It's a smaller and much quieter alternative to neighboring options, but still has everything you could want for the perfect beach day. Bathrooms? Check. Showers? Check. Food and beverage stand with a variety of options? Check. Short walk to the beach? Check. Everyone mostly behaves on this beach, which I appreciate. It's definitely not a "Hamptons party beach" (if you're looking for that vibe, Hot Dog beach would be my pick, where the surfer bros like to hang. It's worth noting that the bathrooms at Tiana don't open until the last week of June, so if you're coming here for the day before then you may have to brave the port-a-potty. Also, if you see a seal on the beach here, leave it alone or face a fine. That said, they're so fun to spot -- promise my seal photos are taken from a far distance with a zoomed in camera.

My pup had the BEST time ever running around the secluded beach. Not far down the road is Main street in West Hampton which has tons of little cute shops and restaurants. We used to get photo IDs and permits every summer, because we would stay for 5-6 weeks at my parents' house. There were wonderful cheeseburgers and fries, and the shower/bathroom facilities are quite nice and clean. Apparently Schmidt's is running the concession this summer, and it's very popular. My brother and his family have permits, but I can't get one because I don't live in the village. However, after 5 pm, the lifeguards are gone, and the concession is closed. Great place for picnics! Really a beautiful beach. And the closest one to me. The picnics after 5 are a summer tradition, although the deck is sometimes taken over by weddings or yoga classes. But the beach is open.

Nope, they live here and Suffolk County has received many complaints about them Don't worry- the ambulance only came and took the mom TWO TIMES in our 35 hour stay! We had to leave our fire as the man screamed and berated that she was a nuisance for having issues accessing the bathroom. Don't camp anywhere near site 27! Definitely not a safe and serene experience we were hoping for. Will be contacting the main Suffolk County Parks office tomorrow.
