I visited this Pokeworks while spending a day for a show. This plaza was near the hotel we stayed and less than a 5 min walk. I have had Pokeworks in RI so I was excited to try it here. This is from the new Pokeworks in Arsenal Yards. We've been there a couple of times and their biggest opportunity is to prepare your food consistently. Different workers do it differently, so keep an eye on portion size, sauce quantity and such. There are seats to dine in, or you can get take out. You go down the line and build your poke bowl the way you like. Our bowl costs around $16ish dollars and it was enjoyable. Parking is abundant in the mall. Place looked clean. read more

The moment I walked in, I knew something was off. The place was empty--no customers in sight--while three employees huddled together, chatting among themselves. No warm welcome, no smile. The only words I heard were a flat, uninviting: "What do you want?" Still, I decided to give them a chance. Small businesses need customers to survive, I told myself. When I began to order, the employee mumbled something I couldn't make out. "Pardon me?" I asked. She mumbled again. "I'm sorry, I can't hear you," I repeated. That's when she suddenly barked--yelled--"What do you want? White rice, brown rice, pasta?" I was stunned. Then came the next question: "What size do you want?" "What's the difference?" I asked. Her answer? "Two scoops or three scoops." I chose two. She seemed visibly disappointed, and then--right in front of me--she scooped one full serving and then a half scoop for the second. It was almost comical... if it hadn't been so insulting. I wanted to say something, but I held my tongue. At the register, my card didn't work. I asked if they took Apple Pay. No answer--just a finger pointing to the payment screen, which was prompting for a tip. I tipped anyway, but the whole interaction left me feeling awkward and unwelcome. I am not sure how to write this review. I have ordered food from them twice now and the food was good. Only problem the orders were very wrong. The first time i ordered the poke with three proteins that you put together yourself. I asked for extra sauce on the side and when it arrived there was no sauce at all. I had no soy sauce at home so i had to eat it dry. I could see it was well made. I also got the spam thing which was not for me. I never had spam before and never will again. I tried a second time ordered the two-protein poke bowl with seared salmon and lobster surimi and i requested double surimi WHAT I GOT WAS Poke with seared salmon and seaweed which i did not request i asked for the poke on the side and it was the wrong one. It's funny that there can be that much of a difference in food taste and portions between one Pokeworks to another. We like going to this one in Arsenal Yards because the items are consistently fresh, they don't run out of things, and the food doesn't end up sopping wet from an overload of dressing. Good variety of proteins, toppings and dressings, there's likely to be something for everyone whether you like raw fish or not. It was alright. I stopped by the Pokeworks at Arsenal Yards today for lunch. The place is order at the counter and food is prepped right in front of you. They have a selection of build your own or signature poke bowls, burritos & salads, plus chips, cookies, upside down cake, and bottled & can drinks. There is seating inside and outside in front. I ordered the Large Umami Ahi Tuna Bowl ($17.45 plus tax) and made it a combo for $3.50 plus tax with miso soup and a bottle of Saratoga Sparkling Water. After paying, I sat down to eat. The miso soup with miso broth, soft tofu and scallion was not hot and almost cold. The Umami ahi tuna bowl was okay, a modest portion in a large bowl which had a half & half base of Romaine lettuce & greens and brown rice, Ahi tuna pieces, cucumber, sweet onion, hijiki seaweed, edamame, Umami Shoyu flavor, surimi salad, pickled ginger, green onion, sesame seeds, garlic crisps. I finished my lunch quickly so I could enjoy the rest of the sunny day outside. read more

I opted for the mixed greens and went to town on the add on's. The bowl was a large portion and very delicious. In 3 years I have eaten Poké about 30 times in 7 places or so, mostly in Manhattan. I havent reviewed many. This resturant has lousy, lower level quality raw tuna and salmon. If you're going to have a Poké bar, at least make sure the sushi is great quality, not mushy, tasteless fish. SUCH a disappointment. Note to management--start PURCHASING HIGHER GRADE TUNA AND SALMON and take the hit on your bottom line. You already skimp on the add-ins so at least you can make money off that. I really had high hopes for this place. Unfortunately my experience has left me pretty underwhelmed and annoyed. I longed for a sushi burrito, so went in to order in person. First, I had to ask the attendee to speak up with pretty much every word that came out of her mouth. The frustration began to build. Then when choosing two proteins, salmon and tuna, for some apparent reason she placed all of the salmon on one side and tuna on the other. Ok, a little weird but I didn't say anything about it- I'm excited and hungry for this meal. But then we go to the other ingredients, of course having to ask to repeat what she's saying every step of the way. We get to the avocado- sure I will pay extra, throw that ish on please. But then she uses an ice cream scoop and puts one scoop of avocado directly in the middle of the burrito. ok, there's a plan right? Last comes the last add ons. I ask for Tobiko (fish eggs), and she puts a scoop of that right on top of the avocado. Now I'm hungry, this is gonna be a good combo. But wait, all of a sudden she goes to roll it right up- I have to stop her. Uh, excuse me- do you think you could SPREAD the ingredients out before rolling? Now, the manager is next to her listening and says to me not to worry that things will spread as she rolls it up. I'm exhausted at this point and just say, reallllly? The the manger rings me up for a lousy sushi burrito for just shy of $18. Halfway through my burrito I started to get a taste of avocado.. go figure. read more

I love Pokeworks and have ordered many times from the Davis, Harvard and Longwood locations so I was so excited to have one closer to home. I ordered my usual large bowl today and drive out of my way to pick it up. As soon as I grabbed the bag I was disappointed- it felt so light! The large bowl at this location is half the size of one at the others. I think there are 3 edamame total , 5 wonton crisps, and one scoop of protein. I can't see most of the other sides. I think I'll stick to the existing locations. read more
