Bad experience. Called to plan a move from RI to Maine. Was told we had 30 days to load and unload. Was told it takes about a day to pick up and about 3 days to get dropped off seemed reasonable. Loaded it and they didn't pick it up for a week. Then took another week to deliver it. They had the pod half the time I paid for. They dropped it off with 2 days left in the month. Promptly charge me an additional month "rental" on the 1st. I unloaded it by the 2nd...funny though when they were told it was empty they could pick it up early in under 3 days. Go another way. WORST experience of my lifetime! This horrific place kept withdrawing from my bank account when I was in the hospital, when all of my IDS were stolen, though they NEVER had permission to do that at all, until it was overdrawn!!! I was in the hospital and my family was depositing money into my VENMO account. PODS kept stealing from my my bank account until It was deleted completely! read more

Never again! We were confirmed for a SATURDAY morning delivery of two PODS. MONDAY night, they still had not arrived. Finally, they said delivery would be TUESDAY between 4:50 and 7:50 PM. And pick up the following morning at 7 AM. After hours spent on the phone, all we got was sorry, sorry, sorry ... nothing we can do. Had to cancel the moving crew, pay them (not their fault), scramble, find another crew and rent two storage units to accommodate our move. NEVER AGAIN!! read more

PODS misrepresented themselves when I first called which made me hire them. I had a 16 ft pod in my driveway that had to be switched with the 16 ft pod in my daughter's driveway. They initially told me they were flexible and could accommodate me and that I would not be charged for the switch (which I was) - just the drop off and pick up. They promised they would call and text the night before the switch which they did not. When I tried to contact them with my compaint they would disconnect me. I asked for a supervisor and was transferred to someone who was not available and message box was full. My daughter had MI-BOX which were wonderful and got their 16 ft pod in and out of her driveway no problem. PODS could not get my 16 ft in the driveway and parked on the street causing me to pay over $200 to the City of Newport. Then at 10pm the night before pick up, they changed it to 2 days later, causing me more parking fees and more days of PODS rentals. And to top it off, the POD LEAKED AND DAMAGED ALL THE CUSHIONS, COUCHES AND CHAIRS STORED. Save yourself any headache and hire MI-BOX read more

I used PODS during a recent move. Is the rental fee expensive? Yes. Are there additional pickup and delivery fees? Yup. Is it hella convenient having your stuff securely stored right in your driveway to conveniently access? Absolutely!! Let's be clear. PODS is based on convenience and there's a price to pay for that. I booked my storage unit over the phone and that worked best for me. The website is great to manage billing and eventually arrange pickup but I felt more confident speaking to a person to get things rolling. Was there a long wait to speak to someone?? Yes indeedy. But I'm finding that long waits are the norm these days with the current pandemic staffing issues just about everywhere. The person who assisted me over the phone was pleasant and helpful. I clearly understood what was included along with fees. The delivery was exactly as promised and the gentleman who delivered was an absolute peach. It's quite an operation getting that storage unit placed but he navigated it like a pro! (P.s. - my kids were entertained for a good half hour watching the production) I will say the monthly rental price motivated me to get that unit squared away and emptied. Scheduling pickup was a breeze and they arrived at the time promised. I'd recommend and use again... read more

Disclaimer: This is going to be a long read. To sum it up: I will not ever use PODS again. If there are any uncertainties in your move/storage situation, DO NOT use PODS. Keep reading to find out why I say this. I called PODS in April concerning my cross-country move. I didn't have our new address as we were still looking for housing, but was assured that everything would be okay and that I could update any details at any time. Everything went smoothly leading up to the container drop-off and pick-up for shipping. The day that they picked up my container, I called PODS to update my address for the next drop-off because I couldn't get the online system to work. I was told that because I had provided inaccurate information, I would have to wait until my container made it to the next warehouse before I could update my address. Frustrated, I had my husband follow up about this the next day and he was able to get more information and start a refund claim. PODS decided to charge us around $250 to ship our container to the correct address. Then, we were billed almost $900 to have it shipped to the new address. When we asked what other options there were, the rep told us we could get a truck and go pick up our things from the warehouse. We had to find a way to fork over the money so that we could get our belongings. It is either their way or no way. As for our refund claim, it took nearly 3 months to have someone contact me and get things resolved. I had called and emailed dozens of times. The customer service people were always helpful, but obviously limited in what they could do and they didn't have any updates for me during the process. The claims agent we were assigned didn't do their job whatsoever and they didn't end up helping at all. A different person finally called me and stayed on the phone with me until a resolution was made. While we paid $900 for their mistake, the refund we were given was about half of that amount. read more

The moving experience with PODS is in one-word frustrating (maybe infuriating is better). They are inflexible with the dates and don't adhere to what they say about delivery/pick up. Moving is already stressful enough and the added stress from them not picking the pod up from my original location and then not coming on time was unnecessary. Not telling someone when they will deliver the POD until the night before is not helpful either. Also frustrating is that they won't give me the opportunity to speak to a manager to discuss my situation, which I have not experienced with a business before. I still haven't gotten my things at this point, and I don't like to leave negative reviews, but it is necessary for others to see this so that they save themselves the stress. read more

DO NOT USE PODS! If I could give it a lower star rating I would. While the individuals that pick up the phone for pods are kind when speaking to them, they have absolutely no ability to do anything to help you if anything goes wrong. We had an issue upon receiving the pod and issues when it was delivered. Contacted customer service and even social media services and got nowhere. Just usually a "we are sorry" and are working on it followed by a we can't guarantee anything (even when it was an issue caused by them). There was even one point getting a call from someone then them asking us why he was to call us. Went through the song and dance for the I am not sure how many times and his solution was when the pod arrived to take pictures and email them. One problem we were not provided with an email. Oh and when we called back left a voice mail and still to this day have not heard back. This was such a disappointment because I have known many friends who have used the service and just had glowing reviews. I know I will never use them again for my moving needs. I am also recommending to my friends and even my own parents, who were in the process of ordering their own pod and using the service, to cancel their order or use someone else. Had a great experience with PODS moving from Colorado to Rhode Island. When accessing our container at the Rhode Island facility the staff were extremely helpful, particularly a guy whose name i think was Zesh. Helped me out big time with some packing and unpacking issues/questions. Very friendly and very helpful. They can't keep the payments/balance or discounts straight! Keep changing my delivery date on a long distance move. Some of the representatives - and I've talked to MANY - are good, some are surly. It is nearing double what I was quoted with all the hidden increases. Save your $ and your sanity. So bad I want to sue them! The local franchise owner did call to try to resolve any issues I was having but said up front she had no control or influence to change things on the long distance piece. Then things went from bad to worse... Once arriving in Houston I got a call from Pods reporting that 2 of my 3 pods had arrived but there was a problem with each of doors on the Pods. They wanted me to drive AN HOUR AND A HALF to look at the doors. I asked, "to what end?" I mean what was "looking at them" going to do? I was excited that they were there 4 whole days earlier than expected and asked what day they would be delivered. I was told I STILL couldn't have them on time. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? pods scheduled my pick up on a Saturday my move date. this was a mistake. i made 4 calls to customer service. 2 hung up on me cause I was upset. the others were not English speaking and culturally illiterate and were not helpful. they said they changed the pick up date and low and behold they came on the wrong date. at that point I didn't trust them so kept a close eye on things. I never could speak to a manager or someone to help address my other grievance. so customer service sucks read more

The team at Pods in North Kingstown, RI is terrific! Zach, Mick, and Cameron couldn't have been more accommodating, helpful, or friendlier. We moved a 6 bedroom house full of furniture in 2 trailers to RI and weren't sure how many pods we'd need for storage. Zach and Mick guided us and offered to leave an extra Pod " just in case". As we loaded at their facility Mick and Cameron often stopped to check how we were making out. They made a stressful process so much easier for us. Thank you! read more

Our service with PODS has been despicable at best. From the beginning when they picked up the POD and almost crushed it due to negligence from the "driver" to the customer service and their ever changing promises and quotes. I just scheduled the delivery of our POD to our new home, and not only got different delivery dates from someone that couldn't type, but three different final payments that I needed to make, one of them being over $1,200 more than initially quoted. This is so stressful, save yourself the aggravation and fights with your spouse, and drive your stuff to where your moving, PODS is not worth it. I wish I never used them. read more

Yes, in the beginning it was immaculate service, I got the phone call the night before, a time frame the next day they would arrive. After they picked up the pod at residence #1, it was downhill from there. The pod got stored in the wrong location (very far from its future destination) then it got moved a month before it was to be delivered to an even further location (4 hours away) from its future destination, I was charged for this , when I didnt request it this way and then it was delivered late with no night before phone call and no time frame, It was picked up 4 days late with no prior phone call or time frame. I made a complaint to get compensated for this problem and NO ONE, has cared to call or address my problem with pods, Some of my furniture was damaged too and had to be disposed of, I will never use or recommend them to anyone. read more
