I carry the emotional scars of a move gone wrong three years past and I vowed I would not repeat the same mistakes again. I combed the Internet reading reviews from multiple sources, I made phone calls, I talked with friends and colleagues. We had a great experience with Ahad and others from Pure Movers. The scheduling experience was smooth, the team arrived on time, and did the job really well and quickly. We had a fairly straightforward move (loading some furnitures and lots of boxes from our house to a few U-Pack cubes). They packed all items efficiently into the U-Pack cubes, and we ended up using one less cube than expected, so that was great. I'm going to start by saying that my move with Pure Movers didn't go as expected and I wished it had been better. I'm amending my original review as I spoke with the owner and he was frustrated that the guys on the ground didn't contact him when their service didn't meet our clearly communicated needs. I trust that he's addressing the issue internally. Essentially it boiled down to this: we needed a box truck to move our stuff efficiently, safely, and to accommodate some heavier items. They brought pickup truck. I shared my concerns emphatically and firmly that I wasn't comfortable with this moving option. Their lead guy didn't attempt to solve this issue and insisted that they are professionals. It's moving day and I had a tight schedule, so I trusted them. I should have pushed for a better solution. The lack of a box truck affected us in a few negative ways: They stacked the boxes exceedingly high and in my opinion, very unsafe for a community. They strapped the boxes down sparingly and escorted it to the new location. Clock was running. They couldn't put my heavy items in the truck so they moved them by hand, rolling them across the complex on wheels not meant for the journey. For one of the items, they took it apart without permission or notice and reassembled it incorrectly. Had they brought a box truck, they could have saved me 45 min of moving costs. $$ The move ended up taking 30% longer than the last time I moved, with the same items, from a location 30 minutes away. I attribute it to the lack of an actual moving truck. Thankfully, the owner reached out as he wasn't aware of the issue until I posted on yelp. I tried to overlook the judgment errors by the team but it still irked me weeks later. There owner shared that this was not his expectations and we discussed where the process broke down: the lead mover didn't communicate with their office. If you choose to go with this company, you'll likely have a much better experience than I had. I have confidence he's addressing the issue. The owner initiated contact and refunded my costs even after I said I wasn't looking for that. I felt that he truly wants it to be better especially when he could have kept the money. I won't likely use them again as I've lost trust, but if I did, I would be sure to insist that any concern be fully addressed in the moment. I know the owner will fix it. As for this review, I edited out my suspicions and added the take aways I got from the owner contacting me. I still feel strongly that my photo and experience should be shared, but with hundreds of stellar reviews, my cruddy move was likely a fluke. read more

Asan and his team (4 in total) came by to support us with our move from a 3bhk townhome in Seattle (central district) to a 4bhk SFH in Redmond earlier today. They started the move early in the morning at 8:15 am and wrapped it up in 7 hours (including driving time). They took utmost care, helped load, unload, pack, disassemble big furniture and reassemble at the destination. I recently had a forced move due to trees hitting my roof (see pic) during a recent windstorm and needed to be out of my apartment fast after over 20 years of living there (Cedar Terrace in Bellevue). Completely bewildered, I described my situation and received many Yelp offers, with the one from Pure Movers being the most personable. I also read the many positive reviews about Pure Movers, and I can only say emphatically, "BELIEVE THEM!" When I called Thomas on Friday, I must have sounded desperate because my roof was leaking with water creep coming well into the kitchen and dining room area (see pic), but he made it sound like this job, which included several pieces of heavy furniture and multiple staircases, could indeed be done on short notice. I'm too embarrassed to post pictures of the horrible clutter I had in that 834 sq ft apartment. Well, after spending the whole night plus all-day Saturday trying to pack as much as I could on my own and enduring a theft of valuables that night on top of all this(!), I was so completely spent by Sunday that I could barely speak to the movers when they arrived that morning. Unlike my landlord, who carelessly and callously threw my clothes to the floor (and wouldn't even pay for the move I was being required to make!), this team of three treated all my personal belongings, even the junk which most of my stuff is, with kid gloves. I was pleasantly overwhelmed by their courtesy, professionalism, and obvious expertise, especially when they couldn't get my work desk through the door, so they actually disassembled it and later reassembled it at the destination. Wow, that is a value I cannot put a dollar figure on! If there were any hiccups at all, there was one time when they took lunch that their truck unfortunately blocked a neighbor's car (of course!), but I was able to text Brian Zepeda (great guy!) who responded promptly with an estimated time of return, which proved to be both correct and alleviated the concerns of the neighbor. I honestly don't know how these guys managed the entire day and well into the evening to do all this so smoothly, including packing a lot of delicate kitchen utensils I didn't even know where to begin with, but eventually everything was finished after nearly 12 grueling hours. In retrospect, I should have tipped them way more than 20%, but hopefully this positive (and quite accurate!) review will convince others to seriously consider Pure Movers for their next moving job, whatever the size. I know I will be hiring them again, possibly very soon if I can't get this landlord situation straightened out and have already given strong recommendations to multiple acquaintances. Average experience. They moved items and communicated as well expected and were very quick. The bill was outlandish, though. They arrived almost 10 minutes late (not an issue) and finished just after 3hrs (started around 9:10 and ended around 1:07) yet still charged us for an additional hour. It came out to be almost DOUBLE what I had projected based off of the information provided on the website. $665 (including tip) for them to move five pieces of furniture, 15 minutes north. They didn't pack any additional household items or boxes anything small (per our request). This was probably the simplest move compared to those who book a whole household being packed and the price did not feel reflective of that work. I'm glad they're hopefully paid well. They were very efficient, kind, and performed our move perfectly with no issues, but the price transparency knocks them out of top tier for me. This is a very average moving company that will get the job done but doesn't go above and beyond, and that doesn't always matter to every customer so book based on your own values. read more

I would not use this company. Nice guys. The guys who moved us were friendly. Polite nice guys. However, multiple things were broken in the process. I get it things happen. One of issues with items breaking was that they broke something and took it with them to hide it. We paid for them to take apart and reassemble items in our home. Some items were put together wrong. Yes, they didn't have an instruction manual. However, don't offer the service. Plus, due to putting stuff together wrong results me breaking the items when using it and I have to take it apart, fix it and reassemble the items that is a bummer. A big one for me was not putting an item together again. Then we asked to assemble the items... they just took the pieces I needed and left. Lessons from this process. Have someone watch the movers the entire time. Stay out of the way, but watch them. Don't leave a tip. Wait until you know all your items make it to your new house in one piece. Then call and ask to leave a tip for that team. read more

Update: Alex reached out to clarify that there had been a misunderstanding -- a new employee had given me incorrect information -- and he was willing to do what it took to earn my business. To his credit, he followed up diligently and ultimately offered a not-to-exceed figure that was an hour lower than the video estimate. I chose to go with Pure Movers. They scheduled 7 movers for a ~3,500 sf, 4-bedroom house, which was 2-3 more movers than any other quote I received. I had hoped to come in under the estimated hours since most of our belongings were already packed in stackable bins, and 3 of our 4 beds were already disassembled and wrapped. Even so, the move took the full 11 hours estimated (despite being less than 3 miles away). Two of our larger dressers ended up with scrapes -- unfortunate, though not uncommon during a move. If not for the excellent crew, I might have left 4 stars, but their hard work earned them 5 stars for the overall experience. read more
