Absolutely PERFECT! From securing reservations for the family style tour right to the very end this was an exceptional experience. Our guides Meghan, Jack and Ely made this a very memorable experience. Their professional attitude, experience knowledge and customer interaction were outstanding to say the least. They truly enjoy their work and their sincere attitude is great. They are true ambassadors for the company. After checkin you are provided with fitted life vests and then given a 15 minute safety lecture regarding raft safety and etiquette. After a 20 minute bus ride to the entry point, you enter the raft and proceed down the Lehigh River. Amazing picturesque scenery with mild rapids for the family style tour. Several areas along this 8 mile adventure they allowed swimming. water was cold (60 ish) but refreshing. At the midway point an unexpected complimentary lunch was provided consisting of Hot Dogs, PB&J sandwiches, Chips, Macaroni Salad, Fruit and drinks. Very good selection and served by another great crew. Very clean and well organized. I would highly recommend Pocono Whitewater. My second time to water raft at Lehigh River using this company. This time we tried the family pirate style adventure. This adventure is more for first timers ( as requested by our friends) and for family with kids because of the extra boat loaded with pirates who eventually splashed us buckets and guns of water . We were a large group ( about15-18 boats) on our designated time and we did not like the idle time caused by other groups. We were asked to stop at some point and wait for the rest. We did not like that Riverside bbq lunch was part of the package but instead we had it at the office location. Lastly , we did not like that bbq package. It was not the bbq we expected. It was fulfilling somehow but we specifically mentioned on our booking that we had 2 vegetarians in our group. Pbj is not enough as meal. The wait time is so long, both prior boarding the shuttle and prior rafting the boats in the river. The rafting time itself is long too. I recommend the dam release adventure for those never been here. read more

We did the family whitewater rafting experience. We got there at 1130 and came home around 530. They provide lunch halfway through the experience. There are 3 swim areas. Guides were nice. Plan to get wet from ppl throwing buckets of water at you. Rapids are pretty basic and small. Good for any age. Little pricey but overall gives you something to do for half a day! read more

To be honest, overall, the experience wasn't bad. However, my group and myself were yelled at by Trey (believe that's his name), the main instructor who gives the introduction speech before heading to the bus, and wears neon colors (wore neon pink on our trip). It was my birthday celebration 07/19 and it was also my first time Whitewater Rafting. We were all rotating positions every time we took a break and so everyone got an opportunity to be the captain And to switch sides on the raft. We were not very experienced so we ended up in the back a lot and ended up being one of the last rafts to reach a rest point. We did end up going with the 12 mile journey down the river Booked by my friend and I'm sure you could imagine how tired we were. Towards the very end of the journey My group and I were stuck on a rock as many other people did that day And Trey came up and screamed " I don't know how many times I have to tell you guys the same thing, about six times today it's ridiculous! " he must've got our raft confused with another because that was the first time he helped us that day It was mostly another guy helping us. He then proceeded to rudely instruct us how to get off the rock with an annoyed and irritated tone in his voice also while yelling, but we would have figured it out because we got stuck and unstuck A lot by this point in the trip. It is one of the instructions to not use the oar to assist in Getting off of the rocks, And that is completely understood, but I believe his demeaning and intimidating presence cause us to want to get off the rock as quickly as possible, and another member of my team ended up using the back of the oar to get off of the rock and push off. Which Trey then Tells my friend something along the lines of " I see you weren't listening to the instructions! How many times did we say not to do that and look at you doing that right now! How many times did you do that today?! You guys are in the back because you can't listen!". I had been the captain (which helps to steer and instruct at the back) at that particular moment and honestly, I just really needed a break because my arms were hurting we may have been already 9 miles in. He then proceeded to berate me about how poor I was doing as a captain and yelling at me with the same aggravated tone about how the oar needs to be IN THE WATER , IN THE WATER IN THE WATER! YOURE NOT LISTENING!! At that point I'd had enough of his yelling at us for 5 minutes straight and I told him to leave me alone. He then argued back with me and verbatim said "I DONT KNOW WHO YOU THINK YOU ARE BUT YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING!!!" Then said he was hounding me like this for my "safety" . I really just needed a break and the waters were pretty calm in that area so there wasn't an urgent need to steer and seemed like a great spot to take it easy. At that point, my group and I were happy that we even made it that far and the trip was almost done and we were all tired, just for him to sort of ruin the end of the trip. We know that the people who work there are professional or close to it And are able to help us best, but talking down on your guests and people that pay good money for this (80 per person x 7 people in our party) is not the way to do it. Maybe some staff training is necessary to remind those who work there to have some grace. I really can say that the woman who was the " Mother duck" was fantastic and mostly the other Instructors were great. It was a little hard to receive a rude talking down to when the trip was almost finished and we felt like we accomplished something for the first time. We received and took instruction from many others that day with no problem so it's not about anything else other than the fact that he presented himself in an unprofessional manner and didn't only provide instruction but made us feel extremely uncomfortable, sad, and upset by the end of the trip. Did the family Whitewater "adventure" trip this weekend. This is a good trip if you want to rent $6 squirt guns and splash 80 of your closest friends with water while floating in a raft down the still river, and making very frequent stops. The company cut the trip short because of the water levels being low upriver. Although we had lots of conversations before booking this was not communicated to us on the phone beforehand. As a result the trip ended up much shorter: from 4 - 5 hours to 2-3 hours. And If they actually let you paddle, we could have finished the entire trip in 1. The guides would do better just to leave you alone. The large group size was not enjoyable either. Would recommend passing on this company and excursion. read more

BUYER BEWARE. This is not white water rafting. This is called pay $60+ a person to sit in a dingy inflatable raft and paddle down a large river WITHOUT RAPIDS. If I wanted to spend a couple of hours calmly meandering down a river I would have done it for free by myself. Oh and that "Barbecue" lunch they promise? Crappy stale hot dogs, mac salad, and "lemonade" which was a jug of water with two crystal light packets poured in. No vegetarian option for my grandson, told tough luck, just make urself a PBJ sandwich. Not only that but you are shuttled in a hot bus back and forth to the landing side. Jim Thorpe rafting is a lot closer and I hear they actually take you on rapids. This would be a good excursion for very small children but not for anyone who actually wanted to get in on some fun whitewater rafting. read more

This place rocks! My boyfriend (22) and I (18) did the Big Day Out and it rocked. We were worried that it would be too strenuous, as we lead sedentary lives, and it is the middle of July; however, it was a great day with a refreshing workout. The biking, about 22 miles, was very relaxing in the beginning. Towards the end, at about mile 20, it did not rock. Was pretty tough on our unseasoned legs. We persevered and got a decent lunch afterward. Overall, the bike ride was very rewarding and was definitely the most challenging part of the experience. The hike was only about 5-10 minutes steep uphill, then 15-20 down a gradual decline. Rockin view, nice hike. Raft was light work, I would not call it whitewater as the rapids were puny, but it was a very relaxing jaunt. Staff rocked. Joe Alex and Susan are the G.O.A.T.s (that means greatest of all time for all you old heads). Especially Joe. We like Joe. The whole staff at the main camp was very nice too, and the reviews saying that they are rude were most likely not cooperating or following safety procedures like LOSERS!!!! If you're wondering about the level of workout it would be, my boyfriend and I rarely work out, and overall, it was tiring, but very doable. It definitely sounds more daunting than it is. This was our third time here, on August 10, 11.15 am. We always take 2 boats because there are 8 of us. Near the river, David certainly wanted to put us all together on one big boat, when we said that we prefer to sit separately, he decided to punish us and was rude. He said: then you won't see each other on the river! He gave a boat for 4 people, made the other four wait, while calling other people from the queue, there were 4 more boats for 4 people between us. A group of four adult women, one young man, and three dogs (2 Great Danes and a medium-sized mix breed) embarked on Pocono White Water's Dogs Days of Summer event in July, and it was amazing! The crew was fantastic, down to earth, and told great dad jokes, but seriously, they saved one of our pups (a Dane) and helped him back to our boat. They also helped us off many a rocks and saved someone else's retriever puppy. Lunch was yummy, and the swimming hole spots were fun and relaxing. Hands down a great experience, and one we plan to do again next year. Highly recommend for adventurous dog lovers! I thought I reviewed this business when I was on vacation, but realized I didn't and will try now. I didn't arrange this excursion; my wife's brother's wife did. It was a pirate family whitewater trip meant for kids of all ages. My older teens had a good time but the younger age set had seemingly more fun. Wife and I liked the trip. We got there at our scheduled time, and certainly a lot of people decided to do the same excursion. It was a couple hundred with their kids in the mostly 8-12 age range, but also plenty of vacationers without children. It took a while in the hot sun to get the pre-trip talks out of the way, but the information was important, like what to do when you're stuck on a rock, and filled with a lot of fun puns. We then boarded buses to get to the starting point where we were assigned rafts based on the number in the party. Once all the busses showed up and people had their assigned rafts, we got in the water. OMG, the fun started. My raft consisting of my wife and I and my son and nephew, became "that raft." The ones who everyone "hated" because we splashed you no matter what and got you good. People got revenge on us everywhere or at least tried. The rapids were not immense on our trip that day, but fun enough. Got stuck and had to bounce to get off. A few sections of the trip you were allowed to get out to swim. The large majority of the trip the water was 3-4 feet if that. Shorter sections were much deeper. After what seemed like an eternity and definitely an upper body workout, it was time to pull over for lunch. Provided lunch was hot dogs, potato salad, lemonade, water, and chips. Plenty for seconds if wanted, and in a nice big picnic area. Port-o-potties there, too. This would be a good stopping place overall, but no, we were told we still had another 1 1/2 hour of rafting to do. This was too much for me, but it still turned out well for all. The splashing dropped down considerably the second half, but there were some pirates to get! There was always someone from the business at the front and back of all the rafts, and they provided required life vests. Make sure you do not unbuckle any of the buckles lest risk a $100 fine which would add to your experience. After an eternity in the hot sun (please bring sunscreen), the trip was over. We boarded the busses for the 25 minute trip back to headquarters. Headquarters has a snack restaurant, fire pit, and sells a lot of equipment. They also took a picture of every raft while on the river which was available for purchase. I only knocked one star for the length of trip. With the smaller kids, I think it could have been shorter and still just as much fun. Staff were excellent and answered my questions on the bus rides. Tips are pooled, and I did give one to our guide. All had a great time, got sunburned on the tops of their legs, got soaked (because of being "that raft"), and laughed a lot. Good family time together. Can't say how much it was as I didn't plan it out, but I'm sure it was in the $50 or $60 range per person. Might have been more. Recommended! read more

The family whitewater adventure is an overpriced waste of time and money. If you want to raft, do whitewater or have an adventure then look elsewhere. We spent more time being told not to paddle then paddling. The excursion was very crowded, w 80 people who were more interested in drifting downriver and squirting and splashing each other with water. There were way too many pitstops, and very poor communication and and misleading information with the main office beforehand. The trip was shortened by nearly 2 hours due to low water but we received no discount nor any advanced warning that this was the case, only lots of reminders on the river to stop paddling and drift slowly. We hit more bumps on the 20-plus minute bus ride than anything we did on the river. The guides were overly chatty and intrusive. We made the best of it but overall we were highly disappointed and would not recommend it for families or anyone looking for rafting or whitewater or adventure. read more

If you never tried white water rafting I highly recommend it. My friends and I booked for a group of 10 (we got 1 person free!). Our time slot was 9am and it was on a cloudy day which was perfect since we avoided getting sun burned. The guides and instructors were friendly, informative and made sure we all had a good time. The other rafters who were with us kept everyone in good spirits, there was a lot of splashing with water and even water guns! My group had 2 rafts, we had so much fun paddling down the river and some of us even fell in. The free bbq lunch included some hot dogs, PBJ, potato salad, chips, apple and lemonade/water/orange-ade. Really fun experience on our dam release trip. You can get everything you need at check in, from wetsuits to water shoes and food for your trip. After a short bus ride to the drop off point you take a light walk down to the river where your rafts are waiting for you. Guides were helpful and friendly, though at times can be hard to hear directions across the river. We hit some fun rapids and everyone had a great time. Wish we had brought a snack with us for our break as we didn't anticipate being as hungry as we were, and buckets were provided to keep food safe and dry through the trip. The one thing I would change is the fairly frequent stops. There was a big group of boats, so I anticipate the stops were to get everyone caught up before heading to the next rapids, but at some points they felt long and dragged out while we were all eager to get to the next stop. Tickets and rentals were all very reasonable. We didn't stay for the bonfire after the trip but it was a fun touch if you wanted to stay and grab a drink from the bar there. I'd go again! read more

This took up essentially the entire day, from morning to most of the afternoon. It is entirely worth it whether you're with your family or a group of friends. I few things you'd want to be prepared, bring extra clothes to change after because you will get wet. Bring some sort of shoes you don't mind getting wet because you will ruin your shoes. There is a lunch break if you're not doing the family one, but they don't provide lunch. Other than that, try not to yell at each other which way to row to avoid rocks down the stream. Trying to fish someone out of a very rapidly running river is kind of hard. The staff that we went with were very enjoyable to be with, very knowledgeable, and were there when you got yourself in a sticky situation. Would love to do this again, maybe be a little more prepared next time. read more

It was easy to book our trip on line. We went on a Sunday in August. The staff members were all polite and helpful. Tour guides were fantastic. Pictures that were taken were priced reasonably. My kids had a fun time, especially with the Pirates that we encountered on the trip. We were able to rent out water guns for the ride. There were shallow areas where we got out of the raft to swim too. The included lunch was also a plus. They served hotdogs, pasta salad, chips, apples, peanut butter and jelly, lemonade and water. We also enjoyed warming up by the bon fire. They also bussed us to and from the parking lot to Jim Thorpe. We couldn't ask for more, highly recommend Pocono White Water! read more

Came here for a work trip and had a blast, staff are friendly and tell you everything you need to know to get you set up even you've never been rafting before. You can rent water guns, life jackets and other little things like water proof bags to bring with you on the trip. They also have food, dressing rooms, lockers and showers . Water time was approximately 4hrs and the scenery was amazing. We went during a damn opening and only a few spots were alittle rough but overall not to bad even for beginners. 5 stars all the way! We loved the check in ladies and there were greeters too. This place is very organized. We loved our guides! We had Ed, Bob, Clause and Sara and all had a great sense of humor Ed was my favorite! He did our briefing and gave instructions, he was short, sweet and verrrry funny! We felt safe and secure on the river. It's a lot of fun and team work is the key. There are calm areas and some rapids. The guides give instructions with the more involved rapids and watch the group very well. If you care to make a reservation, with multiple people, they make it easy and give a reservation number so each person can pay for their own. This way one person isn't saddled with the entire amount on one credit card. The cancellation policy is very fair. I recommend going to dam release weekend. They go rain or shine! Pocono Whitewater is one of the biggest outdoor outfits in the area. We mostly come for rafting, but they have a huge paintball area that we have yet to try. Their welcome/check-in center is very well run by the well trained staff with quick check-ins and answers to all your questions. There's a snack bar where you can relax, have a nice breakfast and pick up lunch for your trip as well. Our last trip on the upper Lehigh RIver was great with a dozen people from the office and their kids. I recommend only for teenagers & up and there was a Boy Scout troop that joined our group also. Pocono does a large but organized trip and a group usually heads out every hour after a brief orientation and safety talk. You then board a bus through historic Jim Thorpe and a short hike down down to the river to pick up your raft. That mountain runoff water is COLD!!! If you get cold easily, you might want to rent a wet suit top and/or bottom back at the center (though some are a little icky). Wear some old sneakers or beach shoes and you'll be fine. Follow your guides, toss water at your friends and you'll have a great time! Just don't throw your bucket out with the water 'cause we're not giving it back. When you reach the takeout point, hop on the bus and head back to the center. PWW is great that they have a nice changing hut with some curtained off changing rooms. Afterward, unwind in front of the fire & relate some good water stories. Oh yeah and check out your picture at the Welcome center. read more

My friends and I had a fun time out on river. Our guide "Eighty" was the team leader and was very professional leading the groups. The water was super high, so high in fact, that the usual 3 hours on the water turned out to be 1.5 hours as the current was strong and swift. We can into some strong rapids, which was fun. Other times, slow water was relaxing and you could get out of the raft and swim and cool off as it was hot, especially with the life jacket on. People splashed other rafts, you get wet. It s part of the fun. Be prepared to get wet. A few things to note: The set up and orientation was very disorganized. Much sitting around and waiting (for late comers I believe). Also not enough rafts - they had to blow more up at the river. =Poor communication and more waiting around. The picnic lunch was not very good or exciting, but it is not about the food here. read more

Had a wonderful time. They even lended a helmet for my little guy upon request. The scenery is beautiful. The complimentary snacks were appreciated. Each raft had a bucket to splash others and the rafts ambushed one another with splashes. There were opportunities to jump in and swim. The briefing at the beginning was insightful and we used one of the tricks they taught us to get someone out of the water after swimming. It was a safe and very fun adventure. I especially appreciated the array of cultures / religions our group had. It was nice to interact with others from different backgrounds and places. My group did the big day out with guides Joe and Rusty. We were very pleased wit their work and professionalism. They had knowledge of the area, explained a lot to us, were courteous at all times and motivating - at some point we needed it!! Also, the team that serves you the meals, the transportation/logistics team all of them were professional and pleasant to deal with. We had read recent reviews with complaints about staff manners and I don't know where they came from -- seriously! The adventure itself was much fun. It was challenging but doable (this is coming from a healthy person who hasn't worked out for the last 2 years). I like how organized and well structured it was. The scenery is beautiful and that made it so much more enjoyable. I recommend this for sure. read more

Most were just shooting with water guns and dumping buckets of water on each other. We can do that at the pool for free. -stars for not being told about the mile hike at the end of the trip. I'm all for a good nature walk, but I would have brought sneakers for my family. Very unsafe in water shoes. Specifically climbing up slippery rocks in a small waterfall to get to steep stairs. The remainder of the hike was 80% up hill. Still not sure how many of those people made it up. Although we did have to wait 30-40 minutes for them at the bus. Wouldn't do this trip again. read more

We arrived at the given time of 1:20 to check in for our whitewater rafting trip. We were given forms to complete and sign regarding rules and regulations, liability, etc. No one at the reception desk mentioned we'd have a nearly 2 hours long wait, nor does the website state this info, nor were there any signs on the property explaining the steps. We were herded along with close to 90 other people in a check in line by a staff member who lacked any customer service skills one would think would be required for the job. She had no PA system, so stood at the front of the line with several other staff members assisting her and continuosly shouted at the guest to be sure the forms were completed entirely. Several folks missed the guardian signature for their children. She was not nice about it. Her attitude was very poor and a bad start to the trip. Signage along the path leading to the check in point would be helpful. Once we checked in with our forms and given bus passes the ride to the launch site was 20 mins away in Jim Thorpe. The trip itself was enjoyable largely due to the fact that the couple we were paired with for our raft were fun. The Class I and II rapids were great for beginners, the not so great part aside from the check in process was the fact that if your raft was in the front of the other rafts we had to stop and tread water while waiting for the other rafters to catch up. This happened about 4 or so times. Rafting guides were pleasant enough about it. The other disappointment was the "BBQ lunch". IT AINT NO BBQ!!! It was hotdogs, deli made macaroni salad, chips, lemonade and water. I got attitude from one of the food servers because I wanted an extra hotdog bun to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The didn't supply any other bread for the PB and J! How lazy can you get. It wouldn't have been much more effort to grab bread. So lunch was only saved for the PB and J on a hotdog roll! At the end of the trip, there was a 30 min ride back to the rafting center. Worth the money? IMHO not so much. read more

We had such an amazing time, we plan to come back for more rafting and even try paintball, biking, etc. in the future. My fiancé and I attended a Saturday afternoon dam release and had so much fun. We booked an 11:45 am trip, finally got on the water around 1pm. You will do about a 15 minute hike after your bus ride. Check-in is easy and right next to check-in is the rental booth. You need to leave a credit card/ID, but you can rent wet suits, water guns, phone pouches if you want. There's also a shop where you can pick up water shoes, hats, sunscreen, or whatever you forgot if you need it. Hang your keys on the hooks by the door or rent a $5 locker if that makes you feel more comfortable. DO NOT bring keys or important items that you'd hate to lose (wallet, phone, rings, etc.) on the raft. You'll probably never get them back. Even if you try to put them in the 5 gallon lunch bucket, some of those were tossed overboard during our trip, so if you dont want to lose important stuff, DON'T bring it. Several families lost car keys, wallets, and bags on our trip, the best that can be done is to call a tow company. Our guide mentioned, "90% of the time, we never recover items. If we manage to fish something out, it's usually so water damaged, we don't even know how to get in touch to return it." There are changing rooms and bathrooms located across from the life jacket booth, I recommend you make the pitstop because during the safety talk they mention your bathroom option is to pee in a bush during our lunch stop, and they mean it. Had high hopes. D"oh! This was without question the worst excursion I have ever done. (And I've been to the Imternational Torture Museum in Prague and the Pens Museum in Iceland. Unless you want to spend an entire trip being told not to paddle while half the boats throw water at each other instead of learning to paddle, skip it. It has all the thrills of watching "Beaches" with your naked grandmother. Too many people, not enough guides. If they simply had more guides and let the paddlers go and the non-paddlers do whatever, it might get 2.5 stars. Gonna try Maine maybe. read more

This was such a treat. A three hour journey down the Lehigh River. The weather was perfect - overcast with mid-70s and slight humidity in the air. The tour guides were friendly and did a wonderful job guiding us down the river. The rapids were calm, so easy enough for the entire family without risk of falling out. During our journey down the river we had an opportunity to swim and float down the river for a bit. We did this three separate times. The water was perfect. Not too cold and refreshing. Midway we all got off and enjoyed a prepare lunch, which was made up of hotdogs, chips, and apples. They also served us potato salad, which was meh, but appreciated the options. After about 30 minutes, we all got back in our boats and floated down the river for another hour. Overall this was a fun experience and would likely do it again. read more

This was an absolute sh$& show. First off, the website doesn't give you nearly enough information to prepare for the trip. We did the whitewater trip (not the family one). You park, which already was chaotic with three people directing us to go in three different directions. You see the signs to check in. You check in and that's fine. Bit leave everything but what you plan to wear and, if needed, a credit card to pay for rental stuff. But the whole "wear shoes that have a back strap?" Yeah, don't wear your sneakers. They'll get demolished. We saw that on people Coming back and decided, ok, we will rent the booties. We ask the check in person, she says we have to pay for them at a different counter. They send us to a different counter. They say no, this is the wrong counter and send us to another (which literally was the person standing next to the area where we just checked in). Pay for those, at which point they required me to leave my license or credit card with them. Go to the bootie booth. No one there. Trying to find a live person is impossible. No one is wearing anything indicating they work there (mind you, there was no less than 150 people everywhere). Why wouldn't they have everyone who works there wear a shirt with "staff" or something to differentiate who works there?! After tracking a person down, we get the booties. Back to the car to drop everything off because the lockers were all full. There's like 3 lockers. You have to pay for those too. You can buy their food, but where do you put your cash or card after? Make sure you eat before you go. You'll be so hungry afterwards. The place is so packed that getting to the food (which you will Need to get to your car again to get your card) is a mile long. Back to the car. There's a little training that goes so fast your head spins. Fine. Go on the bus at which jokes are more Important than actual helpful information. You'll be hiking to where you get into the rafts. No one tells you that, so I hope you don't have any knee problems or older people with you. Get into the rafts. Not easy and on slippery rocks. Since no one took more than three seconds to tell you how to steer the thing, you have 25 rafts in circles, people falling off, and these buckets that you could "put your food in" (which was never mentioned on their site. They just say you can bring your own food), floating away after falling out of the rafts. We found one randomly floating and grabbed it to help bail out the water. Take the bucket though, because you will need it to get all the water out of the boat (water in it makes sense. You are in rapids. No argument there), but give each group a bucket just to bail out the water. Was about a 5 hour trip. That was disclosed on their site. They don't say you'll need to "pull over" during the rafting at different times. I understand if the group gets separated, but that was a mess and I wish they gave us some pointers on how to do that before we had to do that. It was like bumper boats. People falling out of the rafts. At the end "Buzzkill Jerry" was screaming (yes, screaming) at everyone to pull over to where the end point was. One group went awry by accident and you would have thought we were in mortal danger. He needs a hug, a snack, and a nap. Miserable end. The ride back is about 15 minutes. It's freezing because we are all wet and the bus windows are down (it's 8pm by now. We did the 2:00 ride). It's not like you could bring anything to cover up with. Close the darn windows or just put a couple down! Some things that were not frustrating: 1. The guides were helpful and patient on the water 2. Getting in the bus wasn't bad 3. Getting your life jacket was fine 4. Scenery was gorgeous We would never suggest this business to anyone. Find a different company with better reviews. We are a very athletic family. It wasn't about the ability to actually paddle. This place just had people running all over and terrible communication and organization. read more

I went white water rafting with a group of friends. While the rafting was fun I was concerned that helmets were not provided. The water was rough and there were many rough rocks in the water. I would have felt safer helmets were provided along with a life vest. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. You spend a great time on the bus ride and carrying your own raft into the water. We made a mistake of bringing a large cooler and had to carry it to the creek (about a 15 minute walk). All in all the trip was fun. read more

Because of Pocono Whitewaters negligence a 33 year old man died.. it was 100% the companies fault.. they are more interested in greed than people's safety. I am stunned that this company is still in business.. the raft had 9 people when it should only carry 6 people., please I beg whoever reads this.. you are at your own risk when you enter the rapids., no one is there to protect you. Don't put your lives in the hands of incompetent people.. the waiver specifically states that if you die and it's their fault your family cannot sue them. This was an amazing experience! It was my first time and I would deff do it again. The staff is friendly and helpful. They go thru a quick course as a group to give you pointers on do's and dont's of white water rafting. We did the Dam Release White Water Rafting package. During the trip down the river we stopped about 3 or 4 times and in one of them we took a 20 min lunch break. Bring food with you. They give you a white bucket where you can put in your snacks and yummies and seal it. You also get a little bucket that you will be using to scoop water out of the raft! If this is your first time, don't worry you will do great! And you will not regret!!! read more

**Terrible COVID Policies** The initial check-in was good. Only one person per party was permitted to stand in the line for check-in, social distancing measures were in place and maintained. What the purpose of this was, I have no idea, because after checking in, we were all herded onto buses at max capacity... two people per seat for a 25 minute bus ride. To make things worse, despite signs on the bus that masks were required, an entire party of people were permitted to enter the crowded bus with no masks on. When this issue was raised to the tour guide, he said that masks were not necessarily required on the bus, and nothing was done about it. The ride home was worse. The entire front half of the bus did not have masks on for the entire ride. Once again, nothing was done and those in compliance were forced to ride on a bus with strangers, exposed to whatever they may be carrying. I won't even get into the dunk tanks they had to sterilize the life vests with, compliance with which they entrusted to the same people who couldn't be bothered to wear a mask. This is not a company taking covid seriously. Basic, common sense measures were not taken and the few measures they did take were completely negated by being on an enclosed bus with maskless strangers and wearing life vests that may or may not have been sterilized. I would recommend you stay away from this place until the pandemic is over. read more
