My son works there, so I will admit I am biased. That being said I think it's terrible what is going on with yelp here. Yelp has hidden four positive reviews because it deemed them unhelpful? Little known fact, you can pay yelp to remove or bury negative reviews.... This is repulsive as are some of these reviews. They have outdoor areas for excersize and socialization. They have indoor areas for quiet time and rest. They have full time daycare during the week and boarding on the weekends. They keep everything clean and are great with the dogs. When one of my dogs recently passed she collected a bunch of pictures from our dog spending time there and had an amazingly personal blanket created with pictures of him as well as sending a sympathy card and flowers. Whoever said she wasn't personal or good with dogs should be ashamed of themselves. Cyber bullying is for the weak. read more

Manilows is just great! I've been bringing my shy skittish dog there for 6 years now and she absolutely loves it there. She's afraid of, well, just about everything, and she's very sensitive. My dog loves people and has severe separation anxiety so we try not to crate him at home. Every time we've brought him to Manilows they had him kept in a crate in the "nap room" which is just a bunch of cages. I picked him up today and I could hear him crying in the back room, and when I picked him up he was wearing an electric shock collar! This is inhumane. I pay for day care for him to be cared for, not shoved in a crate with a shock collar like a prisoner. I'm so disappointed and upset. read more

Great place. I bring my 2 year old Bullmastiff twice a week and trust Barbara and her staff completely. I'm very surprised at some of the negative reviews about the room with the crates. I think it's a good idea to get the dogs out of the hot/cold weather and give them a little rest. I assure you Juno gets plenty of exercise as she can't even stay awake for the ride home. My dogs love Manilow's, Barbara and all of the staff here. Dogs go out in small compatible playgroups, constantly monitored. Then they rest in crates in the nap room, before going out again. (Yes, your dog should be comfortable in a crate.) This is much more fun and safer than other places I looked at, where 30 dogs or more mill around together in a room or yard. I'm so glad this is available for daycare and boarding. read more

I took a bright, happy puppy there and came home with an anxious dog who didn't like other dogs anymore. Barbara just threw my dog into a cage with a bunch of other small dogs where a Frenchie proceeded to sit there and bark in my dog's face. I should have taken her home right then. There were no slow introductions and hardly any supervision. There are so many things wrong with this place, I'm shocked that it's still open. read more

Nope! We don't normally bring our dog here, but our regular spot was booked up. The building itself is a little questionable. We have a large GWP, high energy, super lovable. When they took him to the backyard play area he tried to escape the caged area. The owners response was to just spray the dogs with water to keep them back. When they couldn't manage him, they tried to bring him to the "nap" area. Essentially a dark room with a bunch of different size cages. I don't know how they thought they were going to get him in a small cage when they couldn't keep him in the outdoor area. I admit my dog can be a challenge sometimes because he has some separation issues, but they clearly don't know how to handle larger dogs. I was horrified and I took my dog home with me. NO WAY was he staying. I would recommend Preppy Pets in Fitchburg!!! read more

My dog used Manilow's from 2007-2015 for doggy day care and kenneling. I have nothing but praise for Barbara and her entire staff. I took my dog to several other doggy day care facilities in the area and none of them were as welcoming as Barbara and Manilow's. As a matter of fact I question whether those other doggy day care owner's even enjoy dogs. The other "review" on here that suggests Barbara is not socially oriented with dogs is simply false. My dog came home tired every day and I never had any issues with her or her service. She has the largest outdoor playground with huge fenced off sections for dogs of all sizes and temperament as well as an indoor kenneling area and a large indoor open space with toys etc. Barbara was there for my family's dog through a couple moves that were very stressful for everyone (especially my dog) and she was there to offer severely discounted pricing to help us out. Ultimately don't' rely one on persons slanted view on a business. Particularly when they leave room to personally insult someone online, consider motive. Go check out Manilow's for yourself. Once you get to know Barbara you would find she has is a kind person who's 100% in tune with dogs. read more

My dog comes out of Manilow's as if she is just waking up. Why? Because the dogs are crated in the "nap room" (dungeon) most of their stay. There is no dog noise upon arrival because they are caged in the dungeon of various sized crates. The owner, Barbara, is not human or dog socially oriented. She's abrupt, monotone, never excited to see you or your dog, has little interaction with other people's dog and quick to send your dog outside before they get caged. What a gig to take in so much money for so little work. The 2 hour pick up/drop off allotments reveal that she leaves in between those times. Leaving my dog at this place is the same as crating my dog at home alone, except, I save money. Totally not impressed. Shame on Manilow's for pretending to be dog -oriented. read more

I've delayed a bit leaving a review. Manilow's is not some picture perfect, blue ribbon kennel. Barbara might be a bit of a character. But the care they give the dogs is outstanding! I've had painters at my house this week. To avoid tail marks on the walls, I've been taking Rocky to day care. Rocky is a "special" boy and I love him but I know he can be difficult. The staff here allowed Rocky a little time with each group until he found the group that clicked! He comes home every day worn out but happy and he goes straight to the car, wanting to go back to Manilow's! They've been accommodating about my schedule and I'll keep taking Rocky to them! read more

We sent our beloved Siberian Husky to Barbara and the gang and Manilow's for many years. When we moved out of the area we were all heartbroken. Being 45 minutes away we still used Manilow's for kenneling and occasional day trips. Every time we got off the exit to Manilow's my dog would go NUTS!!! He came home tired and happy. We would say the word "Barbara" and his ears would sit straight up! We lost our dog in September after 10 wonderful years with him and our new puppy will be arriving soon. We are so sad we will not have Barbara and her gang as a staple in the life of this new pup. Barbara is passionate and loving and it is SO OBVIOUS how wonderful she is at what she does when you see her interact with animals. We plan to kennel the new pup with Manilow's and have him visit whenever possible. We tried several other doggy day cares where we live and none have come even close in comparison! This is a wonderful place and you won't regret sending your pup to visit! read more

I love Manilow's Canine Playground, and more importantly, my mini schnauzer does too! She always has a fun time, and comes home in need of a good nap! They take good care of her there. They offer other services too, and we had our dog trained there! I'd also like to point out their hours are great so I can drop my dog off early and get her after work! My labradoodle and I love Manilow's! He has a lot of friends there who recognize him when Barbara brings him out to the yard! Dogs are kept cool in the summer with pools outside and air conditioning inside in the nap room. My dog must never actually nap because he sleeps like a log when I get him home (perfect for me after a long workday!) Barbara gets to know all of her dogs well, sorts them into playgroups accordingly, of how much time the spend playing and taking a break. I was so happy when she expanded to overnight kennel services so that my dog can spend my vacations at his favorite place. Summer camp for dogs! read more
