Ordered 2 weeks before needed. Was rescheduled 3 times on the due date (after being confirmed for delivery on as requested the evening before). On day of delivery - time was rescheduled 3 times without being asked. Then it was cancelled for that day and rescheduled for the following week. Was reassured it would be here 1st thing that morning. On new delivery date, again time was rescheduled. 3 times. Had to cancel because after being pushed back it was too late. our project had to be rescheduled. read more

We moved from FL to PA and had a few weeks to store our things before moving into our new home so we opted to go the POD route. The POD team in FL was absolutely seamless to work with in terms of scheduling, drop off and pick up. I had planned our drop off at our new address in their online portal (where to place, how it should be facing, etc). The day of drop off came and they placed the POD in the wrong direction on my driveway. They say the driver will call you when they are on their way but I never received a confirmation call that the POD was coming which is when we could have confirmed POD placement. I had contacted Customer Service to get this resolved as they placed it wrong and they told me it would be $167 to reposition the POD. It was blocking out walk way into the house and just super inconvenient for the move so we opted to have it repositioned. I kept trying to talk to someone on a manager level to explain the situation to not be charged and the rep told me they weren't allowed to transfer my call... The next day we waited for them to come back and reposition and at the end of my delivery window, they never came so I called Customer Service again. They said they showed up to reposition but there was a car in the way. Again, they never called me to let me know they were on their way or that there was a car in the way (which was on the side and not actually blocking). I told customer service again this all would have been resolved if the driver had called me to let me know they were on their way like they are supposed to. Customer service escalated my issue to the warehouse team in New Castle DE and was told they would call me to reschedule this repositioning. I never received the call and got charged the money. At this rate, we wanted this thing off our driveway so after calling customer service again, told them cancel the repositioning and refund us the money and got it emptied. The customer service team was not great to work with. They kept telling me they cant guarantee the driver to call me when they are on their way, could not connect me with anyone from corporate, could not connect me with the actual team in New Castle who was handling our POD, etc. After spending over $2,500 on this POD, I expected more of a seamless process but it was nothing but a headache. PODs are great if you are not using the New Castle team. They do not communicate and will not help you. read more

While the delivery woman was extremely proficient and kind, it was my first and will be my last time ever using PODS. When I ordered online, it offered a discount. I was to pay $171+. I was charged $269+. When I called to question, they stated no discount on order. When I called to have them pick it up early (almost two weeks), I was told I have to pay another $108.62 for pickup. I had two 16 foot containers in storage for multiple years in Delaware. PODS somehow lost one of my containers and they never even left Delaware. Now, I am stuck trying to locate the elusive "customer service representative" that has been assigned the case, no phone number or email point of contact info, total joke. Note that when you call PODS, you actually go to a Philippine call center and get the joy of rehashing every piece of info on your account with the call center. I used PODS to move from Santa Barbara, CA to suburbs of Philadelphia. Initial container drop off and pick up in Santa Barbara went smoothly as scheduled. There was a glitch in their system night before it was supposed to be delivered in Pennsylvania, which led to some stress; however container was delivered on time as scheduled to my driveway on 7/18. Then the problems started. The empty container was originally supposed to be picked up on 7/20; however, the delivery window came and went without a call from PODS driver. I called the customer service number and they reached the local New Castle, DE PODS manager who said he would send someone that afternoon. I received a call from a PODS driver who mistook me for a different customer and said he would call the manager to get an update on my container. I have called the PODS customer service line 5 times now and each time they try to call the New Castle, DE PODS manager who only seems to pick up the phone some of the time. I have asked for the manager's number, but they refused to give it to me stating company policy. They even marked the container as picked up in the system despite the fact that it is still in my driveway blocking parking access for myself as well as the other tenants in my house. I feel like they are gaslighting me at this point by claiming the container was picked up whenever I call in. I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau to try to get this resolved, but am still waiting for it to be picked up. PODS really shot themselves in the foot with the container pickup as I absolutely would have used their service again until this huge problem at the very end. I will definitely not be using PODS when it comes time to move again. Updating my post to reflect that PODS did eventually come pick up the empty container 5 days, 5 customer service calls, and 1 better business bureau complaint after the initial scheduled pickup window. Kimberly from PODS corporate called me after receiving the BBB complaint and was the only person I spoke with during this entire time who appeared to actually want to help me resolve the issue. She gets 5 stars, but my PODS experience as a whole only gets 2 stars. read more

After my parents died, I rented a POD unit to store the best furniture and other valuables until I would be able to sell these items. I was told that keeping the POD in our driveway would be a safest option, as the container was not completely filled, and the contents would slide around if it was transferred to the POD storage facility. Unfortunately, when I opened the POD container 3 months later, I found it had leaked rainwater and much of my furniture was ruined -- wood was water-soaked and mildewed, fabrics were moldy. There was standing water and cardboard boxes were dripping and falling apart. I immediately filed a complaint with POD, requesting reimbursement for damages. I was told they would call me back within 48 hours. I never heard from them. Multiple times I called and (after waiting 45-60 minutes on the phone) spoke with customer service. I was given a claim number, and an email address to which I sent photos of the damage. That was weeks ago. Now, 7 months after I filed the claim, I have still not heard anything from PODS. I am filing complaints with FTC, BBB, and anyone else, as PODS owes me about $8,000 in damages. I will NEVER USE this company again. read more

Update #2 (8/17/2020): The POD was finally picked up, however, it still sits in the local New Castle, DE warehouse and has not yet shipped to my destination, despite the website showing this should have happened 4 days ago. As is in the past, no calls, no emails, no nothing. Well, I take that back. The customer advocacy contact I was put in touch with after they noticed my Yelp! review said he would look into the "pain points" on my order and where the breakdown happened. I was offered a gesture of "good will" by compensating me one month of storage for the POD, excluding the $680 in additional rent I incurred. He made it clear this is also the position of PODS, and said it's a he said/she said situation. "We listen to what our local management says", was his response. He told me if I have any proof, or, video, that he could then prove the driver arrived only to leave. However, the only footage was from a local restaurant and they don't just give away the footage. Therefore, my only option was to entertain a "credit on one month of storage" and not compensation for the extra $680 in rent I ended up having to pay. I received a letter this morning with an offer and a release letter containing this verbiage, "We kindly ask that you review the release and modify/remove/add additional commentary to any review you may have posted to acknowledge how PODS may have resolved this for you." Now, the kicker is the "credit" is $90 less than the monthly storage rate. I'm done arguing with them. It's pointless. This whole experience has been a nightmare and I'm choosing to reject the "discount" so I can keep my right to keep my experience with PODS public and hopefully, save someone else the time, trouble, monetary loss and stress using PODS. Update #1 (8/10/2020): It's now been a week and a half since I posted my original review and still have yet to receive ANY feedback on when my POD (that STILL sits out of state at my old address) will be picked up. There has been ZERO response from the local warehouse. I have called customer service every other day (sometimes multiple times a day) and the customer service representatives cannot get a hold of the local warehouse (New Castle, DE) via phone and the team in New Castle, DE are not responding to emails. When I call, I have to wait an average of 30-55 minutes on hold every time I call only to be told they have reached out to the warehouse... again and have to wait for a response. So, I now have another email I can send a message to (socialmedia@pods.com)? Am I getting this special treatment because I've voicing my experience on social media? Really fair!?! I'm now being charged extra rent from my landlord as PODS now takes up space on the property preventing the landlords from renting to a new family. Original Review (7/30/2020): While the delivery of my POD went smooth, the POD itself lacked 5 inches at the top and 3 on the sides. The door also jammed when I went to pull it down or push it up. Come pick up time, the driver, whom I can only assess had made up his mind he did not want to work after 5:30 at night, made up an excuse that there was too much traffic (there was one car waiting for him) and he did not the time to move the trailer because there awas a line of cars 10 long. He told me to call customer care to reschedule for the morning or noon. I mentioned there are semis that have to block the Alley often for food delivery to the neighboring restaurants and "traffic" would be no different in the morning. Well, after waiting on hold for 44 minutes to speak to an agent at Customer Care, the call disconnected. I opened up a chat and that closed after I waited from the 43rd in line to 20. After calling the customer care line a second time and waiting for 25 minutes on hold, I was able to speak to an agent, who told me I needed to hang on for him to finish filing a report. I was so relieved to hear a human, I waited. They said the earliest they can come back out is in 13 days. I am moving in 36 hours and my POD still sits by my garage. The gentleman filled out a form to "override" the 10-day wait, but I was told the warehouse had to approve it and determine a time they can come get it. I could not personally call. I'm hoping the team will come pick up the POD before I move to avoid me having to pay rent for still having personal property on the premise and blocking the use of the garage and a portion of the driveway for a week and a half. I'm wishing now I would have chosen another company. They are not what I was led to believe by their website or sales reps. read more

We hired PODS to deliver two containers and they never delivered the second even after five days of begging them and THREE scheduled "three hour windows" for the second POD. It never showed up. We had to scramble to find a way to get the rest of our belongings to our new home out of state before our closing on our house in Delaware. We requested to speak to a manager and no one ever called us or emailed us. We received no apology or explanation. They billed us for the second POD that they never delivered too. So along with the countless hours on hold trying to get the second POD, we had to wait on hold for 30 minutes to talk to a PODS rep to get the charge taken off, too. Don't assume that PODS reps can do anything to help either, the Newcastle facility and managers never answered their phones for the PODS phone reps. First they tear the grass up in drop off and pick up. They drove in my neighbors yard across from me and put tire ruts in his yard. NO reply when emailing the place. They decided to change my pick up and drop off to new house the day of WHILE sitting at settlement. (Everything you own and need is in this pod) They dropped a pod off for my girlfriend the same day they picked mine up at SAME address but still charged us both the pickup/drop off fees. HORRIBLE company. I will NEVER use them again!!!!! read more

No guarantee of delivery of POD or pick up. Be aware that PODS can change the date and do not need to let you know. We made a cross country move and scheduled our POD delivery and they changed it from a Thursday to a Tuesday without notifying us. No one was able to tell us why the Change was made. An inquiry was made, which led to nothing, Then, we had to change the POD pick up date, obviously and they didn't have one for over TWO weeks! The delivery people said they could get it in a few days. Bad website, not all of our information was ever available, payments etc. Spend the extra money and go with someone else if you need your things on time! read more

I scheduled my pod to be delivered today about a week ago. The phone operator charged me 1400 for the miles and never scheduled the delivery. There response was to charge me another 250$ and now my pod wont be delivered until late July. This service is shitty. I wish I could give them zero stars. read more

My family and I have used PODS several times throughout the years for various lengths of time and for different reasons. This summer, I rented 2 PODS to relocate my home, one for long-term rental, one for short-term. The first delivery/pick up went off well without an issue. The second is when issues began. For 3 months, we have been fighting back and forth with over-charges, disgruntled/unprofessional employees, and now I must deal with staff threatening me. Since the delivery of my second container on September 21, 2020, I have had numerous, random charges on my credit card. I would get between 4-6 random charges every week (sometimes in a single day) without explanation until my credit card company had to intervene. Every step of the way, I have had rude and utterly disrespectful workers calling. One employee literally had me wait (not on hold) while I listened to him finish putting his IKEA together! All he could say was, "well, I'm at home, I might as well make the best of it." Each time I ask to speak to a supervisor, I keep getting pushed to Stephanie Ramirez, who is ironically, a Customer-Advocacy/Customer Resolution Specialist. In every conversation, she is passive-aggressive, disrespectful, and unhelpful and she nor anyone else will allow me to speak to anyone above her. After my credit card company resolved the issue of overcharging me, PODS created new issues. A part of the overcharge resolution, I asked that, instead of charging my card repeatedly, PODS send me a bill and I will pay monthly. Of course, it was "a different department" that needed to arrange this request, so after about two weeks, I was told that everything was set up and ready for monthly paper bills to be delivered to me. I am currently still waiting for a bill but received a phone call from PODS saying my account is now in collections. When I questioned her (Janice) about it and let her know that a paper bill was to be mailed to me, she confirmed stating, "Oh, the request was sent to the wrong department." At that time, she informed me that now I'm responsible for a late fee. And although it was admittedly PODS' fault, I would still be responsible for that late fee, double the payment (huh??), and my account would still be sent through to collections, even though they know this account has been in continuous dispute since September! AND, yet again, no supervisor or management available for any discussion, no callback, no documentation, and no rational explanation for their actions. As I stated, I and my family have used PODS multiple times over the years and this is the first time PODS has been absolutely ridiculous. These incidences are only reflecting the time after the delivery of my container. I didn't even touch on the no call/no show, random middle-of-the-night drop-offs, etc. that happened at the start of this PODS rental. Since I have been refused the right to speak to anyone above Stephanie Ramirez, I haven't the slightest clue if upper management is actually aware of how their staff is representing their company and just how many customers they are losing. read more

It's interesting how they took my money but now they are not responsible and were not going to help. I stand by my evaluation of this company. They treated my possessions like it was garbage. My pod delivery was scheduled for a Friday afternoon and confirmed the night before. After it never showed up, I called and all they could say was that they were trying to get in touch with the Philadelphia area handler and could get no reply. Told me to call back in the morning. Called on Sat. morning and told I would hear from the local rep. within 2 hours. I received no call. Called numerous times on Sat. and got the same story every time: they are leaving emails and phone messages for local delivery rep. and getting no reply. Late Sat afternoon someone from PODS calls and says I will not get POD until Monday (3 days late). I had people lined up to help with the move on Sat. Horrible experience. If you can't have confidence in their delivery dates, they are of no use. Avoid PODS! read more

Buyer beware - This PODS franchisee is not reliable. A generic reply that paints your customer as "unreasonable" is not acceptable, and is misleading to potential customers that rely upon honest reviews and replies to determine from whom to purchase. DM'ing you is not transparent to other potential customers. You dropped the customer service ball and "owning it" would have been more honest. Your reply fails to mention that in addition to a reservation made a week in advance and a confirmation email, and a phone call 24 hours in advance, that you failed to arrive in the reserved delivery window (twice). You did not call, we had to call you when the first scheduled delivery was late. We were informed that the driver was running on time with all the other deliveries, but that you would push back the delivery time from 8:30 - 11 AM to 2:30 to 5 PM. You then called us mid afternoon to tell us that the driver had an emergency and would need to reschedule. the timing of your call, placed us at a disadvantage as we had to scramble to find another service, late on a Friday afternoon. In addition, We had scheduled additional personnel on Friday to help with the move. We did build in a margin of error for the delivery, that is why we scheduled it for first thing in the morning, and easily accommodated your request to push the delivery back to the afternoon. If you knew that the driver was running on time during the morning, why did it take until mid-afternoon to realize that you were unable to meet your self imposed, revised delivery schedule? Your driver most certainly has a mobile phone, GPS capabilities, and your vehicles likely have telematics, so providing us with a reasonable and accurate delivery time should not be challenging. The failure to deliver, added significant cost as we had brought on additional workers and re-purposed others, to assist. Your failure to meet the revised delivery window that YOU provided, cost us further as we were required to bring employees in to work overtime on the weekend. We were fortunate that we had those resources, a residential customer most likely does not have similar resources to address two missed appointments and should be aware when considering your service. Their POD moving equipment is way too loud to put in use in a residential neighborhood at 7am on a Saturday morning. It woke my whole family up which is something that hasn't happened before in this quiet neighborhood. A very rude way to conduct their business - they would do best to keep it after 9am on weekends. read more

I setup a POD rental over the phone through there 1-800 number. The representative on the phone was very friendly and helpful. The POD was dropped off on the scheduled day and after returning home from work I realized the driver removed 4 landscaping pavers from a small retaining wall in my front flower bed to use to balance the container on my driveway. I was completely amazed and angry that my personal property was used and promptly called to complain. The day aftewrwards heavy rain came down causing mulch and dirt to drain from the flower bed into my yard due to the missing pavers. I have now called 3 different times and was assured each time that the manager of the New Castle Delaware office (who somehow never answers his/her phone) would call me back within 72 hours. The phone call never came and I was basically blown off. I'm completely disgusted with this company and will tell anyone and everyone to stay away from them! read more
