Upon arrival she said because of the size, that it would be an additional $50 to move our tv since there was no box (she explained it was so their insurance would cover it. But they broke the tv and after their insurance wouldn't give their money for their fault, we were stuck paying $700 for a move and then having to buy a tv for $600 to replace the one they broke. They asked for photos, said they would pay us in 30 days, and still haven't a month and a half later. We will have to take legal action against them but I wanted to warn everyone not to use them. They overcharge for random fees and are incredibly difficult if something happens.

The referral paid $90/hr for 2 movers with a minimum of 2 hours and relied on Just Labor Movers to supply the moving truck. Mike quoted me $120/hr + $85 truck usage fee, reasoning the hourly rate difference is because of the truck. I am well aware of demand-driven pricing models, but this fee schedule seems arbitrary. Fortunately, there is no shortage of courteous and respectful movers who are more than happy to provide fairly-priced, reliable moving services.

The reality of things is that he probably double-booked his Sunday with two different families, and had no intention on ever moving us (since he could make more money with someone else who booked on the same day.) I wouldn't be surprised if he cancelled on other families that same morning as well. Although I had to scramble that early morning for another last minute mover, word to the wise is to have a back up plan, since this person nearly left us stranded...unless I pay him more and reneg on the fly. Seems at the end that him (Michael Denmon) canceling on me like that was a blessing, since my Plan B mover was excellent, and if I had chosen JustLabor Movers, and had asked them to add an additional box onto their truck, they would have held my entire move hostage and have asked for more money. One day, his business practices will backfire in his face and someone will sue him. Luckily, I don't sue for such petty things. He is a sweet-talker to get you to commit with him, and then will cancel on you unless you happen to not be the highest bid that very morning when you rely on him. It's predatory and unfortunately there are no laws to have this sort of thing not happen and to protect consumers. Although my experience with this company was horrible, it doesn't mean that others should suffer the same. Consider using someone else.

They showed up with a team of 4 at 8am the following morning, ready to work. These folks wasted no time. The truck was packed expertly, our things were handled with care, and they knocked the job out faster and cheaper than the original company had quoted us. Multiple items were left behind, including clothing, bags, a laundry hamper, a lamp, a shoe rack, and other belongings, requiring me to spend the following day finishing the move myself. The movers also arrived unprepared and asked to borrow my personal tools to disassemble and reassemble furniture. During the move, my wood table was damaged and now has a significant crack. After the move, I contacted the company to try to resolve the issue. Communication took weeks, and after multiple follow-ups, my request for a refund was denied. The owner seemed more interested in arguing with me than addressing the incomplete move and damaged property. I expected a completed move, professional preparation, and reasonable customer service. Between these four moving companies they placed my belongings back and forth in an unsecured garage that had previous field mice activity (droppings present). I found Move Crew on Yelp and reached out via messenger to get an estimate for our move. Sheena…read moreresponds extremely quickly to all messages and after giving her a list of items I needed moved she gave me a quote. It was reasonable compared to others I obtained, and I especially liked that it was a flat fee - not hourly. A move can be very costly all around, so it was nice not to have any surprises when it came to the cost of the move. I put down a deposit via their online system in order to hold my date, and the day before the move she reached out to ensure everything was still the same. She said that the men would arrive between 9:30 and 10:00 and would give me a 30-minute warning call. At 9:50 when I hadn't received a call I reached out to Sheena and she told me that the guys were having truck issues and were running a bit behind. Around 10:20 Sam showed up (he drove separately) and did a walk-thru of the house. Shortly after that the truck (a U-Haul) and two other movers (Oran and Paul) also arrived. They immediately got to work disassembling and wrapping my items and loading everything into the truck. I was very impressed with the wrapping they did for my items. They REALLY wrapped everything, which none of my other movers ever bothered to do. On top of the good work, they were also all very congenial throughout the day. We had some chats about poodles, credit card debt, death...you know, the usual things (lol). Putting all my stuff into the truck took about 3 hours. Things went from great to terrible when they tried to leave the house only to find that the U-Haul truck wouldn't start!! Luckily I live within walking distance to a U-Haul location, so they walked over there to get a battery jump. However, that didn't work, either!!!!! U-Haul thought they should just get another truck and unload everything they had just packed, but they decided to call roadside assistance instead. They ended up sitting in the truck for 90 minutes waiting for them to come. I felt so bad for the guys. Seriously - terrible. What was supposed to be a quick move turned into an all day/night affair. Plus my (old) neighbor was being a bitch about the fact that they were stuck and blocking her driveway. Clearly it wasn't their choice and if everything had gone as planned they would have been gone before she got home from work. Anyway, once roadside assistance came they were actually able to work some magic and the guys made it to the new house without having to unload the truck and pack another. Once they arrived at my new home they all worked very quickly to bring everything inside and get it assembled. It was so late and such a long day and none of them had bad attitudes about the unforeseen obstacles. Despite the fact that everything took hours longer than it was supposed to, I would totally use Move Crew again. U-Haul, on the other hand... Thanks Sam, Oran, Paul, and Sheena!!
