I must say, Rick is an excellent instructor and true professional who actually cares if his students learn this sport the proper way. As someone who has taken Kiteboarding lessons in the past from other companies in and out of the U.S. I have to say Rick at Pompano Beach kiteboarding was the most thorough & patient teacher I have personally had. Example: just on the 1st day of lessons he had instructed me on how to self launch and land the kite by myself. I was amazed that out of all of the hours of lessons I had taken in the past. No one had ever bothered to teach me one of the most important basics of kiteboarding and doing it in a mannor which will ensure safety for all persons around me. Also, being able to show me the basic to intermediate kite flying techniques which were never tought to me as well. This all attributed to me being able to actually get out in the water after learning the correct way to fly the kite while body dragging. All of this gave me the ability to confidently get on the board and fly with confidence in which I was able to do. I am continuing to take lessons with Rick until I feel I am able to feel confident enough to be able to go out on my own without having an instructor and to have the ability to do so with confidence. I definitely recommend anyone wanting to be able to learn kiteboarding the correct way to contact Rick and take the time to learn what he has to teach you. this was an amazing experience for me and my girlfriend. i have gone through a lot of pain and medical problems in the past and thought i would never be able to surf or enjoy any workout activity any more with a healed shattered shoulder, metal plate n screws in my elbow and back pain.......... through great stretching and safe practice. Rick helped to show/guide me through Kitesurfing. that this is actually possible for me. it doesn't matter how tall, how short, how heavy or how lightweight you may be. this is a great hobby/ sport/ meditative practice that i will now continue and thrive with for the rest of my life. my gf weighs 99lbs and within 5 hours of training and lessons, she took off to the water as a natural!Thanks Rick. Hello everyone, I was on vacation and decided to learn kiteboarding. I'm so happy I've chosen Rick! I had 6 hours of learning with him and was amazed about the progress I managed to achieve. You start from simple things and progressively go to the more and more difficult ones. Everything that I learned I was able to repeat on the next lesson, all the loops and drags, after many repetitions it becomes very instinctive. All the kites were in the excellent condition, Rick has a wide choice for your level and weight. I would recommend Rick to everyone who wants to learn kiting from the beginner to advanced level. My girlfriend Annie had a fantastic lesson with Rick. She had been watching kiters and wanting to try it for a couple of years now. I investigated the options available for when we came down to visit my Dad. After speaking with a couple of other instructors I didn't get a warm feeling about them, especially for a first timer. One was outright rude to me. Then I found Rick and I felt totally comfortable. Kiteboarding I love it !!!! Thank You Pompano Beach Kiteboarding. We just finished up a 3 day kitesurf lesson with Rick from PBK. We started out on a trainer kite and worked our why up to a Zian 10m 4 line kite, On our 2nd day we were doing body dragging and even tried to take off on the board, by the time our 3rd lesson was done I was able to kite downwind and walk the kite back up the beach. My 12 year old son was given a training kite as a gift, and getting a lesson from Rick at Pompano Beach Kiteboarding was his highlight of our vacation in FL! Setting up an appointment was easy, and quite flexible with our scheduling needs. Rick was an excellent instructor; my son learned quite a lot in just one lesson! Rick is awesome, very patient and experienced, and he has many different kites depending on your level of experience. He also has access to a secluded part of the beach so you can learn without interfering with other boarders/pedestrians. He is the obvious choice in Fort Lauderdale/Pompano to learn how to kiteboard! I had recently completed a 9hr course in Cape Verde and wanted to consolidate my learning. In one lesson Rick was able to help get me on my longest run yet, of maybe 30 seconds on the board. First review I've done on here my experience is that great. I'm about done with my first 5 hours and will be starting the next 5 as soon as I can afford it. Rick is a great instructor. in just a few lessons, he has really helped me with my kite handling skills. Very professional and safety oriented throughout my lessons.
