I'm not even sure if there's parking specifically for this beach because it's so secretive. At least it is in my mind. The first time we were here, we had a whole section of the beach to ourselves. Mind you, this is not the most well-kept beach. Lots of sharp sticks and rocks on the grainy sand but it's still great for some quiet sunbathing or reading. My friend did some snorkeling which was somewhat successful. There's some cool rock formation that local kids constructed. Just a modest, local, calm place to catch some sun. Oh and on the first day, we even saw some monk seals that came up to shore!

Went to Bellows on 23 March for the first time in a long time. It's odd to see people give…read morenegative reviews about a beach based on jellyfish being in the water. It's the ocean. The jellyfish don't know that Bellows is a semi private beach that requires military ID access to get onto. They are just there like they are there at Kailua, Kalama, Lanikai, and Waimanalo beaches. Going on a Sunday, the beach was not very crowded. We got there around 1100 and there was still parking available in the main parking lot. Not sure why another reviewer complained about no public shower as there is one right at the point where the parking lot ends and the beach begins, right next to the public restroom building. We brought our two dogs and kept them leashed the entire time. I brought our own dog water bowl but recognized it was too small and our dogs kept knocking them over so I walked to the shoppette and was able to purchase a much larger silicone dog dish for their water. Afterwards, we stopped at the reservation building where we sat on the covered deck and had some chicken and french fries as well as some cold drinks. These are all amenities you won't find at Kailua, Lanikai, or Kalama Beach Parks. Nothing but pros and no cons. The best part is, it is o ly about 20 minutes from where we live in Kaneohe. Will go again.

It's one of the cleanest, quietest beach near kapolei. That is not common to come by! Prior entering to the beach, you do have to drive to Kapalina Beach Homes (beach side apartment rentals) and go through security. Once you let security know you're heading to the beach, they'll grab a pic of your insurance car and license plate. I have had no issues entering this cute village. The beach is so spacious, you'll for sure find an area where you could be far from others. There were chairs and umbrellas that are set up for anyone's use. If you're feeling snacky, the D'lish at the beach is a great bar/grill that is reasonably priced. I've seen family have big patty's in the pavilion. Also have seen people use the multiple grills around the beach entrance. My favorite perk of the beach is that it's dog friendly! What a gem of a place to discover.

Not just the stunning calm of the ocean that surrounds Chinaman's Hat though this rocky surface of the beach keeps many from swimming in the area I have vivid memories of picking various seaweed here way back in the day where we spend hours just searching is just so relaxing and therapeutic along with the sense of accomplishment taking home the prize. Whether you stumble upon this park with your drive around the island or a planned photo op of an event both mountain and ocean views are just so amazingly peaceful and not sure if you're aware but on a great low tide days you're able to walk up to the island is a bucket list but yet frightening of just the thought of it lol it can get breezy and though there are great picnic areas along with bathroom and lots of free parking so happy to have revisited a place that carries lots of happy memories. Well, to end this dumpster fire of year that is (was) 2020, I figured I'd write an update of a…read moreplace that always brings me happy thoughts. And it's not just reminiscing of good ol' days but very recent memories and what I'm sure will be good visits to this place in the future. I've been coming here since I was a kid, fishing, diving, surfing and in the last 15 years or so, photographing its beauty. The area is just so diverse for activity. Just across the way is Makai Pier (currently closed) and the waters between Kaupo park and the pier has some nice areas to fish and dive and you can also get some waves too, I'm actually not exactly sure if this spot has an official name but I've always known it as either baby Makapu'u or cockroach bay. The other surf spot that's to the right of the point is called Suicides. Named that because the waves break in front of the sharp, rocky coastline. As for the photography here, not much more to say than it's a beautiful coastline and pretty much epitomizes the beauty of Hawaii, the coastline with both sandy and rocky shores, the clear pacific waters with waves crashing onto shore, and the sheer uprising mountain face of the Ko'olau mountain range...amazing. This has long been and is still my favorite place to shoot sunrise shots on the island. Cheers everyone to a better 2021!

Amy M. and I had never seen the movie. I think now, we will - since we visited the beach where part of the movie was filmed. We parked up at the top where the Halona Blow Hole parking lot is. You can see Sandy Beach from this parking lot/Lookout, as well as the as The Blow Hole and Eternity Beach. The view is awesome! To get to Eternity Beach, you'd have to be careful and walk down a rocky incline. Amy and I were just happy to be together and enjoy the scenery and cool breeze! The beach itself looks safe. There were many people hanging out and a few were swimming in the clear, clean water! I would return again to show Hawaii's natural beauty to another friend or visitor to Oahu. It's an excellent vacation destination!

It was a beautiful day at the beach, where there is a clear view of Mokolii Island. Unfortunately, today the waters were murky and brown.... I wonder if that means an incoming storm? Not the best looking park but the scenery of ocean and mountains on a clear day is awesome!!! Just enjoy the outdoors especially now with all the lockdowns.
