Three eggs served any way plus two strips of bacon, two sausage patties, choice of hash browns or home-fries, and a half order of French toast. All prepared perfectly, and I particularly enjoyed the hash browns! In addition to the hostess who took our drink orders, the waitress who asked if we needed anything, a dedicated coffee attendant kept making the rounds, which was greatly appreciated. My cup was never empty. As we sat enjoying breakfast, we watched as several little planes and helicopters took off and landed. Many planes were hand-painted along the top of the restaurant in a mural. Articles of local history of Okeechobee airport adorned the walls and enriched our experience. The food was super good! They offer yummy, simple breakfast options, and everything was cooked well and exactly as ordered. The hostess greeted us with kindness and had us wait in the airport lobby while our table was being prepared. The kids (and honestly anyone of any age) loved watching the planes come and go. Such a fun find! We were in the mood for breakfast and I had found this suggestion on Yelp and we were so surprised when we pulled up to the actual airport. We just assumed it was near it. The cafe is inside and seems to always be busy! They have a waiting area for this reason. The staff is extremely friendly and fast. We were seated within 15 minutes and had our food within the next 10. They have a good amount of seating indoors and plenty of parking as well. I had the Spanish omelette without cheese with hash browns and toast. The hash-browns were perfectly crisp and my omelette was fluffy and veggie filled. The pico de gallo was a great addition of flavor. Couldn't have been happier with my meal. Exactly what I was craving for breakfast. My boyfriend had the pilot's omelette with a biscuit and hash-browns. The biscuit was delicious. I would come back just to have the biscuit alone. So fluffy and light with the right amount of salt. There is not a sign but it is at the small airport in a small building on the right. Once you find it. It closes at 2pm unfortunately. The staff is mature and friendly. The staff is always busy working. The. Food was OK. I want to go back but a usually do not eat until after noon and I hate feeling rushed so I do not think it can be a place I frequent. We went to the Landing Strip Cafe for a quick breakfast, what a nice surprise. The restaurant is clean and spacious and you het to seat almost on the tarmac. The service was out of this world, they kept the coffee coming and the ladies were so diligent and sweet. The portions were huge and delicious, we had pancakes, sausages, bacon and eggs. Visited here with my pilot friend- it was his first time coming by land! The restaurant is attached to the airport and sits right on the tarmac offering great views of planes taking off and landing. The food was delicious, reasonable and filling. The menu is simple with reliable choices such as burgers. There was some good Southern food choices as well. Not what it was a year ago before the remodel. The echo is something else. They are at least putting carpet down soon which will help. Potatoes used to be fresh cut, now they are pre-packaged pre-seasoned frozen food service cubes. Onions on the potatoes used to be sauteed fresh, now they seemed to be steamed and just piled on top. Sourdough toast was only toasted on one side. Same friendly staff thank God. All in all they need to find the old formula. read more

This place has a fantastic breakfast. You will have an abundance of food at a very reasonable price. We ate there three mornings and each breakfast was excellent. One time I ordered two eggs with toast and home fries. I made the mistake of ordering pancakes too which was a mistake. Not because the pancakes were bad - they were great- but because the pancakes (a short stack) were too much for me to finish. The other individuals ordered various specials and everyone thought their meal was great. The next time I ordered three eggs over easy with toast and hash browns. That was perfect. The next thing ordered the same thing and it was perfect. All the waitresses pitch in so service is excellent. My coffee cup was never empty. Plus, the folks there are friendly and pleasant.
