I wish I would've come to yelp first before booking this appointment. Are you ready for this? THEY CHARGED my insurance $650 for a walking boot that costs $70 dollars. When called and asked why, they said "Because that is the max we are allowed to charge so we do." I have a deductible, so guess who was stuck with the bill? Of course, I quickly cancelled my next appointment where they were "going to fit me for some inserts" - (can you imagine the cost of that? probably $2500. Also, I have achilles tendonitis - turns out, the boot IS NOT what I needed. AVOID this place at all costs. read more

Dr was incredible, the billing practices are absolutely a joke. Not only is it a nightmare for communication, but it's all electronic billing so nothing in the mail, no final notice, nothing. Called to pay, and was told I would have to call the collections agency. No help was offered though I never received the 10+ methods of billing statements she claims she sent. I have a habit of breaking bones in my foot and Dr Daniel saw me through each time. Realistic and empathetic. Never had a problem with billing as many other reviewers have. Dr O saw my daughter and we had orthotic inserts made that instantly solved her problem. As with any other medical provider, I'd recommend shopping your own equipment such as surgical shoes and walking boots. Amazon will be cheaper than billing through insurance, but that's an insurance issue, not this office. read more

I had a wonderful outcome with Dr. Blanchet. I had a cyst growing on my ankle in the area where I have a metal plate and eight screws. On my first visit, I came with x rays in hand. I was impressed with the methodical way she approached my situation. Because the cyst felt soft, she first attempted to drain the cyst in the office. When that did not work, she scheduled an MRI to get more detailed information. We discussed the MRI and decided to operate and possibly remove two of the plate screws based on what Dr. Blanchet saw during surgery. Before surgery, Dr. Blanchet provided all of the consent forms I would be asked to sign on the day of surgery. I was also fitted for a boot prior to surgery and two days before surgery I had my post-surgery prescriptions. Before and after surgery Dr. Blanchet visited me to answer questions and detailed what she saw during the operation. I was quite impressed with her answers to all of my questions. My recovery was quick. Immediately, I was able to walk in the boot and three weeks later I was walking in a regular shoe. I would definitely recommend Dr. Blanchet to my friends or family. Doctors are great (Dr. Oase is very nice and informative), but billing and scheduling have simply been below needed expectation. I am 2 days before my surgery and I have not had any estimate of benefits outside of staff members calling me asking for $500. I have no idea how much my surgery is, what the $500 is for, and how it factors into my overall treatment. Everytime I call the office, I get an answering service and nobody returns my call. I intend to have my surgery done, but have a hard time recommending Podiatry Associates because they rarely answer their own phones and have not provided an estimate of services. read more

Not real happy with my toenail fungus outcome. I bought into the treatment program and even added 3 more treatments to make sure the laser treatment was going to work. So, without the laser being covered by my insurance I was out some major bucks. Plus, I paid my 50.00 copay for the initial consultation and 50.00 for the follow up. These appointments lasted all of 5 minutes. I did all what the instructions asked and my toenail fungus is still there. It has been over a year that I've been working through this. I know toenails grow slowly but really, I can't see much difference since the day I started. Rethink your big investment into this treatment program. read more

I went in for a consult for mild toenail fungus on one toe. The consult took about 5 mins. and was charged a 75 dollar copay. My insurance card clearly read that I would owe a 50 dollar copay. The receptionist called the "business office" and quickly told me that their business office agreed with her that the copay would be 75.00. I thought I was losing my mind, and just paid it. I get home and call my insurance company and they clearly told me that I should have just paid a 50 dollar copay as stated on my insurance card. I call the receptionist who charged me the 75.00 and tell her she owes me back 25 dollars. This is what she says..lol.... "When you come back for your next appointment we will credit you 25 dollars.." I DON'T plan on going back!!! Geeeeee Thanks alot. Don't go here. They are jerks. I showed up late and didn't complete their questionnaire fully thinking no biggie. Uh, the nurse came in and was visibly annoyed with me. Started questioning me about my meds. I hadn't completed it in the intake form and was pretty rude to me about it then just exclaimed that she didn't need it, she had just "gone and looked it up". This felt pretty intrusive given I was a new patient and they weren't doing a procedure or prescribing meds. It was medically unnecessary so a HIPPA violation. I was done then. I saw the doc who had no interest in treating the tumor he diagnosed on my foot. Couldn't get me back for over a month! I started over today with Castle Rock Foot and Ankle. They were polite, engaged and interested in my well being and the stress this tumor might be causing me. Podiatry Associates didn't care about anything except their intake form being completed to their satisfaction. read more

I saw a podiatrist on Sept. 30 and he said they would order the needed orthopedics for me. Time went by and I never heard a peep from them. Called around the middle of November and was told I needed to leave a message for Kelly Z. I did but didn't get a call back. It's now the middle of December and I've left 3 more messages without a call back. I've had great experiences with Podiatry Associates in the past but now they're just plain terrible. I've left a message for Kelly A., the office manager, but don't really expect a call back since this behavior seems to be endemic to their practice. I would not recommend this provider due to the unprofessional front office staff, unethical billing practices, and having services provided that are not covered by insurance. I talked to someone in billing who was very rude without answering my questions and only referred me to my insurance company. I'd save yourself the trouble and find a different provider. (This review pertains to both the Jackson street location and the castle pines location. I was a patient of dr. O and Bart at both locations.) Unfortunately I have to agree with other reviews. In addition to a bad patient experience this practice continues to scam people by promising that they've spoken with insurance company and that treatment will be covered, makes you sign a waiver and then comes back and says that insurance changed their mind. Insurance company has no record of any claim being made by this practice. I would usually err on the side of insurance being the party at fault, but in this case it is only the cherry on top of a very bad experience. Dr. O and her PA Bart couldn't be bothered to listen to my symptoms and frequently told me the I was wrong when describing the pain I was experiencing. Bart in particular never let me speak and clearly was not paying attention to what I was saying. He would answer the same questions with two different answers, couldn't tell if he was ignorant to the symptoms I was describing or just not paying attention. They made appointments just for appointments sake to collect co-pay and make no actual progress on healing my injury. They pre-diagnosed me without almost any information just to take me down the path they wanted without actually studying my case. I now have to have a surgery (with a proper doctor) that could've been avoided with earlier intervention and proper care. I received two sets of injections one with dr. O one with Bart. The first round was fine, but the second round with Bart left permanent discoloration and scarring on my skin. I'm not sure if that was just a side effect of the medication or administrator error. So I can't say if that is truly their fault. However, when I mentioned the lingering discoloration to Bart at a later appointment he said "you're worried about the color of your foot? That's pretty vain". I have several smaller concerns that I wouldn't usually bring up the but I want other patients to know exactly what they are in walking into. Bart's sense of humor can verge on sexually inappropriate and he joked that he made the switch to podiatry because he liked to work with body parts "that I could fit in my mouth". The women at the front desk openly bicker with each other and trash talk patients in front of other patients and talk badly about the managing staff. At one appointment the staff was talking so loudly outside the door that I could hear them describe me as "over-exaggerating pain for attention" (the same pain I now need surgery to correct). One of the nurses herself described Bart as "creepy" and apologized for his sense of humor. All in all I would avoid this practice. read more

Is typical ankle sprain worth thousands of dollars? Don't go here if you think that's fair. Boy I wish I had come to YELP before agreeing to go here. My issues with this company are the exact same as all the low ratings already here. Consider the following: -I already had xrays of my sprained ankle, they insisted to do more (without even LOOKING at the xrays I offered them on CD) -they told me I need the boot (which has their advertising on the front of it, literally adding insult to injury!) and I said, "how much is the boot?" They said, "all insurance is different" I said, "I have excellent insurance because I work for an insurance company and they take care of us. But how much is the boot BEFORE insurance" they said, "we don't know that, we'd have to call the central office" I was like, "well it's not like hundreds of dollars right?" The nurse wouldn't answer. -they make you sign an agreement that acknowledges you may not return the boot. (Which is probably because so many people realize how much they charge and try to get out of it!) -I got the bill, they charged $650 for the boot, and $140 for the large sock (literally a cotton soccer sock, it's not even like a fancy compression sock. It's literally just a plain white tube sock.) My above average insurance covered $439 of the boot and $78 of the sock. So JUST for the boot and sock I paid $272.41 out of pocket, not counting my co-pays (because of course they want to do a follow up appointment, where they will surprise you with the boot bill!) -The doctor was caring and knowledgeable, which is unfortunate that he works for a company that's primary focus is to take advantage of people. I'm a capitalist, I love capitalism, but they should suffer the natural course of the market as a result of their over-charing. I will NEVER go here again, and I encourage you to look somewhere else. read more

They told me insurance would cover most of it... I made my concerns known about what everything was going to cost, and they said "It will only be about $60...." They took X-Rays and an Ultrasound which were both unnecessary. Dr. Nguyen then wrapped my ankles... For $90 PER ANKLE. I can buy my own wrap for $5 and do it myself. Anyhoo, I got the bill, and I'm now out $441. NEVER GO HERE!!! They will scam you, and your insurance for everything you have. read more

Unethical billing practice! I can't even begin to tell you how many people I was transferred to just to get an estimate for the removal of an ingrown toenail on my 10 year old son. Was never given an estimate and it ended up costing us over $700.00. SO maddening. Will never return to this office and have told many of my friends, coworkers and clients not to use them. read more

The only thing Podiatry Associates was good at was emptying my wallet. And even after paying all that money, I'm still in pain. This place seems to be obsessed with putting people into walking boots based on all the reviews I have seen and all the people I saw walking out of their office with them on. The walking boots (and socks... they charge you for these too!) they put you in are very expensive and your insurance will make you pay quite a bit for it depending on your plan (seems to be a couple hundred for most people). So keep this in mind if you choose to see them and they insist on a boot. For me, the boot did nothing and according to my new podiatrist, was completely unnecessary. I also had prior xrays done on my foot that I brought in for my initial visit. Podiatry Associates insisted I needed new ones done. That was more $$ out the window. My new podiatrist had to look at my old xrays since we had to wait a while to get the ones from Podiatry Associates sent to him. He said he saw everything he needed from the old xrays and the new ones weren't necessary. I got into a billing dispute with Podiatry Associates over a foot strapping charge. With insurance, they wanted to charge me $35 for two pieces of cloth athletic tape that was put on in less than 15 seconds by the doctor (and not very well might I add) that stayed on maybe 2 days. I felt like this was a ridiculous charge based on what the doctor did. After a few phone calls, they told me they reversed the charge, but insisted that this was a legitimate charge and they were doing me a favor. I had another foot strapping done at my new podiatrist for the same charge and it's a night and day difference. The new podiatrist made a custom foot strap to fit my foot with a soft pad that is removable and washable. I've been wearing it almost 2 weeks now. I do also want to note I did not see Dr. O. Seems like people who see her have better luck. read more

Beware! I have had several injections in my foot for pain relief. In January my charges for the same service went from $95 to $500 for one office visit. This is due to the fact that they are now requiring all doctors use ultrasound equipment to guide injections whether the doctor thinks they need it or not. No warning, no notification to customers of the new procedure, just a whopping bill! Also, when I moved to a different Podiatrist, I learned that my tendonitis should not have been treated with steroid injections. If you are looking for doctors are who really listen and provide the best possible care for you as a person, this is NOT the place! They seem to be all about how much they can charge your insurance company! read more

Doc who overtreated. Unethical with insurance. Part of the healthcare problem, not part of the solution. Hate to write a negative review but it's true. They will argue with me on this but please take my word. I went in with a typical ankle sprain -- nothing major. Insisted I get a boot and they took 30 seconds to grab one and put it on me. Said insurance has it covered so don't worry. Next thing I know I get a bill for a $650 boot and a $75 sock. Insurance covered half so I "only" have to pay a total of $362.50 for a flimsy plastic & velco boot along with one cotton sock. Billings there made it sound like they did me a favor, and denied overtreating me and denied they said insurance had it all covered. Refused to work with me on billings after the fact, so I canceled my follow-up appointment so they couldn't get me into another $50 copay. Also, their address on the Cigna website was wrong. It listed the Lone Tree location within Sky Ridge, so I hobbled around there for 20 minutes with a bad ankle. Looks like that may have been fixed at least. read more

So thankful to Dr. O so far. My son is an athlete with a bad high ankle sprain that turned into tendinitis but we saw two other sports docs who claimed they didn't understand why he was hurting so much and put him in a boot. Dr. O saw on his MRI he had an extra bone which the other docs missed and gave my son the right exercises to do and he may need to have inserts but that afternoon with just the tape support he ran better than he has all year. We are thrilled so far. Thanks for giving him back the chance to run again. read more

I saw Dr. Oberclaussen or Dr. O as she is called. She might be a good doctor but I don't know. What I do know is that for more than two weeks they were supposed to send in a requisition for an MRI and they didn't get it right. I saw how inept the office is and began asking for a copy of my x-ray results and could not obtain those. Dr. O had told me when I asked "the day of the x-ray" when I could get a copy and I was told the following week by the assistant, who was informed of this by Dr. O. Well, more than two weeks later, no MRI has been done, I still cannot get a copy of my visit notes or the x-ray findings. I told medical records I have been trying to get all this done since my appointment date. She said Dr. O. still hasn't given permission for me to have my records....they are "my" test results but they don't even show anything on their portal like other doctor offices. And now, I receive an incorrect billing statement! DON'T BUY THE $18. nail polish and pay $18. for it like I did, because I just received the statement saying I own another $18.! I have an appointment to see a real doctor with a functioning staff who has a much better reputation. This was a terribly disappointing experience. read more

Dr. O and her team gave me my life back. I had been battling the world's most stubborn case of plantar fasciitis for a year and a half, gotten surgery that was unsuccessful, and was truly at the end of my rope when Dr. O and her team began treating me. She tried many more conservative methods before finally resorting to surgery again. This time it was successful! I am in shoes again and I can begin returning to the activities I love. I hate to write negative reviews about a business but my experience with Podiatrist Associates on Crown Crest Blvd in centennial was so bad I felt I needed to caution other potential patients. My first visit to their office was due to a high degree of ankle discomfort- after X rays and other tests they recommended custom fit orthotics- they were not inexpensive but since my job requires me to be on my feet I felt I needed to take on the expense. I got the orthotics and followed the doctors directions to a tee. The orthotics at best made a marginal improvement and, being unwilling to spend more money, I thought I would just have to live with the discomfort. A few months later I developed a sharp heel pain- given the new pain and an opportunity to complain about the ineffectiveness of the orthotics I made another appointment. Unlike my first two appointments I wasn't asked for a copay. The doctor explained that he thought I had planter fasciitis and he gave me a cortisone injection. When I mentioned the orthotics they wanted to charge me for a new pair- I guess I thought that given that the first pair they prescribed were ineffective they would not charge me for another- I was very disappointed to be wrong on that count. The doctor did put in some additional temporary padding in the orthotics which they had previously measured me for. While those spacers did help a bit I remained very unhappy that they wanted to charge me for new orthotics. When I returned for a follow up appointment I was presented a bill for a little over $450. At no point at any of my previous appointments did any discussion of what my out of pocket cost would be ( this was not my experience at any other doctors or dentists office I have been to where they carefully explained what my out of pocket cost would be before giving any treatment). I reluctantly paid the bill and asked the receptionist what my cost would be for that appointment- she gave a very curt, rude reply that she couldn't possibly tell me that. I opted to cancel the appointment. To that point I had paid $450 and got zero relief ( the cortisone shot was good for about three days). I subsequently went to a chiropractor who in two sessions which cost me a total of $49 almost completely alleviated the pain in my heel and ankles. Sure wish I had gone to him first. Needless to say I will not set foot in the offices of Podiatry Associates again read more

Back in January my wife came to Podiatry Associates with a foot pain. She was seen by Dr. Adam. He diagnosed her very quickly, almost just like a glance, dismissed her question whether the pain could have have been caused by sciatica, and just said it was a neuromas. He prescribed her boot even though there was no crack in her bone. After a while my wife's pain actually was getting worse and she went to different doctor who finally diagnosed correctly that the pain was caused by pinched sciatic nerves. Going to Podiatry Associates wasted us time and money, and made her condition worse by putting her foot in imbalanced boot. And not owing to their misdiagnosis they kept demanding us to pay the bill for the boot and all. With this bad experience we would never go back there again - maybe the other doctors are okay we don't know, but definitely not this Dr Adam Toren! read more

Dr. Torren was great! But don't buy your suppllies at the office. I had to pay over $200 "out of pocket" from my insurance for a boot when the same boot is on amazon for $18.58. When I called the billing department to request an adjustment to the price, I was told the boot is "medical grade". I have the exact same boot from amazon! You will recieve your bill a month after the office visit, so ask what your supplies will cost before you leave the office. Once you leave, you are stuck with whatever they choose to charge. read more
