To cut or not to cut: That's the question when it comes to my cuticles. I personally love when they're cut because I wash my hands CONSTANTLY when I'm at work. Because of that, I somehow accumulate a lot of dry skin around my cuticles- even when using lotion. Plus it's so damn satisfying when that extra dry skin is trimmed off. Diamond N. was convenient and I managed to come here during my lunch time. It's spacious and clean. The young gal provided me with a warm water bath for my right hand while she buffed my left and vice versa. My natural nails looked a wee bit better afterwards- but honestly though, it wasn't all that. And when she started 'cutting', she barely cut. In fact, what she removed was my extra cuticle skin with the point of her trimmer only. $20 was just way too much money for a "manicure" read more

From the moment you walk in the door they make you feel so welcome this was my first time coming and I have to say I am very impressed with their pedicure the eye for detail they have when it comes to your feet and making it feel so good is unbelievable I have to say it was the best pedicure I've ever had . Julie, Jessie, (Johnson who does pedicures, but doesn't paint your nails) are all great! They are also friendly, which I personally enjoy. I got a manicure & pedicure twice on July 20th before my birthday & on December 22nd, 2024. It's always a treat to get my nails done. The photo is from my 1st time there. I like when they ask how you want your nails shaped, square, squoval, round, natural et,, as Jessie did my first time there. I took my granddaughters for a gel manicure yesterday afternoon. By morning, each granddaughter woke up with all polish missing. The polish simply slipped off their fingernails overnight. this lady does perfect nail shapes. i've been getting my nails done for 20 years that I haven't had somebody do the shape of my nail as well as the owner. I have very long nails and it's easy to mess them up and make them look all different shapes and it looks about as perfect as you could ask for. read more

This review is for the waxing services I received. Please avoid this place like the flu. I came in for a facial wax after having a great pedicure by a young man. The lady who sits by the front desk took me to the back for a wax. As soon as I laid down, I had a bad feeling about it but went along anyway. There is an old blanket that covers the chair and there was wax everywhere!!! It was not clean and as soon as she ripped off the first strip, I looked over and saw that she double dips. Meaning she used the same wooden stick to apply the wax over and over again and left the stick nearby. Gross! After the painful wax, my face broke out horribly and now I am icing my face and using neosporin constantly. Ladies, please go somewhere else or you'll be paying the price like my face is. read more

Not impressed with the quality. This review is for a gel manicure. I've been here before and had a very nice pedicure. This was my first time getting my nails done here though. I get my nails done every 2 or 3 weeks at different places because I travel for work. The woman who did my nails had terrible attention to detail and didn't make all the nails even. Then when she applied the Polish it wasn't the color I picked on the sample disk. I went through 3 other shades before I settled on one I could live with. None of them were even close to what the samples looked like. She then layered it on way to thick. I won't be surprised if it peels. Lastly I asked for a flower design and she needed to have one of the other technicians do it. Not that it made a difference because it was still something straight out of the 80s, that I'm pretty sure I could have done myself if not better. Needless to say I will not be going back for another manicure. read more

I'm overall, disappointed with this place. The lady who did my nails was very nice. But the foot bath smelled pretty funny when I got my pedicure, and it just didn't seem sanitary. Also, I got a gel mani/pedi and I'm pretty disappointed with how it came out. It looks like I did my own nails and since this is gel and $52 dollars, I'm going to keep the, but I Probably won't be going back which is a shame because I wanted to like this place. EXTREMELY unprofessional & unacceptable customer service. Booked an appointment for a full set and eyebrow waxing. I had gone once before a year or so ago and had my toes done. Made the mistake of going back. Instead of soaking the A n C off of my fingers nails, she took a pair of nail clippers and pried inbetween my actual nail and the fake nail. While doing so punctured my actual nail into my nail bed. I should have known at that point but I let her continue. Time goes on and people start coming in but there's only 2 women working and only one of which is actually doing nails. So the one finished shaping my nails and sends me to the other to get the gel. You could see that this women had minimum experience. Once finished I knew I didn't like them, but I paid and left. I sat in my car for a minute or two staring at them until I decided to go back in and tell her that I didn't like them. That they were lumpy and misshapen. She said she'd fix them but not for a few hours or until the next day. That in itself is unacceptable. So frustrated I left again. ALSO KEEP IN MIND I NEVER GOT MY EYEBROWS DONE. Never got my eyebrows done because they couldn't manage their time. A couple hours later I went back and said I no longer wanted them to be fixed, I just wanted a refund. I spent $40 on my nails, they should have been done right the first time. Refused to give me a refund unless I let her take the nails off, also refused to give me the number of the owner. I finally gave in and let her soak my nails off because 1, they were horrible, and 2 I wanted my money back. By the end she gave me my refund, not the tip. I will never return read more

Dang! I am trying SO hard to find a nail salon in the New Paltz area that meets my standards, but none seem to exist. Diamond is a small, very mediocre nail salon. I had a walk-in pedicure with the male technician. There were only two nail techs working on Friday at 4:30. The other tech kept a women waiting with her nails dipped in water for about 20 minutes while she finished a fill. The pedicure seats are old acrylic ones, no hygienic plastic cover is used in the basin. The water smells sulphuric going in. The rolling cart was pretty dirty and disorganized and the hand soap they used on my feet was from the dollar store, as was the hand/body cream. The tech was not methodical in the nail polish application, in fact he painted sideways a bit (I mean what?!). I feel I could have done it at home myself. I hate to say it but save yourself the money (20$) and go across the river to get a quality, meticulous, pampering service. read more

I'm using my husbands yelp account to post this review because I am too lazy to open my own. ;-) This family-run nail salon is my go-to place for consistent, friendly services at affordable prices. Is it the most luxurious spa I've ever been to? No. It's clean, the people are very talented nail techs and you couldn't meet kinder, nicer people.. Today, I called to ask if I could bring my two visiting sister-in-laws in for mani/pedis while I get a fill, and they accommodated us, no problem, with an appointment. Salon was really disappointing. It's not very clean and they are not skilled what so ever. I went for a full set and ended up with super thick lumpy nails that were crooked and uneven. Although the people there were super nice, they just don't know what they are doing and are not up on the latest nail trends. I ended up going back to have them take my set off. The nail tech was trying to rip them off and I had to ask if they could soak them bc it they were hurting me. After all that, she gave me a gel manicure that was lumpy and did not even cover my entire nail and It chipped with in a week. I will never go back. read more

Asked for a gel manicure got the male tech. He cut me & hurt me. He used something that burned. He did the absolute worst job I've ever had EVER he didn't file my nails where needed then he put on only one coat. He painted my nails like a 3 year old could have done better. I was extremely upset I need to look my best for my career. So I explained to the woman respectfully that it was a terrible job and I couldn't leave with my hands like this. Could she please just remove the gels. Normally an owner would maybe apologize and try to correct the problem but instead she angrily slapped on remover cotton & foils and says " NOW YOU CAN SIT THERE FOR TEN MINUTES". What? Then she says in a barely understandable English " you never had gel before? I said " I always have gel for years!" She says well you should have told him he was doing it wrong ----I'm supposed to tell the guy how to do a manicure now? I usually gets my nails done across the river, but it was raining so I decided to check out this place. Walked in, the place was very untidy. The water smells like rotten eggs. The male gave me a fill which I thinks was the worst ever. He did my fill in less than 20 mins and charged me 20.00 dollars. I will never go back to Diamond Nails again. I normally don't write reviews but I feel as if this place really deserves one. This place is quite small compared to other nail salons in new paltz but I feel as if this is the best. This place is definitely my favorite. This is always my first choice to go to, to get my nails done. It has amazing customer focus and service. There are two workers. A man and a woman. They are very kind and polite and they do everything they can to satisfy me every time I'm there. There aren't a lot of nail salons around here where you have genuinely kind people doing your nails. I highly recommend this place to everyone. It is very clean, it has very talented nail technicians and they have very reasonable prices!! They really do a great job. I am always very pleased and satisfied when getting my nails done here and I'm glad that I came across this place it is terrific.
