I love adventuring around and finding new little beach parks. This beach park is in Wailua on the North Shore. Although there isn't a parking lot (the only thing that makes it a 4/5 stars), this is a great public beach park. There is a basketball court and a playground that has a swing set. All steps away from the ocean. I'm such a sucker for swings on the beach, it's absolutely epic. They even have a public bathroom ( I didn't check them out though). This feels more like a neighborhood beach with a decent amount of people but not too crowded. read more

Great spot for the poochies and your family! Calm beach, basket ball court out front, ample street parking, public restrooms with rinse off station. Trash cans galore. They even had a few picnic tables. We brought our pooch here and had a blast. Lots of dogs were out and about during a weekday just having fun in the water. The water is beautiful anywhere in Hawaii so of course it was here! Pick up after your dogs ! read more

Awesome little beach, with an amazing basketball court, jungle gym, plenty of grass, and plenty of beach! I've been a few times and it's usually not very crowded. This past weekend it had some birthay parties, so it was more crowded than usual, with lots of kids. Showers, bathrooms, and street parking. Water is beautiful, vibes are chill and family-friendly. Snorkeling is great. Be mindful of the beach front houses and pick up your trash. Also, stay away, this beach is great! read more

Great place for a beach party. You have to park on street but there is a lot of parking. The bathroom is clean, and there is a shower, and a children playground in the park. We held my grandson's 4th birthday party there and the kids had a blast. read more

Love this beach. Perfect for children. Also it's not that busy and they have a lot of parking.

Not a bad beach. Its located in a residential area so parking may be a bit difficult. There are rocks in the water and the sand is not the cleanest on the island. But it wasn't crowded which I like and you can fish here. Plus you can fish here. For the little kids or people of short statute like myself, there is a big rock/pipe you can jump off of. Be careful though it is very slippery and when the waves roll in its a bit rough to stay on it. read more

We loved this beach! After stopping in at "Turtle Beach" and not seeing any turtles, we decided to keep heading down Kamehameha...ended up at this beach by chance. Heading through Haleiwa, we stopped a few times at beaches and kind of went "meh..." and kept going. When we got out of the car to see if this was "the one" to stop at, we saw a turtle poking its head out of the water. We quickly ran back to the car to get our snorkel gear! As we headed out into the water, I was so excited to see not only one turtle right off the beach but at least 5-6! We were able to hang out snorkeling with them for at least an hour or 2. A few other snorkelers came and scared them away with their fins and getting too in their personal space, but our time alone with them was amazing! Lots of fish, too. We didn't go out too far into the reef, but a guy on the beach told us there are octopus out there. Great snorkeling spot and not crowded at all! We relaxed in the water for a while and had a little picnic. People were out with their dogs playing in the water. Awesome all around! read more

My favorite beach for the kiddos to play. Has a nice open grassy area, basketball courts.. My main issue is the play ground.. It's unsafe to say the least.. Come on state of Hawaii, use those tourist tax dollars and make a nicer playground for the keiki. Lots of turtles, but don't snorkle if the water isn't clean, waste of time and dangerous. read more

Went on an adventure and decided to see this beach after some research. I hate giving any beach in my state a low review but I'm with another Yelper...it has the makings of a cool beach with the facilities and intimacy but the actual beach itself, it didn't feel good that day. It was my first time there too, and you know what they say about first impressions. I think it had to do with wave conditions (month of August 2015) and all the recent hurricane activity but the beach itself was tiny, maybe only just 10-20 feet of beach that day AND there were huge drainage pipes exposed in the water, right there by the main entrance (in front of the bathrooms). To me drainage pipes in the water is a huge turn off, ESPECIALLY when it's inline with the bathrooms! Groddy! At any rate, yeah, can see how this would be a convenient and personal beach if you lived in this neighborhood and could see it at different times of the month in all its states of being, but I wouldn't trek out here from town anytime soon again. Maybe when it's not an "El Nino" weather year =) read more

Lots of turtles. Every time I've gone (with working snorkel), it's been choppy and overcast so the water isn't clear. Visibility isn't as far and the Jaws theme starts playing in my head and I wig myself out. It's a really nice, quiet beach on the north shore. I've seen ppl paddle boarding, sunbathing, snorkeling, BBQing. There is a nice playground, public restrooms, and plenty of street parking. read more

Great beach to bring your kids to. There's a playground and bathrooms. Never very crowded. The sunsets are beautiful and the waves are not strong, so it's great for snorkeling. Bring a grill out, plant yourself on the beach, enjoy some BBQ and sun. read more

I want to love this park, there is so much potential. Some nice shaded areas, right next to the ocean, space for courts and playground equipment. The small big toy needs a major overhaul, its old, has missing pieces, plywood in place of parts, just really needs to be replaced. There are two swings, they work okay. There is a basketball court that could use some love as well. I wonder if the neighborhood has just gotten older and therefore not as many families interested in revitalizing the park. Dangerous surf- seen 2 bodies brought in. Sometimes sharky because it is a known shark breeding ground. The locals will stink eye you till you take your Haole akole off this beach. Razor sharp coral. Gross bathrooms. read more

The place to see turtles! This beach is not like anything you'll see in Waikiki. It's a more local beach with an almost family atmosphere. There's basketball goals and jungle gym toys for the kids right in front of the beach. There is no parking so you have to park on the street so be mindful of your parallel parking skills. There are tones of families here all the time it's a great place for kids. My toddler loves it. The waves weren't huge and easy to swim in. There is a lot of rocks not too far from the beach that is great for snorkeling. We saw lots of turtles last time we went. Definitely suggest driving out here. You won't be sorry. read more
