When I called to make an appointment I was advised that Dr. Stambuck had left their practice and moved to Kaiser and that it was sort of a "policy" that none of their neurologists on staff "would accept new patients with existing histories". I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I was being told they wouldn't even give me a consultation just because I had a previous history of neurological related issues. They didn't even ask my name or review my history before advising this. It was just a "Sorry, we won't help you". To me, that is unprofessional and unethical.

Without any doubt, Dr. Trevor McNutt is the cream of the crop when it comes to neurology. a) He didn't pull the "oh, so that's what the OTHER doctor said, but I need to run all my own tests (which will cost you $$$) because I don't believe that you know your own health history/I am smarter than your doctor. Instead, he read my questionnaire with my history, asked a few questions, and really engaged me about my own health. b) While I have no idea about his personality in general, he seems nice, genuine and not full of hot air like many doctors. He gets you from the waiting from himself, writes his own prescriptions, talks to you like a person. Plus, his front desk staff is always awesome, timely, and seems happy. That's a good sign. c) He is creative. I've been through pretty much every barrage of meds for my migraines; both preventative and as they happen. However, he busted out not one, but TWO treatments that I haven't tried before. One didn't work, and the other (botox for chronic migraine) cut my migraines from 3-5 a week to about 1 a week. Talke about results. d) He'll go to bat for you with insurance (or at least his office staff will). Very few places have made me feel confident that they have my best interests (health and financial at heart). e) I'm usually in an out in less than 20, more if I have more questions. Little to no time in the waiting room, and since you seem him directly (rather than a slough of PAs), it seems less like a time trap, and more getting stuff done and getting out. I am not taking any long-term medications, but I have PSA tests yearly. I'm a 78-year-old male. I saw a PA, Tess Henderson, who recommended the drug Prolia/Denosumab. I never saw an MD, and her recommendation did not account for my osteopenia rather than osteoporosis. The drug is not effective for osteopenia. Some of the side effects, both mild and serious, pose severe health risks. There was no discussion of the risks, especially kidney damage, and I have only one functioning kidney. Ms. Henderson was asked to determine the cost of the drug treatment (a lifetime treatment you cannot stop easily) and to let me know the patient's cost. I have yet to hear anything from Ms. Henderson regarding the co-pay. Blue Cross and Blue Shield initially denied the treatment. Without my consent or knowledge, Ms. Henderson requested a second review. Blue Cross and Blue Shield approved the drug treatment based on information resubmitted. There was no explanation for the change in the drug's approval. I I have tried to meet with the manager at Neurosurgery One. He declined my request without any explanation (no return phone call). I have also tried to obtain information from Blue Cross, but to no avail. Ms. Henderson, in my opinion, is practicing medicine without a license. I firmly believe that Neurosurgery One allows this type of practice. Under no circumstances should anyone become a patient of Neurosurgery One. It's a terrible practice, and no MD will be available when needed. Please don't go there because you may be putting your future health at risk. MDs do not supervise the NPs, allowing NPs to practice medicine without a license. MDs must be required to consult with patients and not abandon their practice of medicine by allowing Nurse Practitioners to make major medical decisions.

Well, I went back to my PC and she referred me to another surgeon. After this new doc had seen the x-rays he got me in for surgery right away. They said originally that this 2nd surgery, a level 5 fusion should've taken 60- 90 mins., took nearly 4 hours because the damage that occurred was more extensive than expected. 3 days after surgery, I received a call from the CDC telling me I needed to get to an emergency room that day. I had been infected with staphylococcus they had traced to the hardware Dr Smith installed. Upon arrival at the hospital, staff immediately installed a Pic line to try a catch the infection that was ravaging my body. For the next 4 weeks I had to inject antibiotics directly to my heart at the cost of $500/day! Followed by a month of oral antibiotics. It is horrific what this clown put me through as the infection caused a hardening of my heart muscle tissue, reducing it's function to 40% of normal and am now on 6 ltrs of oxygen 24/7. In addition there is irreversible damage to my spine with extensive nerve damage. My life has been shortened by 20 years and I'll have to live with this pain till I die which could be any moment due to heart failure. Gee, thanks you f***ing a**hole! He was very professional and the surgery went well. The pre-op documentation and the zoom meeting were very helpful. The office experience was fine with everyone we met with. I had a PA seeing me daily when I was in the hospital. Dr Allison met with me in the hospital too. My wife received updates by text when I was in surgery. She appreciated the updates. I walked into my appointment on 5/9/24 at Advanced Neurological not just to follow up on treatment, medications, & to get my recurring disability paperwork completed, but also to speak about feeling harmed by another physician I was referred out to (treatment abandonment). I left that appointment feeling harmed by this clinic directly. Knowing part of my appointment was filling out disability paperwork that ensures my continuance of disability income, the administration never told me that part of their policy change was that management would have to review all disability paperwork going forward and, at their discretion, would determine if they would complete the required paperwork, or if they would refer patients out to their primary physician to complete. It is unclear to me why a neurological clinic doesn't see themselves fit to complete disability paperwork for patients with neurological disabilities (and while after accepting payment no less) & who are currently in the social security disability process. It is further unclear to me why a neurological clinic would see a primary/general practitioner as more fitting for this. I digress. I was charged $150 for the appointment before being told this, which was thankfully and rightfully refunded to me. I cannot say if this would have been refunded to me had I not pressed that they just made my barrier to entry for ANOTHER PHYSICIAN to fill out my required paperwork in merely three weeks very difficult. Why are you making your patients add additional, very costly, physician appointments to their care schedules when this adds physical, emotional, and financial stress to their lives? And for those with insurance, why are you bloating our healthcare with unnecessary payments when you're capable of completing all of the required tasks a clinician treating a person with neurological disabilities should. This is common sense, I fear. I have had a severe increased in ALL disability symptoms since leaving my appointment. This was caused directly because of increased stress from this clinic's bizarre change in filling out paperwork and my disability paperwork possibly not getting done in time. I am not seeing this clinic, that accepts state Medicare and Medicaid funding, as catering to their patients with disabilities. People with disabilities are not safe being treated at this clinic. I was ensured by my treating clinician, Kate Kraus last year that she would be able to take care of the transferring of my medications over the phone. This was due to complications with so many other terrible physicians I worked with and financial issues with me being one of the 4.5 million Americans in 2023 who were unjustly removed from access to Medicaid. This clinic has made being able to continue the cruel process through SSDI as a disabled person so much more dreadfully difficult. Anyone dealing with a case such as mine should be cautious working with Advanced Neurological or Alexander Feldman, the owner. Also this office has no portal and works on fax machines with no email. How are elderly and disabled patients working well with this? This hasn't been the first complaint about this and I can see why Alexander Feldman opted to push disability paperwork off to other physicians, because these are not practices a trauma informed office who caters to people living with disabilities, and who are accepting state funds to accept those types of patients, should operate. Dr Feldman should be ashamed. Your office has left me with 3 weeks to get an appointment or my disability income gets discontinued while I wait to literally sue the federal government for its completely inability to even handle its own SSDI process.
