I highly recommend Pods Moving & Storage to everyone either moving or needing storage. The first person we spoke with to schedule our move made some mistakes in the process, but when we called to remedy the problem and change our move date, we spoke with a man named Carlos, who involved management to remedy the problem and have our rates reduced, and he also seamlessly moved our service dates without a hitch. He was kind and patient and extremely helpful. We received our Pod, as expected, with a phone call 15 minutes prior to delivery. When our delivery driver Jodi arrived with the Pod, we had a neighbor out there screaming about us receiving a Pod, and we had to involve our apartment manager, and Jodi was patient and kind while we resolved the issue. Our Pod was shipped across the country, and delivered without any delays and with full communication from the delivery drivers, who were kind and efficient. While our two large flat screen TVs both broke in transit, we recognize that it was our mistake in how we packed them, and not the fault of the company. We will be moving back across country again within five years, and fully intend to use Pods moving company again. read more

Provided detailed delivery instructions and both home owners were present for POD container delivery. The delivery driver refused to park the container in the requested location (a previous RV/boat parking spot) claiming that the wheels of their delivery machine could not operate on grass. Pictures were obtained while 2 of 4 wheels operated on the grass of the aforementioned spot in order to navigate the driveway. The requested container location has concrete gravel beneath a shallow grass area and is flat and level. A large boat and trailer were parked there for years without any sinking or issues with small dolly wheels. There was no risk to the companies equipment in this request. At the time of delivery the homeowners were very clear that the POD container could not impede access to the driveway for an upcoming construction project and the delivery driver refused to offer any solution. Per the signed rental agreement section 14. Placement of Unit (c) At Customer's request, company may access or operate on a lawn, unpaved surface, or other non-reinforced area of Customer's premises. According to customer service this specific PODS facility has "their own rule that they will not deliver a container to even be 1-2ft over grass". They attempted to schedule additional services at additional charges for repositioning, without confirming that this PODS location would perform the requested alteration. Upon inquiry the manager refused. This is an example of false advertising and predatory billing practices. They offered no resolution or refund. read more

Avoid at all costs. They told me they would door to door. I talked with their sales agent at length about the logistics. And they email me on the day of my move that they couldn't redeliver the PODS at all. So they took my stuff, but they wouldn't return it. So after all that hassle and paying PODS over $1500 I had to book movers to move my stuff from their distribution center to my home. I was making a cross country move from Seattle to the East Coast. There are quite a few moving companies and PODS may be one of the more expensive ones, but after observing what my coworkers went through I'm glad I chose PODS. I had to call to get a quote and the person broke the exact costs down. Since I lived in SLU, drop off of the pod involved getting city parking permits for a couple hundred dollars, and due to the vertical clearance and being surrounded by low hanging power lines, I opted to pack in person with local movers I would have used anyway, saving a $90 drop off charge. The loading of the pod was very easy, the list was outside, pod was where I expected. It got loaded, I had previously booked my pickup and drop off time on the phone, everything went off as planned and I received texts around each delivery date. Scheduling was no issue, everyone was incredibly communicative, none of my stuff was damaged, overall a good experience! read more

I have to say I was MOST IMPRESSED by the delivery driver Jerry from this location. I had a POD delivered today that came from Pennsylvania. After the driver left I couldn't get the door open. I called the 877 number but they said they couldn't come out until Monday. I then text the driver Jerry who dropped off the POD. I didn't hear anything back but then I hear a truck outside and it was him. He saw my text and was only a couple of miles away. He took time to come back and lift the POD to free the items that were against the door. Jerry went above and beyond and should have a raise. The whole process is very automated. Including lots of communications along the way, from Detroit to Seattle. I was only confused at the end, when from my view, it looked like I was being informed of a 4 hour "delivery window" of the POD "Between 8:30am - 12:30pm" , which had me worried as I had a team of 5 that was going to meet ME at 8:00am, ready to work and I didn't know if the POD would be there by 8:30am or not. (or it might show up any time until 12:30pm) I wanted to be certain as I'd arranged a team to arrive at 8:00am. I wasn't able to get confirmation of the exact arrival time, as it was Christmas day, so I waited til the local office was open at 5am on 12/26. Luckily I was greatly relieved when George Holcomb answered the phone with warmth, great knowledge and genuine care. He confirmed the pod would be in my neighborhood BY 8:00. Enough time to meet my moving crew and orient them to the "plan". Dionisio the driver arrived early with the pod like before 8:00ish. He was a true gentleman and professional. George even called back to confirm the delivery of the POD. Our POD service consisted of the POD staying on the flat bed truck, and Dionisio lowering and raising the gate with each person's load from the POD. He did it with kindness and efficiency and was helpful to our crew. I felt lucky that Dionisio was assigned to our delivery. George and Dionisio were 5 star. My inability to confirm with a human about the exact 4 hours that I paid extra for, for the access to the POD was a little nerve wracking. Hence the 4 star review. I was also very unclear around who and how one goes about securing parking spots in front of the venue for the POD. And that too was a little nerve wracking. Overall the convenience of using PODS is nice. The customer service out of the Tacoma office needs a lot of work. The online scheduling system never worked so we had to call in for scheduling. We were hung up after being on hold from 18 min once and put on hold numerous times. Once we were on hold for over 26 min. The drop off and pick-up drivers were great. Very friendly and professional. Dishonest company that erroneously charged me for an extra month, would not provide receipt and did not refund me after multiple calls.

This is total scam company, do not use them. They promised me, in writing, a 10% discount on my move costs. Then they didn't apply it and said it's my fault for not bringing it up again. I spoke to them 4 different times and was told to call, then to email, then to call, then to email. I did all of that, including sending the written documentation of the discount. They will flat out lie to you and then tell you it's your fault. Use any other moving company. read more

We had a great experience with PODS "City Service" (where they keep a pod on a truck and you can load/unload it for four hours, either from 9:30am-1:30pm or 1:30-5:30pm). Jonathon was our driver, and he was attentive keeping an eye on our stuff while we were inside loading the dolly/hand trucks, and he stood there to raise/lower the hydraulic lift as we loaded the pod. We did not pay for any help loading the pod, and with two adults, we were able to move all our belongings (a modestly furnished 1000sqft or very full 750sft apartment) to fill a 16ft long (8ft tall, 8ft wide) pod to 90% capacity within 2-2.5 hours. Granted, we had all our stuff in the garage in a 8x16ft rectangle, so we were only moving items less than 100 feet to get them from the garage to the pod, but still - things went faster than we expected! So far, I'd recommend this service and Jonathon highly - we'll have to see how things go when I arrive in the new state and unload things. read more

To start they claim they'll tell you the delivery window the night before. They didn't. We moved our cars of the way just in case luckily. But that was the smallest of problems. When it came time to deliver our pods to the new house they also could not give a window until the night before. Which is tricky with movers. Anyway the night came and they said it would arrive by 9am. Cool. We woke up the next morning to an email saying they cannot be delivered. Full stop. Not a new time, just they cannot be delivered. We called and they said they don't deliver to our area. After already accepting our money and taking our stuff. We were on the phone forever trying to get them to tell us when they would deliver and they claimed the next day first thing for sure. That we would be compensated for the hassle, needing to pay and reschedule movers, and pay for a new night in a hotel. That we would have the new delivery time that night. That night we get an email saying it would be ANOTHER day later. We called and told them how unacceptable this was. They finally relented that would deliver tomorrow after all but in the afternoon. So we had to pay movers for the lost time and reschedule them as well. Again. After this saga was finally done out support ticket, that they claimed would compensate us, was closed as "no fault found." I was livid. We called and they are now reopening the ticket... But I don't have a lot of hope. They are so dysfunctional and their customer service is awful to try and claim this wasn't their fault even. read more

I have used PODS for two interstate moves, California to Seattle and back again. I was very pleased both times. The website gives very clear instructions of the expectations for the delivery of the POD, where it will be in a storage facility, and when it will be delivered to its destination. You do have to respond to texts and emails to let them know what you want. Their employees are professional and efficient. I was given accurate delivery windows. They gave me referrals for movers to pack and unload the POD in each direction. It is important to know that PODS works best in mostly level conditions without trees or roof overhangs. Not good in hilly situations. Pay close attention to the measurements they give you for delivery and pickup. I was very happy with PODS and recommend them. read more

Horrible customer service. They claim they will send you a delivery window the night before, but I received an email and the delivery window was blank. I called and emailed to find out the delivery window. The automated phone system gave me one time and the person who emailed me back gave another. The driver arrived early and when I spoke to the manager to sort it out, he was incredibly rude, condescending, and argumentative and told me I could either meet the driver or pay to have the delivery rescheduled. Buyer beware. If you are forced to use PODS - which I hope for your sake you are not - here is what to expect. The physical PODS are smaller than advertised. They are internally framed with 4x4s and over the length and width of the POD you will lose out on valuable packing space. You will be charged extra if you change your drop location. Mine was a difference of about 17 miles and I was charged $100 above what I was originally quoted. This was after an agent told me on the phone that I would not be charged any more to redeliver to the updated address. Fine print wins here and it doesn't matter what one of their representatives said. NOTHING is included. I was quoted to have the first month of rent included. I thought I was getting a deal since I am a USAA member. All that meant was that they were going to include the month of rent in my first bill. Probably could have just said your first month of rent is X dollars and will be on your first bill. Call for updates. Every single update. When you pack your POD and provide the final address that does not automatically trigger the shipment. They will store it in the city where you packed it up until you go back on your account or call and physically trigger the subsequent move. Certainly I could have read the fine print more closely. But moving already sucks enough and the additional lack of transparency came at a time of extreme stress. I would advise you to read their terms very closely and learn from my mistakes if you have to use them. read more

So. I have used pods for a few short deliveries and things went well. But use great caution when ordering a long haul. Biggest problems are communication breakdowns. All phone service is done in India. Local communication is virtually non existent. And communication between The Indian pods people and American pods people is non existent too. American workers are not pleased with this since we the customers are miserable with it. But It's about getting cheap telemarketers. I scheduled a delivery with the Indians from Huntsville Al to Sequim Washington. I was never told that they will not deliver to Sequim. So somehow I have to either pick it up 2 hours away or spend another 2000 dollars on another mover to go there , unload my Pod and load their truck. Ok sounds easy right ! Delivery of pod to their facility was on Nov 22 I called India the 21st and they told me it was already there. I almost grabbed a trailer for the 22nd but paused. On the 22nd I noted delivery was really gonna be on the 23rd. And my pickup was to be on the 24th. Later the pick up was to be on the 25th. Not the 24th. But I would have liked to get a U-Haul and run down there on the 24th but site would not allow me to schedule that. I didn't schedule the 25th because I see doctors all day. if this all sounds confusing. Well you got it right. The phone communications and data entry on website don't sync properly. Plus the language between India and America is not working well. I actually drove 2 hours to Tacoma to talk to someone. Only the fork lift operated was there. He had few answers and stated all arrangements had to be done through India. So , I got to communicate for services at a country in not just another time zone but they too may be on another calender day than we the people in America. So , if you plan to use Pods expect all communications to be run through India and expect a lot of frustration , stress, and additional expenses. I got an easy solution. Horrible Horrible experience with PODS in the Seattle east side location. They cancelled our delivery on the day off. The driver called 6 minutes before the arrival window and said that they can't place the container on our lawn. We had specially signed the waiver for non paved surface upfront. If they couldn't deliver it on the lawn then why did not the customer service rep who took the order inform us upfront. Why do they wait till the driver reads the notes a few minutes before delivery. If I would have cancelled the order at the last minute then they charge us a $150 for the cancellation. If they cancel last minute they don't pay us any money for the cancellation. My entire schedule got messed up. I had to cancel my moving team for which I have to pay last minute change fee. PODs is horrible please use another company. read more

We used PODS to move within the city of Seattle. I can see PODs as an option in the rural areas, but it doesn't work well in very urban setting where parking is a challenge. It requires too much coordination to make sure the street is available for deliveries: 1. It costs almost $900 just to get two city permits to close the streets at the two locations. When we called, the representative was not upfront about the costs (though I admit it's very clear on the website) and we felt misled. We provided our credit card number without knowing the final costs. The PODs service itself is less than $400. It would be a lot cheaper to get U-Haul for an in-city move. 2. On the day the driver was supposed to show up, they changed the delivery multiple times and ended up not showing up. My partner had to take a day off and was waiting in the rain for a whole day to make sure no cars will block the street. It's very stressful because people ignore the "No Parking" signs, and we were the one who was supposed to call the towing company. All these made it a highly stressful day. 3. With all the missing deliveries, we ended up having only 2 days to pack everything though we originally scheduled for a week. Very stressful to say the least. 4. The permit puller didn't get us a 24-hour "No Parking" It's only until 6pm daily. Very odd. So right before 6pm cars would take the parking spots making delivery impossible causing a lot of anxiety. 5. Once we went through the first delivery, the drop off and final pick up were a lot smoother since we learnt the lessons and coordinated with the neighbors ahead of the time. In summary, a highly stressful experience. There is too much to coordinate if you have never done it. This whole process of moving across the country with PODS has been a disaster from start to finish honestly. First I paid extra for a lock and it wasn't provided with delivery so then we called and were told they would drop one off or bring one when they came to pick up the container. I then received a call early in the morning from them (after repeatedly asking that they contact my spouse who's info is on the account because I had already moved). They said because it wasn't locked they couldn't move it. The driver said that he wasn't allowed to keep the keys and that we'd have to cut the lock off. Thankfully my husband was coincidentally in the area and was able to take the keys. Then it was several days late for drop off on the other end. Now I've spent several hours over the course of the last several days trying to get the POD picked up. It's blocking my driveway and massively inconveniencing the whole neighborhood and I've been told something different every time I've called. I was told it would be picked up 4/14 and it wasn't and now I'm dealing with the storage center manager finally via email after the fourth agent I spoke to gave me the email. I am also due to be charged for another months rent two days before they are able to pick up my POD. I will be raising hell to the billing department because I should not be charged for their inability to move it. If I could rate it -30 stars I would. There really needs to be better options for long distance moves. This was thoroughly unsatisfactory from start to finish. Edit: After 13 days empty, POD did finally come pick up their POD after the senior customer solutions specialist I was assigned after posting this review failed to reach a sooner pick up date with the closest storage center's manager who has already told me there was nothing he could do. I had asked they reach out to the other storage centers in a radius of where I live and I don't think they did to be honest. I essentially got no assistance beyond them rightfully waiving the bill for a second month of storage. After calling the company multiple times yesterday to inquire on our delivery time, no one ever could give it to us or reached out. Unfortunately, the POD has still not arrived (far after our window was scheduled). We had $300 concert tickets for this evening that we've been forced to forfeit due to still awaiting the POD arrival. I advise utilizing any other similar service in replacement of PODS. This has already been a nightmare and our belongings have not even been collected. UPDATE: Our POD was delivered almost a full day after it was scheduled to arrive. I reached out to the email address which replied to my original review here, and no one ever responded. Their responses on these reviews are fully bogus. They do not allow you to access it after 2 (even though they close at 3) and when I said I'd be back the next day, they told me they needed a 24hr heads up before pick up and wouldn't let me access it for another 2 days. Generally miserable experience. What they did well was dropping off the pod in a timely fashion initially. The driver was nice and professional. The pod worked as advertised. That is where the positive feedback ends. The expectations of the customer are clear as mud. We left for our move, and despite them knowing where we are moving to, as it was a part of the quote process. They never moved the pod after the pickup date. It just sat at the warehouse nearby our old home. They never make it clear that you have to call them AGAIN and tell them to actually ship the pod. So it just sat there for almost 2 weeks. We were checking on our pod frequently and it appeared to be in transit, but no. It was completely still. They never say anything to you like "hey, i know you wanted your stuff by this date, is there a reason why you haven't called to have it moved?". Nope. Until we called them to check as we were approaching our expected arrival day did they say "oh yeah, its still in the warehouse". What the hell? I wish we knew we had to make that call. We finally get the pod to our new city, they never acknowledge anything other than "that's your problem idiot." As we couldn't have our pod shipped to our door due to the hilly nature of the city, we had to move it out ourselves. Making an appointment with them is a pain in the ass. If you try to make an appointment with the warehouse itself, or by calling pods customer service, you will get different dates. This makes reserving trucks even more annoying. Finally we got our stuff and have washed our hands clean of pods forever. We will never use their services again. If they were more clear with customer expectations, or tried to help at any of these road bumps, I would gladly accept responsibility. They couldn't care less. If you use them, just be prepared to call them often to make sure they are actually doing what they advertised to you. You might get your belongings faster than a month. read more

ON GOING NIGHTMARE!!! (it's long but please read) We started our journey with pods in August of this year (2022) Our belongings were placed into storage as our family was preparing to move for a fee of 348.95 a month not including the drop off and pick up fee for the first month. Our belongings stayed in storage until we notified pods of our expected move on 11-14-22. They scheduled the shipping of our pod (from Virginia to Washington state) on 11-16-22 We paid a fee of 5,139.30 to have our belongings shipped to our new home. We scheduled our container to be delivered to our home on 12-02-22. I received a call from pods saying that our shipment was delayed by one day making delivery 12-03-22. You'd think one day no biggie.. I did. I rescheduled our movers for the next day.. HOWEVER the next day they called to inform me that our shipment was now delayed until 12-06-22. Frustrated I rescheduled our movers again. That brings us to TODAY. My pod was scheduled to arrive today 12-06-22 at my home sometime between 10:45 and 1:45. I received a call from my delivery driver notifying me that they would deliver my pod in the next 35-45 Min. GREAT!!! I then receive a call a little bit later from my delivery driver telling me THEY DONT HAVE OUR POD!! The WONDERFUL delivery driver mentioned that it could have been delivered to another semi local location and they would get back to me about delivery. I jumped on a call with a pods representative to figure out what on earth was happening with our belongings. This is a good time to note that my family has been living in temporary housing for the last two weeks relocating for work which is ending in two days, due to us having to extend because the delays. WHILE paying for our home that we can not live in due to our belongings NOT BEING HERE! The representative was OUTSTANDING and notified me that they were looking for the location of my pod and would notify me this evening by 5:00 pm about the NEW expected delivery date. Now if you're counting this is the FOURTH delivery date. Sometime this afternoon I received an email from pods stating that my NEW NEW delivery date would be 12-13-22. I again call to speak with a representative about our belongings and he too was an AMAZING representative and they're going to try to make it right. This experience has been a nightmare ASIDE FROM THE CUSTOMER SERVICE which has been great. Our belongings are now scheduled to arrive on 12-13-22 just 12 days before Christmas and ALMOST THIRTY DAY SINCE WE PUT IN THE MOVE REQUEST. So our family is not only without our belongings and the comforts of home like actual beds, clothes, dishes, tables, were also without our Christmas decorations, tree, our elf on the shelf that my young children are waiting for. We moved from Florida to Olympia Washington. The service in Florida was seamless. We ordered 2 16ft Pods and the drop off and pick up went like clockwork. Our first Pod came on the date promised. We waited all day for our second pod but it didn't arrive. No text, no phone call, nada. I finally called and found out that our Pod wouldn't be delivered and after speaking to a supervisor I was assured it would arrive on Monday. I had already hired helpers to unload the pod and they only had one pod to unload so because we didn't use the whole time, we were still charged $1k. We scheduled the movers to come back the next day and that was an additional $500. BUT once again, we were misinformed and now we are not getting our pod until tomorrow. After being assured it would be here today. I'm livid. I'm beginning to wonder if I will ever get my pod. We are out about $1000 due to their crappy service. read more

DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY! I ordered two large POD containers last Monday, April 21st to be delivered to our house on Friday, April 25th. I received confirmation that same day and booked airline tickets for my husband, our assistant and myself to fly from Southern California to Seattle on Thursday the 24th. I received two text messages from PODS on that same Thursday reminding me that if I changed our delivery time or cancelled after noon on the 24th I would be charged an additional 50% of the total fee. As soon as we landed I received another text message telling me that they had to reschedule our delivery to Monday the 28th. We had a tight schedule to get everything out of our home and into storage in order to start a 6 week mold remediation of our home. When I called to explain our tight timeline I was stuck discussing our issue with two un-empowered call center employees who both read from the same infuriating script repeating how sorry they were for the delay and how they understood how I was feeling. Without any recourse we rearranged our schedule and return flights to Southern Cal and waited to receive the time window of our delivery on Monday. We waited from 7 am - 10 am on Monday (the time window they gave me Sunday night) and finally at 11 am I called to find out how much longer I needed to wait. After being on hold for an hour I was told that they had to reschedule me for the following day. Fortunately, after reading ALL of the ONE STAR, TERRIBLE YELP REVIEWS for PODS (albeit too late), I found another company in the same area with almost ALL five star reviews. UNITS out of Kent, WA delivered two containers of the same size I had ordered on PODS that same afternoon. What a scam!! We packed my father's house up in two pods and were told when to have them empty so they could be picked up in time or else we would be charged for an additional month. We swiftly unpacked both pods and informed the company that they could be picked up and were told that they didn't have availability to pick the pods up for another 25 days so they would be charging us for a second month rental. There is no corporate contact, just a toll free number that leads to no support. My mother is a realtor and will be informing all of her clients and co-realtors of this scam. Don't do it! They will ruin your life! Go with uhaul pods instead. I wrote one lousy review for this company before, but wait. It gets better. After being a loyal customer for 3 1/2 years, they raised my rate by $30 per month without a 30-day notice, even though their contract states that they will give you a 30-day notice. I am a senior citizen on a limited income. When the charge almost caused my bank account to be overdrawn, I complained, and they said I could appeal it. I did but never heard a word from them. Shame on them. This is again, a hostage situation. One other thing, for anyone reading this. They took my belongings to Des Moines without telling me they had an Everett facility. I moved to Bothell, thinking it would only be 2-3 mos. But I'd have chosen Everett anyhow. After going to Des Moines to pick up belongings a couple of times, I paid $100 to have my pod moved to Everett. Ask about your options when you move. I will say that on the day of my move they showed up on time and were very good about setting up my pod to make it accessible. The initial PODS experience was great and the pick up went smoothly. However, PODS neglected to send out an important document for review and I was unaware there was a missing document. Instead of contacting me, they canceled my order and kept my POD at the storage facility without reaching out to me. It was delayed by 2 weeks and although the customer service rep that coordinated the rest of the shipping was helpful and he gave us options on what to ask PODS for to rectify the situation, but PODS deemed none of it was their fault and no extended use of the POD was given, even though it was only there for 2 days before pick up needed to happen. I'm hoping this isn't everyone else's experience. I think had everything gone as planned and the document was sent by PODS, it would have been the perfect solution for my needs. Here's my summary review, if you want the full details read on below. 1. Ridiculous, deceptive pricing and tons of wild fees. Soooo expensive for what you get. 2. Borderline scam-level lack of service - never bookable when you want and is liable to cancel or no-show and ruin your move. 3. Never offers real compensation for reviews and claims their lack of adequate service is because everything is 'subject to availability' and basically the fault of the person booking their services. Just look at their reviews here and on Google and there's no doubting that all of this is true. I was foolish and didn't read reviews before trying them out because I had seen the PODs on my street and thought, "Wow, that looks really convenient!". I was a fool - do not be like me. For both our initial move and then the drop off, we could not book a POD on the date we needed, even with multiple weeks notice. We made it work on the initial move by renting a UHaul and manually delivering stuff. Annoying, but doable. Then, on the other end of the move, I went to schedule my drop off because we finally bought a house and had a closing date. Oops, "No availability - how about 10 days after your move in date?". Wait, you're basically holding my stuff hostage and claiming it's my fault that I didn't have over a month of advance notice despite buying a house and managing all the other stuff in my life? Oh, and what's that, you won't offer any (small) discount or compensation for this trouble? Even discounted delivery? This company is a scam and must be run by soulless, greedy, evil people who have never had to move a thing themselves in their lives. I am a front-line medical worker who practically lives in the ER!. I don't get days off due to short-staffing thanks to Covid. I have one day off this week - tomorrow. It's not possible for me to reschedule to the next day because I am working 12 to 16-hour shifts! Even worse, it is now 10pm and I never received my 3-hour window for the ETA tomorrow! Every time I call them to ask where the pod is at, they are unable to get into contact with the warehouse. The pod was supposed to be delivered yesterday but they were unable to. Now, it is supposed to be delivered today. Yet, there is still no scheduled drop off time and still no one to get in contact with to answer questions. read more

We moved from California to Washington and had a pods delivered to our home in order to help us move out of our home. The pod was delivered on time and when it came for the pick-up target date, Jimmy Zavala was our to do it guy. He called us in advance to assure we were ready. Once he arrived he was very friendly and wished us luck on our new move. He was also very careful when loading the pod with our remaining belongings. I highly recommend this company and if you can get Jimmy he will be an added bonus to your handling of the pods. read more
