We have patronized Pomona Feed for years. It's reasonably convenient to our Diamond Bar residence and they've a great selection of premium dog and cat foods including Victor, Merrick and Acana. The staff is highly knowledgeable and helpful, always gracious about ferrying my 30lb cartons of food to my trunk. Got there at 4:57, 3 minutes before closing, and they were already closed and would not provide me with service, after being told they would stay open if I got there right at 5. So I decided to start raising chickens! A friend told me she got her 8 babies here, so I went to check it out. It's kinda far for me, but I'm glad I got to see their outfit. They have a lot of stuff for farm animals, including feed and medicine for dogs and cats. All the little critters. I was given a vaccine for three of my kittens and four days later they are non stop vomiting and when I reviewed they sheet they gave me to track what shot was what none of them matched what was on the pamphlet. Ok, so I was born & raised in Pomona and always remembered this place, however I never had the need to buy anything here. Months ago I drove by and noticed they sell firewood, I usually buy my firewood at Lowes, but prices are just ridiculous now. I don't live in Pomona anymore but I do live in a neighboring city, I knew I'd be in the area so I stopped by, I walked in and the employees didn't seem all that friendly, I just kinda had a weird vibe there, not one person greeted us. Anyways, I just wanted to purchase firewood that day. So they have the firewood divided up already, you just go inside pay $20.00 plus tax, I used my credit card, then back your car up to where the employee is. He packs the wood for you. The amount of firewood you get for $20.00 I think is a great deal. I'd definitely come back to purchase more wood, if it's the same price. read more

If you're looking for quality hay, look before you buy. I called to find out the quality of the load. I was told, Good cutting, good medium stem, good leaf, 115 lbs $16.95. Well, that is not what I was sold. I received short shaggy stem, very dusty, leafy, and appropriately 100 lbs. Once it was realized that it wasn't accurately described, we asked about just taking 1 bale and was told all sales were final. The gentleman loading had a hard time keeping his hooks in it long enough to load it into the bed of the truck, as I had a hard time keeping hooks in it long enough to unload it. It's unfortunate. We adopted a puppy a few months ago and wanted to check this place out for food. We wanted some recommendations and guidance. We had been feeding him one particular brand. We wanted to see if we could get something comparable for a better price or maybe better quality for the same price. The person working there recommended one to us and told us, "if your dog doesn't like it, you can bring it back." I thought that was so cool! Well, it gave our dog the runs and horrible gas. We brought it back. The person working that day just looked at us and said, "You cut it." After some exchange he finally clarified that since we cut the bag open they couldn't resell it and therefore they wouldn't take it back. No one explained this to us prior. He wouldn't say anything more. What a waste of $50. Never coming here again. So disappointing! read more

Been buying Rabbit feed at this place for over 10 years. Recently I bought two bags of AceHi rabbit pellets and was charged $25 a bag. I usually pay $19 a bag. When I asked the guy why he was charging me $25 a bag he said the price had recently gone up. Today I'm back to buy more Rabbit feed and it is in fact $19.29 a bag. Must have been the new guy that overcharged me. I inquired if there's a way they can do a price adjustment for my previous purchase and they said no. My experience was not good. I wanted to buy and have delivered a bail of straw. I called and discussed it with a salesperson. No problem they said. Today I went to pay and arrange delivery. AFTER my card was charged, the salesperson finds out there is a 5 bail minimum for delivery. I reminded him I had called previously and made this trip because it had been agreed. Nothing I can do said the salesperson. So even though I had called to check whether this could be done, they refused to do it and I wasted an hour out of my life because I was given misinformation. My experience is that a company that can't get small things done right usually fails spectacularly on big things. I wouldn't recommend them read more

This place is FABULOUS! My dad recently decided he wants to raise chickens, so the fiance and I went on a wild goose chase *keke* around LA to find a place that sold live chickens (and trust me, it's not an easy thing to do in LA!). For Pomona Feed and Fuel we only initially had a phone number so we called and someone immediately answered and gave us the most thorough, easy to comprehend directions. When we arrived, the place was really clean. In addition to selling cute baby chicks, they also have bunnies, birds, and food & supplies for everything from dogs and cats to hay for horses and such in the back. Being first time chick owners, we had no idea what types of chickens existed (there are more than one?!?) or how to take care of them. The girl working there did a super great job walking us through every step of the way, from helping us choose the types of chickens that will lay the best eggs (and the most interesting! - one of ours has green and blue eggs) and have the best personalities. She helped us select food, reviewed how to care for them, and even gave us a very helpful handout on everything she reviewed in case we forgot. A perfect experience and definitely a place I'd return to and recommend in the future (and a family owned business too!). read more

So glad we found this place! After running out of a 1/2 cord of wood with all this wet cold weather, we were either going to have to drive to Redlands or Oak Valley for quality wood. Instead I researched local areas and found this place. Soooo glad we did. Customer service was top notch. The employee's were all so helpful and attentive, and we got a really decent price for another 1/2 cord of wood. We do have dogs, so I did pick up a few dog treats. Bonus. But all in all I would absolutely recommend this place for firewood, or pet supplies. From what I saw they have a variety of brands at a competitive price. read more

What a fantastic Place!! I have been coming here, and only here for years, now!! The reason I write this review today is for the amount of deduction the staff had to get me my product my last visit! I came in on 3/28, but was told it was cash only since their POS system was down. Unfortunately, I did not have any cash with me, and of coarse Webber had NO MORE FOOD. I assume the owner was the one trying to fix the issue, but instead of pushing me out the door since I did not have cash, he simply had an employee swipe my card on transfer paper and had me out the door! After reading these great reviews on Pomona Feed, I was really excited to check it out for myself. Unfortunately, I ended up pretty disappointed. The store itself is very small, but there is a big selection of food including Canidae and Orijen and the prices are pretty good. Plus they have a lot of bunnies, baby chicks, birds and dog houses. However, that's pretty much all they have. Treats and toys and everything else is very limited. A lot of their stuff was also really dusty, I'm not sure if it's because it has been sitting there forever or because the doors are open all day. Several of the reviewers mentioned great service, but no one asked to help us the entire time we were there! I'd rather drive a little further out of the way and go to the Anaheim Feed Store for my pet supplies. read more

Pomona Feed is awesome! They sell some of the best dog food out there and they are really good with my dog. I go back there every month to get a new bag of California Natural (lamb and rice) for my baby dog. The prices are great and the service is awesome. As soon as I walk in, they know exactly what I want and they go and grab it for me and put it in my trunk! love it!! Oh you know, just also ignore the dozens of caged baby chicks. Pomona feed is the ish. They sell Canidae and other premium dog foods at reasonable prices, and they also sell all sorts of other stuff like firewood and feed for your horses, etc. I don't have a horse, so I don't much about all that, but it sounds cool. The best part with regards to the Canidae is that Pomona Feed keeps track of the Canidae frequent buyer program for you by keeping a name card filled out in their filing cabinet. They save the UPCs, so that you don't have to worry about it. After 10 bags of dog food, you get a free one. Simple as that. The staff is helpful, they'll carry your 44-lb. bag of dog food to your car for you. They are kind of serious sometimes, but at the same time they are nice and every once in awhile will even give you a free bag of dog treats! read more
