Small town feel. Great for lingering visits over lunch. Mike is a local and is owner and chef and a great historian!

    Myles sandwich! Delicious.

Super cute local sandwich/ deli shop! I was pleasantly surprised with the large selection of items they had ranging from sandwiches to burgers and quiche! They also sold an assortment of baked goods from Marie Bette. They had about some indoor setting and some tables outside for the warmer months. Great location for grab and go and hit some of the wineries nearby. We got the Myles sandwich which had a very nice apple jam/ slaw that was delicious with the ham and bacon! We also got a kids grilled cheese which the kids loved (it was also on really good sourdough bread), and my husband got the special steak and cheese (which was pretty mid comparatively). That being said, this place has a little something for everyone! Definitely will be coming back to try more of their sandwiches!

This is the amazing Bomber Burger and kettle chips plate!

What a fabulous find! I love this combo cafe/shop/grocery easily found right on 29S (Monacan Trail). Super cute place, comfy casual seating, and incredible food! The burgers are made from farm fresh, grass fed meat and are definitely the best burgers I've ever had! The Bomber Burger is truly special! Perfectly cooked with cheese, pickle, top flight bacon, tomato, and jalapeño (which I skipped). It comes with truly tasty, crisp kettle chips and a pickle slice. Service is spot on! Dessert is your choice but I highly recommend anything from the famous MarieBette Bakery that this store stocks! Paradise was found in a slice of MarieBette flourless chocolate cake. They also have a variety of sandwiches (hot and cold) and salads. The shop portion of the business contains a wonderful array of vintage, artistic, and modern jewelry, wood decor, paintings, and cosmetics. Groceries include local, farm fresh offerings such as eggs and butter. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. I love this place and have put it on my regular rotation of go-to places to eat!

I got diarrhea from just reading the 3-page report. All kinds of health violations with most of them being repeat violations. I have never seen a report worse than this one. Spooky Action ________ To: The Virginia Department of Agricultural and Consumer Services (VDACS) Date-Time: July 11, 2020, 7:00PM EDT I just noticed a Yelp review re: The Trading Post. It's from 12/18/2017 but it is the sort of thing I would expect when dealing with a gas station sandwich shop. The problem is magnified by the fact that The Trading Post is a hub for area tradesmen, many of whom do not wear masks to protect themselves from Covid-19. So it's an easy path from customer, to their breathed-upon money, to the cashier, to that cashier also spewing his/her no-mask oral spray and Covid-19 fingers onto sandwiches, to the customer's stomach, to the emergency room and, finally, to the graveyard. All because some poorly trained individual couldn't be bothered or doesn't take this matter seriously. I have to agree with the reviewer that it is absolutely deplorable if the people at The Trading Posts are not, at least currently, taking this matter seriously. Questions: * Has any VDACS staff addressed this issue with The Trading Post? * Is VDACS requiring food handlers to wear masks and gloves? * If so, are there fines for noncompliance? * Does VDACS have any view about the The Trading Post's current health awareness? * What do I do if I witness open-food handling w/o masks or gloves? Note: I will reevaluate this review after receiving a response from VDACS.

Thankfully, the owner Norm Jenkins has taken the manager role as well and revived this sinking ship. The store is open 7 days a week and is open at 7:30, the other managers had the store open W-Sun and their hours were minimal, open 8 hours a day tops. Your basics are met for breakfast and lunch at Plank Road, with pastries and biscuits to burgers and Boar's Head sandwiches. The real attraction is the nightlife on Friday's and Saturday's, musical performances, local beer on tap, and good food make Plank Road Exchange an under the radar nightlife hotspot. They also have a small selection of wines, beers, and local produced products. Check out their website: www.plankroadexchange.com ; currently there is a pretty nasty and false letter on the homepage (which is currently being held hostage by Aris Cuadra). The two that were running Plank Road were not generating profits and were told to plan to vacate if things did not change this in 2 months. I do not mean to rant but I recently visited their homepage, saw the false statement and wanted to give Plank Road Exchange my support and fair defense. Peek in the door, it'll be Norm's smiling face waiting for you! PS- You can order your food how you would like it without Aris yelling at you!!!!

This place is popular and there will be a wait, so plan accordingly. It's not terribly large but has a friendly family vibe. They turn the tables as fast as possible, but the wait is worth it. Next the food. We ordered a special combo which gave us the cheese bread (Fat & Sassy), any large salad on the menu, and any pizza for $50. It was about a $6 savings. It was more than enough for two. We took home most of the bread and the pizza. The Delmarva Shrimp Cobb was fantastic, especially with the lemon vinaigrette. The Little Mermaid Pizza was truly unique. Shrimp, roasted tomatoes, pesto, cheddar, Feta, and Mozz on their delicious thin crust. It was definitely a fork and knife pizza. As we watched around us, everything that came out of the kitchen looked great. Wings, mozzarella sticks, soups, Chinese inspired bowls. It's a varied menu and every plate around us was cleans or boxed to take home. Bonus. All the servers have been with the company for 10 years or more which says a lot about this organization and its management/ownership. Definitely plan a trip.

We weren't sure what this restaurant would be like, since we drove through a dark and narrow road to get there. Much to our surprise, this was a full sit-down experience, and we had to wait 30-40 minutes to be seated. We decided to share the TRIPLE THREAT COMBO! (49.99) which comes with cheesy garlic bread (their signature!), one large salad, and one large specialty pizza. This was a lot of food, and we had enough leftovers to feed another mouth and half. THE FAT AND SASSY Their menu claims that this is the "best garlic cheese bread ever". And indeed it was because I wolfed down seven pieces of that bread within 15 minutes. I love that this was practically a pizza -- round pizza dough topped generously with cheddar and whole cloves of roasted garlic. The cheesy grease and pungent aromatic flavors exploded in my mouth. After seven pieces, I knew I had to stop because there was other food to come. CAESAR SALAD This was a typical Caesar salad with above average Caesar dressing, but there was just way too much of it mixed in. Besides that, pretty solid! I would ask for the dressing on the side in the future. THE HEAVY HAND This is Dr Ho's version of the Meat Lovers pizza, which was topped generously with sopressata, capicola, Italian sausage, and other ingredients like shaved onions, mushroom, and variety of cheeses. We got this one because we wanted more protein, but unfortunately, with the amount of cured meat that was slathered on, it was overbearingly salty. After my first slice of pizza, I started taking meat off my slice because it was too much. Overall, 3.5/5, but bumping to a 4/5 because we were pretty sure we would have had a better experience if we chose a different pizza. Still, I'm happy we got to try a restaurant in the Charlottesville area that is popular and well-loved by locals. Also, fantastic pricing with honestly the best cheesy garlic bread I've ever had. I would recommend getting here ASAP especially during the weekends because they don't take reservations or call ahead orders for dine in.

My wife took one sip and gave me that look... the one that says, "I love you, but this is unacceptable." So we broke camp early and pointed ourselves back toward civilization. About three miles down the road she spotted Belties. Now I've driven past that place more times than I can count, back when it looked like an old house that had just given up on things. But somebody got hold of it and turned that sow's ear into something you'd be proud to show company. We pulled in, and right off the bat--you could tell--they knew what they were doing. Service was quick, friendly, no fuss. The kind of place where nobody's trying too hard, which is usually when things turn out just right. The food? Lord have mercy. Every bit of it.
