Tonight we just had a great experience with Polar Aire Heating and Cooling. When I got home, I learned our air-conditioner had quit working. I called Polar and within minutes had a call back and within an hour had a service person out to look at our unit. Shortly after that, everything is up and running. The service person (JT) was fast, efficient and personable. Update: so fast forward a bit...and it was time for us to replace our a/c and furnace. I got multiple estimates and was very pleased that not only was Polar Aire competively priced but they did a great write up of their estimate and emailed (type written with multiple options explained and quoted) whereas the other companies scribbled out their estimates. (I was comparing a lot of different efficiencies and units so this was very appreciated. As well I recently got a water heater from them. Now I have met several of their technicians and they were all a pleasure to work with...timely, professional etc. I love their appointment confirmation calls and texts and how they follow up to see if you are happy with their work. Our AC wasn't blowing and a technician came out and replaced a part. I called back to let them know it still was blowing 3-4 degrees warmer than it was set and they said I'd have to pay the fee again if someone came out and the issue was unrelated. Instead of paying the fee again for their mediocre service, I had someone else out (great thorough service) and they put Freon in. What kind of technician isn't checking Freon when they're in there? Such a half baked visit, will not be back. read more

Polar Aire did an amazing job! The proposal was awesome and detailed with several options of Good, Better, Best. Travis answered all of my questions and gave the best price we could find for a quality system sized right for our house without unnecessary bells and whistles. They were able to promptly schedule the work and the installers did an amazing job - you could not tell they had even been there after they were done. The installers wore masks and were safe! After the install - they sent us a thank you package with a coffee mug and amazing cookies! And our post install paperwork was sent the next business day! We could not be happier and will happily refer them to our friends and family. Seriously, if you need a new furnace or A/C in Kansas city - give these guys a call. You won't have to listen to a 3 hour sales presentation for a quote 2x as much as what a furnace should cost. You will get an honest assessment and a quote promptly. Less than $10k for a high efficiency furnace and 2 stage AC with a great lifetime warranty and 24/7 support with one year of maintenance at NO extra charge included. I have two a/c units. Last year my big one had issues. Polar Aire is right around the corner from me so I called them. The operator was pleasant to talk to and helpful. I had to work but my roommate went on and on how great "Scott" was in fixing and explaining the problems of the a/c unit. Fast forward to this summer and my smaller unit decided to give issues. So another call. Operator said they were busy and a man short. Not until next week. So I waited to call next week and she said she could squeeze me in that afternoon. We got "Scott" again. I hadn't remembered who we had last time until I read his name tag and it instantly hit me. My roomie talked about him a lot last year. I can see why. He is very talkative and helpful and gets the job done. We were pleased with Polar Aire both times. read more

Needed AC repaired on Father's Day when temperature was high. Tyler, the technician called back within 15 minutes and called prior to arriving. He was professional, quick and efficient. False advertising on their website. They advertise $99 for an emergency service call, but later reveal there is also an additional $50 fee and 30% up charge. Really don't appreciate the fake transparency from a local business. Won't be calling again. read more

Have never had a 5-star experience with an HVAC company...until now. Furnace was down on a particularly cold day. Needed quick attention and decided to rely on a local, highly rated company instead of the highly advertised "big guys" in the KC area. Was pleasantly surprised with the result. I called Polar Aire on a very hot and I assume very busy day. I knew I was not the only one sweating because the AC was not working. I called Polar Aire and was given instructions to turn off my system and turn the fan on. I did as instructed... and to my surprise they promised HVAC service the same day. They even let me know to expect a call from "Zack" ! I appreciated that Zack indeed called to say he was on his way. He was prompt and very professional. My AC stopped blowing cold air last night. I called this morning and a tech was at my house by 10:30am. Less than an hour later it was working like new (capacitor needed replacing in outdoor unit). Sunday afternoon, 93 degrees, family in town and AC unit shuts down. Call several places but no one can see us for days. Meanwhile, approaching 90 degrees and so we try Polar Aire of Olathe. They said they can get us in, Dan shows up EARLY, checks out unit, adds a some needed freon and does for a very reasonable price. Polar Aire performs good service and value, but my problem with them is that they do not notify you when you are due for service. They definitely send you a reminder postcard when your service is up for renewal, but drop out of sight when you are due for your previously paid service and you have to call them to schedule. I prefer to have my air conditioner and furnace serviced in the early Spring and Early Fall prior to the start of the cooling and heating seasons so I don't experience any surprises. I was certain I checked with them and ask whether they sent out two notices a year and I believe they said yes. I know another company that does! read more

Our air-conditioner went out over the weekend and has been around if not into the 90's!! We called Polar Aire and another company to help us out, and Polar Aire where on the minute time for the appointment and explained all the options all very reasonably priced that would help our heating and cooling needs for our home. They came out the very next day on the minute as when promised, and started work very professionally and quickly. The men worked happily around us and our dog. After the unit was installed they cleaned everything up, vaccummed up the stairs and out the frond door as they walked out of my home,. You wouldnt even known they were here. I am very impressed with this companie's timely manner of getting us a new ac unit installed quickly, the way they treated our home, and how kind they were to all of us. read more
