The size of a $16 bowl
Sarah N.

Paid $36 for two of the smallest to go container sizes of food. Tasted great, good quality but I....am still hungry and can't truly afford to go back at that price for that quantity. Obvi ate bc it was good tho. 1/2 rice 1/2 seaweed "bowl"....like...just add more rice? Not sure what I did wrong here

The to go cup of the 50/50 for tuna/salmon "OG" style. Like I said, $20 including tax and tip
Stephanie W.

I ate here not too long ago. It's still delicious but I think they raised the prices? It used to be cheaper than the poke Austin restaurant down Brodie but now it's actually a little bit more expensive and the portion size is definitely smaller. It was $20 for me including tax and tip for a standard to go soup size container of poke; I had it with chips at home and felt comfortable but not super full or anything. Last time I went to poke Austin I was quite full after and I remember it cost about $16 for a standard bowl size so I think that's a better bang for your buck. But like I said, it does taste delicious! The cashier was also sweet. It's a standard fast food ambiance inside, nothing fancy but you can eat there at a clean table.

Yowza Yuzu (subbed with Salmon for protein)
Christina H.

Welcome to the Chipotle of poke bowls! 3 easy steps to follow or you can make it easy on yourself by ordering one of their signature bowls. I ordered the Yowza Yuzu, and subbed my protein with Salmon. The Yowza Yuzu punches with a citrus flavor and is made with ponzu sauce, sesame oil, yuzu kosho, tobiko, avocado, and chopped jalapeños.

Tuna and salmon ... what's left
Austin X.

Solid Poke with fresh tuna and salmon. I love the toppings and sauces here, they are light enough where you can still taste the fish. Staff were super friendly and efficient. Con: rice is on the dry side. If you are looking for soft sushi rice, this isn't it. I would recommend the seaweed or kale base instead. Overall great place!! I'll be back.

Aloha poke 1/2 lb - I ordered enough for extra to take home!
Darlene B.

It's not that easy to find good sushi or poke in Texas without spending a lot of money. I'm so grateful for Poke-Poke because they provide fresh poke options and it always hits the spot! The fish is always fresh and perfectly balanced. My go-to right now is the Aloha Poke, but I'm looking forward to trying more of the menu items!

It's O V E R P R I C E D y'all. Man, I gotta say that Austin is not the place to get poke. Unless you want to pay way more than what it costs in Hawaii itself. Maybe it's the fact that TX doesn't touch any oceans, but the prices here are crazy. They don't have prices up on the board which I feel like needs to change! Customers want to know how much they're paying, so give it to us! The menu board for ordering is already complicated enough here, at least write down what the prices will be. I wanted to check Poke Poke out for so long ever since I tried Poke Austin on Brodie. I gotta say Poke Austin is the winner because of the larger portions, variety and freshness in sashimi too. Sure the quality of the fish at Poke Poke is great, but I wouldn't say that it beats Poke Austin's. It's on the same level, but too onion-y at Poke Poke. Keep it fresh and mellow--the way it's supposed to be! They only have two sizes for poke "bowls," which are more like poke plates. The small is way small, definitely not enough for an average human adult to eat and feel full. The larger size is crazy expensive, so you can forget about it. We ordered to go, and I actually liked that they use two separate containers for your rice and poke mix. Most places these days do the poke bowl straight up in a bowl, and mixing is pretty difficult without losing a few grains of rice here and there. Poke Poke otherwise shares the same parking plaza as Baskin Robbin's, so fret not...you will get free parking. They also have wifi and a happy hour that runs during early dinnertime from 4-7pm EVERY DAY for a $2 off dine-in experience. I guess they finally got their alcohol license!

Very very expensive for this tiny container. my hand is female. $17 for this. $17 should be my "two" meals. But i ate it like its snack.

This is an 8oz $18 bowl. They can't even splurge on an adequate size bowl for the poke. This feels like a togo box.
Christina M.

Probably the worst poke I've had. And I've dined inSan Francisco, New York and had many places in Austin serve really tasty poke bowls. I called ahead of time to get insight into what bowl was best - 4oz or 8oz - and the attendant recommended an 8oz. This is the horrible example of an 8oz $18 bowl with extra kale, avocado, and a half rice and kale base. I am a newer resident to Austin and super disappointed. This was literally my first meal as a resident here and was poorly recommended. Save your money and go down the road to Poke Austin.

The only downside of this restaurant is portion size. However, their poke is top notch, a must try!

From the original Sushirrito in San Francisco, to Foodland's poke fare in the islands of Hawaii - I've been there and done all the things. So I'd like to think I know what good poke tastes like: fish tasty enough to eat on its own, sauce that complements rather than overpowers, and just the right amount and flavor of toppings to bring a unique twist to each bowl. One can get a little nerdy about raw fish and I hope to submit my master's thesis one day. Customization is an integral part of the poke experience, and who am I to tell you what to order. Some people don't even put any sauce on their raw fish - and like pope Francis said "who am I to judge that person?" But I simply could not, in good conscience, leave without suggesting this absolute banger, slap my knee, mmh mmh mmmmh, finger lickin good, ask the host for the recipe, delicious poke burrito. It's seriously the best poke item I have eaten in I can't even remember how long. Regular pokerrito Hot Cheetos seaweed wrap Classic ahi tuna + salmon Sweet ginger sauce Edamame, red cabbage, half portion of seaweed salad, mango Drizzle of wasabi Aioli Furikake, tempura crisps 5/5 I'd go out of my way to visit this establishment again

Poke (pronounced poh kay) is a traditional Hawaiian dish made with cubed raw fish, usually tuna or salmon, served over rice or greens and topped with sauces and fresh mixed ingredients. The word poke means to cut or to slice in Hawaiian, which describes how the fish is prepared. At Poke House, the build your own bowl format allows customers to fully customize their meal. You choose a base such as white rice, brown rice, salad greens, or a mixed combination, then add proteins like ahi tuna, salmon, shrimp, or tofu, followed by sauces and toppings such as seaweed salad, avocado, edamame, sesame seeds, and spicy mayo. The restaurant has high quality fish with generous portions. For new poke fans, salmon is always a good starter for new poke fans. oh my gosh YUMMMM I…read moredrive by this place every day on my way to/from work and had no clue what it was until a week ago. I've been looking for a good poke place with fish that isn't super fatty. I hate when I'm chewing for an hour on those fatty pieces, but this place had mostly perfect bites! The portion is small for the price, BUT the flavor is one of the best I have had. Can't wait to go back soon yum

I got 1 lb of…read moreahi tuna for $19 and 1 lb of salmon for $23, which felt like a much better deal than most poke spots charging $15+ for a bowl with just a few bites of fish. If you actually want a solid portion of poke, this is a great option. What I liked: The salmon was very fresh - I ordered The OG salmon poke, and it was flavorful and well-marinated. The fish had a nice, smooth texture and absorbed the soy sauce and sesame oil well. No weird aftertaste or fishiness--just fresh, clean flavors. Portions are generous - A full pound of fish made for a very satisfying meal, which isn't always the case with poke. If you don't want rice or fillers, ordering by weight is the way to go. What I didn't love: Ahi tuna wasn't as fresh - It started off tasting fine, but as I kept eating, I noticed a slight fishy taste, especially in the middle portion. Not terrible, but not the best either. Next time, I'd skip the tuna and just get salmon if that cannot be improved. Seasoning is strong and a bit oily for me. The marinade is on the heavier side, with a lot of soy sauce and sesame oil. It's flavorful, but personally, I prefer a lighter touch so the fish itself can stand out more. If you're used to milder poke, this might be a bit much. I was just looking for a simple, no-frills poke spot, and this is a solid choice. The salmon was great, the value was good, and the flavors were bold. Not sure about service since I chose delivery.
