    Chicken Lomo (stir fry bowl)
    Jeremy D.

New Food Truck to try out! The two smoke stacks on the top of the truck filled the streets with BBQ aroma and tantalized hungry eaters. Pollo Inferno specializes in Peruvian style marinated chicken over a wood charcoal grill. They also serve beef and shrimp. I ordered their main specialty - Chicken Lomo (stir fry bowl). It had stir fried marinated chicken with green onions & cherry, over a bed of fries, lightly fried white rice, and gourmet salad. Make sure to order a soda, goes well with the BBQ. I was impressed by the number of staff in the truck, usually there are only two people and receiving my meal would take longer - but not Pollo Inferno. I received my dish within 5 minutes after ordering from the friendly cashier. The French fries were thick with a soft crunch and the fresh off the grill warm sliced chicken was tender and I tasted the Wood BBQ with Every single Bite. I did not expect them to make a home run! I will be back when I see them next in any food truck lineup!

Stopped into Blue Note for a refill on our Keg and the smell had us intrigued. A very friendly and knowledgeable man about the menu approaches us and seals the deal for us with "Best Chicken ever I promise you!" Not disappointed one bit, might even return for dinner it was that good! I had the loaded steak fries. Steak was medium, sliced thin and not shy with quantity between fries, steak or toppings. Literally had to fight my 7 year old off of them. Hubby had the Chicken Lomo. Let me tell you, he wasn't sharing LOL! The chicken was cooked to PERFECTION!!! A great balance between all the flavors.

Ordered the chicken box, boardwalk fries and steak lomo. Everything was DEEEELICIOUS! I'm salivating as I write this. Definitely check this truck out! The chicken and steak were perfectly cooked - had that nice char and was soft and seasoned well. The boxes came with a TON of salad and fries. They could have cut the amount in half and I still would have paid the same. I had an entire entree size salad leftover!

Oops, I practically finished my salad before remembering to take a photo . Nice surprise was the malt vinegar!

Tried the chicken box for Takeout Tuesday food truck event at Morse Park today. Soo filling for me and I had the 1/4 chicken size. Comes with a greens/slaw salad, a ton of plump fries with 2 different dressings (for the salad or fry dipping). My personal fav was the green one. Grilled Chicken was moist and flavorful. I hope this truck returns to the neighborhood again. Nice service too!

Super impressed with this food truck! I was going to go for the steak box but last minute changed my order to the quarter chicken box since with a name like Pollo Inferno the chicken has to be good. It did not disappoint! Great flavor to the chicken. Cooked perfectly and so moist. The side salad was not basic by any means and the bed of fries was plentiful. An amazing price for how much food I received. The staff was so friendly too. My tummy was full and happy! Everyone else from my team was raving about the food quality as well. Thank you!!

If I could rate 8 stars I would. This place is ridiculously good. Why is this not a restaurant! I ordered a steak and shrimp stir fry... holy $#!+. You know those last meals they talk about in prison? this place is on that list to order from. Love it.

You enter and, even though they have a good amount of tables, you are expected to order at the front. They have a wide variety of Peruvian dishes and also pupusas. My party ordered a few dishes: ceviche mixto, chicken soup, lomo saltado and bistec a lo pobre. The chicken soup was delicious with two generous pieces of chicken. It was exactly what I needed for a cold day. The ceviche mixto was also tasty. A bit spicy but tolerable. The sweet potato was a bit hard and the clam (?) didn't look too appetizing. The lomo was also tasty. With crispy French fries and well seasoned rice. The bistec a lo pobre could improve. The meat was a bit tough and the eggs were a bit on the over cooked side. Even though most of the food was good, I should say that they need to improve with the paper plates and plastic utensils for those that dine-in. It was tough to cut the sweet potato with a plastic knife. More so attempting to cut the steak. Maybe their focus should be as a to-go establishment instead, even with the large amount of tables available. I will add that the staff were extremely welcoming and attentive. I might come back for pick up but avoid it as a dine-in option.

The new restaurant takes over the former Moe's Southwest Grill space, which closed at the end of August 2024. they do have another location in Laurel, Maryland, that I haven't been to. First, let's start with Palacio de Peru has been a family owner of business with multiple locations serving the signature style of pollo de la Brasa rotisserie chicken. They have been around since 2008. While the rotisserie chicken looks great. It was actually pictures of the Lomo saltado on social media that lured me in. I actually tried ordering online through their sites through DoorDash and I got a bit confused because some entrées came with two sides however there wasn't an option to pick the sides. Now as I understand it after going in the sides very daily so you actually have to call for sides. They are assuming once you pick up your meal, you would pick the two sides. I ended up getting the Lomo saltado and the Carne Asada to go. Both of these dishes were $21.99 came with two sides and I selected plantains and rice. Let me begin with the meat for both the Lomo saltado and the Carne Asada. It was tender and absolutely delicious. The sauce on the Lomo saltado was amazing overthe fries so I wholeheartedly give this one two thumbs up even though it seems a little pricey as well with it for the money. The plantains that came as a side were sweet, perfectly cooked and delicious. I do have one point of concern is that both rice sides a bit hard to eat. Hasn't the rice was not cooked and it was hard. That was a real turn off. The fact was it was not just the white rice that came with the Lomo but also the side of rice I picked that almost look like fried rice for the Carne Asada both hard as hell. The staff in here is very friendly and the inside is very spacious so it is definitely a great dine in option as well. I'm not sure if the prices are high of the current state of the world right now, but I would actually come back here for the Lomo Saltado I hope that whoever reads this review figures out how to use a rice cooker. The family chicken meals look to be like they would be a great deal so I might consider those the next time.

There's a lot to choose from and we will definitely come back to try other food selections. We order mango juice and horchata. The juice for me is a little off but I just need to get used to it. The lomo saltado presented a mixed dining experience. While the sauce was a highlight, adding depth and moisture to the dish, the meat was disappointingly tough. The rice fell short, tasting somewhat bland and lacking the vibrant flavor one expects from this classic Peruvian stir-fry. Despite these shortcomings, the overall taste showed promise. The sauce worked hard to elevate the dish, providing a welcome layer of flavor that somewhat compensated for the less impressive elements. A bit more attention to meat preparation and rice seasoning could transform this from an average meal to an exceptional one. The wings delivered a satisfying crunch and generally pleasant flavor. The lemon pepper seasoning showed promise, creating an enjoyable taste experience. However, the absence of dressing was a notable disappointment, potentially leaving the wings feeling slightly incomplete. The crispy texture stood out as a highlight, suggesting skilled preparation that resulted in a well-cooked batch of wings. Will be back.

At first, from…read morea distance, I was actually thinking maybe it was a grocery store, but walking up, I saw there were some tables inside by the window. (I also saw some very happy-looking people with big smiles on their faces leaving with bags that I now realize must've contained some delicious and much-anticipated takeout!). We went in and perused the menu, and I decided to just try some of the side dishes -- beans, lentils, salad, and Cuban coffee. What I got was huge, hot, tasty, and enticingly arranged on a plate. Well, okay, the beans were hot, the salad was not, ha ha! The beans were plain and the lentils were spiced just right! I got two different kinds of sauces with which to experiment and ended up eating every morsel and downed almost the entire HUGE cup of coffee! My dining partner delighted in a tilapia appetizer (Okay, I mean, meal posing as and called an appetizer!) that came in a -- again -- huge goblet with a bit of cinnamon-spiced sweet potato and a couple of crunchy plantain chips, plus a cute little bowl of roasted corn. Those perfectly-roasted kernels were absolutely delicious! I mean to just taste a couple pieces, but ... ate most of them. I thought maybe I'd take them hope but nope! They did not make it out of there -- no leftovers were to be had from this meal! Every morsel was eaten on the spot. I left without a bit of hunger left in me ... and felt satisfied and satiated for hours after. The décor in this place is especially delightful! I don't think I'd ever seen a grass-green ceiling before dripping with so much good-times, good-vibes feeling. I felt enveloped by the greenery along the windows and the art on the walls and Peruvian history in the showcase by the door all added such special touches as I've never seen before -- it's the kind of thing you'd usually need a special invite to get to view in someone's home, or maybe similar things could be seen in a museum -- but in a little café? Rare! It really added to the fun and special feeling here. I enjoyed learning more about Peru -- even when the subject matter was ... what some might call less than fun (war). The serious subjects are literally showcased in an artistic, attractive way. The bathrooms are clean, large, and accessible with all the amenities for which one would hope -- and the extra bonus of super-cool-looking tiles all around! I enjoyed the textures of the tiles and the contrasting colours of them converging at the corners of the room, as well .... Maybe it's not something everyone would consciously notice, but these details, I'm sure, do add to the experience and enhance it even when one is not inclined to pay attention to such things. There are positive, uplifting, empowering messages showcased throughout and the bowls on the shelves behind the counter are just stunningly, eye-poppingly beautiful! The staff are all very generous with their time and aim to please. I enjoyed learning more about Yerba Maté -- including what 'mate' means! I had no idea .... It's very interesting because it can and does mean different things in different countries. I have so much to learn! This is the exact opposite of going somewhere where people are bored and don't care -- I would say everyone with whom I spoke here was invested! Just that care and concern makes it worth a visit, in my view! There's apparently a buffet on weekends -- I haven't tried that, so I can't comment on it yet, but maybe next time! For me, the best part of all this was I felt (at least a bit!) like I was stepping into another culture (or cultural combo.), so it was a nice vacay away from the U.S. -- a really short, and yet profound one! When I get to experience something like this, it connects me to the world ... and I feel more whole, less isolated by that isolationist policy that has formed so much of the American culture that treats other places (such as countries) as if they are not in another place, but another time -- the past. So for me, this kind of thing is very important. Coming here was a whole-ing experience! Thank GOD I just so happened to happen upon it! Yay! Highly recommended! :-D
