I had a very disappointing experience with Polish Dental. I went in almost 6 months ago for an annual check-up, and they recommended a dental cleaning with code D4346, along with some unnecessary services like irrigation. Even though I informed them I had insurance, they insisted that I pay $413 upfront and said they would deal with the insurance later. I reluctantly agreed because I didn't want to have to make another trip. Since then, I've been trying to get an update on my insurance coverage, but their billing department is impossible to reach. They don't answer phone calls or emails. The one time I managed to get someone to respond, I was told they would send my info to the insurance company, but after months of waiting, they still haven't done it. Be careful! They'll take your money, promise to handle the insurance, but never follow through. Their communication is awful, and once you pay, don't expect to hear back from them. Where do I start??? If you never want your calls returned this is the practice for you!! My family of 4 was going here but the office has made billing errors a few times. It took more than 4 calls and voicemails before that issue was fixed. Last visit we paid for fluoride and it wasn't applied.. many more calls to get a refund.. they try to Up sell whitening, replace old fillings, deep cleanings...and don't have the hours posted online.. gave them a third chance.. called last week asking how much a night guard would be and if insurance covers it.. was told they'd call right back and... crickets.. if you like making lots of calls and not getting answers this is the perfect practice for you!! Update 4/15/22- within 3 hours of posting this review my husband FINALLY got a callback from the office. The $61.00 was cleared off of the account after some discussion and walking through the charges filed with our insurance company. This dental office is a learning facility without much guidance. There is not the certified dentist who owns the practice available. I spent 6 hours in the chair for a minor fix that led to many mishaps, clumsy work, proper procedure not followed or checked on only to have caps permanently cemented to a tooth with an infection. Then given a number for another practice to fix the error which wasn't open for another 4 days. I will be moving on and you should too! read more

Donna is the Office manager at the Alpharetta, Valais Ct location and she hung up the phone on me because I had a concern with the fact that they provided service to my 17 year old without my consent. She insisted that my daughter is 18 and I said I can send you a copy of her birth certificate proving otherwise. She proceeded to hang up the phone in my face. Dr. Hobbs removed my tooth without inflicting one second of pain and post discomfort. While using a calm and soothing voice and a gentle hand, he walked his assistant/attending nurse through every step and I was none-the-wiser when my tooth was extracted. I later realized when I was driving back home to Vinings, that he was inserting stitches in my mouth...again, I never felt a thing. Excellent work. Excellent professionalism. This was my first time here with my daughter. We walked in and we're seen right away. I waited while my daughter had her x-rays completed. When they were done I walked to the back room with my daughter. Dr. Tiffany walked in introduced herself asked why did we leave our previous dentist and I answered we moved. She then turned her attention to her assistant who appeared to be new. I could hear Dr. Tiffany tell her what needs to be completed when she walks in. Dr. Tiffany then starts examining my daughters teeth she didn't ask me or my daughter any questions. She finished the examination and walked out. Oooook pretty odd I've been to the dentist before and they ask a million questions keep in mind the reason we came in my daughters wisdom teeth are hurting her. So Dr. Tiffany is gone five minutes later another assistant walks in and says this is what this is this cost that much and here is your referral to a specialist. So I started asking a few questions and she answered she was nice fyi. Now Back to Dr. Tiffany I'm not a dentist but if you have a patient come in and they have issues I know you need to take the time out to explain the situation to them and the parent i.e. issue at hand, preventive measures, next steps etc. I mean jeez bare minimum if you don't explain anything at least ask if I have any questions before you walk out without saying a simple thanks for coming or have a good day. I initially left a review on Google Maps. This dentist offices refuses to release my medical records to my new dentist. I relocated back to my home state in Michigan. My new dentist and I have been trying for over a month to get my records from this dental office to no avail. Their response is "Our computer system is down." Their response to my Google Maps review was "We are updating our computer system." Now these are two different responses. Which is it? Is it down or being updated? Does it take over a month to update your computer system? What do they do when they need to pull records for their current patients? Is everyone on hold for a month? Their response to me on Google Maps was non-sense and proved my point that they aren't trying to send my records to my new dentist. They started an implant process of two teeth (see photo) and the job is unfinished. They began in Dec 2019, my next appt was scheduled for Apr 2020. This was during the beginning of the pandemic and I wasn't seeing a dentist during that time, especially when my mother almost died from Covid. I notified them that I had relocated to MI and needed my records, specifically the implant brand name and the size. My new dentist is asking for this to complete the work. Im walking around with two exposed posts in my mouth and can't get it finished, bcuz this dentist office won't give up my records. They made it seem as though it was urgent to get the process started eager to start the process. They were paid $2,500 from my dental carrier, but now since they won't be getting any more money from me to finish the procedure that they were charging an astronomical amount for, its obviously not that urgent anymore. I tired of their generic responses telling me they responded to me and my dentist saying that their getting a new computer system or that their system is down. How does this even sound? Is it acceptable? Did you see me mention What their resolution is? I have a friend who was a dental hygienist and she told me all about the tactics many dentists use to squeeze money out of patients by telling them they need all kinds of unnecessary work. Root canals, crowns (even though you already have crowns), trying to up-sale you fluoride when you come in for a standard cleaning and x-rays. The lies and deceit is just too much. In general I was pleased with the quality and cleanliness of the office. It was always easy to schedule an appointment to get my teeth cleaned. Unfortunately I constantly felt pressured to add on extra services whenever I went in. Despite my constant refusal I kept getting asked if I wanted to replace my fillings even though the dentist said there wasn't anything wrong with them. The last straw happened when I got a bill in the mail for services that my insurance had denied. Only seven business days later I got a call from them saying if I didn't settle today they would send me to collections. That made my decision easy to go and find a new dentist. read more

Not sure about the negative reviews, but Polish Dental is definitely up there on my list of dental offices I've worked with since moving from my parents and my all time favorite office. I was pretty leery as many of my coworkers, who also relocated to Atlanta for work, have had bad experiences with all medical services, specifically Dentistry. Personally, Dr. Tiff has been great with me. She talks through each of my procedures with me at length so I understood and also made good suggestions on the path of completion to my treatment plan. I have a lot going on, stemming from a car accident as a child. Dentists in other states often left me with partial treatments so they ended up doing more harm than good. But, now in a little over a year with Dr. Tiff I'm in a MUCH better space. She's always been quite nice and personable when I've been there, as the hygienists typically are as well. I'm very happy to be working on the tail end of my treatment plan without the half treatments I have been through before. I can't speak on the price as there are so many varying factors from person to person. I'm pretty sure they aren't the cheapest, but that's not necessarily what you want when you're talking about your teeth. I have never felt like I was being taken advantage of when it came to cost. Is it a lot of money, yes, but pretty much all dental work is. The location isn't convenient for me, and I will be even farther away soon, but I plan on remaining a patient at Polish. read more

Unfortunately, I too was excited to support a dental office full of black women, but now I feel that I have been scammed. I was quoted several additional services and it was made to seem that what I ended up getting was required. The dentist that I requested was not the dentist that I saw. The hygienist was very sweet. I also saw the owner, Dr. Jamison-Rand and although pleasant on the surface, she really just says what she has to in order to get the most money. My insurance bill says something completely different from what I was told I received. The receptionist even tried to charge me twice for flouride. I was billed for a date that I was never there and a service that I did not receive. Lakiesha is the person hired to put out these billing fires. She did reach out to me quickly the first time. She said she was driving and would call me back. I sent another email and she called me again saying she would call me the following Monday, but never did. I have made 3 appointments and have been trying to get a simple teeth cleaning for going on almost three months now. All 3 of my appointments were cancelled approximately 24 hours before the appointment due to issues with the hygienist. I am honestly not sure how they are still in business and I personally have never had this many issues with one business in my life. I had vowed the last time I visited this office not to return because of the disrespectful way Dr. Tiffany spoke to her staff and the service I received. However, I returned for another visit today and again it left a sour taste in mouth. Dr. Tiffany never even examined my mouth. I understand the dental hygienist does X-rays and cleanings. My experience of dentist visits over the years is Dr. always comes in and does quick peek and a gives a friendly face to face hello. I never even saw her during the visit except when I was exiting to leave and she waved her hand for me to proceed to another desk for check out.(So Rude) To top the visit off I had to wait for 45min after X-rays for them to clean my teeth. The dental hygienist came in and apologized for the wait. If your looking for a professional dentist please don't waste your time in going to this practice. Went in during my second trimester for the first time for a check up and hoping to plan some dental work. The person working on me made multiple mistakes throughout my visit. At the end of the visit, she tells me she isn't even an employee and is there on a working interview. That would have been nice to be informed of before allowing her to work on me, especially pregnant. I decided not to return after that. The billing practices are unscrupulous, at best. I received a bill this month out of the blue for $408 saying I was 90 days late and that the next step would be collections(??). Keep in mind, I'm an existing patient at the time. What i'm discovering is that they recommend services that aren't covered by insurance or only partially covered, charge you whatever random amount they want when the service is rendered, then come back later with a huge bill. You almost never see a dentist, the office workers do your teeth and the dentist that are listed on the website are NEVER there. This is the letter I had to write as my final complaint. "This is my fourth attempt to contact the polish Lilburn office about defective dental work. I have called and left three messages with the answering service as well as spoken with an office staff person, no one has returned a phone call in regards to my fourth attempt to have a temporary bridge placed in my mouth. I recently moved to Fayette County, GA and did not want to change to an out of network dentist so I continued with Polish Dental Services, even though Polish is now an hour's drive away from my home. In December of 2019 I came in for two extractions and to begin the dental work for a bridge. My teeth were filed down by the dentist and then the dentist left, the front office manager placed a temporary bridge in my mouth which broke the next day and started cutting into my tongue. I called and made an appointment to be seen, where I got there I was told no appointment was made for me but I could be "squeezed" in. After a three hour wait, I had to leave to go get my children which includes a nursing 1-year-old. I was told to come back early the next morning and assured that the office manager, who was formally a dental assistant, would repair my temporary bride. I returned the next morning to have the temporary bridge repaired as planned. It broke the same day while eating soft food and I called to inform the dental location. I was asked if I could return the next day and I stated it was not possible and made an appointment for a few days later. I returned for my repair appointment and a third person who is not the dentist or the office manager replaced the broken temporary bridge. I was upset but satiated. The temporary bridge, once again broke the same day. I decided not to call but to just accept the broken bridge until my next dental appointment which was scheduled for January 23rd, but while eating cornbread dressing on Wednesday, January 16th I accidentally swallowed the entire bridge leaving my filed teeth exposed and very sensitive to heat, cold, air and brushing. I called on Thursday evening January 17th and informed a Lilburn staff member that I had swallowed the entire temporary bridge and was experiencing pain as a result of sensitive teeth. I was informed that someone would call me back. Today is Tuesday, January 21st, I have left three more messages and no one has returned a phone call. I find the ignoring of my complaints and phone calls rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. I no longer want to do business with Polish Dental, this is my last attempt to rectify the situation. I have blind copied the instructed departments at Blue Cross Blue Shield of GA (my insurance company), Care Credit (the loan company) and our HSA cardholder to inform them, that I and subsequentially they, were charged for service NOT provided. I do not have a temporary bridge to protect my overly expose and hypersensitive teeth and I am now in pain. This letter will serve as the notice of my attempts to rectify the situation with no participation from anyone at Polish Dental and I am requesting each carrier, or payer of dental services, start processes to retrieve funds paid as I will not be returning to Polish Dental for anything. This was very poor service, especially for $3100. I also will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, the State of GA Board of Dentistry and any other agency in GA I can find to ensure a swift and complete refund of funds paid so I can find another dentist and have this catastrophy remedied." read more

I came in for a regular cleaning and a list of things I needed to take take care of as I hadn't been to the dentist in less than a year. Well I met Dr. Jamison and she was nice. But the dental hygienist and the ton of xrays and her recommending a deep cleaning which they know majority of the insurances don't cover anyway--- so I just felt like the entire appointment was a waste of time just to receive a hefty bill. I totally didn't expect to NOT get at least my regular cleaning done and being told that I had to pay out of pocket for a deep cleaning of over $200 oh and then would have to come back every 4 or 5 weeks -- that's the first time I heard that one but anyway-- and that probably wouldn't be covered by my insurance so eventually they would get more money and eat up my insurance for this year aside from all the x-rays she took today. The hygienist took a BUNCH of xrays which I felt were ALOT to have nothing done and then I just felt like I was handed the little bag, and tried to apply for the credit which I was declined for anyway and rushed out of the room so she could prepare for the next person.
