What a surprise! I happened to be in the area and I knew I had to try this restaurant out…read more I saw this restaurant on instagram. And it's a little bit of a drive from where I live. But today I happen to be in the area and I told my husband to try this place out. He was so happy! Once you place your order our waitress came with a big plate of sweet bread and you get to pick one! I picked the concha and my husband got the pineapple empanada! We ordered a bit of everything. My husbands go to meal always is chilaquiles. So he ordered the DIVORCIADOS $16.50 Half green and half red with carne asada and beans. We also got the CARNE EN SU JUGO $15.99 And I got the MENUDO ROJO $15.50 Let me start off by saying everything was amazing! It all tasted like it was homemade! Perfectly seasoned, with hand made tortillas. The carne en su jugo was really good! I understand why they are known for that dish. I loved my Menudo! I was craving it and it was perfect. The chilaquiles, the chips weren't soggy, they still had a bite to them. The sauces had so much flavor! My husband and I left with full bellies and a big smile on our faces! All the waitresses and waiters were so nice! Diego was telling us the story of the restaurant. Which was nice to hear. All family owned. Hopefully they open another restaurant closer to us!!! Fingers crossed! I will definitely come back to this restaurant and recommend it to all my family and friends!

I asked for a second cup, hoping it would be different, but it was just as sweet. The jamaica had very little flavor, and the mole chilaquiles were bland and lacked the rich flavor I was expecting. The only highlight of our visit was the waitress. She was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our meal. Sadly, the food was very disappointing, and I don't see myself coming back.

This is one of my favorite ramen joints in San Diego now. It has ramen noodles, in a broth;…read moretherefore, it's a ramen joint. LMAO Where else am I going to find ramen broth and meat with this much flavor? NOT most of the other ramen joints in towns, unfortunately. Even without the noodles, this is easily one of the most savory menudo I've had. (I think most menudo is too watery and bland) And that's the best part. They weren't trying to make a Japanese broth. They were just making the best menudo. And then someone randomly decided to add ramen noodles. The birria is amazing and the broth becomes a delightful birria broth. They also provide more cilantro, onion, radish, and lime than pretty much anyone else. And at a time when a lot of pho places hesitate to give me a single lime slice, Ed Fernandez is giving me like an entire lime. The noodles themselves are cheap, thinner noodles, which are still good, but are easily the weakest part of the dish. The tortillas are also relatively unique. The way they make them is obviously different than most other joints. I also got a torta, which was heavenly. The bread was crazy soft, but still had a bit of crispy texture on the corners somehow. And the flavor of the birria worked even better here than in the menudo. I'll be back.
