Black beans and rice and fries
    Anthony G.

First impression, Poco Loco has an interesting atmosphere... that seems a mix of Mexican and Caribbean. This works because this is after all billed as a fusion restaurant of Mexican and Cuban. I will warn, though, for all those Cuban food lovers, it has more Mexican and Cuban. Service is excellent. Our server was attentive, conscientious, and friendly. The food was enjoyable, with certain exceptions. The chips and salsa brought to the table is standard fare at any Mexican restaurant. We ordered main courses. I ordered pork with rice and black beans and boiled yucca. The pork was well seasoned, succulent, delicious. The rice and black beans were decent, the boiled yucca was dry. My mom and brother both got the shrimp, they said something was a bit off about it. My mom did thoroughly enjoy the fried yucca, and I regret not ordering it. All in all it was a good experience and we would give them another shot.

This has become one of my favorite restaurants to go when I'm craving Mexican food and want to easily find the vegan dishes. The service is always fast and friendly! The food is always delicious and the atmosphere is fantastic! The vegan quesabirria tacos quickly became my favorite dish when they were introduced to the menu.

Great food. Smiling service. Many Vegan options, which is great! Fun atmosphere. They'll even let you practice your Spanish.

Terrible vegan dishes I would stay far away from. The rest of their menu may be better

I honestly wasn't expecting much, but I ordered the beef empanadas to start. As soon as they came out I could tell they were about to be good. *They were.* They were really good. And the sauce was the best accompaniment. I could tell they were homemade and made to order and after asking the server I was proven right. Very impressive. Now the best part, my pan con bistec. Beef was super tender & tasty. The Cuban bread was buttered and pressed. Overall excellent sandwich. It was like a Cuban grandmas pan con bistec but a little more upscale and w better ingredients. Again very impressed. Between the 5 star service (hostesses and servers were all very friendly & accommodating) the beautiful outdoor seating in a busy downtown area, or the authentic, DELICIOUS Cuban food - I highly recommend Vicentes!

So we got there and we were the only ones there, it was 4:30 in the afternoon on a Friday so not much really going on, we got seated right away. The server brought us out waters and I ordered a Havana Hurricane, it was okay but did taste a little weak and I ordered the Lobster bisque soup and the Salmon à la Parilla. The Lobster Bisque was delicious but the salmon had NO flavor at all and it came with 2 plantains, spinach and rice. The Plantains had more flavor than the whole dish. The fish tasted like it just came right out of an Aldi's package and put right into the oven, just bland, even the rice and spinach had no flavoring, all you could taste was lemon and fish, lots of lemon. The staff were really nice but the food, I couldn't do it again. Sorry it just wasn't for me and I love fish.

The bowl itself was probably 80% white rice which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. I would not order it again. It was about $16. The food was ready quickly and and the inside was really nice. If I did go back I'd get the lomo Saltado, which is what I typically get from Peruvian places, but paying $16 for 2 cups of white rice and a couple pieces of chicken wasn't worth me actively making an effort to go back. I do think they make and sell plantains but these ones were made by me. I think they were really necessary in the bowl and I'd highly recommend ordering some if you decide to get this bowl.
