Lived here for 3 years while I went to UT. CONS: The building was so poorly built it's really falling a part. Leaking ceilings, cracks in walls, roach problems, I even had a bird come in through the poorly installed dryer vents and they had to cut a hole in my ceiling to get it out after it kept me up for weeks chirping completely blocked the dryer vent. Rude and unhelpful manager/owner. Never fixed the leak in our ceiling, just put in some fans. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the whole building had a huge mold problem. And to top it off, the 3ft pool that never gets sun is a joke. PROS: Friendly assistant managers that switched out every year or so. Free snacks maybe once a month in the lobby. I lived at The Pointe for my junior and senior years at UT! My room was 10 x 16 with a modern style bathroom and a HUGE closet. I was able to have both my summer and winter clothes from home plus room to store bags and boxes of misc. items. The best part of my room was that 1/2 of one of my walls was glass/a door leading toward a balcony/myplants, with a hillside country view. But enough about the style, let's move on to the leasing office staff/maintenance. The complex is kept clean for the most part. Remember, college kids are super dirty and there are parties here A LOT bc of how big the apartments are. I WISH dogs were allowed but they are new apartments so maybe in a couple years. read more

TL;DR: Do not live here. There are cockroaches everywhere, the walls are crazy thin, and the manager will only listen to you if your parents personally go and complain. Considering the fact that you're paying between $900-$1700 (and the prices are INCREASING), there are so many better places to live in west campus. Also, they bribe their residents to leave 5 star reviews, in case you're wondering why their ratings are so high. My experience living at this location has been easily one of the worst of my life. Let's start with my first year at this location. Although I signed and paid for a fully furnished apt, my apt was completely empty when I moved in.I had to go to the front office and BEG for a bed, because I had nowhere else to go. Despite the fact that it was their fault, they continuously expressed that at least I had managed to get a bed so last minute. I had to go to the front office every single week to ask them when my furniture would arrive, for them to tell me that I just had to wait a little longer with a BS excuse that it was in storage somewhere. That being said, I wasn't even given the curtesy of talking to the manager, Angela, because of their policy. Instead, my parents had to come and sit in the front office, wasting their own time (for hours at a time), until she finally came out to address them. When my father went to complain, Priscilla told him that he was being "aggressive" and threatened to call the police. I got my furniture after already living there for about half a year. Apart from that, the pool was regularly under construction, the walls are insanely thin, and there was a very obvious humidity problem because there were silverfish in every apt I went to. Then, I signed again under the premise that they had changed their furniture policy and that the furniture from the year before would already be there when I moved in. I was completely wrong for believing that they would be any better than the year before. This time, I had to wait about an hour to get the right key for my apt because they messed up. Then, my apt wasn't clean-even though we paid for it to be clean-because they hadn't scheduled it properly. The washing machine didn't work properly, the water filter in the fridge was already old and moldy, and I was told that I couldn't close the door to the laundry room because the apt wasn't set up properly and that could cause humidity problems. After all this, the cockroach problem started. I had to gas my apt, and couldn't sleep the entire night because I could hear them walking around. By the time it stopped and I cleaned up, I found three dead cockroaches. It only got worse from there. They started to become a weekly occurrence, and it got to the point where I couldn't sleep or eat because they were always there. My parents and I continuously went to the front office again, asking to speak to the manager, Angela, and scheduling multiple different extermination sessions because they kept coming back. I even had a "deep clean" extermination (for which I had to pack up my entire apt), which Angela promised would get rid of them, only for the cockroaches to be back in a week. Then they examined my apt and found holes in the walls, and said the cockroaches were because of that. They weren't. When my mom went to complain again, and ask for weekly exterminations of my apt (which were more a detriment to me because the exterminator goes every Wednesday anyways), Angela told her no and yelled at her for sitting in her lobby until she came out. She also had the audacity to correct my mom, explaining that it was not a cockroach infestation because there weren't more than twenty in a day. We asked the front desk workers if they had gotten any other complaints, and they lied and said no. We know that it was a lie because we personally spoke to other residents who admitted that they saw some every once in a while. When we asked to break the lease, they told us that they couldn't let us do that but instead we would have to sublease it to someone else, thereby subjecting a stranger to deplorable living conditions or keep paying $1500 a month. read more

So far this experience has been terrible. I signed a lease for a 4x4 apartment with 3 other people, so each person would have a private room and bathroom. And obviously they have not finished construction in time for move-in. So instead of putting us in a different apartment or hotel room like every other management company in Austin has done, they stuck us in dobie which is a 2-star freshman dorm built in the 70s and not renovated since then. And to make matter even better they put us all in shared bedrooms no matter what your lease says. So welcome back to shared room dorm life. But that's not even the worse part. Dobies room were apparently designed for people who are less than 4'6" because everything in the room is tiny. The show head is about chest level so I have to take showers bent over. And the shower itself is less than 2' wide. The toilet which is also stuck in that tiny 4x5 room nearly fits next to the shower and the toilet paper dispenser literally sticks into your side when you sit on it. The toilet bowl itself is not big enough to actually use normally so that's fun. And the beds feel like they have been there since it opened in the 70s. They are basically just a spring and a board with no padding. The best part is we can see the actual building from our room at dobie. And in the last week that I have been looking I have seen 0 workers on the building. Like literally not a single worker. You would think if a complex is 2 months behind they would actually have people working on it. So far this experience has been completely unacceptable. Especially for a "luxury" apartment that want to charge ~$800/month for a room w/o parking. read more

I lived at Pointe on Rio for my junior and senior years at UT. We had a 4x4 (private bedroom and private bathroom). The structure and actual construction of the building is so unbelievably below average. The windows are sealed; the apartment gets cold when it's cold outside and gets hot when it's hot outside. The kitchen appliances are cheap and sometimes do not work at all. Each one of the bedrooms has different lights installed so some are super dim/dark and others are super bright. When we moved in, there were already markings and scraped up wood floors from the previous residents. The air filters from the a/c unit haven't been changed in over two years. The management staff comes off as accommodating and very friend first, customer second, but beware. They do not actually care for residents and the fact that we are all broke college kids. Rent anywhere in West Campus is going to be expensive, but Pointe is relatively cheap surprisingly. The walls are so very thin too. We hear everything that happens in the unit above us late at night on weeknights. We've put in noise complaints, but again the management staff could care less. You can hear everything that happens in the apartment inside the walls of your own room. Also, you can hear the construction, sirens, people talking from down below. The only positive thing I have to say about Pointe is the location. You're close to a Chick-Fil-A, to McCombs/PCL/UTC, and relatively close to Cain & Abel's. We pay a considerable amount for utilities as well. We all pay a divided amount and if you did the math, utilities are about $200 total for a four person apartment per month. That's more than my parents pay utilities for their entire home. Also, the actual infrastructure of the place is so below average. About once a month, the fire alarm will go off in the entire complex either at 8am on a random Wednesday or at 11pm on a random Sunday. There are so many things to fix in this place, they should just sellout and let some other property developer rebuild a nicer place for UT students. I was so excited to live at the Pointe but after a few months, I don't think management is doing as good a job as they should be. The building while new, is not the best quality. The elevators break on a regular basis. No one ever cleans the stairwells so there is trash everywhere and disgusting spills on the stairs. Maintenance is extremely slow. My roommates' water heater was broken and it took over a month for them to fix it. They barged into the apartment 3+ times a week, disrupting my sleep. Maintenance has keys to the whole place so they can literally come in whenever they want. Management is slow to take action on everything. It took too long to get my move-in gift card. After the flash flooding last weekend, it took too long to respond to the water leakage in my apartment. Now management has sent in this company to dry up my apartment with loud, massive fans but it doesn't fix the actual problem and it makes the quality of life worse for everyone in the apartment. This is just a cheaper way to try to appease residents without actually spending the money to fix the leaks. I think the Pointe should also enforce quiet after a certain hour. This open building plan means I can hear everyone else and it is the apartment's responsibility to make sure it provides a good atmosphere for residents. People blast their music and shout until 5 am, and it makes it hard for me to sleep. The amenities are ok. The fitness room is nice. The pool table is cleaned up so you can't play at night. The printer is pretty spotty. It took them a long time to refill the ink. Overall, it's not the best deal for the amount of rent you pay. The best thing about the place is that everyone has individual leases and therefore cannot be held accountable for their roommates' fees. read more

I've had problems with this establishment, but the admin office employees go to great lengths to ensure that their residents are at least heard and answered. The location is ok, close to restaurants and a 7-8 min walk to campus. The facilities are below average: some fitness equipment is overused and broken, structure was quickly built so walls are super thin/non-soundproof, and construction is almost everywhere around West Campus. Interactions with the front office have been helpful, and the rent is almost average for West Campus. The apartment style rooms are also a bit below average; you can definitely tell the building was put up as quickly and cheaply as possible. I really wish I had good things to tell people about Pointe. Besides its location and beautiful view (if you're facing MLK), everything apart from that starts to go bad. Since day one my experience has been bad. They signed me and of my roommates to the same room. Which means that I currently live in a room that I never signed up for. Whenever we get heavy rains, it also rains inside the apartment, but don't worry! You'll get at least 3 giant fans in your room that can't be turned off for at least a week. Your electricity bill will go up 3 times and they won't compensate you for that. Also, we don't get hot water for more than 3 minutes in the shower. If your fridge breaks down and you lose all of your groceries, they also won't compensate you for that - it's not their responsibility. Ah! The printer always runs out of ink too! Because students apparently just "print too many things out".. they don't keep back up ink either. If I were to renew my lease it would be because of Sherri. She takes care of the maintenance of the building and she's the most friendly and helpful person around. Thanks Sherri! You make the Pointe experience a little more tolerable. read more

Time for an update. Unlike most reviews, I will not be strictly commenting on the customer service; that would be like going to a restaurant and only writing about your waiter. That being said, since one of the top 100 worst managers in the U.S. and one of the top 10 worst employees in U.S. are no longer working here, the current staff is great! We get it, they don't have anything to do with the delay. However, imagine going to a restaurant labeled "upscale" or "luxurious", placing your order, and then you wait. Then the waiter comes out and tells you 5 times that your food will come out in the next hour. The last of those 5 time she/he tells you that it will actually be 3 more hours until you get your food. So they give you free French fries while you wait. You ordered surf and turf and when the food finally arrives, 6 hours later, you get some scrawny shrimp and half a piece of a some beef fajitas. That's not even what you ordered! That is exactly what happened at The Pointe and they offered zero explanations as to why that might have happened or why there was a delay. But since the staff is great, you should act as if that never happened! Could you imagine that happening to you and then having the staff's friends tell you it's completely fine because the staff is great! No! That's not how it works. Nobody took responsibility for the epic delay this property had. Nobody! Then when we did move in, they waited to tell us, after we had all of our things packed in boxes and waiting outside to check in, that we must sign an agreement stating that we would be fine with having no access to the amenities while construction was still going on. It also included that we would still have to pay full rent and not say a word, even thought the loudest banging and drilling would continue for an unspecified amount of time. If that doesn't sound like something that would make you upset, I don't know what would. Living here today, you'd think construction is an amenity! Also, don't go off the reviews on their website... they are obviously all hand-picked reviews about the staff. Majority are also mainly from before we even moved into the building. There isn't even a place to submit reviews on their website so why would you even trust that as a source? Check any other source like Yelp and you'll get a better idea. Anyway, the current staff is great and hasn't caused any confusion and that's all I have to say about service. Now for the actual building. You would think this place would be complete after a 6 MONTH DELAY during a school year and having us live at Dobie. Well, it isn't. Today, 3 days short of 10 MONTHS AFTER the original August move in date, there is still LOUD banging and drilling every week and sometimes every day of the week. As I am typing this up, there is construction going on straight outside my window. Also, don't bother looking at the renderings they have posted on their website. The actual building only looks like 70% of those pictures. The website also claims the building has "solid bedroom doors to minimize noise" and "electronic key access... at the front door of each unit." That is 100% not true. I am sitting in my room with the door closed and I can here my roommate's laptop across our 5 bedroom apartment and we live on complete opposit sides of the apartment about 80 feet away from each other. The main point about I would like to make is that this building labels itself as "the premier living option in Austin with luxury living at an affordable price." A short visit while walking through the garage-like hallways and rusty courtyard and I'm sure there won't be any confusion about how luxurious this place is. My roommates and I decided to stay here because we did not want to go through a 3rd move in less than a year and that's really the only reason we're staying another year. Last thing is like to add, please don't believe the manager if they tell you something along the lines of, "good luck finding another apartment in West Campus! They're all 99% full!" I was actually told that around March this year and I have 2 witnesses. In March! Most places are probably lucky to be 75% full at that point. That being said, would I recommend this place to someone else? Possibly. The room itself isn't too bad and that's where you'll be spending about 90% of your time here. However, when you look at how much you're paying, I don't think there is a great value here. Especially when you're paying for "upscale" or "luxury." You want to see luxurious? Walk across the street. I can easily think of two buildings only a block or two away that can actually live up to the title of luxurious/upscale. Maybe I'll change my mind if they actually ever finish construction here. As for now, I am still pretty bitter about the way I was treated by the past two managers. Everyone has their own experience here. That doesn't mean me being forced to move rooms at Dobie in the middle of the semester last year didn't happen. read more

I know this sounds dramatic, but living at Pointe on Rio severely degraded my mental health and well being. Please don't be fooled by the high Google maps reviews. Words can't describe the experience I had living here for the past 2 years, but even if writing this review prevents 1 person from living here, it will be worth it. 1. The architecture and infrastructure of this complex is appalling. I lived in two different unit styles on different floors, and yet I had constant problems with cockroaches, fruit flies, and silver fish. I am not the kind of person who opens windows or even leaves my room/bathroom door open, but the bugs found a way through their shoddy architecture. When I lived on the ground floor, my carpet would soak when it rained. (HOW?!) And with rain came the mold. And with mold came the creatures. 2. I really can't emphasize this enough... the property management does not care about you or your happiness. Maintenance requests, even as simple as fixing a running toilet, would take days to complete. My apartment's wood flooring was done so cheaply that the black glue started to seep up from the floor cracks and ruin our socks and shoes; they didn't come and fix it for months. I once had an expensive package delivered to Pointe and UPS confirmed someone had signed for it with "STAFF." Yet, Pointe told me that it "probably got delivered to the wrong place"... and they refused to tell me who was working at the time and day it was delivered. If the seller didn't agree to send me a replacement, I would have filed a police report against Pointe for stealing my package. 3. Parking is a nightmare and the towing company is extremely predatory. Be careful. Within a month of living at Pointe, I was towed in the garage... that I paid monthly to park in. I was out $250. They claimed I parked in a "reserved" spot but the paint was so faded that I didn't even notice it. (Why not have 'reserved' signs on the walls if you really cared about your residents...?) They refused to help or even acknowledge my complaint. 4. Lastly... living here was by far my worst living experience. Period. (And I've lived in college dorms.) Coming home was dark, dreary, and not at all welcoming. I hated coming home so much that I'd sit at chipotle for 2-3 hours to avoid it and I never once had a guest over my place. The only good thing about Pointe is the location. But trust me, it's not worth it. I've been living elsewhere for less than a week and already feel so much happier. I'd definitely recommend living here to anyone. The management is super nice and friendly and they all know me and my roommates by our first names. They respond pretty quickly to maintenance requests, and there is often free food and always free coffee in the lobby. The lounge downstairs is bright, clean and modern with lots of amenities. The gym is small but packed with new quality equipment. The apartments themselves are all very well appointed with large modern kitchens, heavy doors and beautiful floor to ceiling windows that open onto Juliet balconies. Try to get a backyard, Waterloo, or Krause floor plan for spectacular downtown views. If you want quiet at the expense of a good view, get a unit facing the pool or courtyard. Personally I prefer the units that face outward onto Rio Grande st or MLK Blvd as they are all sun drenched with views. They always have nice promotions going on and the prices are very fair and competitive, especially considering the convenient location and large, beautiful apartment interiors. Two downsides worth noting: the pool and interior courtyard are pretty drab and not really worth using imo. And also they had promised a $500 gift card for my friend referral, but then switched that to an account credit that has still never been added. Most of the residents are pretty quiet and this is not really on the party side of west campus. All in all I have renewed my lease for a second year at Pointe and I would reccomend it to anyone! read more

Whatever you do DO NOT SIGN A LEASE WITH THIS PLACE!!!!!!! So many things went wrong while my daughter lived here and the things she told me about this place are straight out of a nightmare. Parents: if you want to ensure the safety and well being of your kids, please don't subject them to this horrid hell. First off, if you ever wanna have any friends come and spend the night, there is absolutely NO visitor parking, and if you park in their future resident spots they WILL TOW YOUR VEHICLE. If you want to add ONE parking spot to your lease, it is $100 a month and only the car ON FILE is able to park there, if you park a different car in your spot that you authorized for it to be there they will STILL TOW THAT VEHICLE!!! Also, if you want to have any friends stay more than one night there is a rule written in their lease saying you can't have guests stay for 2 consecutive nights or else you are violating the lease and you WILL be charged a fine. If you want a social life at all this is NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU!!! Second, the entire building is made very very poorly. My daughter lived on the 6th floor and she could hear somebody sneeze OUTSIDE on the street. The elevators are constantly broken leaving you to take the stairs and that's not fun when you live on the sixth floor. There is also a horrible pest problem. My daughter has found numerous roaches and even poisonous brown recluse spiders in the bathroom and kitchen. Every time she told management about it they completely ignored her. My biggest concern was the maintenance guys. They would barge into the apartment WITHOUT WARNING while my daughter would be hanging out in the common areas (living room, kitchen) in her undies. She felt completely uncomfortable and violated. They showed no remorse and never apologized. The best part is that after your lease ends and they find all the little things that need to be fixed in the apartment after the funds from the security deposit have been completely depleted, they will send the bill to a collection agency without mailing it to you first which then completely destroys your credit without you even knowing!!! The management team was very helpful during the lease signing. After reading through the contract and having multiple questions about certain clauses I attempted to call the office. The phones were very busy and I could barely get a call in throughout the hour. I came into Austin to have my questions answered in person and Pricilla was very friendly, patient, and very helpful. She spent over two hours helping me go through the lease, answering any questions I had, and showing me the different apartment plans that were available. The customer service was fantastic! I cannot say anything about the living situation, but she made the signing process a lot less stressful that what I have experienced at other places in west campus. read more

Are you serious, Pointe on Rio?! This is beyond unprofessional and I would be utterly embarrassed if I were them. I was the one of the first people to sign the lease all the way back in fall 2013. I am supposed to be moving into an efficiency. I wanted to room by myself because I'm taking my MCAT in October and I didn't want any distractions whatsoever. Now I may have to live in Dobie, which I've heard horrible things about. I even asked if it would be possible to have a single occupancy since that's what I wanted in the first place and unfortunately, they said they couldn't provide that option. Ha. Absolutely ridiculous. I'm appalled by how this entire situation has been handled. I'm supposed to be focused on studying for my MCAT, but this debacle has me completely frazzled. This place should never have been handing out contracts if they weren't going to be ready to house students fall 2014. They blatantly lied to us about when the apartment would be ready. I'm a transfer student and planned to live here in a 1/1 because I have a hard science major and am older. Instead, I get to live in a dorm with a random roommate like an 18 year old (possibly until October 15) all because this apartment failed to honor its contract. Update: Pretty sure my grades are going to tank this semester because of this terrible, terrible living situation. I needed a one bedroom to study and manage my workload. They promised me a one bedroom and then forced me to stay in a dorm. Where I can't get any work done. I do go to the library yes, but cannot carry all my books with me. I can't do it all, like I could if I had an actual bedroom. Near-freaking impossible. My roommate never leaves the room, I have suite mates, and our beds are two feet apart. And they just sent us emails about getting ACL tickets. Not everyone has time to go to ACL! Some of us have miserable majors! It's pretty clear where their priorities lie - not with the student. Let me start off by saying that my father is a structural engineer, and we have been keeping an eye on the Pointe on Rio construction site since I signed a lease with them. I have called the leasing office once a week all summer, since we knew around April that there was no way they could possibly have it built on time. Every single time we called, the realtors lied about their progress. They even went as far as to say that windows had been put in a month before they actually were, something anyone with eyes could see was not true. They waited until the very end of July to admit that they were over a month behind schedule, and they only admitted it after you called their office. They waited until the beginning of August to notify the people who hadn't bothered to call to find out about the building's progress (or lack there of). Also, the Pointe on Rio took my debit card information down when I signed my lease in November to charge for a security deposit. They did not charge my card until the middle of July, around the time they admitted the building was not going to be ready on time. There is no reason that they should already be charging a security deposit if I can't even move into my apartment for another two months. There is no way that they haven't known about this construction delay for months, and I fail to see why they didn't mention it to their residents sooner. I wish I could say that I think things will get better once we move in, but I don't. A management team that continually keeps their residents in the dark is not going to be fun to deal with in the future. read more

I like the modern interior, the big windows, the various amenities they offer. They have a Starbucks coffee bar open every day, a 24 hour fitness center, and even a standing tanning bed! The maintenance is always quick to resolve any issues reported and the office staff works quick to provide help with anything they can! I came across Pointe on Rio when I was shopping for apartments before my first semester at UT. The amenities looked nice and I signed a lease for a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom. Management told me it was going to house 3 people total. About a month later I received an email introducing me to my roommates. There were 5 names in the email, which included mine. I thought this was a glitch and emailed management because they told me there was only going to be 3 people living there. Management confirmed it was NOT a glitch and that I was not going to have 4 roommates altogether. 2 people for each of the rooms and bathrooms. "Of course," they told me, "you can still keep your bathroom and bedroom to yourself." This was NOT what they had originally told me. Sharing a small kitchen, refrigerator, and living room with 5 people is not what I signed up for! Not to mention my roommates' boyfriends, girlfriends, and friends would probably hang out at the tiny apartment too. Pointe on Rio LIED to me and they are UNPROFESSIONAL. Facilities are nice, but the building still only feels half finished. Water damage was never fully resolved. Rent is through the roof for the size of the units. Security could be better. I created a yelp account specifically to warn the public about the absolute atrocities that go on courtesy of The Pointe on Rio. Do you love being woken up at 7:28 in the morning by endless construction? Do you enjoy being ganged up on by management? If having The Pointe on Rio's construction team come into your room, rip your curtains from the wall, and throw them all over your bedroom floor sounds like a dream to you, then The Pointe on Rio is your utopia! I can't stress this enough. Run far, and run fast. This has been hands down the worst experience I have ever had with a company. Ever. No comparison. I won't go into the details, because if I did, then this review would need to be published and would have roughly as many pages as the Encyclopedia Britannica. But I'll give you a brief idea of the trouble I have faced with this company - if you can even call it one. 1.) If you scroll down just a tad, and read the reviews by fellow Pointe on Rio residents, you'll see that this "company" successfully stressed out many UT students by denying us move in before classes started. Yes, they provided living arrangements at Dobie, but if we wanted to live at Dobie, we would've signed a lease with them... 2.) As I am writing this, I cannot hear myself think because there is a construction worker RIGHT OUTSIDE my window; and by "right outside" I mean he is literally hanging off my balcony. It is now 9:00 a.m. This construction has been going on since 7:28 in the morning, which means I am officially awake for the day. Thanks for the free wake-up call, Pointe on Rio! 3.) Speaking of balconies... They advertise luxurious "balconies" that are impossible to actually hang out on; they are less than a foot deep. A small child wouldn't even be able to comfortably stand on them. Balconies, or lack thereof, are just one of the many things that we were promised when we signed a lease with The Pointe on Rio. The majority of the amenities we were promised never actually came to fruition, but they'll never take responsibility for that. 4.) In general, this "company" should advertise amenities that are actually included - like endless lies and disappointment. I could keep going, but I'm sure y'all get the idea. This place is a mess, and I'm counting down the days until I move out. Oh, one more thing. I guess I can't forget to mention the one and only positive thing The Pojnte on Rio has going for them because that wouldn't be fair! Their fire alarm works wonderfully! It mostly randomly goes off at night and early in the morning when you're either sleeping or showering, but at least it works, right? read more

Except for the overpopulation of crickets on the property for about 2 weeks, and occasional breakdown of one of the two elevators, it's been a pleasant stay. Maintenance requests are fulfilled quickly, gym is always kept clean, lounge area is pretty chill, and sound levels are not too loud. Overall, I like it way better than reviews that were written for when Pointe delayed the move-in. read more

My experience with Pointe on Rio for the past two years have been terrible. Simply, management is just aweful and they care about money more than te customers desires. A great example is when my garage key batteries died and management told me that I have to go to "Target" or somewhere else to get it fixed. I am paying a lot of money for rent and they had the nerves to redirect me somewhere else because 'replacing the key is too expensive' on their part. Those were the exact words. All in all, don't sign with Pointe. They have too many problems and never approach it in a reasonable manner. read more

Stay away from Pointe on Rio! People living there party every night and make unbearable noise. I've complained about this with staffs 7 times and nothing been done! I've also confronted the neighbors many times but those people continued making noise anyway. read more

If you want to live somewhere with horrible head management, a poorly structured building, no hot water, and appliances that always break, live here. Besides for the fact that the head management is extremely unhelpful and constantly messes up the paperwork, everything about the structure of the building is awfulllllllll. When it rains heavily, water comes through the ceiling and nothing has been done to fix this. The appliances are always breaking. Our refrigerator has been broken for several days and the building wont even offer compensation for the damages. The printer is rarely working because the building does not even keep backup ink so don't bother on relying on the building for your printing needs. The building is barely cleaned so there is always trash everywhere. Also, there is only hot water for 4 mins at most and the inside of the building looks like a creepy hospice. So unless you like spending a lot of money for a building that's falling apart, don't live here. read more

Personally love living here. The staff has gone above and beyond for all the residents. There are some minor things that could use fixing but that's expected when the building is brand new. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice place to live close to campus & close to downtown Austin. read more

I've lived here for almost a week now, and although that's not a very long time, I've had no problems! I love how spacious my apartment is, and the staff here has been great. My only complaint would be that since I live on the second floor, I get a lot of noise from the street, but I guess that's normal for the location of the building! Things that I've found to be really great are the bike racks in the garage (and the garage for parking my car), the coffee machine downstairs, and all the amenities the building offers! read more

This place doesn't even deserve one star. The management is terrible and they do not care about your needs what so ever. The elevator acts up along with their workout machines and the parking issue is ridiculous. No guest parking or they will get towed. If I could do It all over again I would never live here. Kitchen and living room is tiny along with my bedrooms. The management is not consistent with their word, they will tell me one thing one day and something completely different the next. read more

A few months ago, I signed a lease for a 3x3 with Pointe. The apartment is beautiful, amenities are nice, the place is clean with new appliances. So why the bad review? Read on... I am awakened every morning at 5 AM by loud hammering, drilling and beeping, not to mention the construction workers shouting at the top of their lungs right outside my window. A few weeks after moving in, the building next door to Pointe was torn down, and a new apartment complex is being built. The construction is completely disruptive, to the point where you can feel the ground moving beneath your feet as they drill away at the bedrock. No one at Pointe bothered to warn us or let us know that this construction would be happening. from 5AM to 7PM (sometimes later) it is NONSTOP HAMMERING AND DRILLING. no, they just let us sign the leases and pay a ton of money per month in rent so we could live in this noisy environment. Had I known how bad it would be I would have lived someplace else. DON'T LIVE HERE! When my roommates and I went to the leasing office to complain, they claimed they 'didn't know the construction would be happening'. I call BS on that claim, the site next door had to have notified Pointe before starting construction. It's loud, it's obnoxious, it disrupts my sleeping, studying, or even conversations. That's right, I HAVE TO SHOUT TO BE HEARD IN MY OWN APARTMENT. And, to make matters worse, the construction is happening right outside our window, so you'll come home to see a bunch of men in hard hats looking at you through the glass. When I asked about this issue, the leasing manager said to 'dress appropriately'. It's my apartment, I should dress how I want. The construction won't be ending until summer 2018 at least. if you need an apartment before then, I suggest you look somewhere else. read more

The Pointe on Rio staff are very patient, accommodating, and sweet. They worked with our large group to find the optimal apartment layouts/leases and were professional and kind throughout the whole process. My first impressions of the apartment are very positive, and I look forward to living there next year! read more

Thieves. Pros: decent facilities Cons: They scrape all the money possible. Ex) The renewal is supposed to be done by the end of the year and we need to pay for the application fees and other fees.
