Poke Bowl - Regular (2 Proteins)

Super disappointed. I just paid $35 to get pokeworks delivered and I paid extra for more toppings... it was missing so many toppings and the extra sauce on the side that I paid for. DoorDash won't issue me a refund. Stomach empty, money wasted, and now cranky. Annoyed is an understatement.

Soooo yummy! Wow! Finally, found a legit poke bowl place in Knox! Sashimi was fresh, tons of topping for everyone's pallet and the price was moderate! Score! For lunch, I ordered the 2 protein (Spicy Tuna and fresh salmon). Base: I chose half brown rice and half salad. Sauce: Pokeworks Classic Sauce and Spicy mayo Toppings: Crab Salad, edamame, mango, furikake, shredded seaweed, cucumber, green onions, won tons chips, onion crisps, and added Avocado (highly recommended). If you like sashimi or poke, give this place a try! Recommended for lunch.

If you're a sucker for create-your-own meals & you're craving something light, Pokeworks is a must-have. The menu options are extensive from burrito-sized sushi to bowls and nachos. The price per person is about $12-15 and filled with fresh ingredients. You can order pre-made sushi rolls, other specialties, and sides. I tried Pokeworks on a whim while wanting a light, carry-out dinner and this hit the spot. I'd recommend trying their kale noodles as a base, and you can't go wrong with any of their toppings. The sauces can be heavy, so I'd recommend asking for light sauce with your meal. Finally, the miso soup was ok but had too much green onion. Overall, it's a good bite and I'll definitely be back.

The Keto Tuna Bowl was delicious! I love the cauliflower rice base for this bowl. I hope it stays as a permanent item because it has been my favorite! The Serrano Aioli paired nicely with everything in the bowl. I added edamame and masago to the suggested toppings. Head to Pokeworks to try this before they take it off the menu!

This place is amazeballs! I'm officially jumping on their bandwagon. My friend and I visited this weekend after I read all the great reviews. Our experience was great from start to finish. We were greeted warmly by the two guys behind the counter. They explained every ingredient station as we built our own bowls. They offered samples on everything - from the fish to the sauces. They also recommended a sauce combination based on our bowl choices. You can even try the sodas on tap - everything from a stevia diet cola to coconut, lemongrass and blood orange. The flavors of every element were intense and pleasing. The fish was super fresh. The lotus root was a pleasant new discovery. The kale noodles were wonderful. Plus the owner was there and asked for our opinions of the place and was extremely nice. Go here and try this! Quick! I'll be going back often.

I'll admit it ... I was dubious about this place, but they won me over with the first scrumptious bite! In case you didn't know (I didn't) poke (po-KAY) is a Hawaiian style sushi-like raw fish meal-in-a-bowl (see why I was dubious?!). They do have vegan / vegetarian options and also fully cooked chicken, and shrimp and scallops. According to my 16 year old it's kind of a big deal on Instagram, so if you're into the hottest thing, that's one reason to give it a try. This restaurant's service model is similar to a Chipotle or Subway where you walk up to the counter, order your base and protein, and then add whatever "toppings" you like to the bowl or "burrito" as you walk down the line choosing the items you want. (More on the burrito in a moment.) There were some unfamiliar items on the menu and in the toppings bins, but I like to try new flavors and textures, so it was interesting and exciting to see so many different and unique choices. They've got something for everyone - paleo options, vegetarian, gluten-free, low carb, whatever your specialty diet is, they've got you covered at Pokeworks. The young staff members on duty helping my mostly clueless family (other than my aforementioned 16 year old, who clearly knows everything), were friendly, patient, and helpful. My younger daughter (14) ordered the Sweet Ginger Chicken with brown rice base. She said her mouth was on fire and she loved it - all smiles and yummy sounds. She's got a super low tolerance for spice, though. I tasted it, and on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being burn-your-mouth hot, it was about a 3-4. It was very good with a noticeable but comfortable kick to it. The older teen daughter ordered the Umami Classic over sushi rice and raved about each bite. She chose to use chopsticks that were provided next to the drink station with the napkins and plastic ware. They also have large bottles of soy sauce, sriracha, and sesame oil with small cups like other places have for ketchup to fill and bring to your table. My husband ordered what Pokeworks calls a burrito. But it's not served in anything like a tortilla, rather it comes prepared in a sushi-style seaweed wrapper with rice. He ordered an extra serving of protein and chose the ahi tuna with his various topping selections. He's generally a meat and potatoes guy, and he LOVED his poke burrito! I was the last of our family to order because I couldn't quite decide. The young lady helping me said for the first time it's easier to make your own, so that's what I did. I got a combo of sushi rice and brown rice. Then they typically top the rice with crunchy raw sliced cabbage. On top of that was my protein of choice - the ahi tuna. The difference between a regular size and a large size is an extra scoop of protein. So you get two scoops with regular size or three for a large. The bowl itself is still the same size. I added a few veggies, then the Pokeworks Classic sauce. On top of that I tried two kinds of crunchy seaweed, plus a seaweed salad. There are three kinds of caviar to put on top, crispy won ton strips, crispy chopped onions (think funions from the top of green bean casserole but smaller pieces), crispy garlic, and macadamia nuts (for $1 extra). I didn't get all that ... but I could have! I ended my bowl sprinkled with sesame seeds. We are a water-drinking family, but if we weren't they have some good choices, outside of the ordinary. A cooler with more familiar options, a fountain station with a brand I've not yet seen, and several juices to choose from. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect with my first taste, but I hadn't imagined it would be as delicious as it was. Wow. I am totally impressed and completely won over by my poke bowl. Yum. I will absolutely be back! If you're not sure about what this poke thing is all about, give Pokeworks a try. Whether you are on the adventurous side or want to stick with more familiar flavors (you could simply do chicken, rice, avocado, cilantro, and cucumber with a sauce), you will be happy. We were!

I've been really craving a poke bowl from the moment I moved here from California about 6 months ago. I've been holding off because I was hesitant about how fresh the fish would be since there isn't an ocean near by. I'm glad I decided to finally give in and searched for a poke spot in Knoxville on my way home from Nashville. Once I entered I noticed how welcoming and bright this place was, super clean and cute. They have the tables blocked off every other one for Covid and all employees were wearing their masks properly so that was a plus. This was my first time here but I know how it works when ordering you can either build your own or choose something off the menu which I loved that they had an option for that for people not knowing how to build their own bowl. I ended up getting the 3 protein bowl, miso and their garlic musubi. I noticed that some of the bins were empty when I was going down the line so that was kind of disappointing that not everything was fully stocked. They had about 7 employees working and It was just one other couple and me so it wasn't busy. So with that many employees standing around I would expect everything to be fully stocked. Once I got my bowl I noticed it felt pretty light. I'm used to back home where they pack the bowl full, mine barely had any rice in it. I will say the flavors were really good and the fish was fresh! I just wish the fish was a little more chilled though. The miso and musubi was really tasty, I wanted to order another musubi but didn't want to look like a little fatty haha. The employees I encountered were all super friendly and I was glad I stopped in. I will definitely will return when I'm back in the area!

We were passing through Knoxville on our way back to Nashville and decided to grab some poke. This place was conveniently located in a little plaza. We tried two bowls and a sushi-burrito. We loved all three selections. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful in making selections. There was a gentleman sitting in the back. He was either a manager, or an owner (Sean, I believe). Either way, his customer service is what really set this place apart. I HIGHLY recommend you try it, if you're in the area.

I eat Poke very often and it my favorite on the go lunch. So you know I was super excited to come across Pokeworks on a road trip with my hubby. We both ordered build your own bowls mine a regular and his a large. For mine I choose the kale noodles, spring mix, salmon, tuna, cucumbers, kale, seaweed salad, and crunchy garlic. The kale noodles were unique and delicious as I have never had them before. They are tossed in some kind of sauce that tasted like sesame oil for a great flavor. I also really enjoyed the seaweed salad and the fact that it's included in the price is awesome. Most poke places charge extra for seaweed salad. The fish was not the star of my bowl as it was cut very sloppy and pieces were very inconsistent. My husband's fish was far worse though as the marinated spicy tuna and salmon were very mushy. The marinade also turned the fish a grayish color and ruined the flavor. He informed the staff about it and they said the color and texture were because of the marinade. I recommend steering clear of these and sticking with the regular tuna and salmon.

The gravy was lacking in flavor and the patty was overdone. We've all been fortunate to live on or visit O'ahu and Hawai'i island many times, so our expectations are high! That being said... would I go back? Absolutely. The people were kind and happy to make suggestions. The food truck was clean and well-kept. Maybe "Poke Bowl" in the name threw off my searches -- who knows -- but I'm just glad it finally showed up. It's a small, tucked-away spot in the corner of a strip shopping center, easy to miss if you're not looking for it. Inside, there's a handful of small tables plus mostly counter service, but if you time it right, you can snag a seat at the sushi bar -- it holds maybe 8 to 10 people. And since we're firm believers that sushi night means service, that's exactly where Patrick steered us. He took great care of us all night: walking us through the restaurant's history, offering up solid suggestions, and turning out incredible sushi with genuinely great energy the whole time. Beer's the only drink option here, so if you're after a fancy date night with sake or craft cocktails, you'll want to head further into town. But for a laid-back night with a couple of cold ones, this place absolutely delivers. The sushi itself, though? Fresh, and every single piece was delicious. Honestly, I can't even remember everything we ordered -- most of it was Patrick asking what flavors we liked and just going for it, which is exactly how it should be done. One roll I do remember requesting was the Hardin Valley Roll, and it was a fantastic pick. We'll absolutely be back. And next time I'm craving sushi to go, this is who I'm calling -- no more grocery store sushi for me, ever again.

The broth was lukewarm, flavorless, and didn't taste like any tonkatsu I've ever had. Was very disappointed. The egg was cold, and overly salty. The image that came to my mind was an aerial view of the city of Pompeii being destroyed by a gush of lava as Mount Vesuvius suddenly erupted. I stood there, helplessly watching my delicious tuna get drowned in the thick orange substance. I shouted, "that's good!"
