Yeah, this place was okay, it was fun when I was a kid, but when I walked past it years later I have to admit that it wasn't all that great. They have the longest slippery dip in this suburb and that's just not fair for some of us who would like something similar in our backyard. Welcome to adventure land. If you can't make it to St Kilda playground, this is kinda mini (double mini version) of St Kilda. A long slippery dip awaits you and it stretches all the way down. I've seen many parents enjoy a fun ride down the slide with their kids in tow. Huge wooden timber fort awaits you in this slippery dip as you call out your mates to join you here. You'll also find a horse riding swing equipment, fantastic swings, flying fox and wait for it.....a long suspension bridge which will guarantee hours of fun, giggles and a bit of butterflies in your tummy! Plenty of benches and plenty of picnic spots to throw a rug here. The only downside I found was the council should have planted more trees here as it can get pretty hot during summer and you don't want to end up with a toasty butt on your way down the slippery dip! Overall: I heart Dunstan Playground.

My partner and I signed up around may-June. With nothing but hassle. The person that signed us up, named Riley (who has since been fired for fraud) told us nothing about signing up to a lock in contract. We only were told once the late payments happened. I went in to settle the account and also gave this Riley boy my details over the counter to then still get charged late fees and my details had gone into thin air. After expressing my frustration they told us there isn't much they can do, the fee is around $300 to get out of the contract and we can freeze our accounts but it's a $5 fee each week for both of us. Mind you we have then got an email saying that from 8/7/25-1/09 we won't be charged anything and payments start again on the 4/09/25. Keep in mind we've been over charged for late fees that wouldn't of been charged if my bank details were taken and done nothing with them, also in the "free of charge period" I was charged $60 in different transactions. I've gone in today with no help. I'm getting asked to repeat parts of the story that don't matter like that I told them I never really wanted to join but got roped in by this Riley person. Irrelevant to the whole situation? I've also somehow since the payments starting again on the 4th of september weve been charged $151.43 which im not sure how any of this adds up. What would you do, I have tried to get in contact with the regional manager whom i had to seek out her details if correct as they refuse to give me the details to pass on the matter.

This time however I discovered the park via its other entrance, around the corner on Magill Road. I truly believe this park has something for everyone. It's a stunner. This park has obviously been around for a while because there's a plaque inside saying it was opened by Don Dunstan back in 1978 but there are other notices saying it has just undergone a significant upgrade. All I can say to the Norwood Council is ... well done you guys! Great job! Not only is the park beautifully landscaped with accompanying paved areas, there is masses of seating, a playground, barbecues, toilets, a dog drinking fountain, a people drinking fountain and some great art has been created on bare walls to bring them to life as well. The quirkiest and cutest thing in the park would have to be the stump of an old tree that looks like a loo! At first I thought, what a cool seat under that tree but on closer inspection there's a hole in the centre that makes it look more like a toilet. Glad to see someone has a sense of humour when it comes to public spaces. Great park and there are good coffee shops just across Magill Road if you want to get a coffee and enjoy it outdoors. BTW I'm with Tegan - its not a little park!

I love it, so please don't come here unless you are very goodlooking, or intelligent, or interesting, or generally have something to offer, even if it's just chocolate. Otherwise, you're welcome to use it when I'm not. Thanks.

I love the variety, and that I can take classes before work, at lunchtime, or after work. Routines change every month, and each instructor puts their own twist on the routine, so if you go to multiple different classes you get a really nice variety of different styles of instruction. Everyone is knowledgeable, friendly, encouraging, and keeps me coming back for more! I have seen a noticeable change in my body, but most importantly it gives me a great place to clear my head and reboot a little bit. Ending with meditation is a real game changer. You also stretch throughout, so even after I have worked myself to exhaustion in the class, I never walk out feeling very sore. It's pricey, but worth it, since I keep going! Today men equal to those of yore battle for supremacy at MARS and long shall they be remembered in the pages of history. I play Basketball and Mixed Netball at MARS Sporting Complex in Marden. What makes this a good venue? Well firstly it is pretty close to where I live, which shortens the stank that seeps into the car seats. The three wooden floored courts are sprung and there is plenty of space to the sides of all courts, which can be a problem at some venue's (walls leave big bruises). The other thing that I like is the umpires, in particular the head netball umpire who is a champ. I think a place where the umpires take the time to get to know you is one you should keep going back to, as I have been for 15 years! One big negative is that when it is hot outside it is STUPIDLY hot inside! The aircon only encompasses the front canteen and upstairs Gym, and the 5 or 6 fans just don't cut the mustard. As mentioned, other than the three courts there is also a full gym (with classes etc) and an indoor rock climbing wall. The canteen/bar does not serve alcohol (it used to) which is a right bummer! Also keep in mind that parking can be tight on the occasions that the neighbouring soccer club has training as they choose to park in the gym parking rather than their own. P.S. the times listed are office hours, but the social games start as late as 10:30 on some evenings.

The gym upstairs, although I've never been a member, is 24 hours and accessible from its own entrance way on the side of the building. Admittedly, sometimes the staff could use a little more training in hospitality/customer service, but it's not really a place you go to get ultra high service. There are plenty of drinks and bites to eat at the kiosk, the guys running the comps always get the schedules up online in time but sometimes they get it a little wrong (they do take over the phone enquiries). If you've got a few mates that wanna chuck the ball round on a weeknight/weekend, and at least one of you can organise you all to show up each week, get in and give Mars a go. It's a sweaty fun time!

For someone who understands the basics of core strength and who has a medium level of fitness, pilates with Simon still leaves me feeling like I've done a 60 minute Body Attack class at the end (minus the beetroot, sweaty appearance). So if your only workout is changing the trying to find the television remote then this might not be the best place to start. Simon does insist you come in for an initial assessment prior to coming to the class though, so you'll know soon enough if your best left doing hand eye coordination exercises in a pub on a weekend instead. For $10 per class (or $8 if you buy a 10 class pass) you get: - 45 minutes of zen where you have no option but to purely focus on how I'm supposed to lift my leg and keep a flat stomach without straining. - New found abs and buns of steel (or just the feeling that you now have them since you will be a little tender 2 days after class - A really flexible and laid back teacher who brings as much fun into the class as possible whilst working you damn hard. It is important to note though that I do struggle with Simon sometimes getting sidetracked during class, causing him to loose count and you then ended up working one side more than another. So either be prepared to omm and move past it or cheat and do a bit of extra work to balance out those buns.

As a person working in hospitality, my work hours are very unpredictable. Naturally, I was pleased to hear the opening of 24fit - a gym I could go to at any time I wanted to fit my own lifestyle. As the name suggests, the gym is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are personal trainers and staff in the gym at particular periods of the day, but it's open to members whenever they wish to access it. The equipment is state of the art and brand new, with a range of weight machines, free weights, treadmills and much more. They also have cycling simulators with which you can race with someone adjacent to you. It's like playing a videogame, only you have to put in all the work that the cyclist is doing on the screen. It's a great way to rule out the dread of exercise and turn it into a fun activity. The security is top-notch and is a necessity for a gym that is unmonitored by staff for the majority of the day. Members gain access using an electronic keyfob, and a camera armed with face recognition software will alert personnel if the keyfob is being used by anyone other than its owner. Emergency panels are also ready inside in the case of injury or danger. The other week my girlfriend and I used the same keyfob to get in, as I'd forgotten mine at home. The next day she received a call from security staff, informing her that someone had entered the gym with her device. Despite the false alarm, it was incredibly reassuring that the security personnel is on its toes!

And I've gotta say, it's quite an experience. I'm between gyms at the moment. I've probably sunk a small fortunate in testing out gyms with which I have no membership. I guess I'm afraid of making a commitment, or I'm waiting for one to jump out at me. So far, I'd say 24fit is dancing quite happily at the top of my list. The facilities are great. All the equipment is in mint condition and very easy to use. I've a friend who has a membership here, and I heard about the place from him. I've so far attended twice and have had a huge amount of fun racing him on the virtual cyclist races. I've a feeling if I had a membership at this gym I'd build up my legs quick-smart. A great, fantastic gym. If you're looking around for one like I am, you might just settle on this one, as I'm most likely to do.
