I just visited for the first time and had a good experience! I stopped in while in the area to pick up a poke bowl to take home for dinner. The menu is huge! There is a lot to look at and decide between! The female employee was incredibly patient with the customers in front of me and checked ingredients on dressings and marinades to make sure they did not have what the customer was allergic to. I built my own bowl and got ahi tuna, miso salmon, and spicy krab salad as my proteins. All 3 were really good and I would especially get the miso salmon again. This was a healthy and filling meal! We stopped by for a late lunch and really enjoyed it! The place is super clean and modern inside, and the staff were all really friendly. I was impressed by how much variety they have. It's definitely more than most poke spot I've been to. For the winter time, they even offer warm poke bowls and ramen (which I'll be coming back for!). They also have daily deals. Bonus points for being gluten-free friendly, just give them a heads-up before ordering. We ordered from the signature bowls menu. I got the Pololi, and my husband had the Volcano Bowl. Saw this nearby and decided to check it out for the first time since I love poke. I like that they also sell boba drinks. However, they are overpriced and charge more for certain toppings. I think for the size of the bowl it was a little pricey but they filled it up to the brim with toppings. The fish tasted fresh and they had a ton of toppings to choose from. More than most poke places I've gone to. The wasabi sauce is actually spicy and the mango mayo brought some fruity freshness to the bowl. Poke Austin is quite bomb! I've had it twice now and it really alleviates the poke cravings. They have pretty standard prices, it's like $13 for the smallest size (the skinny) which is what I always get - it's a base (rice, etc) and 2 proteins with 6 sides. Every time I have it I'm aaaalmost full but not quite and have to have a snack or something after but then I'm good. The quality of the fish is pretty good, I like their miso salmon the best. And the staff are always quick and helpful. They also have boba - it's pretty decent too, nothing exceptional but if you have a craving they have options and they will definitely get the job done :) Because it's inside the sunset valley shopping center there is always plenty of parking. Overall I won't be coming here often because it gets expensive buying poke often, but when I have the craving this is one of my go-to spots! read more

Love this place!! My 2nd time here and love trying different variations of their poke bowls. Ono last time was great with white rice and spring mix as a base as suggested by the server. This time I did just white rice and it was too much. The tempura house special is good, but definitely won't go with tempura next time since it takes up so much bowl space and I don't get enough raw. The employees don't change their gloves between orders. I was lucky enough get a nice lady that put on a new pair of gloves to make my order, but the guy that was working wore his gloves into the bathroom and then came back and started making somebody's order. The rice was hard and chewy, the proteins didn't taste fresh, the avocado ($2.00 extra) was hard and should not have been served for another 2-3 days. I think I found my favorite Poke spot in Austin. Staff was friendly and didn't rush as I checked out the menu, then walked me through. The amount of choices and different things they had to offer were a bit more than most poke places I've been. The food was fresh tasting and great! They do have daily specials it looked like. They offer a variety of seafood options for your poke, but I personally always go with the Strong Bowl, which includes crab, spicy crab, and king crab. You can mix and match with different bowl sizes, the smallest starting at $13 (which looks small but could be a full meal) and up. Parking is easy since it's in a huge plaza and there's not a lot of people generally so you can order quickly to go or to eat there. The interiors are kind of lacking I would probably just grab it to go, not really as a place to sit and eat and enjoy your time. Their fish was pretty fresh and they had a wide variety of toppings. Decided to build my own poke bowl and I will say that I liked how many protein options there were to choose from (more than your typical poke bowl chain). That being said, there were some toppings that surprisingly costed extra that typically are complimentary at other places I go to, such as the seaweed salad costing an additional $.50. I ended up trying their boba tea as well since it was my first time trying it here, and they unfortunately don't adjust sugar levels so I was worried about how sweet the drink would be. The cashier reassured me that it wouldn't be too sweet, so I ended up getting it and I'd say the sweetness is similar to maybe ordering a 70% sugar level beverage at a boba shop. This indeed was too sweet for me since I usually get 30-50% sugar modification. I was also disappointed by the tapioca pearls because they tasted soggy right from the beginning and the texture only got worse the longer I had the drink. I don't have any negative feedback about the freshness of the seafood itself, but I personally would just stick to poke bowls at this establishment. read more

Solid poke option located in the Sunset Valley suburb in southwestern Austin. I've found that poke as a category is very hit or miss depending on where you go. I spent some time scouring around Austin to get a sense for the options when it comes to good poke, and I've landed on this spot several times (and for a while it was my go-to spot). When it comes to poke, I also tend to think there are several categories that an establishment can be graded on, including 1) food quality, 2) protein selection, 3) other add-ons, 4) sauce selection, and 5) overall experience. Generally, I have found this place to have good quality ingredients. I always shake my head at folks who claim different places have more fresh or less fresh fish as I'm always a bit confused how most people can really tell (aside from some horrible, rotten odor). Anyways, all the ingredients I've had here have tasted good. In terms of protein selection, I find this place offers the majority of the protein options you'd expect from a standard poke place--as well as several less common options, such as octopus, unagi, and tamago. Similarly, this place also offers most add-ons that you'd expect with standard poke (e.g., edamame, seaweed salad, onion, peppers, etc.), as well as other less common ingredients (e.g., fukujinzuke, oshinko, etc.). There are plenty of good sauce options here, and to my delight, plenty of spicy sauce options. Finally, I have found the overall experience of coming here to be quite good. Occasionally, it can be a bit slow, but when there is no line it isn't too bad. The staff here are really nice and enjoyable to talk to. My fav proteins that i've tried thus far out of their grande seleccion being any of their varied tuna, salmon, scallops, & seafood or lobster salads. They do have a "Popular 6" Menu of 6 pre-built bowls they've concocted (price range from $13.95 - 15.95), but the vast majority of patrons here do the build-your-own-poke-bowl ($ from a starting base of $12.99 - 18.99, depending on the number of between 2-5 proteins you choose). Went in for a quick lunch and found this place next to Orangetheory which was perfect for after my workout. The proteins, bases and toppings selection were great, I went with the Super build-your-own which lets you pick up to 3 proteins. I chose the ahi tuna, salmon and teriyaki chicken. There are raw, cooked, and cooked-warm choices to choose from with the proteins, and the teriyaki chicken fell under the cooked warm category, but when I tried it, it was completely cold so I'm not sure why it's under that category. However, I was pleased with the freshness of the fish and other toppings, they do great with portion size and I was pretty full after finishing about half the bowl. I would most likely come back and try some of their other combinations, I'm glad I found a place that is close by and hits that poke craving, definitely would say it is worth checking out. read more
