Free to be well, free! Polo is the beach we have really enjoyed. We went 3 or 4 times in the week we were on O'ahu and loved it each time. We naturalists have had great interactions with fellow beach guests and the beach and water were a perfect little paradise that felt special! The weekends can ramp up with more people and it may be a little bit of a task finding a place to put your folding chairs and beach blanket, etc. but the people are so kind and don't mind you setting up, even if it's a handshake away. Gorgeous beach with beautiful water; it is more of a "dip in, dip out," or wade into beach because there are some rocky parts in the water but you can see clearly where there is just sand (it was topaz and turquoise!) we will absolutely be back! read more

New favorite beach on the island. A few people recommended it not only for the "natural" beauty, but also for the oceanic views. Both were great. We arrived, a bit nervously, because we have never been a beach that allows nudity. It wasn't very busy, although the parking area was quite full. It seemed like it could be difficult to find parking if we had come at a busier time. You walk down a path, where you will see horses and beautiful scenery, which leads you right down to the beach. The beach is one of the most gorgeous ones that I have been to on Oahu. The surf isn't super calm in some areas, but very enjoyable. read more

Ive been going to Polo for many MANY years, and i sure hope it isnt becoming what i saw last Saturday, because it is the type of bahaviour that will get it shut down. There were several couples enjoying a typical day at Polo, enjoying a day at the beach naturally .... and there isnt many places to do it. Our first sign was when two MF couples came blaring loud music (why must this generation force their life soundtrack on everyone around them?). This already did exactly as they had hoped ... the entire beach was now staring at them. Look at me look at me, attention, we need attention. Then, in the middle of everyone (there was once a time, people were respectful, and if they wanted to party, would go further down and not disturb the 20-30 people there), began to construct tthis set up of tents. Once construction was pau, they commenced to smoking cannabis and getting hammered drunk loud ... then a 3rd MF couple showed up, and after they were finished with their construction, joined in the cannabis (hey, I have a 420 card, so not judging that, just judging them) and drunkedness, as the couples began pouring the booze on each other and drinking it off each other. I turned to my friend, and said, ill bet you money its gonna turn into the females outdoing each other and it will become the 3 performing oral on the 3 ... and about 20 minutes later, thats what we all got. 2 guys STANDING in the MIDDLE of all of us getting oral. So to those couples I say, instead of taking advantage of the place me and my firends worked hard to maintain for you, how about show us some respect ... Do not go here if you are a woman. Men (2 guys followed us on beach). We felt uncomfortable and said we were going to leave and then one followed us. So we lingered. Then attempted to leave but walk out with someone else. Another man was like "hey girls... what you doing tonight, where do you stay, you seem cool, and started following us to car. We stopped, went back to beach. We asked a local to walk with us out. Once we left both me were there watching us leave. I have never felt so uncomfortable in my travels. What a great locale. On this beach ample island it only makes sense that they offer a clothing optional one. I went on a Tuesday and only found 4 people, which was nice and enjoyable because it was like I owned the beach. I then went on a Saturday and had butts and boobs of all varieties everywhere. Everyone was respectful and tasteful. The joy of leaving a vacation with no tan lines is just the best and sleeping in the sun the way our creator intended or crashing into waves without any drag from our trunks. 10 out of 10 absoloodle. The access path is just south of the polo club and requires you to park roadside. We were able to find it on Google maps. You will walk 1,500 ft to access the beach but it's worth every step. In the early 2000s 4 people were sites for Nudity in HI but the courts ruled it was their 1st amendment right to express themselves so precedence has been set, legally speaking. If your looking for a Seclusive and place you can escape from crowded beach this beach is for you. It's location about 30 min to 40 min depending on the traffic or time from Waikiki. The date I visited there was about 20 other people there and everyone was very respectful and kept to them self. Parking is right off the street and is a nice little walk to the actual beach. I encounter a couple of chickens and pigs along the walk. Keep in mind this is a clothing optional beach. I will most definitely be coming back here on my next visit. read more

This is a total gem! Our friend recommended we try this beach out. It's in North Shore, about a 40mins drive from where we stayed in Manoa. There's no set parking, just off the side of the road and no restrooms. There's a long dirt road you'll walk and when you see horses on left, the beach is straight ahead. It's a gorgeous beach! On the left is family friendly and to the right....nude beach! It was very quiet and secluded, which was nice. It was also not crowded, thank God! All the beaches we've gone to have been so crowded and it's been a deterrent for us. It was so nice to go to a beach and relax. Pretty we're very respectful of space and just chilled. Ummmmmm - YES, PLEASE! This beach is amazing!!!! We came here at the end of the day on a Monday evening alto end our trip around the island. I needed a place to watch the sunset, and the kids and husband needed a place t lo splash, play, and snorkel. Polo Beach hit the spot without a 3 mile hike with no shade. We got there about 45 minutes before sunset and stayed till about 30 minutes after. My husband and eldest (9) snorkeled and came across lots of sea life. Their favorite was a sea cucumber! The other three kiddos (ages 3, 7, and 8) had a great time playing in the waves as well. And a seriously perfect spot to watch the sun set!!!! While we were there, if we saw 20 other people, that might have been a stretch. Relatively quiet for Oahu. A grand time! read more

***Pre/During COVID-19 Visit*** Be aware that this is a beach where clothing is optional. The beach in itself is amazing, but lots of areas are rocky so be careful. People are very respectful, mind their own business and pretty much do their own thing. You'll see a lot of couples and single folks as well. It's super easy to miss this beach so have your coordinates correct on your GPS. You park on the side of the road, walk down a path and then the right side is the beach. The left side is more family friendly. While you're walking down the path, you'll see some horses which I thought was super cool. This beach is perfect on a hot day and the water temperature is just right. While I was there, I even got to meet some cool folks who were camping for the evening. Mahalo!!! read more

This beach is a bit out of the way, but its nice when you get there. The on shore waves can be rough, so its probably not kid friendly. It is also a clothing optional beach, so be prepared for the occasional naked person. I cant wait to visit again nextime i visit Hawaii. read more

Polo Beach is a popular spot for nude sunbathers. It is located in Mokuleia, on the North Shore. This is a lovely beach with much to offer. Out of curiosity, we came here and soon found ourselves comfortable. People were friendly and respectful. You could wear swimsuit and no one would care. I have never heard of this beach until now even though I am a local girl born and raised here. My friend, also a local girl but now resides on the mainland, told me that there's this "secret beach" that her cousins wanted to go to. Well during this ongoing pandemic and with the influx of tourists, nothing is a secret now. I sent her a link about this secret-but-not-so-secret-now beach on the North Shore that was in the news and she said that wasn't the beach. She said the beach she was talking about was apparently a nude beach. She said it was called Polo Beach. So I Yelped it and whaddayaknow we do have a so called nude beach! And it didn't occur to me that Polo Beach would be the name because, hello, it is located right behind the polo field in Waialua. So we went the next day to find this beach and basically once we saw the horses in the polo field, we parked the car on the side of the road. It was also helpful to see the sign that said "public beach access" to let us know we are in the right place. There's plenty of parking across the street as well. There were quite a few cars already parked, too. We walked the path between the polo field and another field where the horses were milling about nibbling on foliage. There weren't that many people hanging out at the beach that day. Some were fishing and there was a couple lying under the shade, but nobody was in the nude. Shucks. There were pockets of non-rocky sections of the beach for swimming but the waves were really choppy and coming sideways so we just hung out on the shoreline since I didn't notice if there was a life guard on duty to save us from drowning. No bathrooms so if you need to do #1, do it in the water. For #2, I'd say try to make it to Dole Plantation. Also, don't take the risk of leaving valuables in the car. It would be totally easy for a smash and grab to happen for all the parked cars there. read more

Love this place! Definitely easy to pass and GPS doesn't help much but if you look up where to go online you'll find it. No official parking but there's space under some trees across the road from the trail. It hasn't been crowded every time I've gone but I'm not sure about weekends. Also, there's a polo club (hence the name) beside the beach, so you get to see horses passing by while you lounge which is pretty cool! 5/5 read more

This is a nice beach if you like to go nude (or close to it!). It is in a fairly remote area of Oahu, so it's not as crowded as places like Waikiki and you can often have large stretches of the beach to yourself. I got there around 6:30 in the morning and was the only one on the west side of the beach for about the first hour. (There was a group of nude campers on the east side.) Then, a handful of guys showed up and were fishing from the shoreline. Later, two beautiful, sexy girls wearing thong bathing suits came and started taking glamour shots of each other on the beach ... oh lordy ... they raised the temperature by several degrees! A Gorgeous and quiet beach for nude sun bathing. Once you park your vehicle and go down the path towards the beach, turn right and walk a few meters. When you see a couple of nude bodies, you know you found the right place. Everyone was very respectful and kept to themselves. All orientations were at the beach. If you're not use to that or easily offended, this isn't the place for you. As I laid there sunbathing, I didn't know what the rule was to go into the water until I saw someone just walk into the water nude. I spent the majority of my morning there but got hungry and left. Plenty of shaded areas to lay in if you need a break from the sun. You'll see a few planes and parachutist around the area. If you plan on staying until the sunset, bring some food and drinks.
