Came here with my six-year-old son and wife. We watched the Beauty and the Beast Jr play. It was a great experience. The young people did very well. I was intrigued by the stage and how they managed to appeal to people no matter where they sat. I'd love to come see another production. read more

My son just hasn't found an activity he wants to stick with. Drama was his latest last year. He absolutely loved the class/performances. Me and the kids watched a performance of The Jungle Book by Poison Apple at Lesher last weekend. I was struck by the youth of some the actors, thinking... *no way my kids would be ready for that*... Every actor was a joy to watch, and happily greeted fans after the show. (Fondly remembering Shere Kahn, King Louie, and Colonel Hathi mostly and that one tree...) Well done, cast. My daughter has been involved with Poison Apple for a little over a year now, is currently in her fourth production, and our family could not be happier with how much she has grown, not only as a performer, but as a young lady as well, thanks to her involvement with Poison Apple. The staff is devoted to providing a welcoming, supportive environment in which children of all ages can learn, while challenging themselves to go beyond what they think can do. Besides opportunities to perform, Poison Apple offers a variety of classes such as acting, writing, stage combat, technical theater, and stage makeup so if your child isn't ready to perform or prefers to be behind the scenes, there's a place for her/him. As for the cost of tuition, it is very reasonable. Prior to coming here, my daughter auditioned for another nearby theater and unfortunately we had to decline because they were asking $1500 plus volunteer hours. While Poison Apple expects parents to volunteer, they are flexible and can help you figure out what you can do if you think you have no skills. My only regret is I didn't discover Poison Apple sooner! read more

If you are looking for a theatre company for kids this is the place. My 3 children have discovered a love for acting ever since they walked in the door 5 years ago. My oldest has found it the one place that he can be himself around a great group of peers and staff. This is a place that includes everyone who has a love of theatre. When I think of Poison Apple Productions, the first word that comes to mind is LOVE. My 15 year old daughter has been with Poison Apple for 8 years, my 12 year old daughter for 4 years, and my 7 year old son for a couple years and we dare go NO where else. Poison Apple has become our Family. With learning disabilities and special needs, they've taken us with open arms, and strive to make our children better actors and people. We are truly blessed to have the hard work and commitment of such experienced staff and volunteers. We have been with Poison Apple for 8 years. My 3 oldest kids have participated in many productions. My 4yr old daughter has also enjoyed her preschool theater class. We saw the current production of "Guys and Dolls" yesterday, put on by Poison Apple Productions at the Lesher Theatre. The actors were all young and filled with exuberance. They obviously were having fun as they participated in stage fights (including a bottle smashed on one actor's head!), and musical/dance numbers. They knew their lines, the music, the staging... and had obviously worked on the accents and attitudes of the different characters. It was absolutely charming. read more

I like the way they work with all the kids. They are a great place to get your kids stared in theater all sides of theater and volunteering for a non-profit organization in their community.Cost are more than reasonably a lot cheaper than other theater groups. Keep up the good work. read more

Love, Love, Love Poison Apple. I feel it is such a safe and great environment for kids. My son loves it and has been in several shows already. He learns a lot from staff to include, singing, dance and acting of course! They have such great productions for children of all ages. Although it is a drive for us, we wouldn't think about going anywhere else. read more

We found Poison Apple 5 years ago and my children have been participating ever since then. They have helped them grow in so many ways. Noelle and all the staff there are so wonderful and their productions are truly fun to watch. My children have loved coming here and the staff helps everyone grow and doesn't just focus on "lead" roles. I highly recommend them if you are looking for theater classes for your kids. read more

My child has been attending workshops at PAP since 2013 when she auditioned for their big summer show, performed at the Lesher Center. Since then we've fell in love with PAP. My child since has taken many classes, from Apple Seeds (ages 7-12), Apple Teens (ages 11-18), Costume Class and Prop Construction. Each class helps her learn more about the whole experience of the theater and gives her new outlook about all aspects of what it takes to create a stage show! She's been on stage, and she's worked behind the scenes. The shows performed at the Playhouse are small and intimate. The shows performed at the Lesher are a bit more Grand! The tuition is not very expensive, especially if you compare it to others in the area. Also, they offer evening and weekend classes to accommodate non-working and working parents. We looked into another local theater co, but all of their classes were right after school, and not accommodating to the working parent, or single parent. PAP has their own on-site costume shop where volunteers tirelessly create costumes, sometimes from Scratch! They offer costume classes to the kids as well, and the kids can learn how to sew and how to put costumes together. My child learned a lot in this class and loved it! So much so, she took it twice! We've had no issues with any of the staff, everyone has been welcoming and comfortable. No bullying allowed, no negativity allowed, the staff is very good about keeping the kids in a positive and safe environment. Lastly, my child has grown emotionally and has matured significantly while participating at Poison Apple. I would recommend this place to everyone I know. read more

Poison Apple's Beauty and the Beast Jr. was an amazing performance in every aspect - from the sets, costumes, props - but the best part was seeing all of the young actors having so much fun performing and they all did an incredible job! The office manager is a very overbearing, bossy, and rude lady!! She should not be allowed to interact with the children or the public. My child's production was very disappointing. After 3 months of rehearsals, none of the children with speaking parts seemed to know their lines and had to have their lines prompted from off stage. It seemed more like a poorly rehearsed school play than a stage production. The tickets were $11 each, even for family members, and we were not allowed to buy many tickets. The class tuition was very expensive, as well. It is certainly not worth the money or the time invested. My child seemed to enjoy the classes but I am not convinced that the students were actually taught any theatre arts or skills. read more

My daughter just did her first show with Poison Apple Productions, and she LOVED it! The directors and cast were all great, and it was such a great experience for her. It was the worst theater experience my kid has experienced. The young female director, the theater owners daughter acts nice to the parents then throws fits with the kids during the final weeks and threatens to kick them out of the show if they don't get their act together. She has a reputation with the kids who've been around this company of always making someone in the cast cry. Who wants this for their kids!?!?! The director's team is over ambitious with its work schedule, usually nonprofessional, and haven't had nearly enough practical experience in life or the theater to know right from wrong or what's too much for young children. The overall experience is making kids tired and grumpy at home and leaves few kids with a passion to continue in theater. This place is a real dream squasher, which is so sad since theater can be so positive for kids. Please think before you let your kids go to such a negative place. They aren't kidding about the poison here. read more
