I have used K&J'z Moving service twice now, and both times I received excellent service. Jason and Drew were my movers both times, and they did a wonderful job. For the first move, they moved my family's 3-bedroom house plus two sheds worth of belongings. For the second move, it was my dad's jam-packed, 1-bedroom apartment full of stuff. In both moves, there was A LOT of stuff, and they did their best to handle everything very carefully. Even when things didn't go perfectly according to plans (when do they ever?), they were honest, flexible, and amazing. Overall K&J'z is a great local company and their movers are friendly, efficient, hard working, reliable, timely, and will do their very best to make you happy. I've hired them twice now, and I would definitely hire them a third time and for any future moving services I need. Unbelievably unprofessional and cruel. On the day of our scheduled move, they refused to move an elderly woman. The owner couldn't even be bothered to call and explain why. They are the worst. We had used them many times in the past, but today's outright cruelty is unforgivable. They should be ashamed. Edit to respond to owner's response: the cruelty continues. But I suppose that is good for the public to see when deciding whether to use this business. It is an absolute fabrication that the apartment was full of feces. John, you never assessed the situation yourself nor even gave us the courtesy of a return phone call so you really shouldn't be stating as fact things about which you have no personal knowledge. Context is that this woman was being moved from one assisted living facility to another. One mover told us that his partner could not tolerate the smell because it turned his stomach. The other mover told us he was fine with it but couldn't do the job alone. We asked if another person could be replaced and asked for the owner to call. We never received any phone call. We have left messages but silence. If you have an elderly family member in need of help, do not contact this company. It is difficult getting older. Your actions have made it much worse. read more

Do not use! They cancelled the day of the move without adequate explanation or even the courtesy of a telephone call from management. Hired K&J movers in April 2023. After the move I discovered that they damaged my 85 inch Samsung TV, the corner of the TV was dropped and the screen is damaged. Before the move I told them about the TV and asked if it would be ok in the move. I was told by John, don't worry we will wrap the TV and cover it with moving blankets. John came to my house looked at the Tv and then informed me a few days later that they would only give me $500. This was all they would give me for a $2000 Tv that was 18 months old. It cant be repaired. And then I was told it was my fault because I didn't have a box, I told them before the move that it would not be in a box. I was also told that I should have bought the insurance. I was never told that that was an option. Do yourself a favor and don't hire K & J movers. Unethical LIARS read more

This company moved my parents out of the house they'd been in for 55 years 1000 miles away. IT WAS A LOT OF STUFF. They were kind, efficient, careful, and very speedy. When we realized my parents' stuff had filled our truck, they worked with us on a plan to move the rest and were very reasonable on pricing. I highly recommend them! read more

We had a very top heavy pizza oven, 1100 pounds, moved from our driveway, around the house, to the pool area on a pre-installed concrete pad. We had the pizza oven on a dolly with front rotating wheels and the team showed up interested in using our equipment instead of theirs. They were very careful, worked hard and finished within 45 minutes of arriving. It was difficult terrain around the house to the pool area but the team did an excellent job including moving the pizza oven off the dolly. Thank you! read more

They gave me a quote right over the phone, showed up at the furniture store on time and didn't have any trouble carrying a huge couch up my steep stairs. They were fast, but careless with our items. The worker was practically running down the moving truck ramp with a dolly full of boxes that had a fragile box on the bottom. When he got to the bottom of the ramp and the dolly tires hit the ground, the boxes slammed. This happened many times, even after asking them to slow down and take their time. Additionally, there is a piece of furniture that is most important to us out of all of our furniture. After explicitly stating this fact, they still managed to scratch the top of the chest and drop our couch on top of it. They set a wooden furniture item directly in water. These guys were knowledgable about how to stack items efficiently (hopefully...the items are in a storage unit, so we'll see the shape of the fragile pieces that are in boxes when we unload the unit), but were in WAY TOO MUCH OF A HURRY. Being quick so that you save customers money is one thing. Being fast, sloppy, and extremely careless with someone's cared for items is another. We will certainly not use this company again and don't recommend others use them either. read more

ARRIVED LATE, LEFT EARLY: JOB HALF DONE They agreed to move our two bedroom apartment across town including packing a kitchen and two closets. When the day came the two movers showed up two hours late, no boxes of any kind, and denied agreeing to pack anything. Although everything else was packed and ready, they left when only half done and delivered that half to the new apartment at a cost of $500. Their boss told them they had to quit early even though they began late. We called Adam at Midnight Movers to finish the move and, even though it was no-notice and late they came through to finish the move, almost at midnight. I would rather gargle with razor blades than ever use or recommend K&J'z. If they can't complete a local move, what would they do to anything larger? read more

Recently moved from the North Valley to the Fourth Ward in ABQ. I couldn't be more pleased with the service I got from Eric and Brian. They treated my stuff with care, and even paused on the way in with the heavy stuff to let me put felt pads on the bottoms of it all to protect the hardwood floors. I have used K&Jz movers twice now and have been very impressed both times. We used them once to move some furniture we purchased and we used them again to move us when we bought a new house. Both times they showed up on time, were very professional and careful with our furniture and boxes. They do a great job of packing their truck safely for the drive and using lots of moving blankets to be sure nothing gets damaged. They were more than happy to put the furniture where we asked at the new house. I really like to support local businesses as we had used their services before. The second time not so good as a seven piece heirloom patio set was left behind, never made it to storage, I had pointed it out to Brian the foreman but it was still missed. I assumed everything made it until I moved to discover three months later, it was left at our sold house. Some of my major pieces were not covered even when I asked and were badly gouged and scratched. I had called Johnny, owner, immediately and he told me to contact the people who bought my house. The owners are loathsome people refusing to return my set. I told Johnny I would like compensation and damages repaired or some deal if I needed to move in the future. He laughed me off and to this day feels no remorse about what happened. So beware, no insurance, no compensation for loss just the middle finger and a too bad sht* happens. INADEQUATE COMPENSATION FOR DAMAGE I have used them before but I regret using them this time. I only had 4 items to move. The untrained amateurs that John sent royally screwed my perfect condition stainless steel tool chest. The kid used 1 inadequate ratchet strap to secure the tool chest. It broke. The top half of my tool chest fell and was seriously damaged. I cannot even unlock it to remove the tools. The manufacturer doesn't make them anymore. The only option for a direct replacement is to buy a used one from someone else in whatever condition it happens to be in.$700, 2 piece toolchest I had for 18 years with barely a scratch on it anywhere. Now it's junk. They offered $350 cash and a "too bad". I am guessing that they either don't have insurance or possibly no one will insure them. Given the bad reviews here it is a possibility. I will never use them again. I will never recommend them again. I will go out of my way to tell anyone who asks about movers about my bad experience and the paltry compensation offered by a business owner who does not take responsibility for his employees actions. Your possessions may be in peril, I would and WILL go elsewhere. read more

I used K&J'z movers many years ago and was very impressed and pleased with their speed and attention to detail. So I chose to use them again with a recent move from the NE heights to Rio Rancho. They were a BIG disappointment! Showed up 90 minutes late and while I had been given an estimate of 4 hours and it took them 7 1/2 hours. The two movers were very slow and I even took things to them to get the truck loaded. 4 hours just to load the truck! I had one bedroom set, a dining room, living room, refrigerator, washer and dryer. All the boxes were packed and in the garage to be loaded. Unbelievable!! Tried talking to the owners but got no where. He told me a verbal and/or written estimate is not binding and since I signed the contact for the hourly rate I had no recourse but to pay them the full amount. Never, Never again!!! read more

I called to hire this company for a local move. They were due to arrive on Friday June 23. I called June 19 to confirm the time. I spoke to Kash. He confirmed the date and time. He said they have one job ahead of us and it should be around 11:00. My husband took the day off from work and was at home getting ready for them to arrive. When they finally arrived around 1:30 they took a tour of the house. My husband told Gabe that he knew they wouldn't be able to get everything in one load so if they could start taking the big stuff that we would make two trips. Gabe said that it looks like we're not ready and they were going to lunch and would come back. We waited all day and they never came back. Called Gabe multiple times and he would not answer his phone. We called K&J and spoke to Kash. He said there must have been a misunderstanding that he was told we wanted to reschedule. We said no, that is not the case. We need to get this done. Kash said he was sorry and would call us back first thing in the morning. 9:30am Sat he still hasn't called so my husband called him. Kash said that they would come by at 2:30. 3:00 came and no phone call, no nothing. We call Gabe several times, called K&J Movers several times and they would not answer their phones. We left several messages none of which have been returned to this day. I thought maybe we would hear from them the following Monday because the "boss" realized the job didn't get done but still no call. I understand if they got overbooked or if something happened that prevented them from doing the job but they didn't even have the decency to let us know or to have the nerve to call us back or answer our calls. We were left to to find a mover on Sunday at the last minute. We wanted to have our home in place during the weekend but instead we were left with these very unprofessional movers putting us in this situation Friday and Saturday waiting and trying in vain to reach them. They should consider that if they can't do a job then let us know. I hope other families that need reliable movers strongly reconsider using these guys. There is no excuse for not returning a call or saying "hey we don't want to do it." No problem. We found someone who did and they did an excellent job. I highly recommend Quality Movers if you need a reliable and professional company. read more
