I left pretty unhappy, she cut all my nails off to basically my finger , I have absolutely no nails left and I was growing them for weeks up until to eh appointment. I never ever call and complain because I'm in the beauty industry but I am pretty annoyed. She never asked me how short or what shape I wanted and now I have square shaped boy nails when I usually like the long rounded nails. i am a very polite costumer and she seemed snappy and was rushing me and so I might call back and see what they can do? I came here for a pedicure first thing after the opened in the morning. The guy (first time I let a guy do my nails ) was rough and seemed to be in a rush. He just slammed through cutting my nails. In fact he cut me and did not even apologize when I yelled out OUCH!!!! He kept getting up and answering the phone. It was almost fifteen minutes at one point. I went to this nail salon recently because my friend had recommended that I give it a try. I went into this nail salon with the plan to get spring themed nails for Easter. The nail salon was empty upon arrival. I needed an acrylic fill and began to look at their color offerings. I opted to try the chrome because I had never tried it before. I chose a turquoise chrome color for my nails. A male nail tech did my nails and appeared bothered during the whole time that he was doing my nails. He frequently tugged on my arms which made me uncomfortable. The thing that really got me was that he got the nail color wrong, even though I showed him the color that I wanted. I didn't notice until it was too late, as I didn't know how the chrome polish worked and thought that he might add that color on later. This nail salon prefers cash tips and makes it very clear. I wasn't aware of this since it was my first time and wanted to pay with my card. The woman behind the counter said with an attitude that I can pay with card this time but not going forward. I've gone here for years and I always enjoy my experience. I've brought many friends and family along with me who have also enjoyed it. Fay (I believe is her name) always does a great job on my designs! I'm usually very indecisive so I show her a couple pictures of different yet similar nails from online and she puts her own creative style into it and combines them! Comes out beautiful every time! Have no complaints! These are gel-x nails, highly recommend if you don't usually get your nails filled often and want them to come off without pain! Update: I got these done 2 days before my birthday and some of them broke off a day after getting them done.. soo I didn't even have the nails for my birthday!!! A week later and I only have 5 nails left... I spent $110 just for 1 days of all my nails. I called ahead to see if there was any walk-in availability and was told to come in. I was the only person in there and went to pick my colors. I was rushed very quickly to sit and the guy I had just grabbed my hands and tried to start so I apologized and asked for just a second to just look at colors. I felt very rushed so I just picked two random colors and let him begin. He filed my nails for about two minutes and started to put the gel color directly on top, no prep or cleaning, there was white powder from filing still on my nails and my cuticles were a mess all around. The gel lamp kept shutting off and I kept trying to tell the guy it wasn't working but he didn't seem to really care. My nails did not properly dry as they were only under for about 30 seconds after the final layer. He spent no longer than 10 mins on my nails, and the whole time he was looking at the door, clearly in a rush. I went to do my eye brows with someone else, and by the time he was done the original guy had already taken a lady that came in. They clearly tried to squeeze me in knowing he had an appointment, rushing and not providing a quality experience. I think he would say himself that he did not do the best work. I left with polish not even covering the full nail, and chipping the next day already due to no prep work done. I paid just under $50, and definitely feel ripped off and just used to make a quick buck. Nails are messy, bumpy, and already chipped as you can see in the pictures. The eye brow guy did good, but do not recommend this place for nails, especially if you're just walking in and may not be a regular client. The best part is the guy had the audacity to ask if I'll be tipping in cash. Very disappointing as I went to get my nails done for a vacation. I went to this place regularly in college, you either get a really good nail technician or a not so experienced one. I would leave with cuts due to the electric filers. I topped coming here because one technician pulled my cuticle so hard I developed a growth that I needed to had to get removed. I wrote the first part of this review 2 yrs ago, I just removed my entire nail matrix on my right pinky toe because of a bad experience with the old male technician. He pulled my pinky cuticle so hard it bled and I developed a tumor from this years later. Doctors have told me that I may not grow back my pinky nail because My entire nail matrix is now GONE. I have done 3 surgeries to remove this tumor. So please if you read this please be careful, their work is sloppy. read more

I went here while visiting family and the staff was rude and dismissive. I asked for an eyebrow waxing and explained to the technician that the skin under my eyebrows was sensitive to heat and asked her to make sure she cooled the wax as much as possible. She said the wax was already cool and didn't bother to cool it when applying to the first eye. When I mentioned that it felt like I got burned on the first pass, she kind of blew on the wax before applying again. Needless to say, I was severely burned. Additionally, when I told her I was definitely burned, they did not offer to comp any of the bill and publicly shamed me for not wanting to leave a tip. I will not be returning. Terrible people. Went for a pedicure recently and the guy painted ALL over my toe knuckles - and left it there. I didn't notice til I got home otherwise I obviously would have said something. They do have a very nice selection of nail polish colors that are usually in color order, which really satisfies my organizational needs. Trying to find my go-to nail salon in New Paltz! After seeing that this nail salon had the best reviews, I called to make an appointment for a regular manicure. I went at 2:30 on a Monday so it was nice and empty. They have an average selection of colors and they took me right away after choosing my color. My manicure came out very nice, i'm pleased. Since I bite my cuticles I was looking specifically for sterilized tools and clean materials. I saw that they sterilize cuticle nippers in some liquid like all nail salons, however, the nail file and file block were definitely used before and dirty. While my nails were drying a woman gave me a short complimentary neck massage, very nice. I felt as though the staff could have been friendlier. Even with my complaints I'll probably return due to the bad reviews given to other nail salons in the area. read more

Inconsistent quality. (Long read but honest and informative!) So I came here for the first time back in April because I heard they were the "better" nail salon. I got gel nails and a regular pedicure. I don't remember much about how long the pedicure lasted, but it looked good while it did. The gel nails looked really good and lasted a while, and I got a lot of compliments on it. Fast forward to last Sunday. Only 8 days ago. I came in to get SNS done on my nails, and asked to wait for Faye, since she did my nails the last time. I had to have a guy in the salon translate for me, since most of the techs aren't fluent in English. While I waited, someone else did my gel pedicure. I chose a color and we began, but the tech advised me to pick another color since the one I chose wasn't very opaque. I went to chose another, and it took a few minutes since I wanted it to match my chosen manicure color. While I was choosing and comparing colors, I could tell the techs were getting annoyed, as if I was being a nuisance?? About three techs came up to where I was and started speaking to each other in (I believe) Mandarin or Cantonese. After I settled on a color, we got back to the pedicure. I remember the last pedicure I got feeling amazing, but this one was very meh. The tech wasn't very warm, though not necessarily rude either. Faye came in in the middle of my pedicure, so when it was done, I didn't really look at it much and went to get my manicure. She did the manicure with the SNS (a powder you dip your fingers into, similar to acrylic but without the added extension). She dipped my nails three times (so three layers) and they were noticeably chunky, even after she buffed them down. I asked her about that and she claimed it was supposedly because my nails bed is curved (???) and that it will look better as my nails grow out. Now, I'd never gotten SNS before now, but that didn't seem right to me, but I told myself I'd give her the benefit of the doubt. Once again, just like when I was ADVISED to choose a new color for my feet, the same lady who did my pedicure came up to her and they started talking; I could tell by her tone and her glances that it had to do with my questioning her work (how *dare* I right?!) After my pedicure finished, I went to pay Faye and she asked me if I had cash for the tip. I didn't, so she told me "Just put it on the card, but next time bring cash, we prefer that." Here's the thing; a tip is not guaranteed. I planned to tip, and almost always do, but do not make it seem as if I'm inconveniencing you when I have just as much right to walk out and give you zero extra. I paid, got my card stamped and left. I started inspecting my nails as I left, and noticed it was not as dark or as sparkly as it was on the sample nail. You can't even tell it sparkles unless it is under a bright light and you look closely. The polish looks almost the same exact color as my bare nails. My feet that I neglected to inspect? JANK! Absolutely JANK! The polish is so sloppy and uneven, you can see some of my bare nail in places, and it is more opaque in some places than others. Fast forward two days. The SNS on the corner of my right index finger chipped off, and my real nail with it! Fast forward to 15 minutes ago, the SNS on the corner of my right index finger has chipped off also. So much for strength and long lasting. This is the most dilapidated $73 I have ever spent on nails. It really should be fixed for free, but I don't think I'd like to step foot in there again. It was an absolute 180 between the experience I had in April versus last week. Shame. read more

No chit chat, suits me fine. They don't soak your nails thank heavens, I hate soaking them in that stupid bowl of water. Nails a little shorter than I wanted but I'll live. Great experience for gel nails! Yoyo was the technician for my mom's Christmas present manicure and she was wonderful. Great attention to detail, the gel is a perfect thickness! We also did a paraffin was wrap and it was WELL WORTH IT. My mom has very tough skin and hard worked hands that we very moisturizer afterward. I got a dip manicure one week ago. These things are supposed to last about two weeks, sometimes even three. On day three I looked down to see cracks in two of the nails. Couldn't go get them fixed because I was leaving that day to go on vacation for the weekend. Came back with two chipped nails, not on the same fingers as the cracks. I don't have kids or a labor intensive job, so it's not like I'm doing activities that warrant this much noticeable and ugly damage in less than a week. I haven't written a bad review in a while but this called for it. Came in to get sns dip. I already had it on my nails. Someone came and started removing it and wrapped up my fingers with tin foil and then the waiting game started. Waited half an hour before anyone even came around to check up. Then they proceeded to do my nails and was getting up every 5 minutes to do something else. I specified in the beginning that I don't want it too short, she clipped it till the very edge on the first go. I said I want the sides to be very straight and not have it be too thick on the too with powder. Despite correcting multiple times, it still came our slanted on the sides and is very thick at the edges. By this time I am already 1 hr 40 min into it. It was freezing cold in the place and my hands were freezing so I asked then to increase the heat or if there is a portable heater but they said it already on. Finally it was done and I just wanted to get out and then the lady kept touching my nail after the top coat was applied to check if it was dry and kept messing it up and had to go back and re buff and redo the top coat again. She did it again at the end and the end put a gel top coat on, which fell off my big thumb the next morning. And at the end they had the audacity to say you can get the tip from the atm machine inside or go to my car and get the cash tip while they charge my card. In total 2 hours for dip powder and they did the shittiest job. It's a shame because they have really nice color options. Will never come back. read more

My friend and I came here today for the first time, and I'm so happy with how everything went. We each got a plain manicure (12$) to try the place out, hoping that I'd finally find a nail salon in New Paltz that I actually liked. The techs were very sweet, and did a great job with shaping and painting my nails. Decent polish selections, plenty of pedicure and nail stations, and exceedingly clean conditions have definitely solidified this place as my go-to nail salon for now on. A quick shoulder massage at the drying station was a great touch, and honestly I think I'd want to get a full 10 minute massage next tin I'm there! My daughter and I came for gel and powder manicures. the staff member told us we needed to wait for a tech that did those services. She seated us and apologized for the wait.
