Pretty nice beach that accepts nonresidents of The Hamptons! It's $30/parking per day so try to come early in the day to get your money's worth. They do have rinse of stations and the bathroom is nice compared to some of the other beach bathrooms around town. read more

Love this beach so much all year round, except when the biting flies are out and about lol Must have a resident sticker till 9pm during beach season or pay $25 bucks for the day to park. If you don't, you'll be ticketed over and over again by the bay constable until you move your car, unlike other places in the city where you can remain parked once you get a ticket. So be warned! One really annoying thing is that people bring their dogs during off hours and some will bury their dogs waste in the sand instead of picking it up... If you're gonna own a dog... Own all of it, people!!! Still this beach has some awesome sand and great views of the ocean, amazing sunsets and equally beautiful full moon and stars view at night too! Multiple parking areas but one central area with spaces for bikes and electric cars and life guards and a hot and cold food shack with shower and bathroom facilities that was all rebuilt last year and looks beautiful. read more

Great beach that has plenty of space, especially a little bit away from the main entrance. We visited during the week and found lots of other families enjoying the beach. No loud music or large unruly groups. There is a net set up for volley ball and the beach itself is great. Parking is $30 a day for in & out privileges and the pavilion has a cafe and sells beach items (umbrellas, boogie boards, ect...). read more

Everything you would hope for in a beach at sunset. Peaceful, quiet, beautiful vistas, clean sand, easy access, parking, & shower stations. Impromptu stop on way to dinner. Could've stayed all night & just taken in the relaxing scenery. While I can't speak to how good the waves are, the surfers & kayakers appeared to be as happy. Everyone was chill. read more

Wide soft sandy Beaches are similar along the south side of Long Island but seem to have a big difference in crowd density and demographics from either ends of the island. Wasn't busy at all midday midweek in early July. Paid $30 entrance fee for a nonresident. Also gives access to a related beach 2 miles west of this one that has even lower crowd density. In the pavilion 1. Snack Shack that offer breakfast, lunch, treats, desserts, drinks 2. picnic tables to eat them 3. bathrooms 4. outdoor showers 5. SPF 30 sunscreen (at entrance of the beach from the pavilion) Located -between Westhampton & Southampton (& even further from Easthampton ). read more

Do people read beach reviews? Nevertheless, here's a brief one. My friends and I have made this our beach of choice for an annual summer beach day. We live in Brooklyn and Queens respectively, hence the annual nature of it. Both times it's been absolutely lovely and has the private beach feel. Perfect for a late arrival and even later departure. We tend to stay and watch the dreamy sunset, then kick it to some good music in the parking area once it's pitch black out and star gaze. If you're still reading, don't come. Though I am an avid fan of "the Far East," this was my first trip to Hampton Bays. What a pleasant surprise! It is a lovely and underrated Hampton that I won't overlook in the future. $25 to park but otherwise the beach is free. Not a bad deal especially considering South Hampton and other beaches will run you $40 to park. The beach itself was lovely. They have a big pretty clean for a beach restroom. Outdoor showers. Concession stand. You can (and should) bring coolers with food and drinks on the beach. Clientele is lovely so dress to impress. I'm aware it's a beach but put on make up anyway so you don't feel as conspicuous as I did. read more

I love this beach! It's peaceful, quiet, clean. No seashells though, sad. Anyway, we came here to check out the beach area in case we want to come back and enjoy the sun. As far as the water goes, of course I can't see my feet but that's ok. We were they to take a walk, not to look at my feet! They lay out a nice mat on the pathway going to the beach, can't beat that! Needed parking permit (overpriced!) for a parking lot. One of the employees pointed out where I could purchase the parking pass. It was $40! Ridiculous. But that's not all. The employee told me to buy the wrong pass! So then they gave me a ticket for $100! I'm not paying $140 to park in a lot when given bad advice by their own employee. That's sheer stupidity. The township of Southampton is poorly managed. Go someplace else. read more

Beautiful beach. Luckily i know someone who has a beach pass so we just drive right in! On arriving you go over this huge bridge it has a great view. Their is a little shop on the beach property where you can rent chairs/ umbrellas get some food and even has some fun beach toys for kids! Bathrooms need a little updating and restocking Very warm in there. They do have a baby changing station. Looks like the air dryer has barnacles growing on it! A little freaky On the way down to the beach through the main area they have a great blue pathway to walk on to avoid getting sunk in on the sand really loved that i wish all beaches have that! The lifeguards who were off duty were playing a game of volleyball on one of the many nets!! Cant wait to return again!! read more

Recently renovated and it looks great. Renovations included the decking, spruced up the restrooms and added additional outdoor showers. The beach is clean and well staffed with life guess. Lots of parking and the few isn't too bad $25. The snack shop has some pretty good offerings too. A few of notes: - The walk from the parking lot to the beach is short, which is key if you are lugging lots of beach stuff. - Its a super short drive to the little village area in Hampton Bays. Lots of shops to grab things before you get to the beach. - Wish they had added some interior showers, but there are none so make sure you plan with that in mind. read more

Non resident parking pass per car is $25 which affords you access to this beautiful and clean beach. Come early because they sell a limited amount of tickets to give residents preference. They open at 9am, we got there at 9:30 and they sold out of passes shortly after even with a pretty empty lot. You can rent beach chairs and umbrellas for $10 each. I've been baking in the sun on Ponquogue Beach since I was a tot, and it's still my favorite beach of all time. From pretty shells to seaglass, you can find it while walking the sands. Yes, it gets packed in the summer months, most notably on the weekends, but it's totally worth visiting. Forget up-the-island beaches - Ponquogue is where it's at. If you're a local, you can get a beach sticker for parking at a reasonable rate, but if you're an out-of-towner, expect to pay a pretty penny for a day pass. Or you can walk. :) read more

This is the beach of my childhood. My dad owned a supermarket in Hampton Bays and during the summers I lived on this beach. Back then it was a much more laid back community, people were friendlier and all we wanted to do is hang by the beach. The reason why this beach is popular is, when you get off the bridge you can roll right into the parking lot. Many people don't know about the other beaches so the lot will get full quickly. If your not a resident, you'll pay a high parking fee. (it was't like that when I was a kid) I like this beach to this day, its a nice family spot :) read more

Very nice beach. Its easy to get to. Use your green card for discounted parking. Its not very wide so you get a little cramped on weekends and the parking lot is small. But, a nice spot to go. They have restrooms that I believe close around 5pm and a small snack stand. read more

BIG shout out to the lifeguards and ocean rescue team who don't get the recognition they deserve. They seem to have eyes in the back of their heads and are so adept and stopping crises before they occur. There was a pretty nasty rip tide earlier last week and, despite warning signs, etc. people still went in where they weren't supposed to which resulted in SEVEN simultaneous rescues! There were rescues that prevented drownings including a warning whistle that alerted a family to the potential of their child and the parent was able to intervene. Remember, every time a lifeguard has to enter the water to get you to shore, they are risking their lives as well - AND - they were always smiling and wishing us a good day. Very friendly to our kids and super informative when they had questions. The beach itself is BEAUTIFUL. The concession stand has all you want and more and really tasty food! And the people running the stand are so nice and patient. It's the place to be for our family, that's for sure read more

I always hit this beach at least once a summer. Ponqougue Beach is awesome. It's clean water with white clean sand. Good for families or singles. It's very uncrowded, Very Nice! They have a little food stand with hot dogs and hamburgers. It's a great beach to just chill out and relax. If you want to party go to Neptunes down Dune Rd. Or just chill here. read more

Concerncing the newly renovated Snack Shack: the past two experiences ordering food and drinks at the Snack Shack were horrible. We waited ~40 minutes for meals no more complicated than French fries and burgers. The staff were not wearing gloves and handled both cash and food products. It is a shame that there is not better management for such an amazing beach. Will be returning to Ponquogue but will be packing all food and drink! read more

Anytime I have been there I feel like there's been enough lifeguards which is important for me since I have 3 young kids. The food is decent Beach food nothing too crazy. I wish they had a playground there on the beach. That is something that other beaches have down south that we could benefit from. But other than that we find it a great ocean beach to go to. Very nice beach in South Hampton. $25 to park is steep, but both par for the course and on the cheaper side for the Hamptons. The beach is fairly close to the parking lot, so it's not a terribly long walk to find a spot on the beach. There is a building at the beach with bathrooms and a small kitchen serving ice cream and beach food (fries, etc). Bathrooms could have been cleaner. Water wise, the day we went, there were good waves but a lot of seaweed in the water. read more
