We went in July the last week of peach season. I googled this place before going and everyone says to bring cash. There are also signs that it is cash only. Be prepared to bring at least $100 if you're with family The workers were helpful. They provided buckets with paper bags, clean portable restrooms, and ladders. Best kept cherry picking secret is here in Brentwood - this is the only Bay Area upick I've seen with the Royal Ann (Napoleon) cherry, originally a European variety with hundreds of years of history. Royal Anne looks like Rainer but with *much* better flavor in my view. There's more tartness and deeper flavor, and not as crazy sweet as Rainier. Also Royal Anne is a little smaller/cuter so you can eat more of them. You'll probably *never* see a Royal Anne in the store and I havent seen them before at farmers markets either although that would be a better bet. These cherries are too delicate and can bruise easily in a mass-picking kind of process. But picking these individually and protecting them is relatively easy (see my long review for G&S Farms for cherry picking tips). The Royal Annes are in the far corner of the Pomeroy Farm main location and a nice walk, and there's lots of trees. The cherries at the top of the tree are redder and seem to taste better, and there's ladders provided. Royal Anne was the original variety used for Maraschino cherries too. One other great thing about Pomeroy Farm is there's so many varieties of fruit to pick like peaches, nectarines, and apricots...a nice plus compared to other cherry-only farms read more

This is for 1600 Eureka Ave location, no RSVP needed, $3/lb cash only, has cherries (include Rainier), apricots, yellow peaches and donut peaches, provides bucket, bag, step ladder....there. As for the juicy details..... Its our annual trip to Brentwood, the week after the Memorial weekend Pomeroy was one of the few that still offered Rainiers for picking, the others being the smaller Newberry and Vornhagen. Sat 9:30 am plenty of parking on dirt lot, crowd was still thin, we were skeptical there would be anything left after the Memorial weekend mob stormed Brentwood. Check-in was quick and painless, the folks at Hawaiian Airlines should pay heed. We walked through the main part of the orchard then crossed another dirt road to reach the cherries all the way in the back. The "white" cherries were so ripened that they were practically red, it took us a few min to confirm they were indeed the highly coveted Rainiers. Most if not all of the trees have been partially ravaged. There were ladders here and there, prob tall enough for Arthur Wellesley's Forlong hope to storm the walls of Badajoz. We were fortunate to find 1 abandoned and strategically located next to a few viable trees. For the next hour we managed to pick 10 lb of lovely Rainiers. They were crispy, glossy, juicy and absolutely delish....oops guess I forgot to mention we sampled a few along the way:) The apricots did not looked as ripened so we pass, we didn't look at any yellow peaches or donut peaches trees, but were told they prob can wait another week or 2. read more

Came here for some U-Pick Apricots (its the only fruit they currently have) at 8 am sharp. There's a minimum of 5 pounds per group and it is $2.50/pound (cheaper than Costco). We picked a total of 11 pounds and every apricot was delicious - even the hard ones. Some tips when you come: - Come early, it starts getting "more" crowded after 9 am. You get first pick of all the newly-ripe fruits and can take pictures in peace. - Plenty of parking, so don't worry! - Not a lot of bugs and it gets HOT so wear shorts and short sleeve. Will definitely come back for more u-pick. Should have gone earlier this season because a lot of fruits like cherries and some peaches are already all gone. read more

City girl going into the countryside trying to pick some of her own fruits to eat... what an experience! Absolutely loved it! Pomeroy had different varieties of peaches, apricots, and cherries to choose from. Fresh fruits that I chose off the branches made it more enjoyable to eat! My kids loved picking fruits too, but they got tired after 30 minutes. I would definitely go back! Tips: 1) Get there early and when the farm says the "U-pick" season is open. We got there the second day and many trees were already picked pretty clean. We got there at 9 am with 4 cars in the parking lot. When we left at 10:30, there were 10 more. 2) Taste the fruit. If it's to your liking, that's the tree to pick from. I like my fruits sweet and thought to get Rainier cherries and UFO peaches, but they ended up not as sweet as the other fruits. 3) Don't forget cash! No credit cards taken. 4) Wear a hat, shoes that can get dirty because you step on a lot of dirt and fruits dropped on the floor, and bring a wagon or cart if you're picking up a lot. They give you a bucket and paper bag to hold your fruit. You can take the paper bag home. We only got 2 bags of fruit so no wagon needed. Service- very nice people! Review #096 - 2020 We've been doing a lot of fruit picking since this whole coronavirus thing started; but I've got to admit that I'm grateful for all these orchards that continue to allow us to come back year after after. In all honesty, I was truly excited about coming to Pomeroy because they have many different types of fruits to choose from. I was even more excited when I heard they have nectarines and white peaches because they're both my favorite stone fruits. Sadly, the nectarines weren't ready so I only picked a few and they were super sour even after a few days of sitting on my kitchen counter. I didn't get any of the UFO white peaches because they didn't look very good, but I did get a few of the red top yellow peaches and they were pretty sweet. However, I'm not a huge fan of apricots so I only picked four to give to my nieces & I didn't try any. They had sweetheart cherries and white rainier cherries, but there weren't much left to pick of the rainiers. Although, the few that I did pick were very sweet, but not very crunchy. The sweetheart ones were ok, but I already found a favorite cherry so I will keep going back to that one. Overall, we picked a total of 7 lbs of mixed stone fruits and 4 lbs of cherries. For the price I paid, I wasn't very satisfied with the quality, but I did enjoy the experience. We probably won't be back, especially since parking is pretty inconvenient. read more

Came on opening day for peach picking, June 1st! $2.99/lb with a 5lb minimum. Pretty easy to reach 5lbs. If your goal isn't to over buy, don't get pick happy as I did. We got here around 10:30am on Sunday June 24. There's a small area where you can park your car or you can park next to the side of the road. When you go in, you sign a waiver and then grab a bucket to pick your choice of fruit. This farm at this time had some different peaches: yellow peaches, white peaches, the flat peaches, as well as a bit of apricots. Prices were $2.50/lb for the various peaches with already picked walnuts sold for $8/lb, and they said they would open the apricot areas next week, although there were a few trees with apricots, although they weren't that ripe yet... They did have a sign that said 5lb minimum, but if you come with more than one person, I'm sure you'll get more than that. In terms of selections, they offer many different types of peach varieties. However, many of the trees don't have much selection of good, big, ready to pick peaches. I don't know if it's because we chose a bad time to go so they didn't have much, or if it's because some other people already picked it over and these were the leftovers... They did have ladders to help pick fruit high up in the trees, but they are pretty heavy, so you'll probably need 2 people to help move them or be pretty strong. I picked about 3 lb of peaches, and my friend was able to get 5lb or so, but it took a lot of work to find that much. It's a family operating farm which just opens in the weekend. They are greeting you with friendly smile. When you enter the orchard, the stuff will introduce what they have in this season, and the tasting of the fruits. White peaches taste very juicy and sweet. They have some flat peaches which smell great, and I think it's sweeter than the white peach. Nectarines, well balance between sweetness and acidity. They also have some cherries here, but we didn't pick some this time. There are plenty of walnut trees,but the area didn't open. Price: $2.5/lb. of all kinds of fruit here $8/lb. of walnut Most of the trees are not very high, even my baby girl can easily pick some peaches by herself. We picked sugar sweet fruit today - apricots, peaches and cherries. The family that owns this farm is very friendly. The fruit is only $2.50/lb with a 5 lbs minimum which can be a mix and match. We ended up picking a little over 20 lbs of fruit because it was bursting with juice and flavor and we couldn't control ourselves. We will now be eating a lot of fruit over the next few days! We came on July 4th weekend of 2019. This place is amazing. The apricots were fully ripen at this time point and stated to fall on the ground. These are THE best I've ever tasted, sweet and ripen. Owner told us it's the end of the cherry season already(May-July). White cherries were gone and there were only some dark red cherries. Many cherries were starting to dry out. But still I did manage to find enough good ones. They are very sweet. I guess for fruit picking most important thing is timing, so you need to know what is the best time to pick each type of fruit. So either research a little or call to ask to make sure you get what you want. We went out to the Pameroy Farms in Brentwood yesterday afternoon. It is out of the way and off the road. It is a OK sized orchard with numerous yellow peach and apricot trees. It was not crowded at all on the weekday and I am sure it is very crowded on the weekend. The weather was not to hot. You have to sign a waiver before going in in case you use the ladder and fall off. Ladders are throughout the orchard. There are buckets you pickup at the entrance. The peach trees are still full of fruit, most are ripe for picking but the apricots not so much, could use a little more time for ripening. The price is $2.00 per pound of fruit which is still much better than any grocery store by a long stretch. I do enjoy picking my own fruit and don't mind the drive. read more

I went on 6/26 for peach picking but only apricot was available that day. The man there was very sweet and nice. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and I highly recommend! The apricots were super sweet and big when I tasted them at home! I got about 10 lbs ($2.50/lb) but I regret not getting more now :(( call in and check first if they're open and which fruit is available! Picked a bucket of big and sweet rainer cherries! So delicious! 5 lb minimum for purchase which is easy to achieve. The rainer cherry trees are relatively taller than Lapin cherry trees. Kids are not allowed to use the ladder for safety concerns. So picking the rainer cherries is more suitable for adults. read more

Just left this farm, didn't pick any cherries, all cherries have left are super sour, very tart and small. I didn't give one star I think it's not the farm's fault, but they should have warn people that there is nothing to pick these weekends. People were coming out with empty buckets. read more

I love this place because it's relatively small (compared to the Disney-like Mike's next door, swarming with 2,000 kids), and they're very friendly. You can get peaches, apricots, nectarines, and walnuts (in a bag). The key is to get there early, at the start of the season, and bring CASH! read more

With the unpredictable season, check their website which they keep up to date with what is available. First you're greeted by friendly smiles and good advice (note, the brown dots on the apricots are not big bites as thought this city girl, but are scars from a freak hail storm, the apricots are just as delicious). We wondered through and the apricot trees this week were plentiful and lush, creating cooling and peaceful shade to wander through.
