Our party of 5 was seated immediately and our orders were taken but we ended up waiting 45 minutes for our food. Our party ordered the shepherds pie, the blackened chicken sandwich, the oven roasted herb chicken, the salmon and the wedge salad. Everyone's food was delicious and the shepherds pie was mentioned as being excellent. When it was time for dessert, I wanted to order the affogatto but their espresso machine wasn't working so we skipped dessert. We had a great dinner here with Hannah as our server. The place itself is upscale but cozy/comfortable without feeling overly stuffy. The view of the lake is great if you go when there is still daylight. Hannah took great care of us. All of our food was fantastic as well. We started with the garlic shrimp which were very tasty as well as the fried pickles which were quite good. The chicken pasta and salad were incredible, and others in our party enjoyed their chicken sandwich and burger. Lastly the creme brulee was great and a nice touch to celebrate my friend's birthday. Really good cocktails! Great place for lunch. There's a dock so you can easily boat up to it. More casual than some of the other boat in dining options on the lake. Their patio is not pet friendly (our rental agency gave us a dog friendly restaurant recommendation list that included Aces, but it wasn't accurate. We started with the cheese curds as an appetizer and were not disappointed. The sauce they come with has a little spice and tastes really good. My husband had the burger and enjoyed it but wasn't standout. I ordered the beet salad and added salmon. My meal was SO good and I'm weird about seafood sometimes but the salmon was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. The location is great. We stayed at Will o the Wisp, and so didn't need to leave the building to get to the pub. I had a delicious warm beat salad with goat cheese and a delicious bowl of vegetable chowder. My nephew had the beef stew, which he said was excellent. Our waitress was great. We sat in the dining room, which has amazing floor to ceiling windows facing the lake. Highly recommended- although I wouldn't have ordered an entree because the prices were too high. read more

September 2024: Took family from Chicago here & they proclaimed tonight's dinner as best of the week. The roasted chicken & maple glazed carrots & roasted redskin potatoes were excellent. So much good 3 of 4 of us took home leftovers. That was a lot of chicken! The shepherd's pie is made with brisket, sirloin & short rib & was very good. The view was nice and the food was good (not exceptional). Our biggest issue: We went at 8 PM and they wouldn't take a reservation for a group after 6 (even asked the manager) and we found this odd especially for a big celebration. They said we would have to come in person to put our name on a list. This felt odd for a restaurant. The shrimp appetizer was overcooked. They likely reheated the shrimp which caused this. The two cocktails we ordered came in cans not glasses. We assumed they were made behind the bar since they were labeled as cocktails. GF cornbread was a little dry and the honey butter on top was small dollop - could have used more. All the portions were huge. Pork chops were good, Shepherds Pie was delicious, Salmon was average, and Reuben was average. Scallops on rice was salty! View was nice but not directly on water - a few trees in the way and on a hill. All in all would return but there are some better restaurants. read more

What a gem. The patio space was ample and clean. The views were clear and lovely. The menu was very accessible with many salads, sandwiches and inventive entrees. The portions are huge. I had the small beet salad and my husband had the wedge salad - both were absolutely delicious and a perfect appetizer before our main course. I had the teriyaki bean burger and freshly made potato chips for my entree and my husband had the scallop entree. The teriyaki bean burger was flavored well and was huge! I ended up eating only the bottom of the bun and used a knife and fork to eat it. The potato chips were crisp and salted perfectly. My husband's scallops were served over a nicely flavored rice and veggie mixture. The only drawback of the rice were the snow peas - really tough and inedible. Unfortunately we had no room for dessert! The service was efficient and unobtrusive. One thing I think Ace's restaurant needs to address is the signage. We stopped at the first sign we saw that said "Wait here for Service". We soon figured out that the sign was for the bar! Through the bar was a second "Wait here for Service" and that was for the restaurant. On our way out there was a long line waiting at the first service sign - I pointed out loud that restaurant service station was across the bar - and the line moved to the second station for restaurant service. read more

Came here yesterday with a group of 7. We didn't need reservations but it was a Tuesday night. We would have preferred to sit outside to get the water view but the only two tables available were not together. They had plenty of great indoor seating which was nice too. Everyone was happy with their meals, even with a difficult to satisfy group. The service was great, as was the food. Kids ate mini sliders, Mac and Cheese, chicken tenders. I had the Blackened Pork Chop (excellent), husband had Shepherd's Pie (could have used a little more gravy but still good), adult friends had plain burger and crab cake entree. We also had the pretzel crab dip. It was very good too but beware that the crab dip is served on top of the pretzel, not a separate dip. This was a really nice dinner experience with the girls on our relax and reflect retreat. The ambiance was chill, I wish there was a bit more of a dress up feel. With the price of everything and the excellent service, you would think it's a fancy restaurant but most people dressed down. I ordered the Mellon bucks, it was a little sweet but went well with the vodka. I started with the soup of the day - lamb chops and y'all it was so good! Just enough savory and potatoes with carrots. It was my fave part of my meal. Then had the seafood sauté with a Caesar salad. It came out as pasta in a drunken noodles style. It was really good with the tomatoes and spinach. Creamy for sure! We also celebrated my friends birthday early, they served her a crème brûlée with a candle. Our waitress was really nice, I didn't catch her name but she was at least 5'3 - 5'4 with blonde hair and glasses. My friends and I ordered separate orders of food to go. The Ace Burger was amazing--huge portion, excellent flavor, cooked slightly pinker than well done, and with the correct toppings. The meal was finished with a side of fresh/homemade kettle chips, which I always appreciate over the bagged kinds. My chicken sandwich was delicious and the slab of chicken was twice as big as the bun so I essentially had two sandwiches. The roasted garlic aioli made my mouth water even before I had ordered. I even ordered an extra side of the aioli because I knew it would be amazing. Bot entrees were superb. We had poor cell service where we were so I thought web ordering would be easier and not hog up their phone lines. However, the website was super-glitchy and wouldn't let me check out with the items I wanted (The Ace Burger and Grilled Chicken Sandwich, with some clickable modifications to both) and then kept clearing my payment info and order details. I tried two laptops, two phones, and two browsers, checking out as guest and as a registered user, and using different credit cards (I was persistent!), then ended up just phoning in my order. The person on the phone was friendly and polite. We'd definitely order from this restaurant again. Remember to tip for to-go orders, too! read more

Delicious food. Well packaged. The sea scallop appetizer is juicy and chunky. Not stingy at all. The seafood saute comes with huge shrimps, scallops, lump crab, and basil, with salad on the side. This is a very pleasant lakeside restaurant. We came here for takeout, and had a good experience. After taking our order and before charing our card, the waitress even went into the kitchen to ascertain the wait time (25 minutes). We came on a weekend night at 5 pm. I now have been back several times and tonight was a Monday night. I had the pork shank and it was delicious! Toot vegetables, mash potatoes, topped with onion crisps! Our party of 8 arrived around 6 pm on a Monday night without a reservation. It was a short 10 minute wait for the best seat in the house-the corner booth. We had a great view of the lake. We ordered: crab sandwich, BBQ burger, 2 pork chop meals, warm beet salad, pasta with crab balls, and 2 kids menus (chicken tenders). Everyone loved their food. The highlights were the pork chop, the crab sandwich, and the maple balsamic dressing on the salad. The kids meals included a sundae for dessert which was so nice. The indoor area was still very nice with a great view. Despite not being very busy, the service was pretty slow. They have a nice drink menu. Everyone I was with really liked their food, I had the "Catch This" sandwich which was great. Of note, they make all their dressings in house which was a nice touch, the ranch was fantastic. If a tourist staying a the attached hotel, it makes for a great view/bar in the summer or winter. Probably the thing that makes Ace's a great magnet is that you can dock your boat and walk up to the restaurant for lunch or dinner. TIPS: I recommend keeping your party less than 6 or so. The prime rib sandwich was cold and grey. It looked like it had been microwaved just long enough to have the cheese melted over the top then was left to cool. Kid's chicken tenders were 2 small tenders served in a bowl (?) and a little single serve plastic cup of apple sauce. The kids menu items do come with a sundae which was nice. My wife did not enjoy the shepherds pie. It is listed as 3 types of quality meat, but she said it all looked and tasted like ground beef. The duck wontons were crispy on the outside and hot on the inside, but it was just corn, carrot, and some cubed meat in a white sauce. Passed as a high quality hot-pocket. The meal took a really long time. We got and ate the appetizer before even ordering the entrees. I don't blame the server. She was nice and seemed to be the only one working several tables. Still, it took over 2 hours to have a simple dinner for 3. The bill for what I would call a C- meal was close to $100. It left all of us disappointed and my daughter still hungry after her 2 chicken tenders. Some of the seating has a nice view of the lake. The tables were pretty close together, so don't expect to have any kind of privacy in conversation. I would give 2.5 stars if I could, but I can't, and I don't feel out of line by rounding down. read more

It was light with a subtle strawberry finish. Very good! On to the cheese curd app. The seasoned breading and dipping sauce made these some of the best curds I've ever had. My entree was the prime rib knucklehead sandwich. It was very good. The prime rib was plentiful, but average. The melted cheese and horseradish sauce really made it a winning sandwich. A bit of a harder roll is recommended as the bottom fell out and I had to finish with a knife and fork. Be aware that fries are an up charge. Dessert was the banana Nutella bread pudding. I love a good bread pudding and this one was good. A bit heavy on the Nutella, but it did not stop me from eating it all. You won't get out cheaply, but the quality and service were worth it. read more
