They seemed nice enough but he would shake all over and try to run away when I tried to take him into the grooming section of the store. He normally is a very mild mannered dog who gives me no issues and never tries to run from me. After the last trip, I decided I couldn't do that to him anymore and in looking for another groomers, I decided to try Paws Awhile. I am so happy I did! I told the owner, Leanne about my issues with him at the other groomers and she was so gentle and talked with him and gave him extra attention. When I went to pick him up, besides being wonderfully groomed, he was very happy with his tail up and wagging and wiggling all over with happiness. I was thrilled! He is a long haired sheltie and needs to be groomed every 4-6 weeks to maintain his fur properly. I dreaded the trip to the groomers before and now he and I happily go to his appointment. Having him cleaned and groomed properly is very importantly obviously, but having him not be traumatized by the experience and be happy is more important to me. If you are also having this issue with your pet, I highly recommend trying Paws Awhile! We're so happy we found them!

I lost two cats to their discontinuity, and lack of prpoer follow-up here. Vets go on for a 4 day- long hour shift. They are tired, they do not remember your cat. You get less than personal service. It is another example of what is happening to healthcare in this country both for people and for animals. I am afraid to adopt another cat as I have so much trauma associated with visits to this place.

So I cracked open the phone book... lo and behold, I found Doggie Details, a 3 minute walk from my house! I called and left a message on Saturday. Gail (the owner) quickly called me back (despite not having weekend hours) with an appointment for that Monday and told me what paperwork to bring and what to expect. I had a dog growing up, but never had a rescue before. So, when I arrived to the appointment somewhat nervous, she immediately made me feel at ease and was so reassuring and described to me what she she does for each dog. Since Hercules is short-haired, the appointment was much shorter than expected and he was ready for pickup around 11/11:30am (drop off was 8:30am). I attribute my smooth transition to adoping Hercules to Gail! At the end of the appointment, she gave me so many helpful tips on training, feeding, care, and suggested reading Dr. Dodman books (which are great resources btw). She even suggested a veternarian for me. The price is very reasonable-$25- and quality superb. At the end of EVERY appointment I go home with a happy clean dog!

I toured All Dogs Gym because I was looking for a daycare where my dogs could spend the day…read moresocializing and playing with other dogs. The facility was clean, and the staff were friendly. However, I was very surprised when I asked what a typical full daycare day actually looks like. I was told the dogs play for about 1 1/2 hours in the morning, are then crated for approximately 3 hours, play another 1 1/2 hours in the afternoon, and are then crated for another 3 hours. If they're still there around 5:00 p.m., they're taken outside for a potty break before pickup. For me, that was shocking. I completely understand that dogs need rest periods, but I wasn't expecting that the majority of a full daycare day would be spent in a crate. My dogs are rarely crated at home, so this wasn't the right environment for them, especially considering the cost. I'm sharing this because I think it's an important question that many people may not think to ask. Before enrolling your dog, ask exactly what a full daycare day consists of and how much time your dog will actually be playing versus being crated. That information made my decision immediately, and I chose not to leave my dogs there.
