What a great pooch! The. I met Bear. A towering long bear arced man who I connected with instantly. We talked a little more about my tattoo, and he worked and then reworked some magic to get it where I wanted it. He was incredibly easy to communicate with, had great ideas, and is top notch. He gave me the estimated time and expected cost. What a novel idea! Then it was chair time. Brother Bear out on some Five Finger Death Punch and we got to work. The perfect blend of conversation, with moments of just chillin in the chair. When all was said and done I walk d away with something I am so stoked on, and plans for many more visits to see Bear and Brutus. This is the absolute hands down best experience I have ever had with any of my 7 or so tattoo artists. I feel like I was welcomed into the family. The belly piercing itself looks amazing, I get quite a few compliments on how centered the placement is. Before I got the piercing, my nerves were sort of high, so when he originally marked where he'd pierce, it was too far to the left, but I was too nervous to correct it. Thankfully, the piercer corrected himself after I stood in the mirror and it turned great, as well as making some jokes to ease the nerves. However, I will say that the jewelry isn't the best quality. After about a month with the piercing, the gem inside the top part of the jewelry fell out? Overall, I had a good experience and would go back again. The workers are cool, and pretty respectful. Super easy tattoo process, that's handled professionally. My experience here has only been with…read morecustom work. My first tattoo at Inkwell was about 10 years ago and was done by Chris McMillan. I was pleased with the job he did but I wanted to add background color for more of a half sleeve. I reached out to Inkwell and got a consultation scheduled with Tony Austin. At the consult I told him what I wanted, paid my $50 deposit and got a day scheduled to start getting the work done. They are able to be a little flexible on price and I got an estimate on what my total price would be when I scheduled. The first available was about a month out so plan accordingly. The first step was to go back over what I already had so when the new color was added it wouldn't drown out the original work. The area was clean and I went in the evening so as far as I know I was the only customer in the studio, it was quiet and relaxed. Tony had a soft hand which resulted in very little scabbing and the conversation was normal tattoo chat, movies, tv, work, etc. It took four sessions and I'm very happy with the end result. The words say "When He Carried Me" and is inspired by "Footprints in the Sand". If I have anymore tattoo work done I'll be going back to Inkwell and hope that Tony is available again.
