Not really what I was expecting, but we needed to kill a couple hours so we stoped by the Pocono Indian Museum. It takes about thirty minutes to walk through a small informative set up of pictures and artifacts. It in some ways remind me of walking through something at a carnival. They give you a small blue tooth speaker that has someone explaining the history behind each section as you walk through. They have many knickknacks but they also have Native American art work as well on sale. There are two other sections past the store were they sale winter clothes and if you go up stairs there is a section we're they sale books about different tribes and Native American history along with the old west. The staff on hand were very nice and pleasant.

The Pocono Indian Museum in Poconos Pennsylvania is absolutely amazing. It was so amazing I went two days in a row. This museum has a 30 minute guided tour, they give you a device and it talks while you walk around and site see. It's rather short but it's very informal, I enjoyed it. Then once you exit the museum part you end up in the shop area they sell EVERYTHING Native! They have 3 floors of stuff you can buy. They have dream catchers everywhere , stones with meanings, herbal tea, inscents. Stuff for children , they also have books to educate regarding Natives. And they sell ski stuff. They sell a lot of souvenirs, and the prices are extremely reasonable , I love this place I am Native American and it was just so amazing. All ages will love this! Give this place a go. Oh yeah the museum part is only 6.00 per person well worth it ! Loraine is a worker here and she was so nice and very helpful with me finding something that wasn't in stock she went above and beyond to tell me they will mail it to me when it's in stock. I visit Pocono PA , once a year and I will make sure I come to this museum every year !

This was honestly just a random stop for us. We were on our way to check out the flea market nearby and saw a sign for the museum so we decided to check it out. From the outside it didn't look like much but when we entered we saw the amazing gift shop they had. We first were just interested in the gift/souvenir shop because they had such cool items but we also decided to give the tour a chance. The tour is self guided which some may or may not like but I absolutely loved this idea. They give you a speaker to carry around with a pre recording of someone explaining every room to you. They start a new tour about every 8 minutes so you aren't overlapping with another group and their speaker. The tour is about 30 minutes long which is another thing I really like because I can lose interest pretty fast. It cost $7 per person. I definitely recommend this place if you're ever in town!

Small and quaint musuem with self guided tour at $5 for adults and $2.50 for children. The self guided tour with a handheld audio recording was very informative, referencing the relics and lives of the Lanope tribe as well as general Native American culture with this historic building. Gift shops and other stores on premises. Definitely worth the short visit during a daytrip. I was pleased and further enlightened to more truths of the Native American culture from the experience.

His works can be seen on paperback covers, in comic books, album covers and posters. He has worked with Presidents and the Hollywood elite. The museum is run by his son Frank Frazetta Jr and Frank Jr's family. The tour was given by Laura, Frank Sr's daughter in law. His grandchildren work the gift shop counter. The grounds surrounding the museum are private property where Frank lived with his wife, Eleanor. As far as museum experiences go, this was one of my absolute favorites! Having the family telling the history of his life and works was an added bonus you rarely get. As Laura was speaking of her father in law, you got a sense of his humility and love for his family. What a gem, located in the picturesque Pocono Mountain area! Stop by, you won't be disappointed.

It's now owned by a historical society and largely volunteer run. This is the kind of place that several generations of locals come to volunteer. If I lived nearby, I'd gladly volunteer and would love to lead a tour:-) The farm is quaint, cozy and affordable. It was $12 for adults for their 1.5 hour+ tour and Christmas presentation. $6 for children under 12. The crackling fire wood, the wet leaves crunching under your feet, and the friendly, welcome of the volunteers, who are excellent and clearly love this place, all made my experience five star. This historic farm is two hours from NYC, but worlds away, in a good way. I did a day trip but nearby affordable hotels abound. At the end of the tour, we were lead to their dining room, with a choice of hot cocoa or hot apple cider and two surprise (mine were snickerdoodle and molasses) cookies or a homemade Bavarian style pretzel. Free parking and I learned about the events they offer including farm to table in the summer and spooky nights during Halloween, to name a few. They cook with all the vegetables they grow and serve them at an outdoor meal. Check them out with your friends and family. You'll be glad you did.

The Museum is housed in the original school along with authentic desks, books, and photos of the children that attended class there. You can set in a desk from the early 1900's to watch the short film about the history of the Delaware Water Gap. The film depicts the town as it looked 100 years ago. It also had a photo of Fred Astaire, which was a local resident. It is hard to believe, looking at the way the town is now, but this area was the second largest resort town in the country in the 19th century. Of all the grand hotels that were once here, only two are standing. Among the artifacts at the museum are dishes, arrow heads, old photos, and many other old interesting things. There are also photos of the town when it was under water. The last time it was under water was in 2006. The Water Gap has been under water a few times during this century and each time the town does rebuild. When I was at the museum, a lady came in and introduced herself to the guide as a teacher that taught in this building years ago. She did not say how many years....but it was a long time ago. Wow...what a treat to actually meet a person who taught in this school house. The first floor is an art gallery. The art on display was from local artist and was priced very reasonable. This Museum is a must see if you are in the area of Delaware Water Gap.
