At the ten-year mark since the termite treatment, I tried to call the company that had treated in 2008, but they had gone out of business. I called a pest control company I'd hired before to check for rodents when I'd first moved in, but after several promises of getting back to me about an appointment, I gave up on them and called Bayonne Exterminating. The appointment was made immediately at my convenience. I was able to email them the 2008 documentation, which they reviewed ahead of time (I know, I know...seems like not that big a deal, but in a world where companies seem to seldom read their email, it's nothing short of miraculous when someone actually opens and reviews an attachment). I received a confirmation call 15 minutes before the appointment, and Ralph showed up exactly on time. With a large flashlight, he thoroughly examined the basement walls and the floor above, looking at the past damage for signs of renewed activity. He gave me a few tips about my dehumidifier as he fearlessly barged through the spiderwebs in the basement rafters. This was early on a weekday, and Ralph was dressed in a spiffy business shirt, so I felt guilty that I hadn't tackled the spiderwebs with a vacuum cleaner ahead of time, but he assured me this was what he does all day. Ultimately, there were no signs of new infestation and Ralph gave my house a clean bill of health (at least on the termite front). Bonus: Not only did he not recommend an expensive treatment, he didn't even charge me for the inspection. Not even for the shirt cleaning. I'll definitely be calling this company again. Stephen (Inspection & Sales) - Stephen arrived exactly at the scheduled time and was friendly from the moment he walked in. He inspected my attic, measured the square footage, and walked me through all available insulation options. No upselling...just available options. Based on our conversation about my high winter heating bills, he also suggested that my outer walls likely needed insulation. Before giving me any pricing, he made sure I understood that Atticare would secure the best possible PSE&G rebate. They ultimately obtained a sizable rebate (free money!) and a 0% loan for 72 months billed as part of my monthly utilities bill, which allowed me to insulate all three floors of outer walls in addition to the attic.
