We arrived mid-day, during the week, to an empty brewery, and were very warmly welcomed by amazing staff- the bartender spent a great deal of time with us, allowing samples & talking beer, to ensure we found our ideal pours. She even gave us some 'off list' brews from a can she had opened for herself haha-so we could experience a wider range- and oh boy glad she did because I instantly added the off-list brew to my to-go cart! Overall, we sampled a number of the IPAs & dark beers (schwarz & porters)- drank 4 beers off draft, took 2 packs home- all had high star ratings based on their unique distinguishable flavors. Heavy Handed (creamy dreamy delicious w.heavy backend 4star) Weapons Free (creamy haze; hop cloud 4star) Druid Fluid (dried fruit citra haze pop 3.5star) Wizard Dreams (creamy, but not enough pop flavor 3star) Tad Nugent (perfect hazy floral nose, creamy hops 4star) Coal Train (subtle chocolate richness 4star) Ludicrous Speed (dark coffee chocolate nibs roasted 3.5star) Boof Stroke (impressive delicious citra for how light-boldest flavor profile 5star) Hanging out on the patio picnic table area to relax it was a great night out- really appreciated the venue, wished we lived closer to re-stock up- definitely going to have to keep an ear out for when we know people visiting and put in to-go requests haha!

The drive is beautiful, especially on a sunny day in the fall. The leaves are incredible. As you're driving winding roads along Wills Creek, Hillbilly Haven pops out of nowhere. You'll see plenty of pick-up trucks, four-wheelers and side-by-sides. What you get: is an absolutely quintessential dark, country, dive bar. Beloved by locals, they have pool tables, a small live music and dance area inside and a really nice outside area in the back. You'll meet some of the nicest people. Just remember-it is a local country bar and when in Rome... Here's the big draw-oh my goodness, the food! People come from miles away to get take-out. The wings are perfectly seasoned no matter the sauce/rub, juicy but crisp. The Hillbilly Deluxe burger puts a Big Mac to shame. He then gave it to her and she took it then proceeded to take it into the back, COMPLETELY bent it in half and CREASE it. He didn't say anything he doesn't care to argue about it. But I do:)) So I went and asked if she bent it she lied and told me no, to which I corrected her and told her we know she did (his id is brand new and it says it on there). Her reason is "PA IDs don't bend" I said i understand but this isn't a Pa id and informed her of the 3 main ways to know it is real also told her to make a google search. She refused to check it again and said she didn't need to serve him. (Which I know is true) At the end of the day you do not do this to someone's GOVERNMENT documents‍ mind u the owner was right there the whole time and both of them tried to tell me no one bent it and grab it out of my hands I was showing them. Enter... HONI HONI!!! On the weekends there is always live music or some event planned, and the space is lively and the decor is spot on. It has the feel of somewhere Jimmy Buffet might have hung out in his earlier days, and the people are more than happy to let themselves be swallowed by the atmosphere. We were lucky enough to be there during the patio season where we sat just inside the open window doors to the music. I will caution the one downside to Honi is they do not serve food. You have to order from UNO (the pizza chain) across the patio and go pick it up. No harm, no foul, we knew that before we arrived. If that is gonna ruin your trip or time at Honi - probably best to stay home. However, if you can get over that one little wrinkle it is a MUST during your visit.
