I've eaten here before and enjoyed it so I'm not sure what went wrong yesterday. There were only a half dozen tables occupied. We ordered pancakes and a sandwich. We waited and waited and the waitress said "it will be right" out and then she disappeared. We asked the hostess to check on our food and she also disappeared. After overhearing another table complain that they were waiting over an hour and not hearing back from the waitress or the hostess, we told another waitress that we had been there an hour and were leaving. She gave us an understanding nod and we left. It was surreal. read more

Diner I've been driving by Rick's for some time now and we finally had the opportunity to get in there. They are open for breakfast and lunch; we went for breakfast. Servers are efficient and pleasant - got us seated and with beverages in short order. Of note, the coffee cups were large - just perfect for someone who drinks a lot of coffee... and they were speedy with the refills as well. We had some questions on the daily specials and menu items and everything was explained cheerfully. Food portions came out and were on the large size- I'm fairly certain no one in my party actually finished their meal. Omelette was huge, hash browns and sausage were perfectly cooked. Kids had pancakes and bacon and no complaints, which says a lot. Overall a solid meal and it hit the spot. On the downside, the place needs a top to bottom scrubbing. Dust caked AC vents and baseboards and corners were gunked up. didn't hit the restroom so no comment there. Prices were average for breakfast these days. Large parking lot available. read more

We will start off with the food. The food here is absolutely amazing. I ordered the corned beef hash with the home fries and everything was cooked. Absolutely perfect. Everything tasted delicious. My wife got the pork schnitzel with the home fries and rye toast, and it was cooked perfect. it's seasoned well and crispy. It just tasted like heaven. Shout out to the kitchen crew. You guys rock here. Great job. The service here was on another level. Nichole our waitress was extremely tentative. she always had everything we needed and she's just a pleasure to be around. Everyone here was extremely friendly and very nice. It was our first time here and we will definitely be back. We absolutely love this place in the ambiance is nice. The music here they play is nice. Had lunch here recently and it was very good. We were promptly greeted and seated at a comfortable booth near the entrance. The menu had so many good options which made it hard to choose but I ended up going with the western omelette. The omelette which includes toast and hash browns, was huge! They didn't skimp on the fillings and it was cooked to perfection. I enjoyed every bite and appreciated the great service. My only criticism is the food took a long time to come out, but I can honestly say it was worth the wait. Give this place a try if you want good service and tasty, reasonably priced food. read more

We drive bricks Diner everyday and say, "We should check it out." We did just that on Sunday, Feb 9th around 1030am. Being 'brunch' time I expected it to be quite busy but it wasn't bad. We were immediately seated by the nicest hostess ever. Drink orders taken right away and menu review begun. It's an extensive breakfast & lunch menu (both served). My wife opted for the breakfast schnitzel, eggs and hashbrowns. Our server asked if she would like a biscuit or toast. The homemade biscuit was chosen--lighter than air, slightly toasted and required zero condiments! The schnitzel was huge and cooks perfectly. I chose the lunch option of a corned beef Rueben wit homemade potato salad. I have never had such tender corned beef--literally melts in your mouth! Just came from Rick's and I knew immediately something was different. Waitresses were friendly and smiling they were the best of lunch. I ordered a salad and my son had the southern Benedict. Took 45 minutes to physically get our food. The salad had tuna and chicken salad I kept thinking why does both salads taste like tuna- the chicken salad was not tasty at all the tuna was ok. Their ice tea was very good. My son felt the Benedict didn't look right but he said it was ok. New owners took over and they being new need to know why and how Ricks got a great following! read more

This is your quintessential old school diner, and it has such a great vibe paired with delicious food! The menu is complete with breakfast standards, typical lunch fair, and some specialty items sprinkled in. Their homemade biscuits are absolutely decadent and perfectly fluffy... love them! My husband often goes the breakfast route and it's always great- his eggs come as ordered every time! I'm more of a lunch person and have only ordered off the lunch menu. I've never been disappointed! The chicken cesar salad wrap is my absolute favorite. You have a choice of grilled or fried chicken, paired with perfectly fresh and crispy romaine, and the dressing used tastes delicious! I have also loved their turkey reuben, and the hot turkey plate. The hot turkey plate is served with mashed potatoes, green beans, gravy, cranberry sauce, and a biscuit. It will put you in an immediate comforting food coma! The turkey reuben (you have an option of their homemade corned beef as well to really make it a true reuben!) is delicious with the buttery grilled rye bread and coleslaw. Their french fries are crinkly cut and always perfectly fried! Their inside is out-dated but in a positive way (if that makes sense!)! It's really nostalgic of an old diner and why update it to look like every other freakin' restaurant?! The saying, "they don't make 'em like they used to" comes to mind! It's clean, and well-kept. I love that they have the food counter overlooking the semi-open kitchen area. They also have plenty of tables inside and even a couple outdoors. The service is great! We always have the wonderful blonde woman (whose name I forget, and I'm so sorry for that)! She's efficient, sweet, works hard, and is always a familiar Rick's Diner face we love to see! On our most recent visit they had homemade cinnamon rolls. HOLY HECK! This thing was the size of a medium turtle and was worth every calorie! Such a sexy, gooey, sweet treat we took home with us! Great place for breakfast. The food is always good and you don't have to wait forever to get it. The place can get quite packed quickly so if you find a table, grab it. Staff always asks to refill your drink and now you can pay at the table instead of the front counter. read more

We visited here for breakfast one day while visiting the area. The hubs was in a diner mood, so we ended up here. There was a bit of a wait to get seated, but it was only a 20 minute wait. The interior of the diner is decorated with lots of nostalgic Knick knacks to give it some charm. By the cashier they have coloring books and crayons for the young ones to grab to keep them occupied while waiting for their food. Rick's diner has a lot of variety in options to choose from. I went for the biscuits and gravy meal with a side of eggs and a choice of breakfast meat. I got the sausage links and eggs scrambled. The biscuits were nice and soft and paired well with the white sausage gravy poured in top. The sausage links were your standard sausage link. As a side I also ordered some fried green tomatoes. The fried green tomatoes tasted great and they really didn't need the sauce. Service was great as our server always checked on us. Overall it was a good meal and experience at Rick's. read more

So I have been here before and has been great. I'm gonna say an off day to be nice. First the hostess seating people who just walked in before us. Then she says you can sit at the counter unless you want to wait longer. Ok fine we go sit at the counter and of course it is not cleaned off or ready for anyone to sit there. Servers were nice except for someone asking for an extra egg which has a charge and then by the photo obviously did not eat the food. Never even asked if the food was ok. Kind of crazy to me. I wasn't starving, so just had a very delicious steak & potato soup. My husband ordered the Schnitzel and I tried some of that as well. The schnitzel was good and it was hearty portion that even he struggled to finish. In the end, he ended up with a to-go box. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu options. We stumbled upon Rick's by accident. We are sure glad we did. For the record, there is a Rick. He knows how to operate a diner with good food and good service. We stopped once, liked it so much, came back again. A few of the fan favorites were the make your own omelette. The biscuits and gravy (which appear to made from scratch) and the sweet Hawaiian pancake. The Hawaiian pancake is sweet and not for the faint of heart. It is devilish and should be ordered for the table. Doubtful anyone could make it through. But really good. Like many diners in Florida, this one sits in a strip mall. It's very clean, and offers a minimal wait before being seated. Definitely worth a try. Ricky's Diner offers White Russians but my question is aren't all the Russians white? Asking for a friend. I love some corn beef hash and that made it nice and crispy eggs over medium and hash brown with a biscuit! It was piping hot and came in no time.
