What a great place. Most sites are wooded and scrubbed with large spaces between camp sites giving privacy. Very clean bathrooms, and sites with all the hookups. The internet connection is poor. I loved this place. read more

Best Campground in Fort Bragg Bar None! Clean and quite. The campground is very well maintained and the bathrooms and shower areas were immaculate! Full hook ups and many sites are private & secluded with beautiful trees, plants and sun. Most sites are quite large so you are not packed in like sardines as with many of the other private parks. We've stayed in many other campgrounds in the area and this was by far the VERY best we have found. But... they don't take credit cards and you have to call to make a reservation, otherwise, we would have given it a 5 star. All said, this is our new go to RV park and we will be back! read more

It was a nice place but the owner was SO RUDE. I was driving in on the second day and he followed me to my campsite to yell at me for not going 5mph. I was going 7 or 8 mph... I have no problem if you are super strict on going 5mpg, but don't follow your guests to their campsite and freak out yelling at them and threatening to kick them out. read more

This campground is nice, but even in October it was pretty crowded. We had some sunshine and some rain while we were there for 4 days. It's better if you can reserve in the summer when it's warmer and all the flowers are in bloom. read more

Let's get the obvious out of the way first. For all the endless beauty on the NorCal coast, Ft. Bragg sticks out like a sore thumb, and the main drag that Pomo RV Park & Campground is on is no different. Run-down businesses, depressing trailer parks, and the non-stop abalone dive shops. However, if you were to pass up on Pomo RV Park & Campground due to its immediate surroundings, you'd be making a mistake. The campground itself is in fact a gorgeous, spacious, and well-maintained pine forest retreat. No kidding. A wide assortment of sites for rigs of all lengths, and a good choice of tent camping, Clean facilities, friendly staff, and reasonable rates. And although the town of Ft. Bragg itself won't feature high on the day trip itineraries, the treks north up the coast, south towards Mendocino, and east into the Anderson Valley are all stunning, and will leave you wishing for more. So, in short. Pomo is an unexpected gem, perfectly located to take advantage of the rugged and stunning Mendocino Coast. read more

We have camped here a couple times. It has always been clean and quiet with wel maintained bathrooms and coin-op showers. My issue is that if they are going to advertise cable and internet, then they should provide it. The internet is bad at its best, if you are camped close to the office. The cable tv hasn't worked in a couple years. The lady in the office told me when cable switched from analog to digital, the cable company told them they would have to buy digital tuner boxes for each site. This is not true because all tv's sold in the last several years already have digital tuners in them. Either remove "cable" and "internet" from your brochures and website or offer a partial refund. Those are both determining factors for a lot of people when chosing a campground for long stays. read more

After camping here for more than 10 years, I won't be going back. This bums me out because: 1) They have great sites for both RVs and tents; 2) The shower/bathroom facilities are clean and top-notch; 3) The location is great; 4) They're great at helping get sites together for a group. On the downside: 1) There are a lot of fees 2) It's pretty strict 3) The staff can be snippy and/or rude I've dealt with number three on the downside list a couple times, but not so much that I didn't want to return. However, this last experience was not like the other times... We booked two sites at Pomo to celebrate mine and my husband's birthdays, and after finding out about our travel plans, two of our friends each booked a site to join us. Unfortunately, I found out 11 days before our trip that my husband couldn't go; he couldn't get work off. I was disappointed, and called the following day to cancel - 10 days before we were supposed to arrive, and coincidentally on the last day of their cancellation refund policy. The woman I spoke with seemed to take it very personal that I had to cancel, taking a short and rude tone, even noting not so nicely that I was cancelling only 10 days in advance, as if I was doing it on purpose. I realize that four site cancellations in a day is rough, (the two I was cancelling got lumped in with my friend's cancellations, and I bore the brunt of scorn), I just didn't expect to be talked down to or made to feel like I was doing this on purpose to hurt their business. So on top of the birthday trip cancellation disappointment, I also got scolded by Pomo for having to make the cancellation. If you are looking for clean and well-kept sites with quiet/retired campers - it's a go! Just be prepared for some potential lack-luster staff interactions and/or, apparently, a good shaming. POMO Pomo RV park in Fort Bragg, CA is a beautiful, private RV park with most sites surrounded by foliage. We have enjoyed staying there in the past, but will NOT do so again . The problem is the NEGATIVE, bitchy, argumentative & angry woman who runs the front desk. She seemed incapable of explaining their policies intelligibly with us and was more interested in exerting belligerent power & control. She is never pleasant or cheerful to deal deal with. We had hoped that she had mellowed out (or moved on) since COVID & we last stayed there. But we were sadly disappointed. We wanted to reserve a spot for the whole month of July 2022 & pay for it in cash today, yes a year in advance!!! She said that we could NOT pick a site that we wanted & they would choose it for us, IF we were granted reservations at all, since we are only a 25.5' Winnebago View & not one of the elite preferred 40' monsters !!! We are senior citizens , highly educated & with good moral character, a new motorhome, & financially comfortable. ENOUGH . Will spend our money in a more positive & friendly place. read more

*** UPDATE ***. They stepped up and did the right thing...... Pomo sent all of us a refund of our deposit minus a cancellation fee in early April. No explanation....just a computer generated check. I feel in this case it was the fair thing for them to do. The weather conditions were unsafe for travel, there were multiple road closures which made it impossible to get there and Pomo had no electricity for their campers due to the storm. I'm glad they reconsidered and refunded our deposit. I think it is just a good business practice to retain repeat customers and it was the right thing to do in this particular case. read more

I haven't stayed here yet, but I thought I'd make potential guests aware of something. I made a reservation, and had to send Pomo a check to hold a site. They couldn't accept a credit card - this seems rather behind the times. And then I had to cancel the reservation. They had to send me a check and charged me a $10 cancellation fee. Again, not keeping with the times. And the $10 cancellation charge was not appreciated, especially because the cancellation was not a last minute cancellation, and it was during the off-season. read more

We were told about this place by a friend and it exceeded our expectation. This place is top notch. Huge wide open spaces for trailer camping with all the bells and whistles. Flat pads and privacy. One of my favorite campsites! The spaces are great! You're not packed in and I enjoy the fire pits at each site! They have a nice laundry and shower facility to use! You will need quarters for the shower. That's the first camp site we have used that you had to pay for your shower. They're dog friendly! I enjoy that! Also everyone picks up after their dogs! They sell wood and ice at the front office. You can hear the waves at night! Definitely will be comIng back! read more

This was my first time here, but my husband has stayed here many times. I loved it! Friendly staff, clean park and facilities. The spots were level and had gravel. Some spots are more private than others. WiFi signal was weak at times but we were on vacation and didn't care. Can't wait to come back. read more

This campground is a mixed bag. On the plus side, they have larger and more private camp sites than are usually found in most private RV parks. It is a quiet campground. On the minus side, this is not a child friendly place. Many of the camp roads say "No Bikes, Skateboards, etc". Most of the campers, during our visit in mid-August, were seniors. The biggest minus, and the reason for this review. is their total lack of customer service. We rented space #28, a full hookup space, six months in advance. They suggested that space to us - we did not request it. When we backed our trailer in to #28, the hookups were so far in the back corner of the space that we stayed hitched up until we could see if our sewer hose would reach. Well, it just reached, but the sewer inlet in this space could not accommodate our standard CAMCO universal fitting. In 3 years of camping we had never encountered this. We checked 3 nearby spaces, and all of them had the correct and standard fitting. So I walked to the office to ask if they had an adapter. The woman in the office said she "could not believe" that we had this problem, and drove over to our space. She kept telling us that our hose and fitting were the problem. She said "in 14 years here, you are the first people to have this problem". When we showed her the spaces with the correct connection, she said "Oh - those were updated a few years ago". She refused to move us to anything but the one least desirable space in the park. She kept saying "we are completely full". She also said they had to save deeper spaces in case someone came in with a larger rig. We asked for space #10, and they would not give it to us because they claimed it was rented. But while we stood in the office, they gave space 10 to someone who had just come in without a reservation. They said we could buy an adapter (they would not loan us one). But they did not have any adapter in their store that would make the sewer hose work. When asked what they planned to do for us, her only solution was to say "You can leave and I'll refund your money". Eventually I said "I am not leaving, I am taking space 9", and they did not disagree. They were never more than 1/2 full during the 3 nights we spent there - they had lied when they said they were full. We determined that only a few spaces (including 28 and 81) have this problem with the sewer connection. So - campers beware. If you reserve a space here, make sure you ask for one with the updated sewer connections. And either bring extra long hoses (water, sewer, elect) or ask for a space with hookups in the center. If you have children, ask for a space where bike riding is allowed. And if you have any problems, do not expect any customer service. read more

A nice quiet campground with good, level, private spaces, newly remodeled bathrooms and showers.... Just be careful they do your checkin right! We were reserved for 3 nights, but when we checked in, telling them the correct leaving date, they wrote the arrival date on the windshield hanger tag that says what your last day is, and only charged us for two nights... Imagine our surprise when someone from the office arrived at our site a little after noon, just catching us before we went out for the day and told us to get out! No discussion, no attempt to find a solution, (another site?), but just "you're not supposed to be here, other people are coming for your site". Yea we packed up as quick as we could and won't be back. She could have at least been nice about it and acknowledged THEIR mistake! We had thought we had found a nice place to stay on our frequent trips to that area, but with that sort of attitude from the staff....nah. read more

We stayed here with friends & they were accommodating in putting us close together. We liked the trees & shrubs that separate the sites. On the downside I have issues with businesses such as Pomo that only accept cash or checks. They seem to have extra fees for everything. If you need 50-amp (which by the way they keep a lock on) it's extra. Friends next to us still paid for the 50-amp even though the 30 didn't work. Any guests coming in to visit not only have to stop at the office (which is fine) but had to pay $5 a day. The lady in the office when we checked in was quite surly & seemed very flustered with 3 people trying to check in at the same time. Didn't use their other facilities. read more

This is a great little campground, The facilities are well-maintained, clean and the staff treats you like family. The shower facilities are designed with abalone divers in mind, so there is plenty of room for flushing out your dive gear. The pay showers themselves are OMG HOTTTTT! and give you plenty of time (they are coin-operated. There are fish cleaning stations outside, so you can clean the goodies you bring back from the sea - without a huge mess. There's a nice sunroom/game room as well. Plenty of wildlife for the watching - California quail, 'coons, possum, and I've seen deer in the camp a few times. read more

We stayed there last minute on New Years Day. When I called the women on the phone was very accommodating and found two sites open. When I got there they asked us to check which site we liked best. Very big sites, lots of privacy and trees unlike most RV parks. The grounds were very clean and well kept. Even the garbage areas were spotless with pretty full bins. Nice and quite campground with both full hookups as well as water/electric sites. There is a dump station on the way out of the campground which was being worked on when we were there, however we were able to dump at a different campsite. The laundry facilities are extremely small- 4 washers and 4 dryer in a very tight space. Plan on folding your laundry at your site. There are lots of rule as you will seen as you pull up to the office to check in. The rules are reasonable and nothing out of the ordinary. Staff was friendly and nice. Cash or check only! read more

We stayed here last year for the 4th of July on a friend's recommendation. We liked it so much that we have booked a couple of sites again for the fourth. We are tent campers and I usually stay far, far away from RV parks. Pomo is the exception. They have a few very large tent camping sites that are lovely. The camp hosts are so nice and friendly. Yes, there are extra fees and they can add up. That being said, camping in Pomo is like camping in a botanical garden. It is so pretty. They also have amenities like a dish washing station, coin showers and very clean bathrooms. Well worth the price - especially if you are looking for a less rustic camping experience. read more

We have been coming here for years and love it. The sites are great, showers /bathroom are very clean! People complain about paying quarters for showers in the other reviews but that's why they are able to keep them nice.....just makes sense. Not a place to come and think you can party late because quiet time is respected here. The reason for only 4 stars is because their wi-fi basically never works. I know, I know...I'm on vacation but with my job, being accessible is quite necessary and takes stress off me so I can relax. read more

We stayed here after checking out the Van Damme State Park and finding that the sites were too close together for our tastes. We always search out more secluded sites. The park employee told us that Caspar's Beach sucked (we found later because it's a parking lot) but that we should check out Pomo Campground. We drove back up the 1 and were initially a little hesitant. There is a board of rules including gates that are locked after 11pm. The woman we checked in with was lovely and gave us a few options to choose from. We drove around and found that a lot of the spaces along the back offer a lot of privacy. Most sites have shrubbery planted on each side to provide some separation. There was a fence behind us, but it was out of site. We chose site 49 w power and water . Not really woodsy or adventurous. I think we were the youngest people here (in our mid 30's). But very clean and well maintained. Now granted, we ended up without any neighbors seeing as how it's the weekend after Labor Day so that was great, but we had a nice secluded spot. We did end up with a street light in front of us which was annoying but no big deal. One word of warning. Clean your site well! We awoke after just a few minutes to our camp being raided by two little (and brave) raccoons. The bathrooms are super clean with hot coin operated showers. A big fish cleaning station (that we did not use) and a lot of blackberries for picking. On our rating scale of.... 5. Plan on it 4. Worth an hour drive 3. Back up 2. Only if you have to 1. This is our go to RV park whenever were visiting the north coast. It's true that the staff can be a bit abrasive at first, but once they get to know you, they are rather friendly. Most sites are pretty large for a private campground and thick large hedges provide privacy between the sites. The sites are always clean as the ground crew works tirelessly to ensure your site is spotless upon your arrival. Be aware that this park does not accept credit or debit cards and payment must be made by check or cash. You have to call to reserve a spot and send them a personal check to reserve your site. No internet in this day and age????? That said, if you're looking for a private and relaxing place to stay on your next visit to the north coast, this is your place. read more

first of all, i have to politely disagree with the reviewer that knocks Ft. Bragg's natural beauty. must've just driven through...in the dark, because a day at MacKerricher State Park is a beautiful day. but i digress. so we're RVing in our borrowed Class C 24' motorhome, and making our way down the Mendocino coast. using the AAA Woodall's guide, i find Pomo Campground, with stellar ratings and the self-proclaimed "most beautiful park on the Mendocino Coast!" they have space, so i book them. yes, it's a nice campground. yes, the sites are sorta kinda private, with trees and shrubs between each one. yes, it's clean. and that's worth the 2 stars. however...beyond rude customer service. our dinky little motorhome for one night clearly didn't even warrant eye contact, much less a greeting from either woman at the office. when i gave my name, one silently searched for the reservation while the other kept asking her questions about some issue with a wrong deposit. the whole time i was filling out the registration, they argued about other things, pausing only to tell me why they were tacking on some extra fees and my total. at one point, getting confused, one lady crabbily said to the other "let me finish this," pointing at me. when i paid -- in cash, because no credit cards here -- she glanced up and said "ok, you're done, you can go." also...the fees. oh, the fees. there is extra for 50 amp, for visitors, for kids, for pets, for late this and early that. $35 for wood. um, you can get that for $7 a bundle at MacKerricher. wifi is barely existent, no cell signal. this was far and away most we paid for a 30amp site on the whole trip...and the showers are coin-operated!?! also, did i mention it's cash or check only? and you bet there will be a fee for reservation payments that don't fit their timetable. i get it, if you have some gigantic moho and a bigger wad of literal cash, and you're settling in for a few days, maybe you want the big tree-lined site. if you want value for money, no fees, credit cards accepted, a simple hookup and super-friendly staff, go across the street to Woodside. read more

We spent another week at our favorite campground in the North Coast area. It's not the newest but it has very private campsites with all the hookups. The restrooms are always very clean. The only down side is the WIFI is worthless if or when you can connect to it. We still love it there and will always go back. read more

We rented two trailer sites and one tent site. The deposit alone was outrageous. When checking in we were asked specifically who was sleeping where with no explanation. Come to find out it's more expensive to add a person to a tent site than a trailer site. Of course this is not disclosed to you up front. The ladies in the office are rude and lack any sort of customer service. The only plus to this park/campground is the campsite and facilities are nice. This place was great! Super clean and lots of space. The people were nice, friendly and just want to talk. The Fish cleaning area was amazing! We were in site 82 which was a little to close to other campers. There were no bushes to block the 2 spots behind us. That's would be the only bad thing I would say about our stay.
