My fiancé and I visited Von Thun Farms for the Tulip Festival, and it was such a beautiful experience! The colorful tulip fields were absolutely stunning and made for the perfect spring day. The staff was incredibly friendly and even offered to take pictures for us, which we really appreciated. There was also a small farm area with sheep and chickens that was fun to visit, and several food trucks with plenty of tasty options. The farm was well organized, clean, and full of great photo opportunities. We also noticed they have other seasonal events throughout the year, like strawberry and blueberry picking, which gives us another reason to come back. We had an amazing time and highly recommend a visit. We can't wait to return for one of their upcoming events! read more

Our first visit was not good. Prior to our visit, we called and spoke with a woman, possibly the owner/manager inquiring about a Blueberry Crumble Pie . After some back and forth, my wife and I were told that they would have some for us since we were an hour away. Imagine the disappointment once we got there and was handed a frozen Blueberry Crumb . We decided since that was not what we were expecting, we didn't buy it. This owner shrugged her shoulders with a 'no big deal' and walked away. When you treat customers with such contempt and disrespect, we will never return again So a fair warning to others. To this farm you are viewed as a cash transaction and nothing else. Huge farm, lots to do and would probably be beyond busy on the special occasion, festivity days during peak picking times. We ended up visiting this Von Thun location (the other being in South Brunswick) on a super soggy, wet June day just as strawberry picking season was coming to a close and even though the weather wasn't ideal, our family STILL really enjoyed our time here. There were probably only 20-30 other people here at most, but it felt even less considering how large the grounds are here. The lack of folks definitely had to do with the weather as it rained most of the day, but when we arrived the rain had just stopped, so it worked out PERFECTLY. Since it did rain, unfortunately, the farm was a mud slop of a trail and our shoes/sneakers were drenched after picking, but it was great in that there was BARELLLLY anyone here so we had our pick of the farm and didn't have much competition in picking strawberries. Even though the conditions weren't ideal, we picked a massssssive, overflowing bucket of super beautiful and fresh strawberries along with some raspberries too. A lot of strawberries were beat up, but once we got deeper into the strawberry area, we found tons of perfect strawberries. The farm does not allow for eating while picking, but we couldn't help but try a few of the strawberries because they were soooo fresh. AND, we observed plenty of other folks doing the same, so we definitely weren't the only ones. There was also a huge play area too on the farm that we can imagine that if it were busy would be pretty chaotic. Overall, this is a greaaat, greaat farm for picking and we hope to be back on a nice day where we can experience the full offerings of the farm. read more

We were there on the opening day of 2025 Sunflower Festival and Peach Fest, August 2, Saturday. Gorgeous 1st Day, beautiful weather. Von Thun Farms is a well maintained place with wonderful, knowledgeable, trained and well behaved staffs. You can see for yourself how the festival signage with staffs to guide you on the farm. Lots of portable toilets around the farm and well taken care off. Stunning summer flowers adorn the farm with the Sunflowers as the star of place. Lots of lovely flowers you can pick at reasonable price as well as peach , blackberries and other fruits you can pick too. If you don't like to pick you can get it at their farm market. Second time to visit and definitely not the last. We will be back before summer ends. Von Thun Farms is one of the best farm i was able to visit . A wonderful fall experience! Upon arrival it appears much smaller than meets the eye! However there is so much to do! A perfect location for kids, adult kids and families! There is something for everyone, we did their corn maze, apple picking , pumpkin patch picking, hay ride, we went through the berry picking but was told that we weren't allowed in there, they did have delicious raspberries however . There are so many activities such as pulling a tractor to test the skills and strength of the macho and strong minded. A bee nest, petting zoo, shooting range. Very insta worthy with a beautiful background of the mountains! Food is pretty decent as well from beer to burgers to waffles! Highly recommend visiting, it was about $35 per person and $25 for a lathe bag of pick your own apples. Also a beautiful sunflower field makes for cute shots! read more

Even though the sun wasn't shining today, the sunflowers were so pretty. I had fun meandering through the fields to see all the wildflowers. There are so many great photo ops. There's also a hayride! We also pickedand grabbed lunch from the food trucks, then ended with apple cider donuts. The live music and vendors made it even more fun. Be sure to stop into the market for some yummy treats and beverages. read more

We usually do these places on a weekend as a family and they're busy but we found ourselves having the place to our self basically on a Wednesday morning as a day date just us 2. It was really beautiful and lots to do. Family friendly. The staff were nice. The peach cider is a must try as are the honey lollipops. Definitely recommend! read more

A whole lot of family fun. There's a nice little shopping shopping area. Followed by farm animals. Then there's a whole section of games & fun things to do. I have to say overall it was disappointing. Three stars because the live music was a nice touch, the store was great, and we enjoyed apple picking. However they say they have "hayrides and a pumpkin patch." It's not a hayride, it's a tractor that pulls a wagon, with a bale of hay in the middle. It takes you not to a pumpkin patch, but to a field where prepicked plain pumpkins are laid out. We were hoping to be in an ACTUAL pumpkin patch, where we can pick pumpkins off a vine. Also where we can see different varieties , shapes, gourds, etc. If you have little children, there were lots of games and activities that I think they would enjoy. We were a group of 6 adults, and were in and out within an hour. I should also say it's $20 to get in per person, which comes with nothing except admission. Would not come back unfortunately. read more

A few friends of mine had visited this farm during the summer and I loved how adorable it looked in pictures, so I got my own small group together to explore the place for myself during Fall Festival weekends. In order to visit the farm, it is strongly recommended to purchase tickets ahead of time to allow for social distancing. The price for general admission is $12.99. For an additional $6, the ticket includes a bag of apples (which was actually tiny, but I managed to fit 8 apples in there). As soon as we arrived, I was excited by the super cute red barn, which housed many fruit, veggie, apple cider donuts, jam, butter, honey, and more options inside. There were orange and white pumpkins, as well as nice flowers all around the entrance. There was also a large red tractor in front of the barn, which made for some good photo opportunities. The first thing we did was apple picking. There were 2 different types of apples, but I wanted to try the apples from the restricted area because they looked soo good! However, I stayed in the sections we were allowed to be in. I picked several large apples, as well as a few small ones. They were all perfectly round, and when I tried them later, tasted delightfully crisp, sweet, and fresh. We then headed to the Sunflower Field, which I was happy to see because I didn't think they were going to have that still up. The sunflowers were lovely, very bright and happy looking. Also by the sunflower field was a pretty life sized blue butterfly, which made for nice pictures. Next, we went on a hayride to the pumpkin patch, which was quite fun and the bales of hay we sat on were much more comfortable than they looked. Along the way, we spotted many Disney character cut outs, which was very charming. There were a bunch of family friendly games, including ring toss, checkers with mini pumpkins, shooting basketball, tug of war. The one we actually tried were the pedal cars, which was great to feel like a kid again! Pony rides were available, but only for children unfortunately. There were a few other animals around for petting, but they were not that lively. Then there was the corn maze and after that, we checked out the field of colorful wildflowers. On display was a life-size pink butterfly, which was even more beautiful than the blue one. The flowers were absolutely aesthetically pleasing, shining like jewels of pink, orange, yellow, red, and deep purple. We ended our time at the farm with visiting the little market store, where I bought apple cider donuts, pumpkin butter, gourmet soap, a rice crispy treat unicorn, and blackberry cider. Mmmm! The staff was very friendly and welcoming, as well as knowledgeable about the place. I would have enjoyed it if there were more fruits (like berries) to pick, but perhaps they are all out of season. There is no hot food of any kind sold on the premises. Also, only portable potties available, which we used only once when we first arrived and at that time, they were still fairly clean. My family and I visited this location of Von Thun for their strawberry festival and had a wonderful time- plenty of fun activities for younger kids including face painting, bubbles, duck racing, bounce balls, trikes, mini golf etc. The farm had a plethora of photo opps and strawberry picking was also enjoyable. We easily were able to spend a good 4-5 hours here. Only request for improvement would be more food options and an upgrade to the hay ride, which was noticeably bumpy... which is fine, but 10x harder to enjoy with the hay piercing into your skin if you're wearing shorts or a dress. read more

I never do this. That being said....worst thing I've seen in a minute. The bee hive exhibit was full of maggots dining on the plethora of dead bees sitting in the bottom of the "hive". The petting animals were either agitated or lethargic. The feeding tube to the poor goat was clogged with old kibble covered in flies. I was going to buy some donuts and kettle corn but I can't support a farm that neglects their animals. read more

I'm on a trip out East with my girlfriend and we stopped here - so glad we did! We took the sunflower trail which was beautiful and well maintained. There is a big play area for children and families as well as berry picking fields. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Their shop sells products from the farm.
