Second strike for PNC Bank at Woodmore Town Center. First strike, about six months ago, one of the managers gave me incorrect information about my bank that seriously affected my bank account. I let that go. Yesterday i tried to deposit a fourth over the counter check which needed more clarification (similar amount different check). The teller suggested that i wait until today to deposit so we could differentiate the check. No problem for me. I went into PNC today to deposit the check...immediately a new teller questioned where i got the check. (They didn't do that yesterday) And then the teller had to call the person that issued the check to make sure the had given me the check. I have been at PNC for over five years and had enough in the account to cover the soon to be deposited check. (12/31) It took at least 20 min...why? I dont suggest banking at PNC unless you are a large business. They may cater to folk with larger incomes and bank accounts. Use a credit union!!! read more

This is review is specific to how PNC handles mortgages. My mortgage was initially through another company but was sold to PNC which seems like standard practice the mortgage industry. I have no complaints about the initial mortgage company, but I do have complaints on how PNC is exploiting my unfortunate life event. Legally, I need to remove another person from the existing mortgage and I qualify for a loan assumption. There were no issues on the loan assumption pre-approval given my income and no other debts and proceeded with the formal approval and loan assumption. That was 6 months ago and it there isn't an end in sight. Throughout the past 6 months, PNC has asked for additional documentation, which I supplied, and went back on their word on the loan assumption requirements. Each iteration of additional documentation would take weeks for PNC to review and respond. What prompted this review is that PNC is pulling multiple hard credit inquiries which is impacting my credit score and ability to secure a mortgage through other options. They already have all the possible financial documentation I have and are no longer asking for consent prior to hard credit inquiries. It seems PNC does not want me to assume the loan because they could make more money off me if I'm forced to refinance. The additional hard inquiries would then be justification for an increased interest rate when I have to shift from an assumption to a refinance. read more

14 years have an account ,mortgage and prepaid card from 2010,never been late and still haven't got a credit card and I have AMEX GOLD and many other ,they know if I close this card my credit scor will drop bc longest card I ever had. I've been a customer of BVA Bank, my Banker Paul is excellent. When PNC Bank took over to replace BVA, I've struggled with external transfer's inorder to pay on my credit cards. It takes way to long to get the funds into my PNC #Bank account, it's a 2-step process now. I use to be able to transfer money from an outside bank & pay on my credit cards, now I'm forced to wait for funds to go through 1) do an external transfer to my PNC checking account first, then do a 2) 2nd transfer to my individual credit cards, causing my to pay more interest. I'm not a #wealthy woman, just trying to pay on my #Creditcards like everyother person during these times. Why make it more difficult for their #Customer's?? It's a Hassel to use #PNC and takes too long to pay extra payments on my cards, outside of my bill pay amounts. Did you know PNC will penalize you if you attempt to close your escrow account with them? I've spent over a month now trying to close my escrow and after jumping through all their hoops they decided to add a closing fee of $873 for me to close my escrow. Outrageous. They won't help their customers lower their mortgage payments by letting them handle their own Escrow. No other bank does this. read more

RE: Bill Pay through PNC I love the staff at PNC. Very friendly and helpful. However, I have used "Bill Pay" for the last time. I have a confirmation of payment, which was never received. I needed help, so I called my branch. Sadly, their hands are tied and I need to call the "Bill Pay" dept. I reach a man, who said he would forward me to the person that can assist me. As of now I have been on hold for 28 minutes and 17 seconds. I am a busy person and do not have time for this. IF I could simply cancel the payment, I would pay by another method, but that is impossible, without the "Bill Pay" departments assistance! I do not recommend using this service! read more

We were customers of BBVA (personal, business, loans, credit cards, etc.) and we ended up taking our accounts to another bank because since PNC took over it's been chaos. Their customer service is deplorable and after months of going back and forth they simply gave up on our complaint and now we end up with outrageous unjustified charges. Worst banking experience ever. Don't expect the BBB to help resolve your complaints. PNC isn't even accredited by the BBB so it's a waste of your time. My recent experience excluded, I actually always recommended PNC to anyone asking where they should consider opening an account. I was the victim of a scam artist in November and I immediately recognized it & contacted the bank when I realized it had happened. They seemed eager to help but I detected an air of suspicion in the voice of the agent assisting me. Long story short, after filing a fraud claim and having the bank find in my favor, I was reimbursed the amount which had been stolen from my account. Fast forward three weeks and with no warning, no notification and a very vague reason, they closed my account, leaving items in limbo and making it impossible to get any answers as to why. I mostly use mobile or online banking for my transactions. However, I had to write a check to my title company, which was returned due to an irregular signature. I was told to visit the branch to resolve the issue, and the branch updated my signature after ID verification. But unfortunately, the check was returned twice more after that. This continued until the bank finally issued a cashier's check, but I lost out on a major transaction that ended up costing me thousands of dollars. Very unhappy customer. read more

Let me start by saying that I have been a PNC customer (formerly Bank of Delaware) since 1986. We have had several accounts with PNC including checking, savings and business accounts. There have been many times when dealing with them I have wanted to close my accounts and move on, but never did. Today was the breaking point. After multiple trips to my local branch to prove my identity for a new business line of credit for which they have the business checking account. They now need further verification. (I've already provided my license, ss card and bank statements in a visit to the branch last week, not to mention I've been a customer for 37 YEARS!) PNC phone employees always have the same "we don't care who you are or how long you've been a customer" attitude. What happened to the days of banking loyalty and personal relationships?? These folks do not seem to know the meaning of "service". i moved in a good chunk of money to use their payment service. i found the service unusable [eTrade and Discover are my other experiences]. i just tried to move $1K less of those funds back to their source. PNC refused because it was over some limit they set. I recently opened a business account for a small nonprofit. We presented all paperwork and information to Ashburn, VA, PNC Bank, and were told all was good and the account was opened. Since then, three and half months later, they have reached out in writing with a letter that states that our account will be closed. No reasons were provided in the letter, and then calling and trying to get help was a waste of time; all they did was to refer me to a bank branch. Absolute worst customer service from a bank. I've had a dispute that has lasted 10 months. I get a new agent ever time and have to explain the situation. You can never speak to them directly and they always tell you to leave a message. This company's customer service is horrible. They do not care about their customers. I had a car loan that was sold to this company, everything was great until they took over. They repo my car the same day I made a $2k payment. Another time a $481.91 payment just went missing. How is that possible? Lastly they repo my car and told me I needed to pay $5k to get my car back because it was a mature loan. I called the repo department and Jocelyn was so rude. I asked her if I could speak to someone else and she told me you're going to waste your time. How do you tell a customer you're going to waste your time speaking to someone else. No care in the world for the customer. I called 3 other times and I got the same attitude rude and nasty. After a day of final getting the money together I called again to because I wasn't informed that the company they work with to repo the cars " bpautorecovery" you need to make an appt to get your car back. Took over my investment account. They bought out my bank. First year everything was ok. Then they started charging me fees to handle my investment. Their investment dept. is a joke. Typical bank though, sky high fees and unreal charges on trades. No one with any sense uses their investment services. TD Schwab are free trades and have excellent research tools. I find that PNC doesn't care about its customers, only their bottom line. I have a home equity credit line of credit and tried to transfer funds to my external checking account. Although they allow external accts to be listed and imply that it can be done, they do not allow transfer to ext. accounts. I called their customer service and was given the royal run around. Had to speak to 3 people in order to get one that knew what they were doing. This is after having a big hassle trying to get to a representative through their totally frustrating phone system. I am thinking about severing my relationship with PNC and recommend that you avoid them at all costs. read more

i opened a high-yield online savings account on 6/30/2023. I tried to fund the account on July 1. Online system put the deposit on hold. Called the 800 number. Customer support staff are hard to understand and poorly trained. They can't do much of anything. Not sure why they answer the phone. 1. first informed me i had to wait 5 business days to make a deposit. 2. called after 6 days to remove hold. told there was not hold. Showed them the hold. After I showed her how to pull up the hold online. she said initial deposits are put on hold for 5 days and read me the PNCbank policy over the phone. I pointed out again it has been 8 business days She said Oh I'll have to transfer you . She transferred me to the same number I called! I closed my account today 7/12/2023. Had an issue with fees being deducted from my savings account with PNC bank in South Lyon. Manager told me there was nothing that could be done as all fees are generated by a computer. A regular Savings account needs only $300 to avoid fees, but a money market savings which netted me a whopping .16 in interest charged me $12 a month for not meeting a $5000. 00 minimum balance. Had that been brought to my attention upon opening the account I would have made that common sense decision. DO NOT BANK WITH THEM Unless you are good with paying unnecessary fees. read more

Now, I am in a difficult interim, not late on bills...a previous balance transfer offer I had with PNC had been fully paid and on time. Now, they sent me another balance transfer offer that said "pre-approved". So I called in because could use it right now. What do they do after I called and spent time on the phone signing up?! I gave this bank a bad review the other day because it was so frustrating trying to wire money from them to my local bank. But, after trying it 4 times, with their help, we finally got it to go. And, then I found out I had screwed up the routing number for where it was supposed to go. So, today, I called them back, and we were able to get it to go through to the correct bank this time, and it went through the first time. We rolled over an IRA and told them multiple times its not a cash out but a roll over. I tried to contact them via their toll-free customer service and requested to speak with a Supervisor because my issue was complex and the CSR who answered the phone could not assist. Instead of being transferred, she wanted to argue that I couldn't speak with anyone above her. When she finally agreed to transfer me to someone's voicemail, it was a general mailbox that required a passcode (which I did not have)???? Called back - almost the same experience BUT this CSR said her Manager was out of the office for an emergency so she could not transfer me to speak with anyone else unless I was willing to tell her the purpose of my call. PNC bank claimed to have not received our May mortgage payment. No changes had been made to our account information and there were no issues with any other payments. They charged us late fees and continually sent letters in the mail that we did not pay. We provided proof of payment, statements, and even had a conference call with our bank and PNC to prove that the funds had left our account and were not returned. After over 2 months of calls, emails, etc. they FINALLY found the error and they were 100% at fault for losing our money. The reasoning she gave didn't even make sense. I truly think they were trying to scam us out of another mortgage payment. Also they refuse to make up for the HOURS that I spent on this issue that was their fault. I've had a checking account with PNC for over a decade. Someone got my debit card information and PNC notified me when they attempted to make a purchase. We cancelled the card and all was well...for about 3 hours. Then that person used Zelle to transfer all of the money in my checking out to someone named Melissa Etienne, presumably a fake name. It's been a little over a week and PNC, a MASSIVE FINANCIAL INSTITUTION I've been a customer with for years, will not provide a provisional credit. I understand there are standard practices but this is insane. Especially since their partnership with Zelle appears to be the origin of the issue. Every agent I've interacted has basically said "Yep. This is insane. Sorry I can't do a single thing about it! Ah, well!" I can't express enough how upset I am about this. I was physically in Virginia while these transactions took place in California. Honestly, since the moment I had no choice to have them since they merged with BBVA Compass, they have been a complete nightmare. Sure, I could change banks but let's be honest, that's a pain in the butt! I was recently a victim of fraud and absolutely livid that PNC couldn't catch on that charges were made in AZ and then immediately in TX. BBVA would have and did when I was a victim of fraud with them. So I can PNC and was quickly told there is nothing I can do until it moves from pending to posted. I'm trying to avoid it posting because they weren't my charges. So I took it upon myself to call these retailers and two out of the 3 of them took the charges off. So 5 out of the 6 charges gone! Great! However, this last one has been pending for a week and still can't do anything. Oh and on top of that they charged me $7.50 for a card replacement as if I lost my card! I went into the branch to link my accounts as informed to do so by the customer service rep over the phone. The individual in the branch was unable to locate one of my accounts, therefore, I had to go home and find the account numbers. When I returned, the problem was corrected after showing proof of the account. I then needed to make a deposit into my checking account which went smoothly. My second transaction is not going smoothly. I wrote a check from my business line of credit and was informed by the teller that she needed to speak with her manager because she had never cashed a business check from a business line of credit. I've now been waiting for 40 minuets while she talks on the phone, help the other teller, etc, without informing me of where she's at in the process with my transaction. I never had to go through this with BBVA. They have a line out the door and 3 people sitting in offices, 2 who are having personal conversations with one another about applying for an assistant manager position. This is the worst bank of all times. No matter if you do all the work and provide proof of everything, all claims are denied with no reason. I have called more than 10 times about issues with my account and all I get is I don't work on that department, I am u sure of how that works, I can have someone call you back or I can give you the number. All the responses has equaled me losing out over $1500 from unauthorized transactions and over $400 in NSF fees. I feel this is not a bank but a scam company that finds ways to siphon money from people. I have only kept the account open this long because I am still trying to fight almost a year old transaction that PNC won't help with. Their customer service call center is full of I just clocked in for a check and not to do my job people. Hopefully this helps others not waste their time or money.
