire staff was just wonderful! The bathroom was even clean and to me that tells everything no matter where I go. Our nurse and the doctor took such good care of my child. I'm so glad that I now have a place to go and know my child is in good hands! We were sent by our pediatrician here because our baby had a baby had an hair tingled around his toe. All doctors and nurses were so professional, knowledgable and friendly. It is rare nowadays. We had a bad experience and our concerns were ignored when asking for my 1 year old daughter to have a simple X-ray. I feel because we are African American we were ignored when we had concerns about our daughter's health. I called in the parking lot before we left and asked again why an X-ray wasn't performed which is recorded. I'm advocating for my family and I'm not okay with my concerns being hushed and ignored. And I completed the survey of my experience and I was never greeted until like ten minutes to fifteen minutes later after waiting in the front and immediately the front desk lady was on the phone and told me to wait again. and customers were not six feet apart and I was put in danger because the receptionist asked me to move from and area designated for covid and when that happened two woman came out of the door talking over me to the receptionist. Then when I walked to be six feet apart and the two women got offended and tried to start a verbal war about covid and how even though they just took the test 2 seconds ago they don't have it. The two women also waited outside to continue verbal abuse which I ignored because again I was there for my baby and I also had my eight year old and husband outside that weren't allowed inside. At this point while this was going on the woman at the desk still hadn't checked us in because she had been talking to the women who just took the test. It was horrible service and I feel they were not concerned with our needs as patients at all so that would be a zero for the Greenbelt location out of ten. Horrible customer service. They were ready to go home because they closed at 10 pm and we got there around 9 pm and they didn't know what was wrong so they referred us to Washington DC emergency room which we chose to go to Anne Arundel emergency. My daughter is fine now thanks to Anne Arundel emergency taking the X-ray you all refused to even after I asked. All my daughter needed was the x-ray Greenbelt pm pediatrics refused to do. The emergency room took another four hours or five hours and gas to get there so not only did they cause me to loose sleep and time when one x-ray was needed. I left pm pediatrics at 10 pm we left the emergency room at 4 am so I was in bed by 5:30 am and had work at 6:45 am . I wouldn't mind that if we hadn't gone to urgent care but there job was to prevent that otherwise we could have went straight to the emergency room without also getting verbal abuse by strangers as well. At least my eight year old and 1 year old are okay while the world keeps beating me and my husband down while we are just trying to provide for them. There are so many times where my concerns are ignored because I guess African Americans are not believed when they are in pain or there children are. Would it have hurt them to take the x-ray when I asked no it would not but they just wanted to go home by 10 pm and didn't care are lives were ruined. read more

Wow - my husband and I are super impressed with this practice! We took our 3-year-old son in for croup. Every person we interacted with was super friendly, professional, patient and kind. The facility was incredibly clean and had really fun decorations. There was virtually no wait and I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff all was. My son got a Popsicle when we left, which was the icing on the cake for him! My husband and I got a printout with information on croup, including under what circumstances we should seek medical care if our son isn't improving. I can't say enough good things about this practice. It's never fun to be needing urgent care for your child, but we were beyond pleased with the care and attention. This place is fantastic! I have two toddlers and frequently need urgent care appointments for aliments ranging from minor ear infections to breathing treatments for RSV. I now forgo seeking same day treatments at my pediatrician as PM Pediatrics is easier and the quality of care is superior. Having a sick kid after 5pm or on the weekend when you aren't sure if they need to be seen is the WORST. Our toddler had a 104 fever Saturday morning so we took her in. Staff was nice and the wait wasn't too long. They assessed her and said it was a virus, and to keep her hydrated and on fever reducer. They called to check in two days later right when I had decided she got worse and encouraged us to bring her back. We came back and they saw her quickly, diagnosed her with croup and gave her an oral steroid. The staff was AMAZING, the doctor answered all my questions and quelled my anxieties. I feel very fortunate to have PM Pediatrics as an alternative to the ER. We've done the late night ER dance several times and this was much faster, much less dramatic and cheaper. TL;DR - They were able to do everything to stitch up my son's chin at least as well as Children's Hospital ER but without the headache of Children's Hospital ER. There is a reason they have an overall rating of 5 stars! My 2-year-old son fell yesterday evening and cut under his chin, and it was clear from looking at it that it would need a couple of stitches. Unfortunately, we've dealt with the same injury with his big sister before this PM Pediatrics was open, so I have a basis of comparison between the Children's ER and PM Pediatrics for dealing with the same thing. The wait here was not bad at all (it helped that it was 9pm, I'm sure). There is a way to reserve a spot in line online, which we will take advantage of next time. All the staff were professional, kind, and patient, and the whole office felt clean and bright. Dr. Suggs was my son's doctor and I believe the MA's name was Chris (male). They were kind towards me and my son. I didn't know if they would be able to give my son Versed or not (it helps to chill them out before the stitches), but they were able to do it just like the ER would. They were able to give him a topical numbing agent so no shot, which we both appreciated. I was particularly impressed with Dr. Suggs' stitching skills. Despite the Versed and the late hour making him tired, my son was not happy about getting stitched up. Chris and I were holding him as best we could, but he was still moving around quite a bit. Despite that, Dr. Suggs was able to place three even stitches on the cut. (I think she did a better job than the person who did my daughter's chin at Children's.) She then gave me two lollipops for both my kids the next day - a kind touch that showed she was really listening. I hope we don't need to use PM Pediatrics often, but I will gladly bring my kids here for any urgent needs in the future. Whenever possible, they are miles ahead of using the ER! read more

I had to take my son here for pain at 8PM. We got there, registered and was taken back right away. The doctor came in, examined my son and explained everything that he thought was the issue. He said this was an emergency and he would most likely need surgery. He placed a call to Children's hospital to let them know what was going on and that we were on our way. I got to Children's as fast as I could. When we got there, they registered my son and took him back right away. Thanks to Dr. Pepper for making the call. My son had surgery and I believe it's because of Dr. Pepper and staff making the call and seeing my son right away. 3 days later I got a call from Dr. Pepper to check on my son and see what happened. I have never had an urgent care center follow up with my child 3 days later especially after sending him to the hospital. This place is GREAT! I will return if needed. My son was having breathing issues and this place was on top of it. They took X-rays right away and gave a breathing treatment. The doctor was very concerned and we ended up going to the ER that night as a precaution. Dr. Barber called the hospital ahead of time to make sure they were aware and could get us in quickly. Excellent facility! I've taken my children here for the past several years. It's cleaned, child friendly and efficient! I take my children here more often then their pediatrician's office for sick visits because I could usually get a diagnosis without the kids missing school unnecessarily or me having to take leave from work. Most recently, my daughter injured herself on roller skates and thought she may need stitches during this COV19 Pandemic. I was extremely uncomfortable w/ us going to a medical facility. I shared my concern over the phone and they informed me how she could be seen remotely for a telehealth office visit first to determine if she needed to come in at all. We were able to meet w/ the nurse practitioner online as if we were at the facility. She examine the pics I downloaded as well as interviewing her about her accident and injury. Fortunately, we didn't have to go in for sutures because there wasn't enough skin available to catch for stitches. She told me how to treat it and we've been great every since! They continue to be a blessing to our family even during the Pandemic crisis! read more

Our youngest (2.5 yo) developed a rash around his hairline over the weekend. We were alarmed initially because this sort of rash with some other symptoms he had suggested he might have measles - yikes. Being a Sunday evening, we weren't sure what to do, especially because he was due to return to daycare the next morning and we didn't want to bring him if he was contagious. After speaking with our pediatrician over the phone, she suggested bringing him to PM Pediatrics. Happily, the care facility is open until midnight every night, so we were able to go at 7pm that night, and without an appointment. When we arrived, we were the only ones there, so we were able to get in and out in no time. The receptionist, nurse, and doctor (Dr. Mathison) were all very nice. Happily, our boy's rash is superficial only, not contagious, and we were able to get a note testifying to that fact so we could bring him to daycare without concern. Overall, a very good experience. Highly recommended. P.S. Dr. Mathison let us know they not only treat illnesses but also injuries (broken bones, stitches, etc.). Hopefully we won't need such services any time soon, but it's good to know there is a pediatric facility so equipped, as it is a far more desirable experience than going to a hospital ER. read more

I learned about PM Pediatrics through a Hyattsville-based moms' listserv, and had filed them away in the back of my mind for my next after-hours urgent care need for my kiddo. Last Sunday afternoon, he ran a sudden high fever and had a very sore throat. I took him over, and there was zero wait. The place was spotlessly clean and nicely appointed (pleasing decor, TVs not only in the waiting room but also in exam rooms, etc.). Everyone from the reception staff to the nurses to the doctor was incredibly pleasant, helpful, and genuine. They did a rapid culture, dxed him with strep, and gave him his first dose of antibiotics right on the spot. They also made arrangements to send the results of the visit over to our regular ped the next day. The doc was unhurried and very gentle, kind, and respectful with my son. He explained everything, and even gave us an overview of recent studies on strep, etc. He also mentioned that PM Pediatrics is a full-service ER for kids--they can apparently do stitches, xrays, etc. as well, which is great to know, because it would certainly be better to go here than to languish in a local ER. We love our regular pediatrician for regular visits, but it is great to have PM Pediatrics for after hours urgent needs. read more
