Just got a fresh cut from LA and as always, he delivered. I've been going to him since my combover days, and now that I've grown my hair out, he's been keeping my top knot and undercut looking clean. LA got range,whether it's clippers or shears, he knows exactly what he's doing. Since I grew my hair back, I've been getting my haircut by Laurence. Haircut is done in a timely manner and the staff is very respectful. I've recently been taking my son there and 5 stars for Laurences patience and still delivering a quality hair cut. Coming from a first time parent, that means a lot. My first haircut here, and it was a very good experience. My cutter was Dylan, and he did a fine job. I am going to see how it grows out over the next few weeks, and will likely make another appointment. The shop is busy ! It's upstairs, easy to miss. All the chairs were occupied by happy clients, and the business is thriving. Parking is plentiful along the front and west sides of the strip center, and easily accessed from Plaza Blvd. Please give them at try ! read more

Honestly, This place is one of the most underrated barbershops in San Diego. I literally watched the owner spend a full 10 minutes cutting someone's cow lick to ensure the haircut turned out immaculate. I mean, the attention to detail is insane. I have been to all kinds of barbershops and even salons. Places that were overpriced, places that were rushed, and places that flat out felt like a cash grab. Fresh Invite is everything but that. These barbers are artists. The owner Justin aka "Kuya" has been cutting my hair for years, but Jay who recently started cutting me takes his sweet a** time to make sure I come out looking like a million bucks. They pay special attention to all the details and keep the customer in mind the whole time - no rush. TL;DR Quality barbershop with quality service. So I was googling around looking for fresh produce in my local area and happened to stumble upon this place on yelp. Unbeknownst to me, they didn't have any fruits or vegetables, but I did find out that they do PRODUCE the FRESHEST cuts in San Diego!!! Located in the Little Manila, on Plaza Blvd, yes I said Plaza blvd. (Even with all the traffic, it was well worth it) The shop is located in a plaza on the second floor, adjacent to Popeye's. I almost thought the barbers worked at Popeye's too because their haircuts were so damn crispy! The shop is very clean and has a modern vibe to it. I was warmly welcomed with RnB tunes and a cold beverage of choice (alch/non-alch) I was cut by the infamous @FrankThe_Barber. I've known frank for a number of years and used to play basketball with him. He never had a good fade away, but let me tell you, his fades blow me away, every time. If Frank is unavailable, Danny, Justin, or LA is my next go to. Can't go wrong with these fellas. In all seriousness, Five Star Barbershop deserves nothing less than 5 stars, obviously. I used to get haircuts from other places, but they were inconsistent. I decided to try this place out and now I always get my haircuts from Five Star. Justin is always on point and I always feel fresh after each cut. People always ask where I get my haircuts from and compliments from random people are always nice too (lol). Just keep in mind this location is by appointment only for now, but their other location that accepts walk-ins is just a mile away and is just as amazing. read more

However, the last year or so the quality of service has fallen so far down that I will not be going back and I think people should steer clear of this location. I gave them two, even three chances to redeem themselves, but the last straw for me was when came in and requested a "modern mullet" style haircut and even had an example. The cut I got is so terrible I actually felt the need to tell him myself before leaving. To make things worse the cut is practically not able to be saved and I might have to go straight to a buzz cut. I hope this helps someone make their decision.

I did walk-in and thankfully didn't have to wait, but I could imagine them getting busy. My nail tech Nataly was the absolute sweetest! She kept making sure I was comfortable throughout the service and was really sweet. The pedicure itself was clean. The color selection is solid and the prices are pretty good. The staff were very kind and supportive and helping helping me look for my phone could not find it. They were so kind and reviewing their security cameras and found that I walked out of the salon with my phone, and I eventually found it stuck on the side of my car seat. They went above and beyond the norm and assisting me and I am so thankful for the great and positive customer service and the quick response from them and helping me locate my phone this place is great.
